Pirate's Cove Restaurant in Carrabelle - Phone Number, Reservations, Reviews

The first thing to note is this business is no longer known as Pirates Cove Restaurant and Bar. The new name is now Carrabelle River Bistro. That said, our visit to this Bistro was quite amazing. We got there somewhat early for dinner on Friday night and we were the only ones in the dining area. You must remember that this is a beachside bar and restaurant, and is not intended to be fancy, but the place is very neat and clean and the people are super attentive. The service was excellent and Amber was always there to make sure we had everything we needed during our visit. I took advantage of a chef special for that evening that included blackened mahi, shrimp, on new rice that he had just made up, and a wonderful cream sauce also of his design. My wife selected from the regular menu their grilled shrimp which were plentiful and of decent size. Her only disappointment was that they would not provide rice with the shrimp and she had to get mashed potatoes instead. We finished the visit off with a slice of their key lime pie, which was absolutely out of this world, and sitting on a crust like no other we have experienced in key lime pies we've had all over the state of Florida. There is a secret to their crust that we did manage to get them to reveal to us but will not post on here. You must go visit and see if you can find out for yourself and experience this wonderful little place.

I struggle with the rating, because the food was really good, but the service was extremely slow. We got there before several parties, and they were done and gone before our food came out. Granted we had a large group, but it shouldn't have taken an hour and a half to get food, especially when we ordered right when we got there. Then one dish came out, and it was 15 minutes before the rest came out. The atmosphere was great, right on the water, and the cheese bread was amazing.

It's now carrabelle Bistro and the food was fresh and awesome our waitress was named Amber and she was just awesome along with everyone else prices were excellent a very valued meal and the place is very clean

Under new ownership as of late May early June. Food was great. Wait staff friendly and polite. Chef is the owner. Food came on time and as ordered. Clean and neat. Eat inside or out. Oh, the name is now Carrabelle Bistro. Same location.

Delicious, fresh seafood, prepared to perfection. Unbelievably good service. One of the best restaurants in Carrabelle!!! Had to leave area, early because of a family emergency, but was looking forward to going back every night (closed on Tuesday's). Enjoy a piece of homemade keylime pie😋

Anyone in the Carrabelle, Florida area absolutely needs to stop in here! Absolutely phenomenal food including an “off the chain” hot crab dip, cheese bread with the cheese baked inside it, delicious shrimp, scallops, and grouper! My pina colada was probably one of the best I’ve ever had and I can’t wait to try their “best in Florida” key lime pie which is coming home with us for later since we have absolutely no room, but plenty for lunch tomorrow! They are fairly new and absolutely worth it if you experience a bit of a wait!

Drive up boat docking for lunch and dinner. Decent food, good drinks and people.

New oweners grad opening Wednesday

Didn't stay for a meal. Arrived for supper on a Saturday night. Live music was loud but not good. No one greeted us for a while and the only open tables were dirty. Once a table was cleaned (partially) we were seated without menus or drink orders. After 30 minutes 1 of the waitresses who had literally running back & forth noticed us and sent another waitress whose only words were "y'all its going to be at least an hour on food". We left & went a little farther to 2 Brothers & had a good meal with good service & reasonable price.

Food was great fresh grouper service was excellent atmosphere was typically coastal.

Rachel Sadler is the absolute finest and best bartender/front manager I have ever saw. Y'all have to come here. The atmosphere, the food, the company it's worth the 3 hours to get here.

We waited a while for a server to come to our table. When she came she was very nice and was pleasant throughout our stay. She had just come on shift, was on her 5th day working there and thought someone else had our table. When we ordered raw oysters for our appetizer she came back with an apology and said they were out. Then we ordered our meals and she had to come back and tell us they didn't have any salad because someone had left the refrigerator open last night! When the the meals arrived they looked terrible. The presentation was a 2 on a 1 - 10 scale. As for taste, a 4 out of 10. We left quite a bit of food uneaten. We had decided that we would cross this one off our list. However, I asked if the usual chef was on and she said no. We'll give it one more try at some point but would suggest better training for the backup staff.

Food and service was wonderful. Everything was exceptionally delicious. We had the seafood platter for two and it was great. Waitresses and bartender have great personalities.

It was our waitress's Ashley's first day but she more than handled the multitude of questions. We ordered the Alfredo shrimp and seafood. Both were delicious except they were out of mussels for the seafood plate. Sat in the sun on the deck and watch the world float by

Good food and prices were average. Business appears to be growing and it is right on the Carrabelle River with outside seating available.

I had the fried grouper sandwich. The grouper was outstanding. Wife had a burger which was good but not special. Everything fresh. Nice location on the water. We saw dolphins in the river.

We tried sitting 3 different areas. Outside, at the waterfront we were attacked by gnats. Up on the patio, still attacked by gnats. We finally went inside to escape them. The manager was very pleasant and suggested we not sit at the waterfront due to the gnats however he offered to bring some bug spray if we chose to stay out there. Once we moved to the patio, he turned the fan on to help out with the gnats which didn't help much. He did try to accommodate as best he could - he can't control the gnats. Once inside, our meal was quite enjoyable. My husband had the Shrimp Alfredo and I had the Shrimp Basket. Our waitress was attentive, our food came out quickly and was delicious. I highly recommend however plan to sit inside if you go at dusk when it's warmer outside.

Oysters we're good, horseradish was not very spicy, cocktail sauce tasted like Ketchup, waitress was horrible.

Love this place. Great food and people working there. Somtimes they get overwhelmed with an unexpected crowd but are really great. Bare with them. They are doing their best.

Great food! The service was very good and the view of the water made everything perfect.

Take a little time but is WELL worth the wait. The portions are very large and very fresh. I ordered the pirates platter and couldn't eat all of it. Very very good food and nice staff.

We had the bang bang shrimp and they were HUGE and tasty. We saw another table with the steamed shrimp that were also HUGE. Sweet tea was wonderful and they had Oyster City on tap. Every table had a view of the water. Dolphins were out playing. Will definitely be back soon.

The food was good, but the service made the experience less than pleasurable. Took twenty minutes to receive a menu.

We made reservations for a party of 9, the staff really took care of us. Some of our orders were a little late coming to the table but it was ok, bartender brought us drinks on the house due to the delay. Was worth the wait, get the low country boil for two and share. Very nice setting, great view of river, great place....go and enjoy....we'll be back.
