I guess I should have gotten crayfish sauce. BECAUSE my Philly Cheese steak was not it... The price was great for lunch.

The food here at MKM is delicious!

Open Hands isn't located here anymore or maybe the name changed. This location is currently MKM Creations. My review of MKM Creations: Excellent food. Actually, will be one of the best meals and experiences ever(or in a long time). At least try the loaded bake potatoe as a side. It is prepared kinda like a specialty prepared mash potatoe side it all the fixings. It is delicious. I ordered the shrimp plate. I'm eating here again at least once or twice before our vacay ends.

Decent food for decent prices. Limited indoor seating. Nice folks!

This is a wonderful hidden gem!! I HIGHLY recommend this place. We were pleasantly surprised. Momma Kat is so friendly and made us feel like family. Her food is cooked fresh as you wait. She even gave us samples of her flavorful, made from scratch, gumbo. We had fried shrimp, chicken wings., sweet peas, potatoe salad, and crawfish pies. Nothing disappointed us at all. Love it! The catfish is to die for! Love that and the wings! Also the cheese spaghetti and GUMBO!! I love her gumbo!!

Eating at Open Hands was probably one of my favorite experiences of visiting New Orleans. Not only was the food excellent, but Katherine was so friendly. She actually sat down and visited with us as we ate our lunch. It was so fun to get to know her and learn about her hometown! I would go back in a heartbeat! ❤

I had a fried shrimp salad that was delicious

I'm 49 and I don't eat seafood. My daughter is 17 and only eats fried shrimp. We're from NC and decided that while we were here on vacation to say, "Why not?". Best. Decision. Ever. I dare say that no where else could have been a better introduction to seafood than Open Hands!

This was my family and I first time coming to open hands restaurant and I must say I'm glad we stop. The food is amazing and the customer service is perfect, very friendly and I recommend this place the food is amazing, delicious. I will definitely make another trip.

Yes indeed! I hardly catch them open. But lawd a mercy when you do! You’ll find yourself stalking this establishment for their food. One of a kind place. Truly love the food and energy here. Snowballs are off the chain too. On site/ street parking.

Add it to the "must haves" when we come to New Orleans. We had the stuffed fish, and as my grandfather used to say, "If I put it on top of my head, my tongue would slap my brains out trying to get to it." The fish was flaky, the crab stuffing a perfect mix of crab and seasoning, and the crawfish sauce added a rich and creamy finish that would make any mouth happy. Go hungry! This mouthful of heaven is served with the best potato salad I've ever put in my mouth, a side of green peas (to keep it healthy, you know), and a rendition of mac and cheese that my mom and I are still talking about. Ms. Katherine and her family will make you feel right at home. Now quit reading this and go get y'all some grub!

Came all the way from Germany to NOLA and was looking for a homey honest good food in town. We found this place and absolutely loved it. Home cooked food and great people that work there. Loved the stories and conversations. Definitely coming back on my next trip. Thank you so much!

I love my moms cooking because I been eating it all my life but what I everybody to know is my food is like love for the soul. She is nice to everybody even when i know she going through some things. ALL of the food is delicious!! I've known the owner for almost 10 years. Before there was an Open Hands Restaurante there was Katherine Hutton's kitchen. 😉 Some good food and true southern hospitality does a heart good! Go and get you some!
