I've been looking for a real good barbecue place and this definitely is one will definitely go back food was delicious service was great and not very expensive it was like $120,125 for six people

I am here again in February 2023, and the food, service, and family atmosphere is very comforting. July of '24, bring your own Coca-Cola and listen to live music on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month, after delicious barbecue.

Been passing this place and been wanting to try it out. Today i did. I will be going back. The French fries were really good and hand cut not frozen from a box. I got the sandwich with brisket and sausage, got the marble brisket. On point. Next time i go i will stay and eat there. The portions were big that sandwich filled me up. And the bread isn't cheap bread but fresh big slices. Can't go wrong getting food from here.

Best BBQ nearby, great food portions too. Worth the money for what you get. The peach cobbler is so delicious im in love with it. YALL ROCK on this lol. Very friendly staff. Yall keep it up and the customers will keep comin i guarantee lol.

My parents 60th wedding anniversary was a week ago. Due to medical issues they do not go out. So I purchased the pig out meal with extra meats. It was a tremendous amount of food and sides. Everything was fantastic. It was a big hit with the family members that attended..

This place is practically in our back yard. Went there a few wells ago and it's our Favorite BBQ place. Going back this Friday and take some friends with us. The food was EXCELLENT! We had ribs, brisket, sausage and smoked chicken! The creamed corn and sweet potatoe casserole was to die for! The peach cobbler and nanner puddin was delicious! We took about 1/2 of our dinner home for the next day. Just as good the second day! We were welcomed and treated like family!

Very inviting place and probably the BEST brisket I have had in San Antonio. So tender! Jalapeno sausage was great as well. Not too far out of the way (along my route to work). Will definitely be returning to try everything else.

Very good bbq! Tender beef brisket just falls apart with a plastic fork. Same with the pork steak available only on Sundays-melts like butter. Ribs are also great and I LOVED the sweet potato casserole. Friendly staff too. Highly recommend

Good atmosphere and the service is excellent, the young woman who served us was very friendly and tried to speak a little Spanish, the place is very clean and when paying you can see her impeccable kitchen. The brisket was soft and very juicy as was the chicken, their desserts were delicious, it is our first time and I will definitely return. My son commented that the bathroom was very clean.

When you're in the right place, you just feel it! We knew we were in the right place when we walked through the door! We knew down home goodness was just an order away! The two young gals taking orders and greeting customers were genuinely happy to see us on a very busy Friday lunch time! Smiles, welcomes and menu help were all offered up on a silver platter, just like their delicious smoked meats! We got very lucky on our visit and were able to get the highly coveted Pork Steak! It was melt in your mouth delicious with a deep smoke flavor and smooth buttery rendered fat! The brisket is also melt in the mouth smoked goodness of which I ate several bites and I don't care for brisket!! Now, that chicken, it's the best chicken I've ever eaten!! I can only speak for the dark meat as that's what we opted for and it was heavenly! Between the two of us we tried most of the sides and may I suggest you do not miss the potato salad or cream corn, they both round out the meal perfectly! Personally for me, I'd also get the cole slaw and sweet potato casserole cuz what BBQ meal is complete with those?! We also had the very honored pleasure of spending time with John and Eva, the nicest BBQ folks we ever did meet! I highly recommend the drive, you won't be disappointed!

I usually go to Lockhart for BBQ, but this place is great. Got the 2 meat plate, and I am impressed. Friendly wait staff. The brisket is great.

This is a little gem in the middle of nowhere. If it wasn't the big sign and the flashing lights you might drive right by it. It was excellent. Melts in your mouth.

A wonderful place in the country outside the city away from the tourists with great food, atmosphere, and people. A great down-home and comfortable place to eat and chill out with your Airman after graduation. I was there on a Friday afternoon around 2:30 and there were a few people dining; not sure how it is at peak times. Nice drive as well, once clear of all the San Antonio expressways.

Stopped by on our way to San Antonio from Corpus Christi. This is the BEST BBQ and homemade sides we’ve ever had!!!! We will definitely make another trip soon.

Eat here frequently. The food is amazing. I have tried everything on the menu. My go to are the two chop special1, but the brisket plate is amazing as well. The peach cobbler is homemade and always good. The service and atmosphere is friendly and everyone makes you feel like family.

SO worth it. I’m just in the area for a few months and drove past this place a dozen times. Only after I saw the reviews on google maps did I decide the try it. The brisket was fall apart on your fork good, the fries were home made and amazing and the staff (owners?) were as friendly and inviting as could be. I have 5 weeks left in the area and I see myself having to put a new notch or two in my belt.

Let's just say the prices are real reasonable especially considering the quality of food that you get if they sell any bad food there I've never had it and I've been eating there for over 2 years. Most of the time I get the ribs and the meat just falls off the bone as you eat. The place is clean the staff is friendly it's more like eating at a friend's barbecue than a business. The only regrets you'll have about this place is if you never go there

Web site says there open till 7pm gone twice around 5 and they seem to be out of everything that's good . They should just open till 4pm then Are best bet if you want to take a drive out here make sure you come out b4 4pm..

Some of the best brisket I've had here in Texas. The atmosphere is very welcoming, the owners are very down-to-earth, and the food makes you happy. Not much more you can ask for in a barbecue joint. Be sure to try their sweet potato casserole. You will not be disappointed. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. Heck, highly recommend if you're not in the area!

Overall it was very good. The catfish was wonderful and very hot when I got it but took longer than expected. It's mostly serve yourself but they bring your food to you. Only issues I had are that they don't have traditional air conditioning so it was leaning towards warm inside, we did get a seat right away but seating is limited so could be an issue especially for larger groups and the music was loud enough to interfere with conversation. If I go again will probably bring it home.

My family has visited Pure Country on a few occasions for family events or business and no matter why we're there we stay for the delicious food! The brisket is fricken amazing y'all. Like, to die for. Everything is excellent but this is brisket you dream about. I highly recommend! It's worth whatever drive you have to make!

Oooo lawd. Best bbq I've had since moving to San Antonio from East Texas. Definitely a hole in the wall, but I'll definitely be back me and my boss enjoyed our lunch next time I'll be ordering more for after I get off work 😂🥵
