I wish I would’ve taken photos before we dug in because our meal was INCREDIBLE!!! The portions were HUGE, so much meat and everything was soooo good!! We got a gyro platter, the fryro, grape leaves and a rice pudding and everything was delicious. This is definitely our new favorite gyro spot!

Fantastic food! The food is overflowing in the container! Nicest family owned business. Will continue to make the drive for this delicious food...try the platters, you will not be disappointed!

Best Gyro I have had in a long time!

Ordered the 2 gyro special with large fries and baklava for dessert. There was so much meat in the gyro, I had to make it a flatbread any eat it with a fork! What ever seasoning they use on the fries …*chef kiss* Excellent !!! Definitely can’t walk away from that hungry , and I can’t wait to dig into the baklava ! Will definitely order again !

I was so excited to try this place, all the good reviews. 1st i gave him a 10% off coupon i got from the clipper. He took it but didn't take it off the bill. Very little sitting room, and you get hit with a surcharge to eat there. Yes the meat is loaded, but with all that meat there's no room for anything else, tomato, lettuce, onion, even very little sauce. I have had much better, even store bought sadly. Too much honey on baklava for me anyway. Fries were the best thing I ate there.

They moved from Penn Hills to Irwin but the food and service is exactly the same. You get so much food for the amount of money you spend and service is fast and awesome. They have THE BEST gyros that I have ever had. I brought a friend from Ohio here for the first time and she has not stopped talking about the food.

This was an experience all its own. I stepped in the door and I was defenseless against the assault on my senses. the calm music in the background, the smell of delicious food. My mouth would not stop watering. After that I couldn't leave without food. I got the authentic gyro and took it home as quick as I could. When I opened it up I thought "I could never eat this much." One bite proved that I could. That was delicious. I want another. 10/10 my new stop for when I'm craving Greek food. I'd show you a picture but I ate it too fast.

Loved this place when they were in Penn Hills, still love them now that they're in Irwin! Same great food and same friendly people, but a much more attractive building. The gyros are delicious and the portion sizes are more than generous. I recommend getting an extra pita and tzatziki sauce because you can easily split your gyro into two. Their fries are amazing and perfectly seasoned; some of the most consistently delicious fries I've had. With fair prices, delicious food, and friendly service, it's always a treat to eat here!

I can’t think of a gyro I’ve had that’s better than Old Village Grille. Finally tried it tonight. Placed an online order and it was ready when I got there. Everyone inside was so friendly, even with it being a busy night. Once I got home and opened the gyro, I was in heaven. OVERLOADED with fresh gyro meat (off the spinner). The meat is seasoned so so well, and was still juicy. Not a dry bite of meat. Loved the diced onion and tomato too (as opposed to huge chunks), and the tzatziki was a perfect compliment. Not to mention nice and soft pita. Can not recommend this enough if you like and crave traditional lamb gyros. WOW

The food was very good. I had the original gyro and boy was it loaded with meat, so much so I couldn't take a bite of the whole gyro. I suggest having a gyro junior, half the meat, half the price.

Can't recommend this place enough! Aimee and Nico are a couple of peaches (or shall i say grape leaves?), and they bring authentic, flavorful Greek cuisine to our community. The classic hummus is delicious! And their unique hot feta hummus brings the heat without sacrificing flavor for a kick to the taste buds and smolder on the lips. We love the authentic gyro, and the stamp card is a great way to encourage loyalty and incentive... like we needed it! The baklava is its own reward. Great food, great folks. Quick with a joke and even quicker with a pick-up order. We are thrilled they brought their restaurant to us out here. Opa!

The food was amazing. The portions are huge! We ordered for my husband's birthday and got the traditional and pork Gyros, Grape leaves, spanikopita and 2 desserts. Everything was packed great, super hot and tasted wonderful. We will definitely be back for more. Highly recommend. And my stepfather is greek. So I for sure know.

***UPDATE*** Old Village Grille needs to make a comeback to the Penn Hills/Verona area asap. I hate not being able to get my comfort food & I miss it more than I could ever explain.****This is hands down 1 of my favorite places to eat in & around the area. Their gyros are amazing & oooh my the Baklava Cheesecake will leave you almost speechless. Their service is always impeccable & always on point. The owner & his employees are some of the best with their customer service. If I could rate this place 10 stars, I would. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to anyone who has yet to stop by the Old Village Grille & try their food.

Just got the crab cake gyro combo - I swear it was the best thing I’ve ever ate (I was also starving). The staff was so friendly, service was great and food was better. Will definitely be coming back and recommending

Great gyros and very tasty fries. Staff was very friendly. They were crowded when we got there but worked through the backlog quickly and in no time we were sitting at their window counter enjoying lunch.

Well that sucks, this place was the only place worth going to in our our area, AND THEY LEFT US!!!!! I ain’t mad atcha though, penn hills is getting pretty bad these days. I hope you will accept our stamps for free gyros though, we didn’t know you moved!

Very friendly staff, generous portions, and delicious gyros. The tzatziki sauce is a different variation from what I grew up with, however, I know it varies region to region. That being said it was still amazing!

The wife and I have ordered 2x from here and both times the food was absolutely delicious! Gyro meat was caramelized but not over done, pita was fresh and grilled a bit, sauce was excellent with bright, fresh flavor. This place is a welcome addition to our community and their prices are fair and affordable. Whoever is running that outfit gets it, great food, great service at a fair price and I've never waited more than 5 mins for my takeout. Enjoy neighbors.

Was very excited to try this new gyro place out. They give you a ton of meat on their gyros but barely any sauce. Tasted very dry without the sauce. Won’t be going back.

TBH it's my second-ish favorite gyro in the city based on food alone and the best on the east side of Pittsburgh (see my other Gyro related reviews) However, when you factor in the people that own it, it's far and away the best place in the city as they are so nice and kind. They recently moved from their location in Penn Hills to the Penn Trafford area and I'm so excited to have a local Gyro. Go check them out!

First time at this establishment and definitely will be the last. I ordered a meal. Specifically asked the owner if she was giving me refried French fries with the meal. Her answer was no .. well as it turns out she lied .. The worst take out meal ever. I guess you have to be a regular to get a good meal. Shame on you.

Been here a few times. The portions on the gyro are fantastic! You'll eat a gyros worth of meat off the thing before you can pick it up. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a 5 star, or ever going back, is the sauce. You don't get the classic cucumber sauce you expect with a gyro, you get their own sauce. I asked if I could get the regular classic sauce, and they looked at me like I insulted them. I equate that to having a hankering for a Big Mac and hitting a McDonalds franchise that decides to put their own sauce on it instead of Big Mac sauce. When I crave a gyro, I can get the same taste in one at any gyro shop but here, and for this reason, I get my gyro fix 3 blocks away at Arby's. It's far less meat, but the taste I look for in a gyro.

Heard about this place from relatives. Where do I begin? Ok the service was top tier, big portions of food so you’ll be satisfied. Quick service I was in and out. A few things were sold out but that’s only because they were so busy which is a good thing. The food was very tasty the fries were amazing, idk what that seasoning was, but they were really really good. Wanted chicken gyro but they were out of chicken so I settled for lamb. Lamb was ok, maybe a little more seasoning but I love the sauce and other toppings on the gyro. The food here is good. But even though they don't close till 8, if your not here before 715, good luck getting what you want off the menu. They shut down the fryers and griddle by 730, so you can't get fries. You can only get gyros, if they have meat left... if the employees need to be done and out by 8, then advertise you close at 730.
