This place is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Sarasota! Arianna kills it every time behind the bar and the rest of the crew is always exceptional as well. Food is superb! And love that they easily work with my restrictions.

My wife and I just had great food, Great service, and a great time. I def recommend the crab cakes!

What a nice surprise! I’m a foodie and VERY picky, not just about food, but about the whole experience: ambiance, food, wine, happy hour specials, AND staff. Well, this was our first time here, and we absolutely loved Neat SRQ. The food was good, the wine selection, food, and prices for happy hour excellent, the ambiance unbelievable. So cozy and comfortable, well decorated stylish and classy but trendy. But the best part was the team: Rob the owner, Frank the wine sommelier, Mike the manager, and Luca the waiter. Handsome and personable fellas from all over the US. The one thing they had in common? A love for pleasing people and creating an inviting environment for those who appreciate a great place to eat AND spend their money. A real winner 👍👍🥳😍💥

I really did try to give this place an honest shot, but they went 0 for 2 for me. On the first visit, we ordered the 3 course meal. It took a really long time for each course to come. There was a huge party in the middle of the room that was loud and got very attentive service. I wish I could have experienced the same. By the time we were ready for dessert, we explained to the waitress we needed to leave, and to please bring dessert and the check. She brought the check. We paid. We waited another 20 minutes. Dessert never came. We walked out. No one noticed. Came back a second time for burger night. We ordered 4 burgers - medium rare. They came out super well done. Totally dry and not enjoyable. Waiter came by and asked if I wanted a box. I declined. He didn't seem interested in finding out why I only had 3 bites of the burger. We won't be coming back a third time.

What a great place! They probably have the best burgers & fries in town, not to mention their other offerings. The daytime bartender, Laura, is so personable and she keeps you informed of the specials and upcoming events. Whether you go in for lunch with Laura or grab a group for dinner & entertainment at night, you won't be disappointed.

Went out for dinner before we left on our anniversary week. Ordered a Cosmo. It wasn't good, too sour. Returned it was completed reimbursed without issue. Ordered a Jameson instead. My dinner was good, but my husband Ordered their Rib Special For $10!!. It was great! When we were leaving owner asked me how it was and I said good. He said, you didn't say great, so what can we do better? I told him about my Cosmo and before I could tell him they made it right, he offered us free drinks. We explained we had to get home to pack for our anniversary. He said wait here. Then he brought a bottle of champagne for our anniversary. Talk about Above and Beyond!! That's what makes me loyal. Great customer service. Old Review Was out with freinds and it was late, so we thought we'd grab a quick bite of Mexican. Unfortunately, even though website said they were open till 9, when we showed up at 8:40, they were completely closed with chairs up and all. So we noticed a little restaurant called NEAT in same shopping strip. What a great find. Varied menu, good prices and great food. Service by Oliver was excellent. Will be back for sure.

Drinks are great services is great. We really wanted to like it more but the food is pretty bland and tasteless. I’m hoping they’ll get a new chef and really step up their game. Wanna keep coming back to this place

I wanted to be sure I would get a good table for a Thursday night, so I made a reservation a week before the date I wanted. This was going to be an Anniversary celebration, and I made sure that was noted because I wanted to surprise my wife. Before we arrived at Neat SRQ, I stopped to pick up some friends who would be joining us: another surprise for my wife. We arrived at seven, and I identified our party and stated we had reservations for an Anniversary dinner . As we were escorted to the possibly worst table, I had a premonition this evening was not going as I had hoped. I was right; I was horribly right. We waited for fifteen minutes before a server arrived. We ordered drinks. The ladies ordered White Cranberry Cosmos, and the men ordered Bourbon, Angel's Envy if they had it , chilled, no ice. Twenty minutes later the drinks arrived, but the server had no idea of what was in them. Our original server returned to take our meal orders. My wife ordered the prime filet, while I ordered the Burnt Butter Bourbon Honey Salmon. I don't recall what our friends ordered. We told the server all of us would be having the lava cake for desert. Previous experience in other restaurants had taught me that it was best to let the chef know from the start as it could take time to prepare lava cake. The server vanished and did not even ask my wife how she wanted her steak cooked. Our food arrived about eight thirty. We were upset as we had observed other customers, who had arrived after us, were being served while we waited and waited and waited. The manager discovered us as he was making the rounds. We told him we were upset but he just smiled and moved on. There seemed to be several "regulars" as he stopped at there tables and chatted and spoke to servers who then appeared to take care of their needs. Our party had no major issues with the food which most enjoyed. It was approaching nine and the restaurant was close to empty. When we inquired about our deserts, we were asked what deserts? I'm sure the evening could have been worse but I'm not sure how. I apologized to friends for the disaster. I don't believe I will return, ever.

This has been on our list of must try's for quite sometime. Although it's tucked away and you probably wouldn't know it was there, unless you knew it was there it was great!! Super cool atmosphere. The bar area was bumping when we walked in. Loved the decor. Immediately greeted by our server, Monica, who was FABULOUS from start to finish. She told us about her favorites on the menu as well as a few of their daily specials (hello Wednesday 😉) Food was great! Daily specials and happy hour look amazing and we will definitely be spreading the word. Hidden gem for sure.

Alex was amazing when it came to our table service during the height of their busy time. We appreciate her attentiveness and we hope this review gets her the raise she deserves!

What a NEAT surprise. Was in south Sarasota for a trip to Costco and have heard about this place. Glad we stopped by. Nice menu options and made me wish I still enjoyed some spirits and adult beverages. They had a nice selection. First. Service here is not fancy but fantastic. We were there before the rush and after years in the business you can tell when the servers are good. Lots of conversations at the tables. The whole staff here are happy and tentative. The owner Rob even stopped by while he walked through checking on the customers, when was the last time you had that touch in Sarasota?? Well of course Pietros. Check out the Italian Grill across the street. Rob owns that also and is going to close for a couple of weeks. Can’t wait to try that place. The highlight was Monica. What a genuinely nice person. Flowed with our evening. Great descriptions of food On time. Not pushy. And did I say nice. Maybe that’s why everyone was happy because they work with her. I don’t know. Was just very thankful to have someone that cares. Thank you. Food was good. My wife had their bourbon salmon and the moment they sat it down you could smell the sauce. I’m not a big salmon guy but I was jealous. I had the filet sandwich. High end beef with both mozzarella and a cheese sauce. They have a cool little speakeasy in the back and I look forward to going back and trying some of their numerous apps. Please support this place. It’s a nice change to the normal Sarasota dining experience.

Awesome dinner, filet steak and cheese was awesome! Staff were incredible, we came in from a late arriving flight with three young kids starving and they were so amazing. Got food lightning fast and they had a dj playing music, the kids loved it. The kids also commented it was the best kids menu (paper) they had ever seen. Lots of drawing with crayons, kept them busy which allowed us to enjoy a cocktail!

The food was beyond good! Matt the chef is phenomenal! $20 full rack of ribs is a steal when they are worth double! The atmosphere is sleek and modern, living up to the Neat culture! It's a must try for Sarasota!

Stopped in for the first time after work and was immediately greeted definitely a plus. Our server Monica was great kept up with our drinks and making sure we had everything. We had ordered a few different appetizers and they were delicious. We definitely will be back. Thank you for a relaxing after work get together.

From the second we walked our experience was elevated by the highly attentive staff. The vibe was a clean, fresh and hip restaurant with cool house music with Neat* cocktails. Well dressed young servers never missed a beat to make us feel well taken care of. Every table got homemade chips and a delicious house ranch which set the tone for the following dishes. The French Onion soup was a perfect start to our dinner and We finished with the Tuesday burger special to leave room for more cocktails and martini’s. We both thought our first experience was top notch and we will be returning to try the rest of the menu.

Went there tonight with my husband and another couple. We had initially gone in to check out the wine tasting night but ended up just sitting in the bar area and having some cocktails, appetizers, and my husband and his friend both enjoyed the $7 Tuesday night burger special. Everything was wonderful, from the ambience, the drinks, the food, and down to the service. Arianna (hopefully I have her name right) was our server and she did an excellent job, took wonderful care of us, and the manager stopped by a few times and not only asked us how it was but how we thought they could make it better. Great experience and can't wait to go back and have a full dinner there soon, would definitely recommend you check it out!

My husband and I had a fabulous experience at Neat SRQ! Our server Monica was such a sweet heart and so attentive, we’d love to be seated with her again. Mike the manager was so welcoming and crafts one of the best margaritas I’ve had in Sarasota. The food was great as well. We’ll most certainly be back!

What an excellent restaurant - The food is phenomenal. The drinks are fantastic. Great happy hour specials. I was also surprised that there was a speakeasy specializing in wine and bourbon in the back. I hear they have great live music too, which I can't wait to check out.

Menu items are not as described. Chicken cordon bleu indicates seasoned ham. It was rectangle slices of lunchmeat! I also ordered the ricotta cheesecake with cherries to go It had four blueberries and half of strawberry. Definitely not as described. Drinks were good but also inconsistent my husband ordered two of the same drinks. One came out with a cherry in it, and one came out with a little mini pancake, which is what it was supposed to have. I’m not sure the staff knows the menu.

Love everything here - snacks food, full plate dinner food, whatever you want - big selection. But the best part? Those freshly-made real potato chips! Yikes! Like eating candy! And super great server Monika was another special treat!

This place is fantastic! We just had a birthday party for a dear friend and they couldn't have been more accommodating! Our waitress, Alex, was phenomenal and was able to move our drinks from the bar into our dining room and still keep 13 separate tabs. We may have been a little too loud for some of the customers but most of the people in the restaurant and bar got up and danced with us to the awesome DJ! Both the food and the drinks were excellent and not too pricey, and both the manager (Mike) and the owner (Rob) were incredibly attentive. This was my first time at Neat and it will definitely not be my last!

Neat in Sarasota delivered an exceptional dining experience for this Bostonian foodie. Despite being in south Sarasota without a car, we found a gem. The rack of ribs was phenomenal, and my girlfriend loved her salmon. Prices were reasonable, and we even received a complimentary round of drinks from the friendly Bronx owner. Neat is a must-visit for anyone craving quality food without the hassle of heading downtown. -Homemade chips as an App with ranch is an awesome touch!

My wife and I had never been to Neat tucked in to a little shopping center called Sarasota Square South. We were greated and sat by the Manager Mike as soon as we walked in the door. It's not your typical bar and grill. The main menu has your normal steak, chicken and pasta as most of these type resturants do. Luca immediately came and took are drink orders. I had my beer but my wife had a N.A. Guava and lime drink that was totally refreshing. Luca showed us a summer special menu that is a three course meal for $40.00. I ordered a cheese burger that was beautifully charred and cooked to a perfect medium rare. My wife a southern fried chicken and grits girl decided to order off the special menu. First Luca brought out a Goat cheese platter and I saw my wife take a bite and her eyes just lit up. She said she had never tasted anything so good. Her second course was a burnt butter salmon that was perfectly done and finished off the meal will a wonderful piece of course keylime pie. I do not think my wife has ever had a a better meal in her life. I want to thank Mike, Luca and the whole staff at Neat for making a very tiring day just wonderful. You must stop by and try this fantastic little place when you get the chance.

This place is now my new favorite “go to”. The manager Mike is amazing and very helpful!! The speakeasy whiskey guy Frank is also amazing and knew everything about the liquor in the back!! This is definitely a place to check out!!

I had a Great old fashioned , actually one of the best I’ve ever had .. , awesome ambiance, I had a blast .. such amazing service.everyone was so nice . I will definitely be going there again . And if you love Old Fashioned’s I highly recommend trying one .

Very good service and food was reasonably priced and excellent.

Not so great. Bar is like a geriatric ward. Food is mediocre at best - though the chips are great. Was third time in, though last time was just for the live music - was super that night. But first time it was so so but I figured that it was because I was there an hour before closing. This time though was 7:30ish and ya, not so great. Seared tuna eh. Worst though was waiting over 20 mins for desert to show up, and wasn’t even made correctly. Oh and lastly, “upscale” is WAY overstating it!!!

Wonderful customer service. I ordered a dish that did not make me happy and the team could not have been nicer. They went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. My husband and son loved their items and my new old-fashioned was great! I will definitely be back

VERY POOR EXPERIENCE - A Wednesday night - no one in the dining room other than us. We ordered 2 Filets Medium Rare. When they arrived, we cut them and found they were very rare. We advised the waiter and asked to have them recooked, and when they came back out (less than 2 min) they were still rare - see images of the “re-cooked” food. The manager did not come over, even though we advised the waiter that the “re-cook” was still unacceptable. We could not eat our steaks, we payed the bill in full ($190.00), received a slice of Cheesecake on the house, and walked out - and we will never walk back in or recommend this place to anyone. We are leaving 2 stars for the waiter only, as this was no fault to him. If I could leave ZERO stars overall for the restaurant, I would - however they require at least 1 star to make a post.

Finally a restaurant that serves amazing and creative food after 10pm! We don’t plan to visit but hen another locally long owned restaurant decided to close early, we decided to try somewhere new. With a welcoming environment, good service, flavorful food, quality drinks and dangerously good desserts; we will most certainly be back!

We have been here on a few occasions and have enjoyed ourselves each time. My wife loves the chicken cordon bleu but everything is excellent and moderately priced. The pleasant and attentive staff makes this attractive restaurant one of our favorites. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Food was absolutely delicious. Had the pleasure of meeting the owners. Loved the atmosphere and service was amazing. Chef Matt brought out two of his favorite deserts. Perfection. There’s a nice hideaway lounge in the back with Frank who has a nice selection of Whiskey and Bourbon. Peach bourbon hit the spot. Followed with Bartender Mike who created another beautiful bourbon drink himself.

Accidentally found this bar because we had some time to waste waiting for an appointment. We are so glad we did! Food was delicious, service was attentive, but my night cap martini was seriously the best espresso martini i have ever had!!!! We will definitely go back for dinner and more espresso martinis!!!

We had a reservation for 12, they were ready for us when we arrived. Big plus! They were very busy so it was a bit of a wait for our food but it was worth the wait! All 12 of us were served at the same time, which impressed me! We had salmon and whiskey chicken. Vegetables were cooked to perfection.

Wow loved this place! Came for happy hour and had dinner at a table in the bar. Nice happy hour prices, food was delicious and affordably priced. Luca was our server, he was pleasant, friendly, and attentive. Music was amazing. We will defiantly be returning. They also have a speak easy in the back offering tastings of whiskey and such that we will explore at a later date. Loved it, put it on your list.

We come whenever one of our favorite performers is scheduled. Our first time was amazing. Food was great! Staff was attentive. A fun evening. Unfortunately, every visit since has been a little worse. The dishes aren't prepared consistently from week to week. The staff seems less and less caring. Tonight, our waiter took our drink order, then waited until 3 minutes after happy hour so we were not able to order from that menu...though we'd been sitting for 30 minutes. He said "I'm sorry" and didn't bother trying to make it right. All in all, I am pretty disappointed. I know others who feel the same. Pity.

We go to first watch often and decided to try Neat with the raving reviews. We sat at the bar and Mike's service was spectacular. He recommended a lavender oasis martini. I was skeptical because I'm not a gin drinker but his recommendation did not disappoint. To pair perfectly Mike also recommended the Mahi special with a devine blueberry chutney. We snacked on some house made chips while enjoying the good music and admiring the unique decor while waiting for our food. 5 out of 5 stars for every sense possible and we will definitely be back and looking forward to having Mike take care of us for sure!!

FYI from other prior patrons, this restaurant has a not so neat policy which will add a 20% service fee to your tab which results in putting you in a rather uncomfortable position when it comes time to pay. It is not clearly displayed on the website or online menu. This can result in an awkward experience with the server, giving you a pressured feeling into double tipping and question a return visit. I’d like to visit this establishment but will not do so at this time. Please help spread the word.

This is the best secret in Sarasota!!!! Omg. The food is delicious and the staff are welcoming and awesome.

A large group of us went to celebrate a friend's birthday recently. Our server, Mike, took EXTRAORDINARY care of us. All the staff were fantastic, and it's clear they care about delivering a good experience! Quick note about the food: everything I tasted was delicious, but I'd eaten beforehand so I only nibbled a bit. I'm cautious about giving 5 stars, though, so I may upgrade my food rating after going back and having the full dining experience. And I definitely plan to do that!

Funny enough I've driven past it so many times going to first watch and never noticed it . Had a mushroom and Swiss for take out , and was very pleased . Good thickness , and cooked just the way I wanted (medium rare) not sure why the lettuce, tomato and onions that came with it 😉 but was perfect . The other thing was when I walked in, immediately greeted and help was offered , meanwhile the entire lobby of people dancing to the band . Very cool environment. Maybe next time I'll dine in ! Mike’s service was fantastic, friendly, and super knowledgeable, and the food was great! Chicken cordon bleu with mashed potatoes and asparagus were delicious.

Visited for the first time on 3/7 and will never return. Hostess (owner? NY, maybe Long Island accent?) was very rude, asking dismissively upon arrival (despite a virtually empty restaurant inside and out) if we had a reservation when I said "Two, please" (for my teen daughter and I), and, then, when I politely said "No" and asked somewhat incredulously, "Do we need one?", 'host'ess answered, "Well, maybe, but not right now." (!!!?), then we asked to sit outside (because the music inside was so loud), I ordered a burger medium rare and was served, literally, a raw burger (in violation of food safety law!!!), but, rather than complain, we 'sat it out' and, to 'top it all off' were getting bitten by small bugs that were by the bushes, all to say I not only cannot recommend but highly advise against patronizing this 'establishment'.

This is a hidden gem! The food was amazing - we ordered a burger and a salmon BLT and the prices are much less than expected. The cocktail menu is well-rounded with something for everyone. The bartender Mike is creative and makes the tastiest cocktails on the fly. We can't wait to be back!

The food, service and music is always great! If you like bourbon or specialty old fashioneds, you have to try this place. Frank Is the bourbon expert and Michael makes the specialty old fashions. This is the chocolate covered strawberry old fashioned! 😋

We had lunch here so gave it 4 stars. Dinner would have given us a chance to add another star. Salmon BLT was delicious and a good portion of Salmon. Hubby had an 8oz burger with their own grind blend. Homemade potato chips with house made Ranch were really a fun munchie while we waited for our meal. We live in Venice so, unfortunately, it's not a place we can run over to on a whim. Sandwiches were reasonably priced and a little lower than comparable restaurants. There's a full bar and looks like it could be a spot locals might be attracted to. Some "neat" special drinks on the menu. I'm attaching their specials for valentines day. You might want to try them out!

Three of us had a very nice lunch here today. Our meals were perfect, well prepared and nicely served. Our server, Larissa, was excellent, friendly, attentive and efficient. Neat is more of a restaurant than a bar, with a separate and pleasant bar area. The menu is great, and we thought quite reasonable. And yes, although we live 20 miles away in Venice, we're already making plans to return.

Eight of us went to Neat last night for my 50th birthday dinner. Ava was our server, and she did an excellent job. She was attentive and well trained enough to not interrupt asking questions during conversations. All 8 of us enjoyed our entire meal. The food was delicious! We met the owner at the end of the night and ensured him we’d be back. This restaurant is worth our 40 min. drive. They also had live music and the two performers were perfect for the atmosphere of this restaurant. It was a wonderful place to celebrate on a Sunday night.

We popped in last night for dinner and were amazed at the transformation of the space from the previous tenant! The place looks great! We sat in the bar area but my wife has a voice condition and is not able to talk above the music. We decided to try another more quiet place. We were on our way out and the manager asked what was wrong and I explained my wife's condition and a second manager came up as I was explaining it. They offered to seat us in a private room! My wife was already outside so I declined their offer but was I was amazed by their offer to try and accommodate us! We will try to go back another time when the music isn't as loud because it looks great, the staff seemed great and we definitely wanted to try the food! I can't rate the food yet because we have not eaten there, but the staff and atmosphere are great and I hope that they are a sign of things to come for this area as the Sarasota Square Mall reconstruction project begins later this year. Give them a try, I am sure you will love it!

Awesome staff. Enjoyed meeting Laura, Frank and Joe Gallo, the Chef. Turkey Reuben was outstanding and the arugula and chicken salad was delicious. Prices were reasonable and loved the tour of the bourbon room! We will be back! Thank you all for making us feel so welcomed in a new environment. Arlene and Don Parsons

Amazing place!! Love the atmosphere, copper ceiling in bar was so unique. Food was great, French Onion soup was outstanding, chef switched it up by allowing us to use fresh mozzy instead of provolone and it did not disappoint. He was probably the nicest Chef I have ever met. Great place. Would recommend for sure!!

Coldest drinks at the hottest new bar in town! Maple Bacon Old Fashioned, White Cranberry Cosmo and Cappuccino Martini are some of our fave’s…. The free homemade chips and dip are also worth a visit all on their own. Ribs are perfection, along with burgers and mushroom truffle pasta. Looking forward to trying more off their diverse menu including a visit for brunch! Staff is all great, especially Marta and bartender’s Michaela & Chelsea. Lastly, one more reason to stop by is the amazing talent and selection of live music. Definitely visit NEAT as soon as possible, you won’t be disappointed.

I haven't sampled too much of their food, but the atmosphere and the bartenders & waitresses are great.
