My partner and I have been pretty much all over Japan for work and we decided to have our anniversary dinner at Nomiya. We decided that we wanted something that felt like home and illuminated a familiar atmosphere as the Japanese ramen-ya’s we’ve spent long nights at in mainland Japan. Our server, Christie, welcomed us with open arms and a friendly/welcoming personality. Incredibly nice and helpful. We were so satisfied with our ramen, appetizers, and Orion beer. Also the pork buns and edamame with that splash of yuzu flavoring was bomb. Thank you! We will be back 💕 It honestly felt like we were back home in Japan and forgot we were in America 🇯🇵

Best ramen I've had in a while. The noodles were perfect and the broth was super flavorful! Get the extra chili oil on the side. It's 🔥

very cute place! limited menu but the broths on all the ramen options are incredible. It is not on the menu but if you ask there is a vegetarian ramen option that is really good too. want to go back soon!

Good ramen in a really cute restaurant and very friendly servers. I just enjoyed my time eating there. Service was great. Be warned--the spicy ramen is VERY spicy, even at "half spice", but full of flavor!

Haven't been here in years. First time at the new location; It's much bigger. The food is still scrumptious. Will not wait so long to return. The staff was friendly. The only downside was being set right by the dishwasher entrance. It was so noisy.

Fantastic service and delicious full-flavored ramen! The only thing that could make this establishment even better would be if they had capybaras to pet!

i have been going to nomiya for years. was almost going once a week at one point. service and quality has fallen off since moving to the new location. i’ve received wrong orders, cold food, clumped noodles etc. then when i actually try to still give them a chance they start closing the kitchen early and refuse to seat us before closing hours listed online. under the old ownership they would sit us until close.

Amazing ramen, never disappoints. My favorite ramen in the city (I've had hangout, little Tokyo, union ramen, Kin when it was open, royal sushi & bar, jinya in BR) and Nomiya is my fave. It is a little pricy for the portion, but 11/10

I believe this is the best ramen in the city. It's really all about the broth for me and Nomiya's is perfect. So happy they're in a new, larger location. But they do takeout too and that makes me very happy.

service was okay and beautiful restaurant. the food itself was just okay. my server forgot a drink and charged me for it but i got my money back for it after asking about it. we ordered the veggie and kuro. the broth wasn’t that flavorful, the noodles were okay. lots of toppings and appetizer was good.

Checking out ramen places is certainly one of my main objectives when I go to a city I've not previously visited, and Nomiya made the list. Situated in a nice neighbourhood with bars and other places nearby, this is one which has pretty decent ramen. 👌 I had a very warm welcome, and the service was excellent, as noted below. Starting, they serve their edamame cooked and then chilled with a citrus feeling light dressing. For me personally, I prefer warm with either soy sauce or seaweed. The buns were good, and the pickles home made, which was great. Some juices from the pickles made the bottom of the well prepared buns a little bit soggy. The ramen - I went for the kuro with black garlic. Broth and garlic were good. The pork was very good and soft. They served with sweetcorn that was chilled and cooled the broth, which was not hot enough then moving forward for me, but this may be a local thing. The chilli oil was not as one would expect, that being slick and oily, and was more of a siracha style but tasty and homemade and great the bottom. Service was great, in fact faultless, to be fair, and this was something that one ought to take into account, though, and there was a good atmosphere overall. This is worth a visit and a good local place. You're supporting the right sort of restaurant. They make everything just about right, but just a touch more care is needed in my view.

I had a great time at Nomiya! I got the pork tonkotsu ramen with seaweed and fish cakes added, and it was delicious! The sweet braised pork was tender and perfectly seasoned, and the broth was rich and delicious. It was the perfect warm meal for a rainy day, and definitely worth the drive though the flash-flooded streets afterwards. The food was brought to us very soon after ordering, and the service was wonderful. We were given free candies for desert! The restaurant was very nicely decorated as well, with murals on the walls and lanterns hanging from the ceiling. The bathrooms were ramen themed too, and they were absolutely adorable. I would definitely recommend Nomiya!

I'm in love with this place! Wonderful little ramen shop located in the garden district. The menu is small and manageable like it should be, simple to order and know what you want, with incredible flavors. I had the pork buns and kuro ramen this time around and it was outstanding! I loved Nomiya at the old location and love the at this new one too! Waitstaff was friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. The meat here is so so tender, you barely have to bite it before it melts in your mouth. I love the "too-spicy" ramen, but know it is REALLY hot. If you like spice challenges, this is the one for you! The new location is much larger, with outdoor seating. I do miss the awesome mural at the other location, but there is so much more wall space for other cute murals. I was so distracted by the food, I forgot to take pictures of the restaurant, but I did get this picture of the Naruto themed bathroom!!

The food was good as usual however I waited long after other tables were served. It was just me eating and I ordered my food before all of them. I wasn’t sure why mine came so late. I asked for my ramen spicy and it came without spice. The waiter explained to me that the chili oil bottle is what makes it spicy but did not give me one with my meal.

Their geki-Kara was absolutely on point, went full spice and totally worth it, the soft boiled egg was a great compliment to their very tender, almost falling apart pork tenderloin. Highly recommended for anyone local or touring the city!

This review is gonna be slightly unfair, but respectful. So, I just got back from a trip to Japan where I had a lot of ramen and other soups. I wad excited to try some ramen spots at home to see if I could find an acceptable option. I've been meaning to come to Nomiya for years but life has been busy and I couldn't make it. Anywho, on to the food. I got the standard pork tonkatsu with added seaweed and Naruto. Comparing this to Japan, there were a few things missing. The broth lacked the depth of flavor that almost all ramen spots in japan had. The other big thing missing was unctuousness. Tonkatsu is supposed to be thick and creamy. The broth here felt like they didn't add enough marrow for the stock or something. Also, the seaweed they gave me was wet..? You're supposed to get dry nori sheets that you can either keep dry or add to the broth yourself. My next big gripe is cost. 17 bucks for soup? I know yall are on magazine and rent is high but come on. Most pho places charge like 12 bucks for a bigger bowl of soup. Ramen in and of itself is a poor man's food. Last gripe. I was supposed to get a soy egg and never got one. My buddy got an egg in his but only one half of an egg. In summation, I know this isn't japan and there really isn't any comparison, but you can do better. At least be on par with the quality pho we have in this city as far as value for money.

I’m just going to be honest. When I first found Nomiya my boyfriend and I would go every Friday. However, once they moved to their new location we noticed a decline in the quality of the food. The broth isn’t as flavorful, the noodles come out half cooked.. just not as good as it once was. I think I’m just about done coming here. I’ve gone at least once a month to see if they would improve again but to no luck. The service is always amazing and the staff is always attentive and friendly, but the food has declined and the price has increased.

I brought my daughter here for some celebratory ramen. This was our first visit, but it won't be our last. The service was great all around, very friendly and attentive staff. The food was delicious and definitely lived up to previous positive reviews. I had the kuro ramen and added seaweed and fish cakes to it. My daughter had the pork tonkotsu and added fish cakes to her order. I also had the Yuzu lemonade, which was top-notch. If you love citrus, I highly recommend this drink. We also got an order of the pork buns and the mochi of the day, which was mango. Mango mochi for the win. Portions for the ramen were big enough that we took the rest home for lunch for the next day. Needless to say, we ate well and regret nothing. Again, we'll definitely be back.

I had the Geki-Kaku "Too Spicy" ramen and my son Tonkotsu. All things in the bowl cooked just right. And the pork, the pork. Speechless! Insanely buttery melts in your mouth! Right portion to me.
