$20 for a whole chicken, can't beat that price in restaurants. Food is fresh and was ready within minutes. Tastes great. Cash only though but ATM works wells with no issues.

I purchased the half chicken with 2 sides and my wife ordered the steak bowl to go. The grilled chicken was seasoned well but just a little dry for my taste. I loved the refried beans with rice. My wife's steak bowl was good. She loves all the ingredients of the steak bowl for the low price. The staff was very friendly with very quick service. I would definitely go back if I were in the neighborhood.

Nice portion of chicken and sides at a reasonable price. Cash only. Everything taste good. They need to turn on the air conditioner.

PLEASE DONT EAT HERE !!!!! I witness the cook sneezing over the grill, which was loaded with chicken. I came in on my lunch break and asked for a menu as the lady handed me a menu. The man over the grill took a big sneeze he didn’t cover his face he didn’t even turn away from the grill and when I looked over at him, he smiled, I slam that menu down and walked out how Nasty of him !!!! If owner see this look at camera on 7/13 around 2:15pm he should be fired as high as those prices are!!!!!!

Ordered through Uber eats and it was amazing. We got the whole chicken with beans and rice and it was an amazing dinner!

I have wanted to eat at this place for at least 3 years and I finally made it, and boy was it definitively worth the wait. The steak burrito is SO GOOD and the half or whole chicken meal is so mouth watering delicious that I went back 2 weeks later to get the BOGO on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The chicken meal comes with tortillas, onions and salse which makes it worth the money. However the metered parking on 18th street is really bad and the side street parking around the restaurant is permit parking so be prepared to drive around for a parking space.

I go here for the chicken bowl. I like calling it a healthier and more authentic version of the burrito bowl from Chipotle. They also have some great deals that can feed a family. It comes with the whole grilled chicken, rice, beans, tortillas, and other toppings. When I went it was Cash Only!!

I gave them three starts in atmosphere because of the fact than is more a pick up place than a dine in. But who cares, one of the best chicken in Chicago. I fully recommen it.

Hidden Gem One of the best options for whole chicken Flavorful and priced right. You’re not feeding 2-3 people a meal (whole chicken) this good for less than $20 anywhere else! They could raise the price 25% and it would still be worth every penny.

I went today on my lunch break to get some frijoles charros and rice ended up getting the special, which was so delicious everything is fresh and the place is always very clean 100% the customer service is excellent the girls are so kind and understanding thank you 🙏 for making my lunch so amazing

Great food different kinds to choose from

I had beans and chicken catered from Pollo Express for a party. Everyone LOVED and raved about the chicken. We had many people ask where we got the chicken from. They loved it just like I do. On the day when we ordered the chicken (a day or two prior to the party), my sister and I sat down in the restaurant and tried their chicken quesadilla. 😍 it was so good and the portions were huge. Affordable too. This place has some amazing chicken! I HIGHLY recommend this Pollo Express to eat! Order the chicken.

Cash only. Pollo is good and juicy. They have chicken bowls similar to Chipotle, its good 👍, they fill up the bowl. They have ATM in case you dont have cash.

I’ve been putting off coming here and I don’t know why. The place is phenomenal. Great flavor chicken. Very fresh. The burrito is everything I want out of a burrito; toasty on the outside so it holds its structure and doesn’t get soggy—- excellent consistency and flavor throughout. Quesadilla was delicious as well. WOW, come here!!! You won’t regret it.

A must try if you're nearby, don't let the small space fool you, those chickens pack a lot of flavor. Their salads are twice the size of Chipotle, Way fresher and cost less than what you'd spend for one there. They're half/whole chicken comes with salsa and sides, more than enough to fill you up. Just make sure to bring cash since they don't accept card. Stop by and have a bite, you won't regret it.

This chicken is the best chicken in town. I love chicken so much specially roasted chicken, and I tried a few places around Chicago and this is by far my favorite one. I always recommend it.. the color on the seasoning is different and it taste different.. just the best chicken in town. you won’t regret it. They also have deals on certain days which makes it affordable and awesome!! Is buy one get one half off or free so hello go for it!!!

RE-OPENED AS OF JULY 6, 2013! With just chicken, beans and rice making up the main dishes, you can't find better food anywhere that's really affordable. Treat yourself to the made-to-order guacamole and the rice pudding for dessert. You'll be back.

The half-chicken combo was great. If you use the tortillas and sides to make tacos it's definitely enough for two meals with decent portions.

Good option for a grilled chicken, make sure to pay for right parking time, the ticket guy is technically hunting for you. I haven't been there for couple of years and I find it very busy place, if you dine in be patient.

Been coming here for decades now. Their chicken is always delicious. Their sides are great too. It is cash only, but the price is right and you will be more than satisfied.

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Pollo Express, and was impressed by the wide variety of dishes they had available. From enchiladas and tortas to tacos and burritos, there was something for everyone. One of the things that really stood out to me was the authenticity of the dishes. The flavors were all spot on and true to traditional Latin cuisine. The portions were also generous, with plenty of food to satisfy my hunger. In addition to the tasty food, I also appreciated the convenient location and fast service. The restaurant was located close to my home and the staff were efficient and friendly. Overall, I had a great experience at Pollo Express Chicago and will definitely be returning in the future. The wide variety of tasty Latin dishes make it a standout option for fast food dining.

They were nice about ordering and it was extremely clean. The food is prepared by a friendly cook who is cool about answering good questions. The staff is also willing to give a good recommendations.

Love this place. The dine in is still closed. We ordered the whole chicken combo and ate in the car. The chicken was flavorful and juicy. The rice and beans were fresh and just ad tasty.

Best in town, everything is homemade fresh NO canned food here. Just in case you ask how I know this? I've seen the ladies do the rice fry the beans from a pot to the bigger pan. I've seen cilantro, lettuce, tomatoes, onions cut up. So yes I've seen food prepped fresh. Prices are extremely affordable, you pay nearly $10.00 for my favorite chicken bowl packed in a 8inch foil pan could be three times more food than Chipotle that's for sure and way less the price. Definitely no NO, BUT or anything for this Pilsen eatery..

Stumbled into this delightful slice of paradise and found one of the best burritos in Chicago. These guys know what they’re doing! Come of their state of the art grill setup and stay for the burritos.

It's finally getting better, I mean their employees are really nice and attentive and very polite not to mention always welcoming with a smile. Bad side, snow covered sidewalk and their parking slots.. i navigated over knee high snow to get my order....nonetheless it deserves my 5 Stars!!!!
