TLDR; While we can't vouch for their drinks (we don't booze it up) here's what we thought of the food at Ocean Vodka: "That was the best pizza (and maybe best food, overall) that I've ever had in my life." - My Wife We showed up, unannounced, three crazy kiddos in hand, and were seated immediately by a gracious hostest. She helped us navigate the menu with suggestions, which we ultimately decided on the Carbonara Pizza and Yuzu Sticky Ribs (available anytime after 3pm, I believe)! 🔥 GOODNESS, the food was fire! Like, genuinely one of the best meals I've enjoyed on God's Green Earth. 🙏 A little bonis side note for those still reading: This was objectively the prettiest setting of any eatery I've experienced; seriously try to imagine the best sunset viewing you could find, and I guarantee it wouldn't come close to Ocean Vodka. The pictures I've attached don't do justice, so just eat here asap for the full experience!

This place is such a scam, I’ve been here multiple of times usually with large parties which an auto gratuity is standard but when you have to grab your own chairs, throw your own food, grab your own water and drinks why would I tip 20% on that. They didn’t even let us know the auto gratuity was in there so the first time we tipped on top of the 20%. The crazy thing is that our bill was like 700$ we paid it and then got stopped as we were leaving for not paying. When we looked at the tab we saw the auto gratuity and was taken a back and I think was the final straw. The food is pretty good and the view better. Always check your tab here especially with large parties. This place has let me down for the last time. Please be more transparent with your customers

Even if you don't drink, check out this upcountry Maui distillery. They have a lovely Cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. From the main outdoor dining area, we could see the north shore past Kahului and the central shore at Kihei. The area is quite child friendly, and we saw several families enjoying the grounds and food. The distillery tour and tasting were also wonderful experiences. Don't be surprised if you leave with at least one bottle of their excellent liquors.

We went for an unscheduled tour on a Friday in late July while up in that area. We lucked into a tour starting in about 5 min. It was a great tour and tasting in a beautiful setting. I don't drink alcohol, but members of my group did, but even I found it interesting and fun. Our guide was very entertaining and fun. Afterwards we had some snacks and enjoyed the views. The banana pops were amazing!

TOURIST TRAP WITH HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! I’d give them zero stars, but the vodka was okay. I’m actually a local, but I feel this place is an overpriced trap to take advantage of tourists. First of all, they made my family and I sit in the afternoon sun even though we had a baby less than a year old. There was an empty pavilion with 2 lazy staff members using it to play with their phones and more than enough space inside the restaurant, but their lazy staff didn’t want to accommodate a family of 5. My wife, children, and I ordered overpriced poke bowls thinking maybe the food was good, since the service was horrible so far. I was wrong…. The poke was gray and tasted like it was either spoiled or sitting under a warmer too long. DISGUSTING! I hope the Deparment of Health checks this place out soon. Something’s going on back there. I tried to send the poke bowls back, but the manager came over and told me that I was wrong. That HE and the chef both thought the poke was amazing and fresh, and tried to convince me otherwise. WHO DOES THAT? I sent it back anyway and ordered pizzas that were half decent. At the end of our horrible experience, the manager and server still tried to charge me for the poke bowls, thinking maybe I wouldn’t notice. I noticed, and I made sure they adjusted my bill accordingly. I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN, and I don’t recommend going out of your way to eat there either. The only thing good about that place is the garden, view, parking, and vodka.

I have worked for ocean vodka and I think their spirits are absolutely amazing, but when they are hurting so much that they feel the need to charge babies cover I feel it's absolutely crazy. Also, the fact that they are not family friendly and have so many complaints in the mommy fb groups makes me so sad that such a great company can be so short sighted about their community.

The tour is one of the funnest things we did on our trip! It is incredibly informative and the liquor is superb! You have to make it a point to get over there, as it is unlikely you would just stumble upon it, but it is definitely worth checking it out and catching a tour!

Watered down drinks and very inconsistent service

We come here everytime we come to Maui and while growth is good, maybe it is time to slow down and focus on details. We were there on Sushi night. We had no idea it was sushi night, we even called before driving out from Kihei. I also checked social media since, no mentions of sushi night anywhere that I have found. No appologies, just raw fish with a couple of other options. Drinks were very good but didnt seem to as great as before. I have called the Kula Tai the best mai tai on the island, now top 2 or 3. The lower seating area with less wind is great and live music is nice.

An absolutely stunning place to host a small celebration. Went in the beginning of July, the weather, atmosphere, food were great. Recommend the pesto pizza if you like pesto, and the ribs were good too. Would take family/friends here if they were visiting Maui for the first time.

Must experience! Good for people of all ages! Organic food that tastes amazing! All the staff is friendly and knowledgeable! The vodka/rum/gin tasting was excellent and includes free shot glass which is a nice souvenir. Don't miss visiting this place! You will not be disappointed!

My sister and I went there for my birthday week. We did the tour of The distillery. Every single person we encountered was knowledgeable and friendly. The views are spectacular one side you see Haleakala crater and the other side you see the ocean. They had Adirondack chairs for you to sit. We sat outside ordered apps, pizza and cocktails. Honestly the food was awesome! Homemade and organic. Even if you don't drink go there for the views and the FOOD!! Our waiters were so sweet they brought me a strawberry parfait in a shot glass for my birthday. We definitely will be back on our next trip.

We booked the Pairing experience on our final day in Maui. With an evening flight out we were looking for activities that we could do that would have A/C! This was such a great experience for my husband, son and I. The food was delicious. And definitely the small bites were all items I never personally would have ordered, but would order them again! Having a flatbread and drink from the menu afterwards were an added bonus.The service was outstanding as well - they made our last day of vacation spectacular! (PS. The bread pudding is to DIE for!)

Was there today 6/28/24 and the food definitely gone down hill $22 each for salads on a box that I've had before when they were actually tasty, not the case today😝. Day outside in wind and rain as they got rid of the little outside shelters. $27 for 2 drinks and the server charged me for an extra one. I had to ask for a printed receipt after paying the bill as why would 2 salads and 3 drinks be $100?? We didn't even finish our food it was that bad😳🙈 We are locals and we won't be back.

We walked in for a tour & tasting around 4:30 pm and decided to stay for dinner. The tour was outstanding, and we loved tasting each of the different spirits made at the distillery. The Fy gin and the Brum were our favorites of the tasting! We tried the mushroom flatbread, the carbonara flatbread, and the kimchi flatbread, and all of them were delicious. We also tried the Poke Nachos and the Poke Bowl, which had the best ahi tuna of the whole trip to Maui! The fresh catch with mahi was amazing, too. You can’t go wrong with any of the co tails, but our favorites were the Flight #5041 and the espresso martini (absolutely no sweetness at all, literally just vodka and espresso but we were shocked at how much we loved it). Every single one of the staff members we met were outstanding and provided the best experience. The servers were especially attentive to an allergy that typically causes some confusion and misunderstanding, and they went above and beyond to speak with the chef and make alterations to the dish to accommodate the allergy. Overall, Ocean Organic Vodka Distillery was the best experience and atmosphere with amazing people, food, drinks, music, and views of Maui.

Had a Lapa 'au Chicken salad that was beautifully prepared and very tasty. Definitely have the banana pops for dessert 😋

One of the best views on the island. Great drinks, fun distillery tour, but also one of the best spots to catch the sunset. Sometimes they will have live music that adds to the ambience.

We had an absolute blast at ocean vodka! Our tour guide Joe was informative interactive and so much fun! He really made the whole experience interesting and immersive while being fun and upbeat! He really knows his stuff!! After the tour we had a delicious dinner picnic table style outside with the most gorgeous 360 degree view of Maui! The food was amazing the drinks we had were delicious and refreshing! It was overall wonderful experience. Highly recommend take your family and friends it’s even kid friendly!! It’s a MUST the next time we visit Maui will be going back!! Make sure you ask for Joe!!

What's great about doing a tasting is that you learn about the process of not only making the spirits, but how the company was formed and it's history. Don't skip coming to Ocean Vodka, plus they have a cafe that serves some good food too. It's an experience.

One of the best tours on Maui in a fantastic location. Tour isn’t very long at 30-40 min but it’s very entertaining and the spirits are great! The cafe has super food and the outdoor seating has nonstop views of the valley below and the West Maui Mountains. Highly recommended!

Went to visit this distillery this last Sunday as it looked fun online. However, we were met with a very rude and condescending lady as soon as we parked in the parking lot to find out it was closed for the day for a private event. I understand closing for private events, especially with cruise ships visiting weekly, but it was not posted that it was closed on their website, Apple Maps, or google maps. So, myself and a large group went to visit because for all we knew it was open! The rude and condescending lady told us we should’ve seen the sign coming in knowing it was closed, but the sign was attached to a gate that was wide open! Maybe close the gate so people can see the sign and not be able to turn in!! We had no clue the facility was closed for the day and were immediately met by this lady telling us to leave. Will never return for a tour here and will recommend everyone I know to avoid them as well. For future, please post online if you’re going to be closed for the day. Ended up visiting Maui Brew Co and had the best experience there!

They had a private event and they were closed today. It is not posted on the website or anything and we drove out disappointed. When I called to confirm closure, I was told I needed to check their Facebook page to find out. Maybe I should have checked their MySpace as well. Just unprofessional and uncaring. Would not recommend.

Don’t waste your time or money. Spending week in Maui and thought this would be both fun as well as supporting a local business. Drove the hour from West Maui to only find it closed for special event, although website and Google both indicated cafe and store were open. When we arrived in parking lot, we were met with very rude employees insisting that we leave immediately. Terrible customer service. On the bright side, our large group of 8 did travel to Maui Brewing for a fun tour, and we were able to spend our tourist dollars in that shop and restaurant in a much friendlier atmosphere. A better alternative than Ocean Vodka.

came here for lunch. we sat at the picnic table seating outside. the view of the island is unbeatable. food was served in takeout boxes though, and tasted 4.2/5. was rather windy, so napkins and stuff kept flying around

We had a wonderful time on a beautiful late afternoon with Patty, our tasting guide. The setting is awesome and laid back. I told my husband I felt like I was a an outdoor family wedding with the space and so many picnic tables. Everyone was enjoying themselves. Perfect view too!

We did the tour and sampling which was pretty great! The guide had an exceptional amount of knowledge about thier alcohol, bartending and production. It was a great experience with a crazy scenic outside setting area after the tour. They have live music daily. Like everywhere in Hawaiian don't forget mosquito repellant I was eaten alive unfortunately

What a special treat on Maui! Everybody was so accommodating, the taste and pairing was phenomenal and we actually added a tasting appointment on the back end. Pattie was our tasting host and Chad was the chef. Probably my favorite experience in Maui! The live music was an added bonus too!

My husband & I had an amazing time at Ocean Vodka Organic Farm & Distillery! The tasting was fun & informative. We had lunch after, and it was delicious. The views from this property are worth the trip alone. It is beautifully manicured & lovingly up kept with sincere respect for the island. This is a must do visit. Take your time & enjoy all they have to offer. P.S. we mentioned it was our anniversary, and during our meal, they presented us with lovely deserts in keepsake shot glasses❤️

Pattie was amazing! She was super humorous and spent a lot of time making sure we understood the process of the distillery and the profiles of all the tastings. If you get a tasting you NEED TO REQUEST PATTIE!!

Totally worth it!! Booking the tasting and then dinner afterwards was an extremely pleasureable experience. Our experience with the staff was very good. Staff is attentive and kind. Ample parking. Patty was our guide during the tasting. She is very funny and knowledgeable about the history of the business and about the sugar industry's roots in Polynesia. Reminiscent of Breckenridge Brewery in Colorado but with a stunning backdrop and lots of service! Staff is able to take your order without fuss and they are all attentive. Live music will require a cover charge but $5 is a small price to pay when you can enjoy delicious drinks and foods in a lovely park area that is well maintained.

If you are a tourist or a local, this is a great place to hang out. It has an amazing view of Maui, nice breeze, a good food. I came on a Saturday, and the had live music. It was a great vibe!

What a gem this place is! We had an incredible time taking the tour with Patty being our guide, then staying for dinner, drinks and live music by Nevah Too Late. Watching an amazing sunset was a bonus! Overall the food was delicious too!

We started coming to Ocean when they were producing only their vodka and had a small herb garden that you could pick from for a touch of light flavoring (I liked adding the lavendar!), the next visit they had vodka and rum... each visit we have seen an evolution. Love coming back year after year. Great tour, friendly staff, beautiful sceneries!

My wife and I had a great experience there. Macy, the young lady who greeted you, there was a wealth of information. Had a couple of drinks and some food. Highly recommend anyone going to Maui to visit this location. Don't forget to take a few bottles of Brum, rum, vodka and gin. We enjoy taking a few for our collection wherever we may go.

Excellent all around here in the up country of Maui! Great friendly staff from Sarah inside the gift shop to Joe who led our tour they were knowledgeable about everything rum to vodka! Joe was a pretty cool guide who helped us understand the ins and outs of the distillery process they use. Joe’s very passionate about his job and you can sure tell! It was a great experience getting to know the up country vibe and the beauty is stunning!

We did a tasting tour with Sarah who is so fun and thoroughly explained every aspect of the brewing process all while doing it with the best sass and comedy that you’ll only find from her with just the right dash of sweetness! We absolutely love this place and everything it has to offer. The food and drinks are top of the line. The service is exceptional. We took our second tasting tour which was hosted by Sarah. She has a passion for the Ocean story and shared that passion with her charming personality and knowledge of the vodka, rum and gin. Simply an excellent experience. Thank you Sarah!

First, let me say we got there like probably 5 to 10 minutes late. When we checked in she was accommodating and gave us an option to move the time slot. The tour was informative and if you’re in the area I recommend it. Afterwards , we decided to eat lunch. With organic foods, you can taste how fresh everything came out. Like their employee said “from Farm to Barn.” The menu also had infuse spirits within the food. The food we tried were the deviled eggs which was infused with spirit, uncle’s favorite flatbread, pizza, and the burger. We finished with an infused spirit bread pudding. Overall I enjoyed my time and the view was spectacular. If I am ever in the area, then I will come back.

My last meal in paradise truly lived up to expectations. I reluctantly boarded my flight home that night, after a truly delicious spread on the picnic tables. We watched the sun go down, listened to mellow live jazz, and sipped cocktails. I will be back as soon as I can manage!

Most amazing location. Absolutely beautiful. We did a tasting tour with Patti that was informative, fun, and super delicious. Their vodka is great and the rums (they make rums!) are incredibly tasty. Sitting out with delicious cocktails and eating frozen banana pops dipped in chocolate and macadamia nuts was the perfect end to a perfect day. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed my visit to the Ocean Distillery today! We did a tasting with our host Patty who was very informative, funny, kind and accommodating. We stayed afterward to enjoy the expansive grass area with picnic tables and a great view of the area. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful; food was great and the cocktails we chose were tasty, using the spirits we tasted. Highly recommend the distillery for a fun and relaxing time!

Great spirits, Great atmosphere, amazing customer service. Stumbled in with my fiance on our last day in maui and got lucky to have the opportunity to get to have a private tasting with Sara. (due to nobody else making a reservation) she made the experience way better then we could have ever hoped for. After we stayed for sushi hour and live music. Definitely earned a customer for life.

I come to Maui regularly and am disappointed in myself for not making it up here sooner! The place is absolutely amazing. The tasting experience and café we’re both top-notch. They also have some very cool merchandise for really reasonable prices. The food and spirits were both very tasty, and the staff were friendly, knowledgable and had a good sense of humor. I highly recommend making the trip up to Kula for this sweet spot!

We took the tour on 4/14. Let me say it was a DELIGHT! Not only was Sarah an AWESOME guide, she knows it all! We learned tons of spirit facts. My favorite is the vodka but a very close second is the dark rum! Sarah, thanks for a super experience!

A visit to Ocean Vodka is mandatory on every trip of ours to Maui. The food alone is some of the best on the island. Everyone is so nice. We had several servers, Eva was just a love! HIGHLY recommended. And churros, did I mention churros???

It's extremely clear these guys didn't develop this concept well. For a distillery - the display of their craft is incredibly sub-par in that the drinks are so weak that they rival what I would compare to an overpriced La Croix. The site is a huge lawn with picnic tables, string lights, and the food is served in to-go boxes YET they make it clear they want you to pretend you're at a high class restaurant. Please just act like you're not at a food truck taproom, and be ok spending way too much money on your fast food quality dining experience. All of that aside (remember, it's literally a giant yard with picnic tables), we were told -- not at all kindly -- that our kids weren't allowed to run on the grass as we were to treat the space as a "high class dining experience". If you have to tell that to everyone who enters, might not be true We pride ourselves on being parents who watch our kids and they behave really well in public settings - yet we were closely watched/reprimanded and shamed when our kids did anything but sit quietly. They make good spirits. But they are clearly newbies at the dining experience/tour experience. All in all, for our $500 price tag, do yourself a favor and go literally ANYWHERE ELSE on the island.

Kristen was fabulous as our tour guide. Great history told by her of the distillery. The grounds were well manicured and the staff shared gracious hospitality shined. Kanani Gilman was a great hostess at Oceans. I highly recommend this tour. BTW the food was to die for. Fantastic and delicious. 🤙🏽🤭😝

Had a nice experience on the tasting tour. Very informative and fun tour. Patty was knowledgeable, and her sense of humor was fun. 6 different tastings of vodka, rum, and gin are all very distinct and flavorful.

From Maui and been to oceans often. The view and location is great. Tours are great done them three times just because the tour guides are a lot of fun. Restaurant area used to be great. The last 4 times consistently the food is hit and miss. Drinks are watered down. Everything is in paper boxes. No worries and no big deal. Inflation and costs are tough. But now it’s expensive compared to other options. Heaven forbid you have kids and they want to walk on the huge grass lawn. I saw parents walking in the grass holding the kids hand getting scolded. Our kid walked from the table to the water station and was scolded. They have a sign out at the entry that says this is a restaurant not a park. Hey if you came and hanged out without buying anything and left ya I get it. But don’t build a restaurant to look like a park then yell at everyone for enjoying it. I’m only writing this in the hopes management can let people use the big lawn or get rid of it. And maybe just maybe pour a decent drink and not overcook the food. Oceans used to be great. Hopefully they will turn it around.

They've done so many improvements during the pandemic. Love all the outdoor seating with views and the live music.

We visited Ocean Vodka on April 11th, 2024 and had a great experience. The view from the lawn is beautiful. We sat at a picnic table and enjoyed a craft cocktail and a snack. Eva and Pua were perfect servers and lovely to talk to. They were very attentive to our every need! Well done ladies!!!

What about the Keiki!! This review is in regard to their eating area. I have not done the distillery tour. The service was ok, but what I didn't like is how they treat the keiki (Children). Do not go with your kids. They have a big lawn that would be great to let the kids play while the parents talk and enjoy a beverage., but they don't let the kids play. They tell them no running, no balls, blah blah blah. So for those that are visiting our island with their children, and based on my personal experience I would recommend you pass on this place.

Always super amazing food, atmosphere, drinks and desserts

My husband and I visited OCEAN about 2 years ago with our 3 children and had a perfect time. They had plenty of room for the kids to run around and play, covered seating, a gorgeous view, the food was fantastic, and the tour was one of the most enjoyable l've been on. Fast forward to our most recent visit and I could not say more of the opposite. We visited again after hyping the place up to our friends, wanting to show off this gem of a place we found... They got rid of any sort of cover from the sun and just have a bunch of picnic tables spread out on a flat area. They have a large grassy area on the side that you would think that your kids could run around at because it's far enough out of the way that there's no way anyone would be disturbed. We arrived around 3 and were informed that the place had most of the reservations at 5:30pm so we could sit wherever because it was pretty empty. We took a picnic table off to the side near the grass thinking that it would be perfect for the kids. The kids brought a foam ball to throw around while we all hung out. Within 10 mins of getting there we were reprimanded twice. First we were told that the kids couldn't have a ball. No problem! Within 3 mins of the first person telling us that a second staff member came over and told us that the children were not allowed to run around at all. I'm not saying my children are perfect by any means, but when we're in public I make sure they're not all over the place. I pay attention to them. I would never let them disturb anyone else's enjoyment. They were well out of the way on the grass away from the maybe 5 other picnic tables that were occupied. This place serves their food out of cardboard boxes and uses plastic cups. It's not like much is going to be disrupted to begin with. Needless to say, we didn't end up doing a tour. We ordered one drink each, and then the wind blew over 2 of our drinks on our laptop and we left. Also, the guest WiFi isn't offered to guests, and they have added on to the area and it somehow ruined how spectacular the view was. Don't bother visiting if you have kids that you don't want to keep glued to your table the entire time in a flat outside area.

We had a blast here! Did a distillery tour and tasting ($18) per person and then drinks + dinner. All was incredible with a great view and live music! A must go when on Maui!!

This location is not child friendly. We stopped by here with the intention of having a tasting and enjoying a few cocktails. Almost immediately after ordering a cocktail and some food we were scolded for allowing our kids to play in the open grass space on the property. We were told that the children were not allowed to do that. After that happened we decided against doing the tasting and left as soon as we finished our food and drinks. Do not recommend coming here.

Should have looked at the reviews before we came. Huge grass area outside but kids can't play. They said to treat it like a nice restaurant, yet food is served in takeout containers and plastic cups. Would have been a great afternoon hanging out and letting the kids play in the grass but management ruined that. Not worth the drive to just get yelled at by management. Also the wifi they're broadcasting as "guest wireless" that I needed to get to have service to look at their menu is restricted and not for guests we were told. Lol.

Stopped by this gem on Feb 24/24. Signed up for the tour and was given a shot glass to use and keep after the tour. We had the absolute pleasure of hearing all the great information from Christine. WOW! She is so informative and you can see how much she enjoys working there. Everyone we talked to who works there was so friendly. This is a great place to go for either a quick tour or stay for lunch, the view is amazing! We unfortunately did not have time to stay for lunch but we will be back again.

We spent an evening in the outdoor cafe and had a nice time. It's such a lovely experience! The scenery is gorgeous and the setup is beautiful. The staff are always around to help or get you something, and there's water stations where you can help yourself. Our drinks and food came out pretty fast, and everyone was happy with what they ordered. I was disappointed with the high prices. I would recommend this experience but with the caveat that you should plan your budget accordingly. Individual-size pizzas are $21-25 each and the drinks are upwards of $15 each. It's all delicious, but be prepared for the cost.

Great view. Vodka is lovely with the Lillikoi juice! It’s organic and it’s great to see where it’s made. Worth the trip. Love the property.

Not kid friendly. Won’t be coming back. This place has changed and no longer the relax vibe it used to have.

It was a beautiful experience! Our Guide, Patty, was amazing and hilarious! The tasting was so good! The blue cheese salad and the bread pudding was to die for! The grounds are gorgeous! Definitely recommend all of it!

This place is a MUST when visiting Maui. The views at sunset are beautiful (but it gets cold and windy). We didn't get there in time to do the vodka tasting, but we'll definitely do it next time. The cocktails were delicious and the food was especially good. All of the servers are super friendly but Cassidy had the best recommendations. Definitely try anything she recommends. We had the ahi poke nachos, kahlua kimchee pizza, deviled eggs with candied bacon and banana mac nut bread pudding. All was good but the pizza and dessert were incredible.

Suggest booking a tasting tour later in the day (shout out to Joe who was our tour guide and made it so much fun!) and making a reservation for the Cafe from 5-7 pm for live music, great food, and sunset views!

Eva and Elijah are fantastic! Also, Jack and Jada also were great as part of our first tour and drinks. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and good vibes. Highly recommend the summer rolls and the paniolo pizza to give you some substance for your tastings.
