Great place with excellent food and service. The egg roll brisket cheesesteak, wings with Alabama sauce, cole slaw, and beans are our favorites.

Great BBQ on the east coast which can be hard to find. Rob, the owner is genuinely attention and open to feed back. He even gave us a sample of one of his menu items which were some of the best wings I've had in a while! I highly recommend you come here if you want to taste some good BBQ. Oh! As for recommendations, try the ribs fries, Mac and cheese and brisket. Cole slaw is fantastic!

This restaurant is hands down the best bbq place in the state. The owner Rob is so nice and makes you feel like you’re at home. Everything about the atmosphere is great from the music to the smell in the air it just makes you want to dig in. I had the brisket and wings and boy let me tell you I will never get wings anywhere else. The quality of the meat is INSANE the juiciest most mouth watering drums, and don’t even get started on the flats. The Alabama white sauce goes so well with the chicken and if you’re a spice fanatic like me the bangin bama is a MUST! The brisket literally melted in my mouth and Robs house made bbq is better than any other bbq both store bought or house anywhere else. But wait there’s more…. The sides are out of this world. The Mac and cheese and baked beans are so damn good! I was never a fan of baked beans until I came here and now I will only ever get baked beans from here. And finally the egg rolls, were perfect. Rob is genius for coming up with these because let me tell you man they’re the bomb. The brisket cheese steak cheese pull was insane, and the house smoked queso was brilliant. Lastly, the service I was greeted by Phoebe a sweet girl with a pretty smile, who treated me with such respect. And if you guys think that the food takes long to be served your wrong, with just ten minutes of me ordering the food came out and it was the perfect temperature. Overall, this place is the BOMB and you must go here!

This is the BEST BBQ i’ve ever had in my whole life. The owner, Rob, makes everything in the restaraunt from scratch and it shows. I’ve never been a fan of mashed potatoes or beans, but Mostly Smoked has converted me. Everything I had to eat was smoked to perfection. The restaurant itself was spotless, which is shocking for a BBQ restaurant. If you are a music lover, you will love the rock and roll decor and the constant loop of classic rock set the scene. The staff was impeccable, especially a tall handsome man by the name Dan. He was kind, gracious and made my dining experience ever better. I will be back!!

Love eating bbq and even better when you don't have to cook it yourself! Ordered the 2 meat platter that comes with your choice of 2 smoked meats with 2 sides. We decided on the brisket and ribs, with coke slaw and parmesan chive mashed potatoes. Fell in love with the mashed potatoes, so rich and creamy! The Cole slaw helped cut through the grease so always a plus. The brisket, which I was the most excited to try, was a bit dry. I've tried brisket from Texas and boy, was theirs tender and juicy. Loved the ribs and definitely would reorder them again. Also tried one of their featured sandwiches which was quite tasty and very crispy, just the way chicken should be. Overall, decent smoked bbq place for ribs. Would have loved to love the brisket though! Staff are very friendly and the interior is quite clean. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating is available!

The food is amazing! We had catering for my son's birthday and everyone raved about the food. Everyone loved it! The BBQ is amazing but dont miss out on their mac & cheese and corn bread. We will definitely be eatting there again soon.

Hands down the best bbq I’ve had. I had a party catered by them. They were easy to go back and forth with about decisions. They had everything ready and well packed when pick up was. Calling all meat-aterians, you have to check this spot out! Brisket is my favorite, my honey loves the ribs. Rub on both is delish! Sides are well seasoned, good choices. Sampled chix salad, very refreshing... next time. Have my eye on the cuban with smoked ham mmmmmm. And don't forget the sweet tea, missing a lemon but still so good. See you there!

Casual BYOB indoor bbq spot. All meats are sliced thin and come with bbq sauce on top. Parmigiana garlic mash potato’s were so yummy! Mac and cheese was just ok. I like a very creamy Mac and cheese and this one was flavorful but not creamy! Picked onions were also very tasty! Worth a try!

I can't even begin to fathom the food I just had here. Everything was IMPECCABLE. I've only given a 10/10 to a few places but this places hit the 11. EVERYTHING was mouth watering good and extremely unique. I will definitely be coming back here. The owner was present and was also extremely humble and proud of the business he has established and I see why! This is 101% worth the stop. One of the best places in all of new jersey period.

We catered from Mostly Smoked & worked directly with Rob, the owner. He was extremely helpful, letting us know exactly how much food to order, and he worked closely with us when our numbers for the party changed. The food was absolutely delicious. We had about 90 people, and the entire party was raving about the food. Everyone was asking where we got it from. Would definitely use Mostly Smoked again...and I'd recommend it to anyone for any future parties!!!

First time trying this barbecue place out and it was very delicious! We ordered the 2 meat platter with brisket and pulled pork. For the sides we got mashed potatoes, baked beans, cornbread, and fried pickles they were all delicious. We especially loved the fried pickles. Overall the bbq was solid I think our favorite was the fatty brisket which was super tender and very tasteful. The service was top notch and everyone was super friendly amazing service for sure. We will definitely be back!

Best BBQ joint I've been to. It's a must try. I drive from another state for almost an hour just to eat there. Definitely worth the trip.

I don’t really have words to describe how amazing this place is. Easily the best BBQ place in Central Jersey. Without any question. I got the brisket platter with cole slaw and fries as my side and the portions are huge, prices are cheap, and the taste is unbelievable! I didn’t think NJ could pull off good BBQ, but this place can! Im going to go home and spend the next few hours thinking about how good this place was. Owner is a stand up guy too! Very friendly and the workers are nice too. Overall, 11/10!

My family eats Mostly Smoked quite often. We drop in for a quick lunch or dinner and have catered from them many, many times. The food is always exceptional, the meat is tender and the sides are awesome! The ambiance is fun and has a great, chill vibe. The owner Rob is always welcoming and treats his customers like they have been his friends forever. He is so friendly and always goes the extra mile to make sure we are happy. Mostly smoked is the best addition to this area! We are big time fans!

I found Mostly Smoked Restaurant this past week driving to see family up North Jersey. This Restaurant is a gem or should I say gold mine for our family. I was lucky enough to meet the owner Rob. His kindnesses and expertise in smoked BBQ food is exemplary. His passion for the foods he puts out of this world. He was so amazing he let my kids try different choices of meat to see what they liked better. The smoked brisket sandwich and coleslaw was to die for. My husband got the chicken sandwich, bbq beans pickles and extra cornbread. Both kids had the pulled pork and loved it much we even got some to go. I live over an hour away and will definitely be back a few more times before the summer ends. We give Mostly Smoked 5 stars. Thanks again Rob and.crew for the best lunch ever.

Mostly smoked is the best barbecue around ! My family and I can’t get enough of Rob and his amazing menu! We were able to talk with Rob and see his passion. He is so kind and takes pride in everything he does. We drive an hour on the regular just to have a meal. We love all his platters and meats cooked to perfection. Can’t say enough about this place! My son brings a car load of friends who also can’t get enough of mostly smoked. Portions are huge and everything is so flavorful. Definitely try the egg rolls and the mashed potatoes are another favorite !

Came on a Thursday at 5pm, got the brisket platter to go. Unfortunately the brisket was incredibly dry and cold by the time I got home (I live off Gordons corner, 5 minutes away). Sauce tasted great, but completely soaking it in sauce to hide the fact your brisket is dry was unfortunate and is exactly what bad bbq is. The mac n cheese was also bad, the roux/cheese sauce had hardened and was also, clearly old. Pros: quick, nice service. Burnt end beans were really great.

We ordered the sliced brisket with baked beans and coleslaw and I can honestly say this is the best BBQ around! This is the best BBQ food we have ever had. Found out it is family owned and operated. The owner came over to our table minutes after our food was delivered to see if we needed anything. Friendly, clean and a fantastic meal. We had brisket, beans, Mac & cheese, best cole slaw so fresh and hand cut potatoes for French fries. Took home corn muffins and they were terrific. Amazing owner and food! Rob went out of his way to have food delivered to my family 20+ mins away as I am out of state and wanted to surprise them With a small catering order. Keep in mind they do not deliver or use DoorDash. I cannot say enough about this place and Rob he made it happen for me! My brother said the food was incredible! Wow! I am stoked to announce that I have hands down found my go to barbecue restaurant after all these years of being on this earth. Let me just start by saying that I have had barbecue in Fort Worth TX, Pennsylvania, Georgia, New York City, Jacksonville NC, and all over New Jersey, naturally. This restaurant and caterer is by far the best I have ever had in my life, literally. Also has some amazing menu options which you don’t see at barbecue restaurants. Let’s start when you walk thru the front door. Upon arriving to the counter, I was greeted by a friendly young lady who is related to the owner. Beyond pleasant, eager to answer questions, and extremely helpful and patient. Hard to find this type front of house help in most restaurants. I asked her if this was a wood fired pit, and she said yes. Upon returning to the dining area, the owner had given me a sample taste of the beans and mash potatoes!! Oh……my…….gosh!!! The beans have smoked brisket ends in them and have a nice light smokey flavor!! Intense!! Mash potatoes were silky and beyond tasty and topped with a few scallions! Utterly amazing!!! I proceeded to place my order which consisted of the two meet platter which came with two sides. I took the Mac & Cheese, and Baked Beans. Mac & Cheese is kid friendly, and delicious!! Cheesy to say the least. I did not have to wait that long and the food came out nicely plated and hot!! My immediate first impression was, man this is gonna be good!! Portions were spot on and I couldn’t finish it!! Again, very nice size portions. The brisket was intense! Tender, extremely flavorful with a light smoke. You have the option of regular or juicy! Either way is beyond good!! The ribs!! Oh those ribs!! Hot, beyond flavorful, light smoke with a smoke ring, and a slight bite. No mush here!! Myron Mixon would be so proud!! Now for the constructive part of the review. I’m thinking the restaurant should be offering merch like T-shirts. I have to say that this restaurant by far has been the best barbecue experience of my life in New Jersey. The attention to detail, and respect for the customer is bar none the best around. The only downfall I say is that they are closed on my off day which is Tuesdays. LOL. The aroma of “fire smoke” wafted thru my nostrils on a damp spring day as soon as I got out of my car. My son, my wife and myself walked in and was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. They do not have chicken tenders or nuggets, so they made some out of their chicken sandwich for my son. He’s 3. He don’t eat brisket. Which passed the bend and pull test. The smoked fried wings were full of flavor and the sauces that accompanied them took it to another realm of delicious. The ribs were tender to the bite yet firm enough to stay on the bone. The real winner was the mashed potatoes. Those were the exclamation point on this dreary Jersey Sunday afternoon. Will be back, will recommend.

Before we even entered, this amazing smell invited us in.We started with smoked brisket cheese steak egg rolls that were out of this world!! We all went with the Brisket platter, but our sides varied between (all home made) onion rings, burnt tip baked beans, French fries and Mac and cheese. The brisket was so tender it could be cut with a plastic fork and literally just melted in our mouths. The onion rings were crispy, the fries cooked perfectly, Mac and cheese not too cheesy and the beans full of flavor. The owner was a pleasure to speak and the rest of the staff truly couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. This place is highly recommended!

We recently went for the first time and were extremely pleased. My wife had the ribs platter and I had the brisket platter. The food was delicious, very high quality with large portions. My wife has to be gluten free so it was great to find that labeled on the menu. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The owner came to our table to welcome us and advise my wife that he is very careful about cross contamination for not only gluten but all allergens which was very reassuring. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend it.

We drove little over an hour 2nd day again after stumbling upon it the day before to eat there again… The owner was so sweet to set up some samples for us while waiting for our order to go….was so delicious!

The thing that stood out to me most besides the delicious BBQ and the accompanying sides and sauces is how much the owner clearly cares. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience without being intrusive. The place was very clean, including the bathroom. Finding good BBQ in NJ is difficult and this place was a gem to find. I would not hesitate to return.

Stopped in here today for the first time and had the best barbecue meat!! The owner was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and gave my daughter and I samples. Outstanding wings! In a world of anorexic and frozen buffalo varieties, these wings are slow smoked and then flash fried to seal in the flavor and create a perfect rendering of the crispy skin. Get them with Alabama white sauce ftw. The pulled pork is also very good, and definitely order the Parmesan mashed potatoes and the burnt end baked beans.

In town for a concert in sayreville and stopped by and it did not disappoint. Being later in the day about an hour before close wasn't sure but the food was delicious. We placed an order for 8 people. The food and service were absolutely amazing. The best BBQ we've had, and I do a lot of smoking BBQ myself. Rob was so attentive to our requests. He immediately came over to us and introduced himself to us. Rob and I got talking and we are both Grateful Dead fans for many years. His place is decorated with amazing posters and memorabilia of the 60's & 70's. Wow!!! This place was amazing. I’ve been some the top rated bbq places in NJ. Mostly Smoked just moved to the top. Brisket sandwich with house made sauce was the best I’ve ever had. Super tender and juicy. Sauce was amazing. Also got an order of dry rub wings. Equally as good. Got house made buffalo on the side. Really good. Would get them tossed next time. Owner and staff were great. Offered suggestions and recommendations. Ended up ordering some wings to go for my son and bringing home a bottle of house made sauce. Don’t pass up this place.

This place is AMAZING! I work locally at a car dealership and this is the second time we have gotten them for lunch for all the employees and we are all obsessed! The mashed potatoes & egg-rolls are fantastic (and of course all the meat!). Only thing I would change is the paper bags for take out, some of the food leaked through and food fell to the floor. Glad we found a local BBQ joint that is close and delicious!

Had a catering of event for 30 people. It was delicious, severed hot and delicious. Portions were excellent. Service was excellent. Highly recommend for any party and any size.

Staff and owner were friendly and warm. Food was delicious - mac & cheese was great, mashed potatoes were delicious - creamy and smooth. LOVED the ribs, pulled chicken had great flavor, even the coleslaw was really good - it was flavorful and light. Not a single complaint, cant wait to come back and try other menu items!

My husband and I are big barbecue fans. We have a favorite in Georgia that we go to every time we’re anywhere near Savannah. After reading the reviews, I had high hopes for this restaurant. I’ll start with this… the sauce is absolutely delicious. It makes the meal. We shared a platter with 2 different meats. My husband had ribs and I had brisket. Ribs were just okay… not very tender. They didn’t have a lot of flavor, but were made better by the sauce. My brisket was decent, made much better by the sauce. Mashed potatoes were delicious. Mac and cheese was a take it or leave it. Sweet potato fries didn’t have much taste. I’m sure we’ll be back, as it’s the best barbecue we’ve had in the area.

To anyone who has not heard or tried Mostly Smoked BBQ in Manalapan, you have no idea what you been missing out on. Rob the owner is an absolute genius when it comes to BBQ food. Today we had the pleasure of trying his new BBQ Cuban sandwich. All I can say is WOW! From his brisket cheesesteak eggs rolls, to the pulled chicken or pork, to his every now and then smoked pastrami and much more delicious BBQ,you will never leave disappointed. Let me not forget about the sides... Mac and cheese, mash potatoes, brisket baked beans, fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, my favorite the fried pickles and more.

Ok, so I stumbled on this place on google while looking for a good barbecue spot in Jersey. So we decided to give it a try. OMG!! listen this is some of the best I’ve had in NJ!! This is a hidden gem!! We had the rib platter along with the pulled pork and brisket platter!! When I tell you it was all DELICIOUS I mean it!! They serve nice portions too..not by the lb like other places.The prices were affordable for what you get. The atmosphere was friendly and clean. This is a must try. Sauces and sides..of Mac and cheese, baked beans, cornbread were good. We will definitely be back!!

Best BBQ in NJ hands down. Our first time there, will not be our last. Wishing the owner all best , this place is a winner.

Again, I stopped by last week for an outstanding meal. I had the smoked wings with dry rub asked for BBQ sauce on the side and a small brisket chili. Both were fantastic. The "small" chili was large enough for a lunch meal. Had pulled brisket with additional cubed chunks with some beans. Served steaming hot and on the medium high side for spiciness - best chili I ever had. The wings were amazing - smoked and quickly fried with a dry rub - ate more without added sauce then with it. Meating, tender and flavorful. So, so good - Will be a challenge to make a decision on what to order again next - all choices are so delicious -- but I really want to have the ribs again!!!!!!! Michael 1/7/24 Mostly Smoked – BBQ Inspired Eatery If you want, and you should, true smoked BBQ Ribs, Pulled Pork, Brisket and more I highly recommend Mostly Smoked. On Route 9N just passed Gordons Corner in the Home Fashion Center, Manalapan. My first taste was the pulled chicken on brioche topped with his house made Cole Slaw and pickles. Cole Slaw is 5 stars. Pulled chicken so, so good. All I thought about while eating was what I was going to try next time. So, one week later it was ½ rack of ribs … WOW. Excellent. Great bark – meat falls off the bone and so delicious. You need to slow down to enjoy the flavor and tenderness. I confirmed with Rob (the owner) he uses his own dry rub and post smoking just before they are served drizzles a bit of House BBQ Sauce. The balance is wonderful. Rob is open to showing his kitchen with a wood burning smoker. It is amazing to see the ribs smoke with the wood burning side compartment. Definitely will be back soon. Downside to his authentic smoking is that he is closed Monday and Tuesday. Monday the smoker’s wood burning compartment needs to be cleaned, after cooling down from Sunday night. Then they start to cook on Tuesday as the Brisket smokes for 16 hours and the ribs for 6 so all is ready for Wednesday’s open… Next time I am going for the smoked quick fried chicken (thigh) sandwich!! What a great place. Went for the first time today and only bad thing I can say is why did I wait so long. I go to Memphis for work a lot and I put the BBQ right up with some of the best in Memphis Service is incredible as well

Rob the owner is the nicest guy in the world, me and my family have been getting food from him since before he even opened his storefront. The food he makes is incredible and consistently amazes us with how great it is. We’ve catered from him numerous times for special occasions and each time there was no food leftover and everyone had great things to say. Do yourself a favor and visit here ASAP!

We had the 1 meat platter with the brisket, burnt end beans and mashed potatoes. We also had the pulled chicken sandwich with coleslaw. The food was delicious and the bbq sauce was very tasty. It was the best bbq I have ever had in NJ. We will be back!!

5 stars for catering order! Recently catered a family party from Mostly Smoked and what a delicious hit the food was! The turkey, brisket, and ribs are all amazing. The staff are extremely gracious and nice to work with. A slightly pricier option but 100% worth it because the quality of the meat and flavor is there! Highly recommend and will be back again!

This mom and Pop barbecue spot is an incredible elevated barbecue experience that you need! From the brisket eggrolls to the scratch made sauces, this place is truly delicious! I indulged in a meat platter with all the fixings! Pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, ribs, egg, rolls, and the best wings I’ve ever had! Coleslaw, amazing, mac & cheese, burnt, end baked beans which were unreal , and mashed potatoes that taste like some ones grandmother made! I was blown away at the amazing flavors ! Oh and GET the cornbread!
