Following the opinions we read, we decided to meet him and boy did he meet expectations. They have both classic combinations (a simple but well-prepared 3-cheese sandwich like The Thinker for example), and unusual ones (the Mona Lisa that has artichoke hearts is highly recommended). In the group that we went, we ordered both types and neither disappointed. The taste of all the sandwiches we tried was very good to excellent. There are 3 vegetarian options (I especially recommend the Venus de Milo, excellent!) and 3 options especially for children. Consumption is between 11 and 15 dollars per person. The friendliness of the staff is remarkable, very helpful and clearly striving to give you the best possible experience. It is inside a shopping plaza and parking is abundant and at no additional cost.

My girlfriend and I stopped in for a quick lunch and was absolutely impressed. I was looking over the menu and was offered a tour of it in seconds. Very friendly staff. Dropped in after a quick search for places to eat(I was passing through from Buffalo to Cleveland). Walked in and was given some recommendations from the host as I was unfamiliar with the sandwiches. Ended up ordering the Mona Lisa and tater tots with a fountain drink. I opted for the Mona Lisa because I felt like some of the others could be a bit too heavy. No joke, this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in quite a long while. Despite the unusual combination of ingredients (artichoke hearts, baby spinach, creamy pesto, etc), this thing was an explosion of flavor. The artichoke hearts really cut through the richness of the havarti and creamy pesto. The bread was perfectly toasted, buttery with a satisfying crust without being dry. The tater tots were also a big surprise. They were more like mini potato croquettes. Golden brown, crispy exterior, but soft and pillowy on the inside, with just enough texture to remind you it's a tot and not mashed potato. I can't remember the Time I've enjoyed tater tots so much. The fountain drink was fine. Syd's is the local brewer and I tasted the root beer and cream soda. Both were good and had a richness of flavor usually lacking from generic store brands. I'm no pop connoisseur so I don't have anything to add other than I enjoyed drinking what I did, I don't otherwise drink a lot of sodas. The only regret is that I was merely passing through and as someone who lives more than 2000 miles away, I regret that I won't have any real opportunities to visit in the future.

Highly recommend Picasso’s for scrumptious sandwiches! We found this gem at the beginning of our vacation and it was so good that we planned to stop on our way back home. I had the Mona Lisa and it was everything I like on one sandwich! Service is great - we were greeted and explained the menu on our first visit. You’re given a beeper and can find a seat while they prepare your order. Bonus is that they have GF bread if you are allergic to gluten. Local soda brand. Outdoor patio available. Fun chalkboard painter’s palette tables with chalk inside.

I’m a local teacher, and I never been to this restaurant before. However, after a long day at school, I decided to pop in with my daughter to get a sandwich and try some of their items. We ordered and had our food by 6:45 PM. We were eating in the dining room, and just as we finished and cleaned up, a male employee came out and told us that we needed to clean up and leave because the dining room closes at 7 PM. No one told that to us when we ordered, so we were unaware. However, it was only 7:10 PM and we had just finished eating. When I asked why, he said because he has to clean up the dining room . As I shared with him, we would leave, but we would never be back. His response was that he’s just an employee trying to do his job and he needs to clean the tables. Employee or not, I found that to be very disrespectful. When we went to check the hours for the restaurant, it stated they were open until 8 PM. I looked on the website and could not find anything about the dining room being closed at 7 PM, nor did the woman who took our order explain that to us. Now, there could’ve been some unknown rule about the dining room closing at 7 PM, but I didn’t see it and I surely didn’t know that. I would’ve definitely gone somewhere else. I don’t like to spend money on food and not be able to sit calmly and enjoy it. I have never in all of my life had such an interesting situation occur. Additionally, there was another family who had ordered and had just sat down after 7 PM. When they were called (via the little buzzer) to come up and get their order, the male employee told them that they would have to leave as well. He had their food in a bag and handed it to the woman and her children. I was mortified that an event like this was even occurring. I hope that they have a thriving business because situations like this will not have them get repeat customers and the word-of-mouth will be poor at best. I can guarantee them that I will not be going back. There are many places to get sandwiches, and the sandwiches that they make can clearly be made at home. Even though the names for the sandwiches are unique, and the combinations may be unique, anyone can buy those ingredients and make them at home. For me, it was more about convenience and supporting a local business. Although the food was delicious, the service and treatment were not up to par and will never be tolerated. Clearly, my money, and my business was not important to their staff. I could’ve just left and forgotten about Picasso’s, but I feel that it’s important for all potential customers to know about this experience and how it made us feel. With the state of restaurants today trying to keep their heads above water, a business can’t just have an interesting or unique product. They need to have the service that goes along with it. I hope that they hear this feedback and share it with their employees, and maybe try to improve on a clearly defined deficit at that restaurant.

Second time (it's almost a year later) I got the hella Johnson. The sandwich was so soggy the bread literally disintegrated in a pool of grease. There was 1 piece of ham and a couple chunks of what tasted like canned chicken. The sandwich was supposed to have a cranberry Mayo, but I didn't see that anywhere, but it did seem to be drenched in some kind of white sauce. Honestly it was disgusting and for how much they charge for it it was extremely disappointing. I would have given it back, but it was take out order and we had already left town again. Ordered the Raphael and the Lee Roslyn. We got our sandwiches as meals. The customer service was great, my boyfriend said Ray was very nice to him. The sandwiches were literally to die for. Sooo good. Tots and the tot sauce were amazing too. We forgot to get our drinks but it doesn’t even matter cause the food was so good. We are from maryland and are so sad we are so far from here.

Haven't eaten here in years but it is as good as ever. The van gogh to go was a risk for a mess but soo worth it. Wish I had one of these where I live now, but it does give me a reason to come back to Erie.!

Great food. Good prices. Locally owned by a couple of guys who love what they do and do what they love. Owner manned the cash register and was excited to guide us through our first try. Everything was delicious. Definitely will be back.

Mediocre sandwich from people who think their shop is far better than it is.

Edit 2022: can someone tell me what’s BETTER since they moved? I regret coming here despite my last bad experience. Still no custom sandwiches like they used to. Still a 3% non cash fee. Still no yellow mustard like they used to. No chips as a side either like they used to. And the sandwich wasn’t nearly as good as it was in the old location. Goodbye for real. edit 2021: new location nixed the "self portrait". what's the point of all those amazing ingredients if you can't get what you want? surcharge for debit cards on a 9 dollar sandwich? who doesn't carry mustard? I'm sure I won't be missed, but I'm sad to say today is likely my last visit ever here. I'm so bummed as I really liked the food and often considered them a "something special" type place.

Best cheese cake in the tristate area. Yes. Better than Sal Anthony's in NYC, Better than Junior's in Brooklyn and all for half the price of their cheese cake. Sorprendente !!!
