My waiter was amazing. Never an empty cup. Thank you Robby for a great experience. Food was well prepared and amount was more than I expected. Soft music made for a very relaxing breakfast. Add strawberries and banana to my French toast and got more than I expected.

Quality food, quick service, friendly owners. The many fans on the patio are appreciated. We’ll be back.

Good food and many options. I had the bbq pork sandwich and it was great. Their corn chowder soup was excellent. Service was great as well on a busy Sunday. Visiting from out of town.

Service was average, food was below average at best. “Home Fries” were supposed to be fried on a flattop according to the waiter, but not sure they got warm-not close to fried, and the “light sprinkling” of Paprika was so heavy they are inedible. Sausage links turned out to be Turkey that was not disclosed on the menu. Eggs were horrible. Go to Wendy’s if you’re in this area instead…

We happened to find this exquisite little cafe this morning looking for a local place to have breakfast on Sanibel Island. Welcome was warm and inviting by hostess and we felt relaxed and at home with our wonderful waitress. We had omelets that were beautifully done, healthy and fresh. Breakfast and lunch menus are extensive with lots of options . Family friendly. Highly recommend making this delightful restaurant a MUST on visiting Sanibel !

I'm going to amend my review today, July 23rd. Just came back to Sanibel Captiva and I was so excited to be here. we get here and there's empty tables outside and we go ahead and we sit down. When I was here in may they said to sit anywhere we liked. The server comes out and asks what we'd like to drink and notices we don't have menus we did not complain about it. The hostess comes out and feels it's okay to chastise us in front of the other 26 or more people that were sitting out there. When I said the sign says to check with the hostess if you want to eat inside she then turns around hanging out the door and continues to chastise me from across the eating area in front of everyone. She embarrassed me and put a damper on my day. Needless to say we left and I'm going someplace else. I'll never return to over easy.

We had a delicious, relaxing Sunday brunch with our puppy child on the covered patio. The chicken Waldorf salad over a tomato half was very tasty and large enough for two people to share. The chicken cordon bleu sandwich, special of the day, was excellent with a bowl of fresh fruit. Many Thanks for the lovely meal!

Great breakfast. Great service. Great atmosphere. Wife and I both had eggs and French toast. Very delicious.

The only problem is that we started our anniversary celebration with the best thing we’d eat all day. The orange sweet roll has incredible flavor and is unique in our experience. The only caveat is that the roll was a bit tough, almost like it had been over-warmed in a microwave. If Robby is your server, consider yourself fortunate. He took time to enthusiastically walk us through his menu favorites and remained attentive.

Not bad, but not great. The most annoying part was the hard boild egg they used for the eggs Benedict. Other than that the food was fine just not amazing. Mosquitos are bad on the patio. Wear some repellent.

Hubby and I were driving around when we happened to see Over Easy Cafe. We're always up for a good breakfast, so we pulled into the parking lot. The parking lot is a bit small and pretty full. Luckily for us, someone was just leaving. So keep that in mind when you go. The mugs were so adorable that I bought a purple one for my daughter. Our server was super sweet! Everything we ordered was delicious and flavorful. The pancakes were so fluffy!! I loved my Eggs Benedict. Our coffee cups were always full. I have absolutely no complaints about our visit. You all definitely need to eat there!!

Super hearty and delicious breakfast

We have eaten twice here. Both times the food and service were excellent. Tye grits were creamy and delicious. There homemade muffins are fantastic. Everything we have eaten there was superb.

Hands down the best place on the Island! The menu the perfect with breakfast and lunch. There were six of us and we all loved all of our food. So good! We will for sure be back!

Lovely location but my breakfast was not what I had hoped. Ordered scrambled eggs light.. and they were overdone.. ordered the bacon crisp and it was burnt.. the only saving grace were the pancakes with blueberries and pecans. Our server could have offered water and didn’t.. the coffee not as good as in previous years there. with a strange under-taste.I didn’t complain because I know the island is trying to make a come-back and I had treated my husband to breakfast. I also don’t like wasting food. Advice: when advertising a business as one of the best, make sure it’s up to par and that paying patrons are getting what they ordered and are paying for. Next time we’ll give the Sanibel Cafe a try.

Just reopened and still as good as ever. Definitely still one of my go to lunch and breakfast spots. Has a pretty extensive menu with great food and service. Be forewarned, it does get busy, so plan ahead on weekends. However,, it is a diner and they move fast on the food.

As Sanibel recovers from Hurricane Ian, every business that is able to re-open is cheered. We were happy when we heard Over Easy Cafe was back! They rebuilt their cozy cafe in the same image of the original design. Of course, it is all new, as the water rose to over 6 feet inside the building (6'4" to the top of the plaque on the wall). It is sparkling new inside with the same great breakfast items they have dished out in the past. After all that happened, it seems to taste better than ever. There are lots of elegant little touches throughout the place if one pays attention. Yet, it is simple. Most importantly, the food is amazing. Try the farmer's breakfast skillet, or an omelet. Be prepared for large portions. You'll be back, for sure, just like we will.

We ventured out to Over Easy Cafe just looking for a descent breakfast and coffee. I didn’t take any pictures because I scarfed it down too fast! Oatmeal is always better when you don’t have to make it yourself! My husband ordered scrambled eggs and bacon. They also have a wide variety of breakfasts and lunches…check out their website. What set this apart? The atmosphere and vibe as well as the folks running this little restaurant! I wanted to go back for another meal because their menu looked really good. Next time! They also have outdoor seating for well behaved dogs!

Brunch today was incredible. We knew it was going to be good by the packed parking lot and we were right. A short wait, but totally worth it. Ham and cheese omelette, stuffed French toast with strawberries, and stuffed pancakes topped with Oreos were all amazing. Side of bacon was cooked perfectly too. Their whole menu looks great and I cannot wait to try more. As busy as they were our food came out fast and hot and the servers were attentive and friendly

We waited about 25 minutes on a Saturday morning. They are newly open and the island is showing their support which is great! Our breakfast was good overall including the breakfast scramble, pancakes, and French toast. We were dissapointed with the quality of the bacon and the banana that we were served. The bacon was old and jerky like, the banana bruised badly on both sides.

Best breakfast on the island by far!! Staff is super friendly and efficient. Glad to see them back in business.

So happy to see the "Open after 18 months" sign today! My wife and I had a breakfast on 3/21/24 and enjoyed the pancakes and a traditional scrambled eggs and sausage breakfast.

Stopped there for lunch while on Sanibel Island and it was a great find. They have a covered patio, so you can bring Fido. Our dishes were very good.

It’s great to see the Over Easy Cafe up and running once again. The staff is super pumped. The place is buzzing with enthusiastic customers and waitstaff. Our breakfast of corned beef hash and eggs. and a ham and egg special was cooked to order and served with a smile. OEC is one of the few restaurants open for breakfast, so expect to wait knowing that they are working hard and your wait will not only be worth it, but it will also be appreciated.

We have been waiting since covid to go, then Hurricane Ian hit a year and a half ago, so worth the wait!! Congratulations on your reopening!!

Over Easy Cafe is celebrating their Grand Re-opening since Hurricane Ian devastated the island! So happy to have this gem back in our breakfast rotation! The restaurant looks amazing and the food was as good (if not better) than ever before! I had the French Toast platter and my husband had a Rueben! The French Toast was delicious! My husband’s Rueben (I had a few bites) was fantastic! By far, the best Reuben on the island! If you are an old fan or a new comer to the island, stop by Over Easy Cafe! You won’t be disappointed!!

Love this place! Breakfast is yummy yummy! Just had a burger for lunch and it was cooked to perfection. My boyfriend had the meatloaf and It was just as good as my mama's!

Wasn't what I expected. Don't get anything with their gravy on it...was not good.

TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNTIL Sept 23, 2022 for their annual maintenance. After even more research, Over Easy is outstanding. Friendly staff & customers. If you need suggestions for where else to eat or what to do, just ask another customer, many are Sanibel residents and happy to share their island paradise with you. UPDATE: After extensive research, 25 breakfasts in the past month, definitely my favorite breakfast restaurant on Sanibel Island. Food great every time. Service is excellent. I prefer my omelet made as scrambled eggs-never a problem. Crispy bacon is crispy and extra thick. Addicting! Breakfast, or one of there equally wonderful lunches, sitting on the covered patio IS THE DEFINITIVE SANIBEL MEAL. One of my two favorite breakfast places on Sanibel Island. Sanibel Cafe is the other one. Yes, for once, every single thing on the menu is delicious. Service is great. Wait times can be 30 minutes by mid-morning. But worth it.

We go here everytime we come to Captiva Island. Great food, friendly staff and always more food than you can eat. Great location right next to cute boutiques. A must try whenever you on Sanibel or Captiva.

If you've never been here you've missed the island's best breakfast spot. I always get up early to get a good seat because they fill up fast. Try it. Once you do you'll never have to decide where to have breakfast again. I recommend the Nova Lox 👌

Always have to wait here but there is some local shopping to do while you wait and the food is good. They serve the only cinnamon roll on the island.

Only had to wait about 25 mins for a table at 9 am on Saturday... not bad... Got to check out the shops in the same plaza and before we were done looking around our pager went off. Perfect timing. The food.... amazing. Shrimp Benedict is my new favorite breakfast food. The orange sticky bun is warm and delicious. The service was fast and friendly. Exactly what you want when chilling on vacation.

I ordered and fully ate the chicken fried steak w/ gravy, 2 eggs over easy, and a bowl of grits. Sat at the counter and had excellent service. Food arrived quick.

We’ve been coming to this area for several years and was looking forward to trying someplace new for brunch. Unfortunately, was immediately turned off with the hostess being far from welcoming, and she even hit my leg with a chair leg as she was trying to move an extra chair to a table. She did not even apologize. Our server was pleasant and helpful. The omelet was mediocre. French toast and pancakes were delectable. The country fried steak was also very good. If it’s a place I would consider going back…probably not. For a restaurant at a beach trying to welcome tourists, it was not a good experience.

I saw this cute cafe and wanted to try it out because I had high expectations. I ordered the stuffed pancakes and I was a bit disappointed. There was barely any cream cheese frosting in between the pancakes and the pancakes tasted undercooked. There was nothing special about the cafe.

Unfortunately disappointed today. We came here last year and was very impressed with the food and service. Our server was very attentive- however, after 3 tries with my coffee and getting spoiled creamer, decided to just drink my husband’s black coffee. Our server’s explanation was, “well, it’s been hot”. My fault, I guess I should have asked for some not on the table? My Mexican omelette was also overdone, but edible. Maybe just an off day🤷🏻‍♀️

Better than hotel breakfast but not by much! Honestly I wish I’d saved myself $60.00 and ate at the hotel but the reviews said this was good. I guess those reviewers have not had good breakfast before because this was among the worst breakfast I’ve ever had! The eggs were runny the biscuit was burnt! My wife’s English muffin was soggy and my sons pancakes tasted like they were microwaved! The coffee was burnt and quite bitter! I ended up drinking my water because I couldn’t stomach the bad coffee! Giving it three stars because it’s a step above hotel breakfast well honestly I’ve had better hotel breakfast!

My wife and I stopped for breakfast and it was absolutely fantastic. Portions were nice the food was flavorful. The staff were friendly and attentive even with it being extremely busy. When we arrived there were two seats available at the bar area which we took. As we talked and ate, we watched the workers and they were like a well oiled machine. The people in the back cooking the food we’re very efficient and worked well together. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great place for breakfast.

Awesome place to eat on Sanibel. This is our 3rd visit on this vacation. Everything is delicious and very reasonably priced for Sanibel.

Loved the vibe and helpful staff here, but the breakfast was a little disappointing. Scrambled eggs were a lil overcooked, and it took a few times to get my English muffin crunchy how I like it. Disappointed that they didn't offer whole wheat pancakes, only buttermilk. Coffee was just ok. Also was disappointed that oatmeal was only prepared with heavy cream. Glad our waitress told me, but given current menu trends, this restaurant should offer healthier options.

Great place to get a good first meal! Everything was good to taste and all the plates being served around me looked awesome! It may have a lil bit of a wait to get in but it is definitely worth it. Plus there is a cute little plaza with little shops to browse while you wait for a seat. The seafood options are delicious and the classic where on point.

Theres also a few shops connected to the restaurant that will help you pass the time should there be a wait (which there usually is). Stop in for breakfast the next time you’re on Sanibel or Captiva. Not just the most fresh & delicious breakfast and lunch food you’ll have (even just their biscuits are to die for!) but also the friendliest staff and most wonderful service! We decided to walk out of another place this morning, who were extremely rude about us having a Service Dog with us. Instead of good morning, we were rushed with “we don’t allow dogs” before we could even utter a word, followed by a snarky “you have to wait outside until we can seat you (in some corner). We decided to not grace that establishment with our presence & money and moved on to the nearby Over Easy Cafe - and boy are we happy we did! Not only were we welcomed without question, we got a beautiful spot and our pup was brought water, without us even asking! And while we were served promptly and just loved every bite, our pup was spoiled with treats by the staff. Five stars for excellent good, excellent service and excellent people & puppy skills! What an amazing experience the morning of our wedding. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.
