Take out order. Had to order an appetizer to meet a delivery requirement. Always order pizza from here, always good. Ordered calamari and it was just terrible, very rubbery, chewy and a very nasty fish smell threw it out, also just from 1 ring stomach problems the next day. DO NOT ORDER THE CALAMARI!!!

Got a tavern style sausage pizza with a butter crust. Maybe I went in with mid to low expectations, but it was very good. Highly recommend if you live in the neighborhood.

GOD I do not want to write this because I want to like Phils and I support small local businesses, but man, I regret going back there. I believe I met the owner once, nice people but - I am done with Phils. I've picked up pizza from them more than once. Their GF crust is very good - rice or cauliflower choices. Do ask for extra sauce because mine was basically cheese on crust, it was so DRY. Yesterday, a Friday, about 3:50pm, (not a busy time) I ordered delivery and they said under an hour. Well, I wish I went anywhere else. I gave them the building code, but they did not write it down, instead they told the driver to call but apparently did not give him the phone number. At 1hr and 20 minutes, nothing- so I called Phils to be told the driver is waiting downstairs.... He said he had been waiting just a few minutes and they told him to call but for whatever reason, he did not. He called Phil's instead but they did not call me either. The food was **ICE COLD** and so gross, I threw most of it away. I should have called them. I very carefully reheated it (not so much as to cook it longer) in my toaster oven/air fryer. I am a professionally trained chef, I know my way around food and what not to do. -Chicken Vesuvio (no soup or salad included as typically is w dinner entrees, just 3" of french bread, no cheese or butter) Chicken breast TOUGH AF. I mean rock hard chicken breast. I could barely get a sharp knife through it and could not chew it either. I cannot believe they would send this out. Overcooked to harden the proteins. HOW do you make chicken.. in liquid ..so tough? How do you screw this up? The heat is too high or you are overcooking it by ALOT. -Extra order of Vesuvio potatoes- $9 I don't think they even put an entire potato in there, it was 5 small slices. $9. Are you kidding me? - Italian Beef, asked for not dipped but DROWNED - gravy bread, yeah? This came w slaw and fries. The sandwich came on dry bread, they barely dipped it at all, even though I told the guy "take it for a long swim, a soak in the gravy vat". I am glad I ordered a side of gravy, but the beef and gravy have NO flavor, just like an arby's french dip or basic AF roast beef sandwich. Not kidding. No spices, it is not what I would call a Chicago Italian beef, at all. No no no. They probably order it from food service vs making it in house. - Chicken Wings. ordered them crispy and dry with sauce on the side so they don't get soggy in transit. No blue cheese available. The meat tasted old..rotten smelling, not even close to fresh. I worried I would get food poisoning! HOW could you cook this much less send it out to a customer? Did you not smell the rot? I DID!! The oil used to fry them smelled rancid but it could have been the meat. The wings were not crispy but burned in places while the rest of each wing's skin was rubbery and still uncooked. The meat was dry. Turn you fryer temperature down. Dry the wings off from all moisture before they go in it. Change your oil. In addition, the buffalo sauce must have been bad too because it did not taste right, there was a sour funky thing going on, so I used a bottle of hot sauce. Ice cold fries tasted so gross reheated. Their coleslaw is good, like KFC sweet and chopped similarly. Their Caesar dressing is good but the salad I had ordered another time with my pizza, was wilted and turning rotten. Caesar salad is loaded with parmesan cheese and the croutons were good. Another reviewer commented they do not even give ketchup with the fries. Be aware. Let's just say I went to bed hungry last night. Phils, man, you gotta do better. IDK if I will ever be back and if I am, it's pizza and nothing else. Pick up, because delivery during slower times is almost 90 minutes... for NOT STUFFED PIZZA, NOT EVEN THIN CRUST PIZZA. Near 90 minutes = Cold Food. This is NOT a sit down restaurant, and that is Ok! It is Pick up and Delivery only. No chairs or tables inside, but I heard they are expanding. I am hesitant to try again after yesterday. I wasted over $50. The staff are super nice.

Phils is one hidden gem in a crowded Milwaukee Avenue food corridor. I love their pizza and salads. Generous offerings and personal modest service..just like the old country.

I find that the most reliable pizza reviews come from Chicago natives. With that being said, I’ll give you a reliable review here. The pizza is outstanding! Phil’s Special is the way to go… green peppers, onions , sausage, and mushrooms. Oof! The crust is perfect, not too thick and the right texture. The sauce is so good. It has a hint of sweetness. The cheese is nice, not too much and not too little. The sausage has a homemade taste and was full of flavor. The XL 16” is perfect for a family 4-5 or three grown men. Delivery is cheap and lightning fast. Overall, Phil’s is legit Chicago, tavern style. Fresh, fast, delicious!

6/2024 2* Sorry guys. I just did not like the pizza! Looks great. Tasted not so good. I could not even finish the pizza and had to throw it away. Flavor was just no good for me. Service when I was there was ok. And the atmosphere was alright. I just did not like the pizza. I will not be back.

Ordered delivery and got one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. Onion rings were perfect too.

I can’t believe they charged me 1.50 for a small container of honey. Times are so tough right now I will never order from them again. What a slap in the face. He could have just gave it to me. Does he charge for ketchup also? I got no ketchup either. No ketchup for fries. Smh

We had Phil’s for my son’s birthday party we asked that the 7 pizzas be ready by 3:15 and they were. All the guests complimented on how good the food was I would definitely use them to cater again. Thank you for being prompt and good.

Some of the best pizza I’ve had in Chicago. The crust was just right, the toppings were loaded, sauce was good and cheese was generous. My partner and I got a large and were barely able to eat half.

Loved Phill’s before one of the delivery drivers crashed into my parked car infront of my house causing over 10k of damage and his insurance dropped him, so everything was out of my pocket/through my insurance. But other than that the food is fantastic. I still order from there but sometimes eat it with a salty look on my face lol. Just hoping that guy is no longer driving for them and I will continue to order their delicious pizzas. The cheese is sooooo good.

Phil's has pretty good pizza. I had the garlic crust, but I don't think it adds much. The sauce and sausage was great. Things I'm not comfortable with is they charge a carry-out fee, yet there is no alternative. They are only carry-out. I knocked a star off for this. The people are friendly and pleasant. As stated above the place is only carry-out and delivery. The only seating is if you're waiting for your order. Bicycling: Milwaukee has a bike lane and there is a nearby bike rack. The problem is there's nowhere to eat.

I've tried most pizza places on the nw-side. I think I have found my new favorite. I had tried Phil's a few years back and wasn't impressed. I decided to give them a try and it was delicious. The sausage with fennel is tasty. The sauce is spot on. Pizza D'Oro will be my go to place going forward. 👍

The very first two ordered pizzas were great, but the last one Phily's special was just average ; there was scarcity of other ingredients; it had plenty of cheese and sausage,but the rest was missing. The last pizza deserves 3.8, but it's far from the last ones who deserved 5 stars.

Hands down best thin crust on the northwest side! Been going to phils forever. Moved out of state for a while, and used to crave it! Now back in the neighborhood, have to get phils once a week. Review edit: New owners cutting corners. Changing things up. Raised prices significantly. Took our once a week business to Dino's. On Higgins. Miss ya Sal and family.

I'm done ordering from Phil's. They nickel and dime you for everything with the new owners. First I had to pay an extra $1 for peppers on a pepper and egg sandwich. This wasn't for extra peppers just peppers on a PEPPER and egg sandwich. They they charged an extra $1.50 to have it on French bread which is the way Phil's always made it with the old owners no extra charge. The old owners never had all these extra charges.

Under new ownership. The pizza and everything is still the same delicious and fresh. No change there thank God. The new pick up area is beautiful. Bright, clean and inviting. Love it the new owner AL I think? he is a great guy friendly and outgoing and welcoming. It's like Phil's 2.0 some of the old staff remains. The girl answering the phone Linda is from the old owners she is always friendly and polite and caring. She's a asset to this restaurant seriously she knows her stuff about everything and is always willing to help. Glad she's still there. She's always happy love it. Things are looking up here. It's a Breath of fresh air Can't wait till the restaurant next door is finished. Definitely will be there with the family.

Their thin crust pizza is very tasty. We’ve had several other items on the menu all of which are delightful. Prices are reasonable and staff are warm and approachable. We love Phil’s 🍕!

This has been our family best Pizza for over 20 years, never had a bad pizza, since the new owners took over the last 2 months every time we ordered the pizza has been very different, not good.we have been hoping it was just a one time thing but the last one we ordered was terrible so we had to start ordering from Dino's and very pleased with that pizza. We have gotten pizza and more from here through the years. I always mainly just wanted pizza. The Phil's special. It was very filling. Well in the middle of September I was saying to family what's wrong with Phil's pizza. It's not the same to me anymore. The pizza looked sloppy. Like the ingredients were dropped from five feet in the air. It didn't taste yummy and delicious anymore. That flavor just isn't there anymore. Well to my surprise the original owner sold Phil's pizza. The last two times I ordered pizza we got fries that honestly didn't look like they were even dropped in oil.They arrived cold. If the new owner changed the quality of his food products meaning buying cheaper everything, that's a bad move. The last pizza we got 2 weeks ago my daughter tried a piece after just arriving home and she said "where's this pizza from" I said Phil's as usual. She said it's nasty. I knew then and there I wouldn't be buying any more pizza's from here. I'm done with Phil's pizza. That's it. No more. Try Mug's pizza in Des Plaines. Also one on Harlem and Touhy. Mug's pizza was always my 1st choice just a little further to travel. Had paper plates with me we sat in car and ate some while it was piping hot. SO SO DELICIOUS!! Dino's pizza on Higgins is very good too. To who ever is reading this Phil's Pizza D'Oro on Milwaukee Ave has NEW OWNERS !!! 🤮😲🥺

Consistently great pizza. Some of the best i've had! My neighbor used to bring one over to me every now and again and I got hooked. Pepperoni under the cheese with green peppers on top. The BEST!

A trip back home to Chicago for me isn't complete until I've eaten an amazing thin crust pie from Phil's pizza D'Oro and the perfect Italian sub from Tony's Italian deli & subs. Living in Atlanta now makes it hard to find a crispy thin crust and that good Italian sausage Chicago has. Combine that with the sauce at Phil's and you have a masterpiece.

First time and it was a great experience. Tommy and the guys are great. Pizza was out of this world! A must try. (Currently dining room is closed)

Welp, there is no food left to take a picture but let me tell you it was finger licking delicious. Not only is the food delicious but the customer service is top notch, they are attentive, caring, patience, and friendly. I felt like family. Next time I’m in town I know I will be back. Always a fine and tasty pizza, good dough & crust, sauce and cheese was up to snuff. My only gripe on this occasion was that the mushrooms were especially earthy, overwhelmingly so for some reason. It's still my go-to for a good, solid Chicago pizza.

Another amazing authentic Italian dinner from Phil's great service clean environment hot fresh real authentic family recipes. The only place I order Italian food. Just like my dad's the family owned buissnes is always on point not unusual to see several generations working together mom's dad's kids cousins sisters and brothers and there all very down to earth and awsome and hard working. Stuffed pizza thin crust salads sandwiches and pasta all delicious and amazing

The pizza was very good. I really can't complain. You see, I'm a simple man. I see the option to add garlic butter to the crust; garlic butter gets added to the crust. The pizza came in roughly 30-40 minutes. I'm not sure if it's the way they make it, or because it came so fast but the crust was firm (in a good way) and not at all soggy. The only thing I did not like was the Bosco sticks. They just tasted strange to me. Not inedible of course, just different. But I came here for the pizza not the sides. Overall, 5 stars. I'm coming back.

We ordered pizza from this place for over 2 years at least once a week and sometimes twice a week and they delivered to are home in saganash Chicago 2.3 miles away and it is the best in the area in my opinion. We moved and now we are 4.3 miles from this pizzeria place they delivered one to are new home in niles and we were even paid double for the pizza to be delivered to are new home. The following week we went to order again and they said we were to far for them. Very sad, I had coupons that we got every week with the pizza and when you had 20 coupons you would receive a 14 inch thin cheese pizza. I called them and they told me I could use them with pick up orders so I did. The pizza was great as usual but still not happy that even if we pay double delivery charge of $4.00 they will not bring the pizza to are home. Pizza still is 5 STARS.

Very good eggplant and pizza. Sauce is quite flavorful and the Modzarella cheese is good quality. I must say the food was hot!!! That to me is 2 thumbs up. I will be ordering again. The delivery guy was nice as well.

We got the 12 inch thin crust pizza and it fed three of us. Ingredients were fresh and crust did not get soggy with the veggies we put on. Just right amount of cheese. Can eat in or take out. They have an expansive menu with Italian specialties, chicken and rib dinners.

We order Phil’s from time to time when visiting family in the area. Their pizza is dynamite. Today we attended a birthday party in their private room. Their service is right up their with the food. The entire staff was prompt, courteous, and even mingled with us when things slowed down. Great place to host a party or grab a pizza to go.

We decided to try Phil's Pizza D'Oro, as we have driven past it, too many times to count. There is available street parking. We were seated immediately, as we had called in our order. Our server, Tommy, was very efficient, attentive & informative about the menu selections and our choices. We had ordered the 14 inch stuffed cheese sausage & mushroom pizza on the phone. As we waited, Tommy brought a basket of pizza dough slices that are almost like a tasty garlic bread. We also decided on an appetizer of stuffed mushrooms which were stuffed with spinach. The pizza arrived and it was cheesy and quite gooey. It was tasty. Phil's Pizza D'Oro has a steady business of carry-out. It is also a BYOB, but there is a liquor store right across the street and there are no additional fees, i.e. corkage, etc. The pizza was quite filling and we could only eat one slice apiece. What was amazing was how heavy the take home box was - like a 100 lbs. of pizza, well maybe, less, but it was heavy.
