Nice small Asian restaurant. Nice atmosphere, great food & service.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. We came in with a table of 7. The food was good. The only problem was almost no non-alcoholic drinks (sodas or other). We just had water.

Best sushi in all of Billings. It's a no contest. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Nobody in town comes close to the quality of this place.

Been coming here for years during work trips and never disappoints. First with my family and my son said it's his favorite place! He says, "Recommended 100%!"

Great place great service and good food

Since 1996 this Japanese and Korean haunt delivers pan southeast/pacific Asian food in an unassuming restaurant where the emphasis is on food and service and not atmospheric decor. This visit I concentrated on daily specials and freshly prepared entrees, appetizers, and sides rather than the sushi bar selections and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity given the price range of each catagory. The food was delicious and the wait service was impeccable. So many Billings restaurants can take a lesson in restaurant hospitality and exceptionally prepared cuisine from this venerated dining establishment. Well worth the visit, cost, and return visit.

Not only my favorite sushi place in Billings, my fav in several states. Nara is more than just great food, it's a great experience. From the always changing and always creative menu, the sushi chef Dae provides an awesome place where it's just like "Cheers". Bringing people together.

We had 4 different rolls for lunch and it was hard to tell the difference between them because they were so salty. Disappointing but the service was good.

The filling in the California Rolls had the consistency of mushed up baby food. The same filling appeared in the spring roll (which was not crispy). The wings were mediocre at best, ours were overcooked and salty. The chicken dish my husband got was very good and saved the $70 price tag. We ordered through UE so no opinions about atmosphere.

Best sushi around hands down. Poke nachos, a must-have. The staff make you feel at home, the atmosphere inside is great, and the food is on an epic level. No matter what I say, words will not do the Nara staff or the food justice. Every time I have been in Nara, the friendly professionalism has been beyond amazing. If you're eating anywhere else, simply put your missing out. Come on....just look how amazing this plating looks.

Very good service. I really enjoy the size portions one gets. If you order sake sashimi it's a good-sized chunk of salmon. I understand the kimchi is homemade and I enjoy getting it with a side of white rice. Place has a very convenient location also.

We ate here for my daughter, Jeni's, bday dinner. It was fabulous! The atmosphere was so festive and alive. Lots of chatter and laughter, all around. The food was amazing. I don't eat seafood, so I got the teriyaki chicken, with rice and broccoli. Oh, YUM!! It was the best I've ever had. I can see why NaRa is my daughter's favorite! I highly recommend you come here, eat, hang out. Enjoy the energy, the awesome staff, and the amazing food!

My wife and I went there 2 weeks ago on a Friday evening. We were greeted by a server and were told "give us five minutes we need to set your table". WE waited and waited while observing empty tables. The server even made eye contact with us a couple times but said nothing about seating us. We patiently waited 30 minutes then walked out!

Excellent Nigeri and quality fish! Very impressed with the authenticity of the sushi and great service too.

Bulgogi was not like anything I've had before - vinegary and like a stew. I took a few bites and sent it back complaining of the taste. We still had to pay for it. I've had bulgogi in Korea and Phoenix, and this was very strange. My husband's Thai chicken was only hot and he id not eat much of it either. We did not take any home. We've eaten a lot of Asian food and this was some of the worst.

In fairness, i ordered via Uber. From the prices ($20/roll), i would have assumed this was the best available sushi in town, without question. This was not the case. I ordered 2 basic spicy tuna rolls, like i always do when i try a new restaurant. I couldnt even swallow the first peice due to the overly chewy seaweed. If this were a $5 or $6 dollar roll, sure, thats expected. Not when its $20 a roll for such a simple meal.

Hands down best sushi restaurant in Montana. Excellent quality fish and the portions are plentiful. Quick friendly service and very welcoming environment. Great for a quick bite or one of their all you can eat sushi nights. Highly recommend the Rolling red.

This place is fantastic. Love the creativity with their rolls! My favorite place for sushi & I drive 2 hours to get it!

Was very good food, Lil pricey but worth it !

This is a hard review because I think NaRa can have five stars across the board. We went on a Saturday night and were immediately seated. The staff was really friendly, but there was only one server for the restaurant. It was a little slow, but not too bad. We ordered two entries which also came with miso soup and ginger salad. The soup was amazing. We easily could have had a second portion. The salad though, it was drowned in a soy dressing. There wasn't anything ginger about it. When I say drowned, there was easily a quarter cup left in the bowl when I was finishing. It was just too much. I ordered the Korean chicken fried rice and my wife ordered the bulgogi. The Korean chicken was just one flavor, salt. It was so incredibly salty. It was hard to eat without lots of water to wash it down. The bulgogi was delicious and less salty. In all, I'd try it again, but with different dinners. I'm not sure if that is normal or an off night.

Great service. New to this place. Food was so good. Tried 4 different items on the menu. Miso soup and ginger salad so good. Teriyaki chicken amazing, bacon fried rice yum! Chicken Ramon my favorite.

Pulled into the parking lot and was able to see into the back door as it was propped open. It was extremely unorganized and dirty. The staff was out back smoking, and bugs were flying into the kitchen. A young boy was washing dishes and looked absolutely miserable. I had a bad feeling about the place but decided to go inside and look. The dining area was very small. We stood waiting for service for a few minutes to be informed that they had run out of sushi. Thank God because I didn't want to eat from a place with a bug infestation anyway. Went down the street and had absolutely amazing sushi from a well-kept restaurant. I would recommend dining elsewhere, and the health department should definitely pay this place a visit.

Excellent food and service. My only complaint is they put jalapeños in 90% of their rolls. Would definitely go back.

I love this place. If I can't pick something, they always have something to whip up. You don't have just to get a sushi roll. They have hot food too. The food always gives me Goosebumps.

I don't really do sushi in Billings but the teriyaki fried tofu here is the best fried tofu I've had.

NaRa has best sushi in MT, let alone Billings, but don't miss out on their delicious appetizers too! I highly recommend the seared scallops or the Poke Nachos. Great beer selection, comfortable atmosphere, and every one of their rolls is an absolute work of art.

Fantastic service Jasmine was very knowledgeable and helped us choose some great dishes. The atmosphere and food quality were great and all of the staff seemed to really care if our first experience with them was good. Hey guys it was much better then good we found a great new sushi date night spot !

Always well displayed foods always amazing and fresh

Waitress was rude trying to make us rush, and very impatient. Food was super bland. Rice was dry and the fish didn't seem that fresh, like it sat in a fridge uncovered for a few days. Definitely not worth the inflated prices they charge!

We absolutely love this place. They have great deals for lunch and some dinner specials throughout the week to give an awesome value for what you get. The sushi is excellent and there is no place better in Billings to get it!

I got a to-go order today. Brittany was who helped me. I have never tried sushi before and was hesitant but she helped me pick a roll and it was absolutely delicious. I will definately be back!. I 100% recommend NaRa!

Horrible sushi selection. All the rolls consist of the same thing & the fish likely comes from their local Albertsons, as 5 of the 8 types of fish in the display case were farm-raised Atlantic salmon. Never going bk there. Wild Ginger is far more superior.

Total waste of money. Overpriced, all the rolls are the exact same with no real variety.. drunken noodles are sub-par, no real flavor just spice.. do not recommend this place. Only came here because Wild Ginger is closed, never again. Left hungry because the food was so mediocre.

Nice small place to grab some sushi. Not a lot of sitting. We sat at the bar so we didn't have to wait for a table. The rolls were okay. If you like spicy, this is your place. Most of the sushi had some sort of spicy ingredient or sauce added to it.

Great service from our host, sushi chef and server last night! I had the Stan Ree roll and it was crazy good! Plus I'm a comic book geek so the name of the roll helped!

Nice little place. Portions and quality are on point. We got there early for dinner and it filled up quickly after so be prepared to wait if you're going at"normal"dinner hours. Would definitely visit again when we head back to Billings.

Lots of cream cheese and barely anything from the original menu. Decor is nice and staff are quite friendly. Can't always keep up with orders and usually 45 minute wait time.

So disappointed. We used to eat here at least once a week but today they had a sign out about how nobody wants to work. This is instantly a sign that management does not care about their workers. There are better places to give my money to.

Nara has been a family favorite for over 30 years. We've been gone for years from Billings, but so happy to know that is still the best. I just shouldn't have waited so long to go back.

The staff was good, and so was the food.

First NaRa was understaffed, which is the norm for restaurants in 2022 - so they were only serving part of the menu. Second, their menu has pivoted towards very American deep fried rolls filled with jalapenos and covered in siracha, which is disappointing. So, coupled with slow service, only serving part of their menu, and forgetting my five year old's order ...

NaRa has some of the best sushi I've ever had. I ordered their Alpine roll, the jalapeños added a perfect spiciness and crunchiness. My mother ordered the Spider roll, and the shrimp in it REALLY pulled the roll together deliciously. Frankly, I'm not even a big sushi fan. But the crunchiness makes it so perfect. We had excellent service from our hostess, and if you're looking for good sushi and gyoza then this is the place for you. ♡ Although, for some reason on Friday their kitchen meals were shut down. No problemo for us though, we still left happy!

Sashimi is the freshest you can get in Billings. Trust me, I've been to every sushi joint in town multiple times. You do pay for the quality, but the quality makes it worth it.

Took forever to seat us when they had a bunch of open tables, water tasted like bleach and everything on the menu sounded the exact same

We must have stopped by on the wrong night. 2 young ladies working the front of the house were working their buts off. It seemed like they had no clue what they were doing other than just surving the night. We got there at 7 and it took about an hour to get our order taken while tables that came in after us were taken care of. When I ask for a water I was told they were wiring on clean up after 30 minutes the miso soup arrived. I ask for spoon and had to wait so the could get some clean ones. I was disappointed in the service and felt bad for the 2 working the font of the house. I hope they survived the night. Once thr rolls got there they were amazing.

Best place in town to get sushi!

The staff is always very kind. I usually go here in the evenings and there's usually been a 10-15 minute wait. There is a sushi bar, but I think you still have to be seated at it since I've walked up to it on my own and sat 5+ minutes without being acknowledged, until I went and got someone. I'd also say that part of the wait time has been due to tables not being cleaned off for 5+ minutes after customers left. It's not like the staff was standing around chit-chatting though, just very busy. The rolls are more expensive than a lot of other places but they are the best I've had not just in billings but many places in California. I definately love coming here when I feel like spending a bit more, it's worth it.
