My sister Kayleigh works in the store, and every other staff member was super friendly definitely like a big family, I love the 7 napkin burger, and the fudge is made in house which I think is the best! Definitely a place worth stopping for a great meal!

This store was excellent, located right around the corner from where we were staying. We got to our house late and ended up getting pizzas and some basic supplies. The next morning, we ordered breakfast. The food is excellent and the staff was friendly. The store has the basic stuff needing you forget to bring something. They also have delivery available.

I saw their signature seven napkin burger on tiktok and had to try it. We picked up a couple burgers after a hike so we were starving. Seven napkins is no joke. This burger has everything a good burger should have on it. A beautiful mess. We cannot wait to be in the area to try more of their food.

Been wanting to check this place out for a while now, and it more than lived up to its stellar reputation Yes, the 7 Napkin Burger was exactly as described: a glorious mess of perfection. That was the main reason for my visit, but the store also had just about anything else you could possibly need. It was a lot of fun talking to the clerk and looking around the store while the cooks worked their magic This place is an 11 out of 10 awesome place, and I can’t wait to return for another burger the next time I’m in town!

Owls Head General Store is an old type country store. A country store with a little bit of everything from batteries, home decor, drinks, sweets, fudge, made to order sandwiches, etc. Rest room available with outdoor picnic tables with umbrellas. They're friendly and bring your food out when it's ready. The 7 layer burger appears to be the #1 item to try ... it's good and messy😅

Three of us stopped in for lunch, which was ok, not great. The "seven napkin" burgers were excellent, but that was about it. They came with a lousy bag of Lays potato chips, which for the price should have been upgraded to some of the good-looking local potato chips being sold in the store. For some reason, it also took quite awhile to get our burgers, even though we were the only people there at the time.

This is a cute little store with some nice gifts. I hope to go back and try the burger!

We went today for the seven napkin burger and it was aptly named. It was cooked perfectly and delicious.

A cute place, pizza cheese was all in the middle none within 2 inches of the crust, burger was good but a touch dry.

Charming little place with fantastic breakfast in the most authentic peaceful environment surrounded by a lovely garden where local neighbors come by bike for good coffee. The store has every knick knack you might need, food, homegoods and even books.

Cute little touristy spot with knick-knacks and gifts but they also have good food at reasonable prices. As a local this has become my favorite place for pizza and other locals love their burgers.

Went there to get some fudge. The store was charming and the fudge was delicious. Not much in the way of groceries though, just staples.

Pretty cool place. No seating inside. They sell a variety of items for travelers. Nice menu for takeout. They sell several flavors of fudge (very good). We had a tuna sandwich and purchased mocha and raspberry fudge. Have several picnic tables outside. I recommend.

A great store to put of your list of stops to make while you're in Maine. Great store, kind of “we have a little bit of everything”. I wish I knew about the legendary 7 napkin burger before I went, sounds like a winner.

The best. Order ahead. Definitely check the deserts fridge and dinners to go. The cakes are always super rich, lovely. The take home meals are lights out. Last week I had the panko encrusted salmon with rice and veggies. A very large plate for a big dog!! Loved it. The baked Mac n cheese is so good, I can't tell you how good if my mother is visiting.

They have a really good turkey burger. This place is the perfect stop if you're headed to the beach and need premade meals, beer/wine etc to put in your cooler.

Best burger in Maine? I'd say so! The 7 napkin burger is the standouts, but there were so many options. There is a bit of a wait to get your order though... but that's okay given the quality of the food.

Nice little store, but the reason for the visit was to try the Seven Napkin Burger that I had read so much about. It was fantastic...easily one of the best burgers I have had. Very messy but very good. Grab a drink and sit out at one of the picnic tables. Will definitely be back!!

It's great to have a small store with great food in town again! We ordered inside and then Maya, the owner, brought our breakfast sandwiches out to us as we waited. They were delicious as usual!

We all ordered the 7 Napkin Burger and it was delicious and the deserts were also quite delicious.They have picnic tables outside that we used.Enjoyable experience for all of us.They have a nice varied menu.

I'm still thinking about the Seven Napkin Burger. It's juicy and loosely formed. The fresh toppings are in perfect harmony with the patty and the sweet fluffy bun doesn't miss a step. Don't get me wrong, I love a good smash burger but it's a real treat to be served a thick and juicy burger.

These might actually be the best burgers in the state! Make sure you get the 7-napkin burger. I think the simplicity is what makes them so good. Nothing fancy, just a big, juicy burger. Make sure you call ahead to order. There are a handful of picnic tables outside but these fill up fast on busy days. If they are full, walk down the hill about a ¼ mile and sit on the dock.

If you are coming through Owls Head village around lunch time, you must stop at the general store for the burger. It really is quite good. If you're staying in Owls Head, it's amazing what they manage to keep in stock. Also, the Owls Head coffee blend is the best around.

Great little general store with nice selection of goods. Great sandwiches. Our family all enjoyed everything they ordered from the 7 napkin burger to the BLT to the Turkey Julia. The outdoor seating was nice. They actually keep the tables clean, and it is shaded. Very friendly folks and quick service. Did not have the fudge, but it looked delicious. There is a lot to do around there as well from the Owl's Head Lighthouse to the free beach access. Loved it.

If you are in the greater Rockland/Owls Head area, this is a must do detour. It's a tiny place with both gifts and a small amount of amenities for travelers. Best of all is the food. We had a takeout dinner and had the iconic Seven Napkin burger. Seating is only outdoors or available for takeaway.

This place was AMAZING! The grilled cheese was so so so so so glad. We got cake also that was delicious. My boyfriend got the 7 napkin burger that had some of the best beef we've ever had. Inside was so so so cute and the employees were super duper nice!

Sweet little place, great coffee and friendly staff

Earlier, I wrote about how much I was looking forward to enjoying a 7 napkin burger after reading that the store was back in business. It was closed in the summer of 2019 which was the last time I was on the mid-coast. I have to say that the 7 napkin was better than I remembered and during the course of my one week stay I had a 7 napkin three times. Kudos to the new folks and thank you for keeping this great burger available. See you next summer.

Nice stop for lunch and a bite to eat

This right here is a textbook hidden gem that was recommended to me by my coworker. While there were many things on the menu that interested me and my coworker, we opted for a pair of different burgers. He got the Seven napkin burger and I got the Turkey burger. Both came out tasting wonderfully and we were both quite pleased with the result. I highly recommend anyone in the area come grab some lunch here!

I got the famous 7 napkins burger and it was pretty good. A bit disappointed about the size but prob because my hope was way up when my family bragged about this place. I like how there are seats outside while you are waiting for your meals. I had a chance to try my wife’s Turkey Julia’s (a Reuben sandwich) and it was really really good so I will be getting that next time.

One downside—we waited about half an hour for the food, as it was a beautiful day and several other families were ordering picnic lunches. Worth calling in your order ahead if you know what you want. We’ll definitely be back!

7 Napkin burgers are the best! Good 1/3 lb hamburger with lots of toppings on a lightly grilled bun. Unfortunately they can only do basic sandwiches and no fries or onion rings, which would really elevate the quaint place. Great homemade fudge also. Haddock chowder is good. On the thinner side if one likes that. Loads of potatoes and haddock but on the bland side. Add some salt, pepper, and chive for flavor.

Great fudge and coffee! A wonderful idea for a late morning stop.

Truly a general store. Little items you forgot and need to tools. Fudge and local gift items. Bit their menu is great. I highly recommend the 7 napkin burger. The pizzas looked great. Stop in and you will be very pleased.

The general store is a small store, which has a little bit of everything along with some real nice local gifts and souvenirs all related to owl head area and light house. They have small selection soft drinks, wine and craft beers. The also have amazing food. One their signature items is what they called Maine’s Famous Seven Napkin Burger, which was amazing, juicy with a super tasty bun. Which really hit the spot. They store has a small selection of local fudge, cookies and other small tasty items. The store is small super clean, they have a small shady sitting area. You can also place your order and bring along for a picnic at the light house.

We had the seven napkin burger - they were good burgers, and I would get it again if in the area but I'm not sure I'd call it Maines best burger.

Great little general store with small inventory of kids books, gifts, tools, office supplies, groceries and -- most notably -- a grill. Down East magazine called the 7-Napkin Burger one of Maine's 30 best; that has to be right. It was cooked to order and certainly the juiciest I ever recall eating. Delicious. The Turkey Ruben on marbled rye was also fantastic (lots of thousand island, which I appreciate). Homemade fudge was also a hit with the family. Nice outdoor seating with picnic tables. Also has maybe the U.S.'s most picturesque post office next door, with a "private" garden and lounge seating for "post office guests only." I don't know what that means but I love it. Small-town Maine quirkiness and charm.

Great little spot to grab lunch and take it to the lighthouse beach! The seven napkin burger was delicious (and there were napkins to spare ), the haddock chowder was great, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. So glad we drove past and looked them up!
