Food is good, classic southern style cooking. Came back for a return trip and was so much more impressed. Had to return to change my rating. Weird when you walk in. There's no sign to tell you to sit and your first instinct is to go to the counter but you just grab a table and hope your waiter notices you.

I’ve spent a ton of money here over the years and probably purchase here at least once a week . I won’t be returning because I feel like they don’t value a consistent customer . They had issues with their card reader and I feel like a business that appreciated their repeat customers would take care of the situation on their end but that’s not the case . Very sad because I loved picking up from here often .

The waiter and the rest of the staff that spoke to us were amazing! The waiter answered questions about the food and seemed to be well-informed. The food was delicious! First time that we had been, but we will be back.

This is a great place to get Southern style home cooking. Nothing is greasy but has great favors. We drive from Athens several times a week to eat lunch here. The employees are very polite and attentive as well.

If you're in the Athens area, this restaurant is a must! When they say southern food, they mean it! This place came highly recommend and they didn't disappoint. They serve fresh corn bread to you while you are waiting. Hot out of the oven fresh! They were buttery and flaky! I ordered the country fried steak with collard greens, green beans, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Ughhhhhhh it was all so good! The best country fried steak I have ever had. Back home they smash the hell out of the steak and make it all paper thin. It's so thick and tender here. The white heavy on top is perfection. From the sweet tea to the Mac and cheese, everything was fantastic! If you want a good, hearty southern meal, Rachel's is the place to go!!

Everyone loves to get some "Rachel's" and we are especially fans of the chicken fried steak with white gravy. Almost everyone in our family gets that.

5/14 Had to adjust my rating.......drove all the way from Loganville for the Country Fried Chicken to go, only to realize I was given the Country Fried Steak (whick I detest). 5/10 BEST Country Fried Chicken ever, veggies great, but the dessert OMG the Black Forest was to die for!!!!!!!!!

Love this place! The food is outstanding and always so fresh! I highly recommend the meatloaf, chicken tenders, and all the veggies. Most of all don’t forget dessert……The classic chocolate cake and almond raspberry cake are a must have! Keep up the great work!

Y’ALL. This is the BEST place to find comfort food, visit with friends and enjoy some home cooked southern favorites. Think Cracker Barrel but with a small town vibe. Cafeteria style with amazing servers and atmosphere. Stop in for lunch or dinner only and choose your meat and 3 or veggie plate from an extensive list of choices! Will definitely be back!

Great southern style food, just too high in price for what you get. Also, ask how much the dessert is before you get it, I got a piece of cake and it was 7 dollars.

Really great place, with really good food!

The first clue that I knew it was a good place was the fact that it was crowded. I had the vegetable plate and it was superbly delicious. Hardly no wait and the staff was nice, courteous, and professional. I definitely recommend this place.

The food served at this restaurant is probably the best southern food I've ever had in my life. You can tell that everything was made homemade and not just from Frozen. The employees always treat you right and the very polite just like a southerner would be. All in all I highly recommend you go to this restaurant, I know I do every single time that I go to Walkinsville. Oh, and I was not a fan of cornbread until I tried this restaurant's cornbread, it's the best cornbread I've ever tasted.

We stopped at this nice little restaurant because my wife was jonesing for some old school vegetables. We definitely made the right choice because she had the four vegetable plate and was very satisfied. I grabbed a Chicken Fried Steak and it was great.

Great southern food like grandma used to make. Owners are fabulous people, and servers are friendly and accommodating. It's our home away from home. We eat there at least once a week.

Every time i go to Colony Square in Watkinsville I have to stop by Rachel's, their food is always so delicious. Actual genuine home cooked meal. By far the best Southern food I have ever had. Highly recommend you swing by after work.

This place was a recommendation from a local. It was getting close to lunch time and I asked if there was a good place to eat. Without hesitation, the bank teller told me go there. I thought since It was well before lunch. I should not even have to wait. But it was packed. And for good reason. The food was delicious. Service was perfect. And the price was very reasonable. Southern cooking at its finest.

This is a good old-fashioned country food place. Very busy place. I had catfish bone in. They were great.
