They have replaced the VEGETABLE Mononglycerides with SOYBEAN OIL and SOY LECITHIN. The taste of the cookie has changed. If I would have known this before I bought 3 bags I wouldn't have done it. I wish I could get my money back. They will lose sales because of this. I use to be a faithful customer but because of this change not anymore. So they changed the recipe!

Very nice place loved the cookies. All the employees were very nice and friendly. I wasn't planning to but brought 3 packs of cookies. I wanted to add I brought my cookies in November 2023 put them in my pantry and forgot about them !!! Just started eating them here it is July 2024 !!! Still fresh and yummy no I didn't put them in anything. Ive got to go back don't think I'll wait until Christmas time though lol.

Just received cookies as a birthday present and they are wonderful. Packaging was top notch, don’t change a think and the cookies are just incredible (love the ginger).

A smaller, family run business that is well worth supporting! These are a specialty cookie for sure... Thin, crisp, delicious! A little pricey, but superb for special occasions... We were immediately greeted by a knowleyolder gal. She steered us to the tasting area, where we got to sample six different flavors, and watch the gals on the back hand rolling dough and cutting cookies. This IS NOT some big, mindless corporate business where they churn out thousands upon thousands of cookies per day. This is a smaller, well run business. A family member also does pottery, with glasses, cups, bowls, etc on display for sale. There's a huge parking lot out front, so paryis never a concern. My wife and I were well impressed and bought several different flavors. Well worth the stop, I must say!!

I have thought about visiting here since years ago when I saw them at the Southern Living Show in Charlotte. I'm very glad I went by! Really very nice and helpful. You can see into the kitchen and watch them making cookies!

The cookies are out of sight good. Take the tour as it is very interesting. I can't say enough good stuff about the people who work there. The employees make the experience, and it was great.

This is a great place to purchase delicious homemade Moravian cookies and other related merchandise. There is a window to view the sugar, black walnut, lemon, ginger and chocolate cookies being made. The smells are worth a visit.

Good cookies. We like the ginger and walnut. Just bring plenty of money. It is not inexpensive, but tastes wonderful.

After several decades of buying cookies from Mrs. Hanes I have had to quit as the ordering system was shifted to a virus called Shop and I can not get any information on orders or tracking info. It is a shame such a terrific product is being ruined by out of control IT.

Used to be awesome and reasonable now some of them are too thick and they are expensive... over $30 a pound for simple cookies

My first time there. I loved watching the people making the cookies. They were very friendly and I love the cookies. I got the chocolate and the butterscotch. Yum

Stopped by yesterday after lunch with a senior citizen group from church. It was great to watch them make cookies through the windows. There was a line but the helpful cashiers were ready! This will be a new part of my holiday tradition!

11-04-23, My cousin and his family wanted to visit the famous Mrs. Hanes cookie factory, so after breakfast, this was our next stop. Everyone got some cookies, including me... I chose black walnut & butterscotch. I highly recommend these cookies. If you want to see how they are made, visit their factory store Monday through Friday after 8am but before 1pm! That's when the Magic happens. You can also purchase wood products from the Hanes Family there as well as pottery. Mugs, bowls, dishes, and other wares made by one of the Hanes family. They also have Moravian Stars for sale, small & large assembly required or all ready to hang. It's one of the areas' best attractions!

Nice clean facility friendly staff it was eairly Saturday when we went so no crowd the cookies were good and they have samples of everything and a lot of crafty items to buy

We're from out-of-state and I love the Moravian Ginger Cookies. The lady working the counter was very friendly and informative. She let us sample the different flavors. Mine is still the Ginger Cookies!!

Have always looked forward to these wonderful gifts. Recent package left me wondering. 80 % of the Ginger thins were broken. and these were stale! Possibly a packaging problem? Unique cookie factory lots of workers you watch make the cookies. I guess the cookies are expensive because labor cost these days.

They don't make em like they used to - except at Mrs Hanes'! What a unique time capsule of the list art of hand made craftsmanship! They take clear pride in their methods, and seem to have an amazing business that has stood the test of time. Enjoyed the free cookie samples in the tour too ;)

Received ginger snap cookies for Christmas gift. The absolute best that I have ever eaten. I kept the bag and wrapper to make sure that I could purchase them.

Have worked there 33 years so far!!! I'm 51 now, so all my life, really. The best, most loving and humble family anyone could ever work for and with!! Love them all dearly. We work hard and strive to make a wonderful handmade product. The only machines we use are the ovens, giant mixer and our backs!!!

I read about Mrs. Hanes' cookies in Southern Living magazine and immediately ordered ginger snaps. They were mailed immediately and I received them in a timely manner. The cookies were WONDERFUL! I haven't had REAL gingersnaps in 60 plus years - since we moved from Michigan to Florida. These are definitely the REAL thing. I will be a regular customer from now on. Thank you Mrs Hanes for your great tasting cookies!

This is the BEST PLACE FOR COOKIES EVER!! I drive from Charlotte several times a year just to get these cookies!!

We have long enjoyed Mrs. Hanes' delicious Moravian cookies for the holidays and until recently were able to purchase them locally at the nearby Moravian church's annual bazaar the first Saturday in November. But no bazaar this (pandemic) year, so we decided to make the 2-hour drive west from our home in NC on a beautiful Fall day to visit the factory and on-site store. No tours currently due to the pandemic, but we were able to see through large windows from the store into the production room where the cookies were being hand rolled and individually cut with cookie cutters just like you'd do at home. I knew Mrs. Hanes' story though my husband did not, and Holly was most pleasant and informative with all kinds of interesting details. Even got to meet Mr. Hanes (Travis) who was delightful. Everything they say about it being a family business is all true. Purchased 2 smaller bags of each of the 6 flavors (one bag for now, one for the holidays). We may make this an annual Fall day trip going forward. Highly recommend their cookies and of course visit if you're in the area.
