Very cool, local produce market. Stopped in for peaches and homemade peach ice cream...they did not disappoint. Great selection of home baked goods, pickled vegetables and a whole lot more, crammed into this "mom & pop" but especially valuable local stop. Wish there were more like it but corporations become king. Not yet on this quiet mountain road. :)

Very friendly staff, the homemade ice cream was fresh and delicious! We went there for Halifax cantaloupe, and they were the best, juicy and full of flavor. All the fruit, produce, dry/ canned goods looked amazing. We will be back!

Always a great place to stop for some homemade ice cream, jams, and juice. The juice of the day when we went was cantaloupe (if you haven't had it, you Absolutely have to try it!)

Wonderful fruit and local produce! Recommend making baking orders ahead of time - well worth the wait! Fresh apple fritters are so good! Full deli kitchen grill as well. Every time I visit Bedford I make sure to pay a visit!

It's a cute country store with a grill where you can order some food, buy homemade ice cream, purchase different flavors of cider, as well as get some snacks, candy, and other drinks.

This is a great place to stop on the way to BRP near Peaks of the Otter. There is a grill in back with made to order breakfast sandwiches and burgers. In addition are baked goods like banana bread or maple apple bread. Also fresh fried apple pies in season. The outside is deceptive. Stop and go inside....lots of good things.

If you are heading up to the peaks be sure to stop here on the way in or out. They have great pies, ice cream, ciders, and more.

Great little country store and grill on 43/Peaks Road outside of Bedford. Made to order breakfast sandwiches, lots of fruit, cider, jams, jellies, etc. The fried hand pies are delicious as well.

Love this place, and the food and pies are delicious. Hand pies are so good . There are plenty of things to take home or as gifts . Pickles and salsas , jams, or jellys sauces. Produce and, of course, the recently picked peaches or apples from Orchard.

Fun local produce stand. The help is very friendly, and makes you feel at home. I loved filling my vehicle up on an old school gas pump! Definitely worth a stop!

I love this place, and the young lady that runs it is one of the most friendly people you could ever meet. She makes some the most delicious pies, and bread you will ever try. Great job!

I love their peach ice cream and fresh baked apple pie heaped full of thin slices of apples and spiced and warm from the oven... So good! I have had mixed luck with their actual apples sold there being mealy inside and you would expect them to be so fresh but several tried they weren't. But the preserves and baked goods are fantastic!

That no sugar added applebutter was worth the stop.

Wow what a great find! Walked in and the wonderful people there thanked me for my service and gifted me a peach pie!!! I shared that pie with 4 other service members and their family. The peaches I bought there were fresh and a huge hit as well.

Remember this place when we stopped in years ago! I quickly whipped it so I could stop in again! 10 out of 10 hidden gem! Awesome deli sandwiches. Tons of awesome canned ,jarred,bottled homemade goodies. Got some bacon ranch, pickled okra,hot dill pickles, elderberry jelly and the homemade friend pie is AWESOME! Delish ice cream and really cute hanging baskets! Love this spot. Thanks y'all !

Driven by this little store many times on the way to the Peaks of Otter and never stopped in. Today, the Peach Ice Cream sign caught my eye especially. I resolved to stop by on the way back. Luckily, we got there just in time before they closed at 6, and they had the ice cream! While I haven't eaten it yet, (that's for after dinner) we have taste tested 5 different salsas, from black bean and corn to peach to strawberry, and we loved them. I have apple butter for breakfast, too! Overall a charming little shop with dozens of items you won't find many other places that will surely be a staple of our future trips to the Peaks.

This little place is a must-stop whenever I visit Bedford. So cute, very clean, and so well stocked! Everyone that works there is very friendly. You have to try the homemade ice cream! It is amazing.

This is one of our favorite stops! Not only about the homemade peach ice cream, today we walked in and Joy lets us try her brand new homemade peach cobbler, in a homemade cone. It was outstanding.

Hidden gem in Bedford. Leave the highway and go north on route 43 for a great deli sandwich, fresh baked pie that'll make you wish you'd come sooner, and other country goods like jams and local honey. Fresh produce as well. I go there anytime I'm near the area. Don't miss out!

She has fresh food but a lot of stuff and nurse message you break it you pay for it it's a good place for fresh fruit

For a little bitty town this is the most unfriendliest place I've ever been in and so overpriced they have two young teenagers there working and they could care less if you bought anything or not they just they didn't even open the door for us and I was in a wheelchair

They have many homemade flavors of ice cream, also homemade soups and pies good little spot to stop at with kids, on the way up to the peaks for trails and views

Been going here since I was a kid. All their items are too quality, and unique things you can't get anywhere else. Their homemade turnovers and ice cream are my favourites.

Great spot to stop for fresh vegetables and food. The fresh BLT was amazing... toasted perfectly and just the right mixture of fresh sliced tomato , bacon and lettuce. Will definitely be here next trip to the peeks of Otter. Thanks for a great experience!

Best fried apple pies around. Very good all the food is good there. Fresh apples nuts beans just scoop them up by the pound. They have real good chili beans too. The girls that work in there are sweet as they can be. Don't pass it up once you stop in there you will always go back. Try the cherry apple cider.

Basically for locals only. Cold cut sandwiches are made from prepackaged meat. Our order was NOT made as requested. Allergies made known to staff yet ham was placed on sandwich which required turkey or chicken ONLY. This could have sent that person into a very serious attack and we were at the Peaks wanting to enjoy our day! I would not recommend this place for anyone visiting the area.

We drove 2 hours just to get their peach and banana ice cream. The ladies are super friendly. The shop is sweet as can be. And the ice cream worth the drive. I hear the pies are delicious...we haven't cut into ours yet, but I am sure it will be delicious.

The customer service here is great and they have the best ice cream! I love the peach, but they are all delicious. Their pies are works of art and I can't express how great the mom and pop country store vibe is!!

If you are the sort who actively seek out experiences that lie beyond the ordinary- beyond the pre-packaged and impersonal, then I can heartily recommend finding your way to this roadside attraction along that stretch of Virginia route 43 as it stretches from Bedford to the Peaks of Otter and the Blue Ridge Parkway. While those naturally splendid destinations will afford the expected thrills to one's senses, our experience at this charming stop along the highway were the perfect complement to the adventure. Homemade ice cream using the area's abundant fruit, hot fruit pies, and other delights make this the perfect place to take a break, and the friendly folk behind the counter will make this a welcome pause in the oft-hectic time spent on the open road...
