Absolutely love this place! The food was great; atmosphere wonderful; staff really nice. Best restaurant experience of our entire stay.

Excellent seafood eaten on a pier with a perfect view of the Union River Bay. You can even tie up your boat (or kayak) to eat. Not many spots can top that! Unfortunately, their neighbors to each side are not so pleasant. Update: Pier removed by storms in early 2024.

The LOBSTERS here is the best!!! We tried the soft and hard shells type of lobster. The bread and corn was already included (you can make your own lobster roll). The oysters, clams and clam chowder was authentic and very delicious. 😊 The view is amazing and you can relax while you’re eating. Your money is worth spending for.

Delicious, fresh lobster bisque! Lobster roll, absolutely fresh and taste great! Onion rings were delicious as well. Beautiful view, looks clean. Highly recommend!

Best lobster roll I have ever eaten

Outdoor dining, good food, good service. Small hometown eatery.

We came on a recommendation from our rental house. It was busy when we got here but got seats at the high top, bar area looking out over the water. We had our first of many blueberry sodas here. The seafood was fresh. Unfortunately they ran out of the blueberry pie dessert.

Atmosphere gets a 10 of 5! Some day’s are very busy, but it is always great lobster and shellfish. The bisque is pleasingly spicy. Even the coleslaw is yummy. BYOB or have a soft drink. Who wants to have lobster in a parking lot on Rt 1 when you can have it on a pier with a lovely view? Take a stroll or bike ride on Newbury Neck to work up an appetite.

The lobster meat salad in the lobster roll was excellent. It was not chunks of lobster meat like you night find in other lobster rolls but more of a shredded lobster meat. Nicely dressed. Quite tasty indeed.

This place is legendary for a reason. The fresh lobster, the views,the friendly service. It is all of that and more. That's why the locals go here. I visited with a friend that lives in Blue Hill. I was not disappointed.

A bit out of the way but probably why it’s so good. Can’t think of a better way to spend Sunday morning than sitting on a table on the dock, with fresh coffee and lobster omelet.

I ordered onion rings to go with the lobster roll back. They arrived cold. I didn't eat any of them but the server just ignore the fact that they were not eaten.

I’ve been here twice now and both times the food was excellent! We’ve had the lobster dinner, the broiled scallops (which you order by the number of scallops that you want), the cowboy burger (which is a burger with lobster and cheese on it), and the blueberry pie. The lobster has always been great! I tried the scallops this year and they were big,really fresh and tasted awesome. They even gave me two extra for free! My son had the cowboy burger and really enjoyed. The blueberry pie is really delicious….Maine blueberries are the best! The service is always really good and the people that work here are very friendly. You eat on a pier above the water and they have covered seating when the weather is misbehaving. It is our favorite place in this area!

Nothing better than fresh lobster on the water…

We had a lovely breakfast on the pier during a rainy, overcast morning. The staff was sweet, friendly, and open to conversation and recommendations for the area. The Avocado Toast is the best value on the menu. It comes with an egg and hash browns! We asked our server to access their rocky beach and explore the water

It was very busy when we were there but the staff were working efficiently and with a smile. They should be really proud of the hard work they were putting in on a hot evening. The food tasted good but the portion size was too small compared to other lobster rolls I had in the area. I also didn't like that it was a shredded lobster salad. I prefer bigger chunks of lobster and more of it for $35.

Best lobster roll I have ever had. And eating it on the dock watching the boats come in was even better. A little disappointing that they will not serve a glass of water. They sell pricey bottled water. I actually ordered a beverage I paid for, but wanted some water too. But not quite enough to pay for a 2nd beverage.

Really nice lobster shack with wonderful views from the picnic tables on their pier. Hostess will seat you and table service is provided...very unusual for a lobster shack. Food was excellent, we had lobster rolls and onion rings. Only negative is price. $75 for two lobster rolls, onion rings to share, and soft drink to share is a bit pricey. Lobster roll is served on a hamburger bun and is a bit too much bread for our taste.

Lobster served on stale, cold bulky roll. Mussels cold and dry. Grilled cheese greasy, charred soft and chewy. Guacamole tasted like it was from Sam’s club. Friendly and apologetic staff (long wait). Atmosphere great.

The best lobster roll I have ever had! I’ve had many and this is the top of the list. Sitting on the deck while eating is peaceful and the views are gorgeous. I wish I could give Perry’s 5 stars just for the lobster roll. Unfortunately we had a dud of a waitress (I believe that I overheard her saying her husband was the cook that night). She was grumpy and extremely slow to wait on us. Another waitress (who was SO nice) had to come ask us if we had been waited on yet (no) and said she would send our waitress over. We had to ask for our check and boxes at the end of the night through this other waitress, too. All in all it was 1.5 hours for dinner while other tables who had the other waitress moved much faster.

We went here based on reviews but we were disappointed. The lobster roll was greasy, expensive and tiny. I was expecting a larger hoagie roll and received a small dinner roll with lots of mayo but not a lot of lobster. The workers that worked there did not seem to care about customer service. The view was nice though.

Gorgeous view! We didn’t love the bread used for the lobster roll but other than that, the lobster was super tasty. Dog friendly 🐶

Real working wharf with really good food

This place is heaven. The most delicious lobster and crab rolls live her but not for long! Great for kids and adults. Dress warm but they do have covered/heated seating.

A little late in review but relevant to share the most fresh lobster you can get on your road trip hands down. I'm no local but this is the local hotspot for sure. Go get ya some rolls!

Hands down, the best place to get food on the peninsula! Staff is great, service is A+ and the owner couldn't be better.

We happened to drop by this shack and tried 1st a dozen oysters. When it was served, we were frustrated with its looks: thin, no luster, small in size, darker flesh. They were briny but, you can’t taste the lusciousness of the flesh that would give your taste bud to crave for more . Frankly expensive, not worth the money, $4 each. Its flesh was just half that of the blonde creamy oysters from the Bar Harbor Oyster Co. (that’s what you call, finest boutique (delicious, fresh, full of flesh and briny) oysters! We left and didn’t proceed to ordering other foods. Oysters-hunting is always fun esp if you stumble the right ones, that won’t stop you from slurping and slurping its real goodness!

Perry's is one of our favorite places to go! Love it there. Eating lobster outside in the fresh ocean bay air. So yummy, relaxing, and refreshing.

Pretty views and delicious food! Everything was fresh and tasty, fell in love with their unique dessert of molasses cookie filled with ginger ice cream, I’m ready to drive back to Maine just for that Lol they also have some of the BEST sweet tea!!

Drove 25 miles to eat here and even though it said open on Google it was closed for the season.

If you like eating on the Wharf a great place to go! Had the lobster roll and crab claws. They offer the roll with Mayo but went out of their way and made my husband one without. Excellent blueberry pie! Dog friendly!

They changed their roll and it’s a real tragedy considering how important of a component it is. Still a gorgeous place to dine. The clams we ordered were sandy but the crab roll was good.

Beautiful location. Really friendly staff. We had our two springers with us and they were fine with that. Food was excellent. We just had oysters. Lobster roll and lobster Mac and cheese. All of it was very good.

An absolute hidden gem. 💎 Off the beaten path in Surry, Me lies Perry’s lobster shack. It’s appearance is deceiving because it’s more than just a shack. Their food is top tier and the freshness scale is off the charts. We were recommended this place from a local in Surry. We were not disappointed. There is a good amount of parking available. They are dog friendly which is fantastic. It is also BYOB so neutrally we packed the yeti! 🧊 Started off with the clams. The clams were the best I’ve ever had. They were fresh and steamed to perfection. Served with hot butter! 🐚 🧈 Then I moved on to the lobster roll! It was tasty and the best I’ve had in Maine. Loaded with fresh lobster meat. 🦞 For dessert we had the blueberry pie and ice cream. The pie was light and served warm. It has to be the best blueberry pie in Maine! 🫐 If you are staying in the Bar Harbor area and somehow stumbled across this place and we’re wondering if it was worth the trip, I’ll tell you that it is! Attached a few pictures of our amazing view as well! 🛶 The prices were high in my opinion, but the quality of the food overcame my objection.

Great place but remember to BYOB!

7/28/22 Last night our family of 8 ate at Perry’s Lobster Shack. It was a unique experience. The lobster was fantastic —done just perfectly. The corn was very delicious also. The cole slaw was equally as tasty but such a small amount of it. The container wasn't much bigger than a shot glass. Oh how wonderful a warmed roll would have been instead of a dried out packaged one. For the price of the meal these two disappointments could easily have been remedied. The setting out on the dock was very Interesting and special. All in all dinner was delightful and a great dining experience. Jane Nelson from Wisconsin

Best lobster roll we had on our Maine vacation, hands down. Highly recommended by our local Airbnb hosts. It’s not fancy — picnic tables on a little pier — but don’t be fooled, food is top notch. We had a blueberry dessert that was amazing as well. 🤤

I don't know what locals expect from lobster joint in Maine, but I'm a tourist. To me, this meal was a literal and figurative dream come true. Bring money.

Loved Perry’s Lobster Shack! We had crab claws as an appetizer and they were delicious. My husband and I both had hard shell lobsters. They were equally delicious. It is definitely off the beaten path but worth the drive. The view is beautiful, the staff very sweet and the prices can’t be beat!

This is a unique place. The lobster and lobster roll were great. Seating is outside on a pier. They have picnic tables with umbrellas. A waitress will come to your table and take your order and deliver your meal. The staff are friendly and helpful if you have never cracked open a lobster before. They offer guidance. The view of the bay is nice just be prepared for wind. We had a beautiful day so it was very nice.

I have eaten lots of good lobster and never had any this good. Perfection. You eat on the dock within site of the lobsters last homes. This is why you came to Maine. I am a foody and not a fan of lobster rolls but I am now. I will definitely be back!

Great service and food. I had a crabmeat roll and chips. The view of the bay and mountains is wonderful. Eating is on the pier, where one can sit under a tentlike structure or completely outside. It's a bit off the main drag, but the beach and view are worth the trip. After our meal, we visited Pignut's for an ice cream. A stop at Surry Gardens for some flowers and back to MDI.

Loved this place! Located in Surry, Maine, It's exactly what is says, a low-key oceanside shack off the beaten path offering Lobster and seafood plates, along side hearty sides! With limited seating on the pier, enjoy the BYOB atmosphere paired with some of your favorite seafood! From 1lb crab claws, crab dip served with scoops, Lobster Rolls, crab rolls or if your really looking to fill that seafood void Go for the Perry's Captains platter! A metal serving tray loaded with a 2 lb. soft shell lobster served with corn, coleslaw, warm roll with butter, clams, and mussels. Its sure to feed the New Englander inside of you! So next time you're up here Tiny Home Vacationing, this is a true hidden gem you must experience!

I’m sure this place is great. But it wasn’t open for lunch on a Saturday as stated on both its website and Google. As it’s a bit out of the way to get to, it would be courteous for the management to update their hours online so people don’t spend time and gas getting there only to be told it’s closed. Probably worth a phone call to make sure it’s open before making the trek.

Found it because of a recommendation from my AirBnB host. I’m glad I went all of the food was a good price and delicious. The place is right on the water so you can watch the waves and the food came out super quick. I recommend this place to anyone in the area or going to Acadia national park and wants lobster. It’s cheaper than the other places and the views are nicer too.

We found this spot while traveling around randomly on the coast, and I am sure glad we did! Awesome out of the way location, delicious lobster, and you can eat on the dock over the water. Quintessential Maine lobster pound! It's byob, so we had a bottle of chardonnay that we enjoyed with our lobstah.

Just OK. The slow service is easy enough to understand, but the food is just average. When I paid more for their lobster roll I was hoping it would be worth it compared to the less expensive roll I had the day before. Sadly, it was less lobster meat and less tasty in comparison. Its a cool setting but not enough to make up for so so food.

I had the Lobster salad. It was very good with generous portions.

Absolutely amazing little restaurant! Lobster doesn't get any fresher than this! The fact that all dining is outdoors on the pier is very cool, I really enjoyed the view. Everything is also very reasonably priced and the staff are great! I would highly recommend this for any visitors to Maine, even if it's out of your way! You won't regret it!

Great location, prices reasonable for area. Food cooked well. I had hard shell lobster dinner with clams and husband lobster roll dinner. Seated at counter seat, asked to move to picnic table where other 2 tops seated as I had big meal, hostess said no can’t move once seated. I asked again as my food was cumbersome to eat in good way wanted space and shelter from wind, she said no as confusing for waitress. Waitress had 4 tables, 2 open, would not move us, uncomfortable and not accommodating, be sure to get a picnic table when you first enter. Frustrating.

We did lots of research on where we wanted to eat lobster during our short stay in the Sedgwick area. We were willing to drive as long as necessary. We picked Perry's and were glad we did. It's right on the water, with fishermen bringing in their haul as we ate lunch. Lobster was perfectly prepared. So juicy. I wanted to order another, but opted for the blueberry pie with ice cream instead. It was as good as I've ever had. And on a random note, the coleslaw was great. It was vinegar based, with just the right amount of tart and sweet. The lobster was what brought us to Perry's and it was amazing. But, for me, the pie stole the show. Have the pie, maybe a whole one, because you're probably on vacation.

I doubt there could be a more genuine spot for a lobster dinner in Maine. It doesn't get much better sitting seaside, eating seafood that came out of the ocean that day, being served by friendly people in a gorgeous spot. Perry's is the best.

Best lobster roll ever! Fully loaded bulkie bun. Hardly any dressing on it so taste of lobster is not diluted at all. Great staff and owner. A do not miss Maine adventure!
