Cool spot for brunch , worth the trolley ride. Gen of a place with great ambiance and a fun vibe, our server was friendly and courteous . I had pulled pork con queso omelette which was delicious. Loved this place.

Found this place on Google. They did not disappoint! Abe was our server; he was very kind and attentive! We ordered the brisket hash omelette, prime rib slider and sweet potato pancakes. My God today!! Everything was fresh and tasty! Will definitely return.

I recently visited Red Dog Diner and found the items we ate excessively sweet, making every dish, coffee and cocktail feel overly cloying. The wait staff was unhelpful and combative when we had questions about our meal, though the bartender was a bright spot, being attentive and friendly. Overall, the experience was disappointing due to the unbalanced flavors and poor service and high cost.

A friend of mine and I ate at the Red Dog Diner today. We really had a great experience. The service was prompt and super friendly. The atmosphere was great with a restaurant in front and bar to the rear, also serving food. The menu offers both lunch and breakfast and the food was really good. We will definitely return.

They had a brisket omelet on the menu when we went. Best omelet I've ever had and got the banana pudding desert which was equally as good. We also opted for a single pancake instead of the stack so I can say that the pancakes there are also very good. And in the Louisiana heat(we went there in July/August), their "spiked" lemonade was exactly what we needed. Waiter was great also. Really cool guy. Don't remember his name but he had recently graduated college. Abe maybe......anyway the whole experience here was one of the top highlights of our stay in New Orleans. Will definitely go back next time we're in New Orleans.

What a memorable experience! I would go back for the bloody Mary's alone. Add in the delicious menu, and I'm sure to make a return visit. Our waiter was a joy. And lastly, there were a couple of leaks in the roof, but nothing that would discourage me from coming back.

Everyone here was super nice. We went here for brunch so looking at the menu online, we saw all of the breakfast items...but they stopped serving breakfast at 3. This wasnt mentioned online. We chose to stay and eat there anyways. I had crab spaghetti... literally wet spaghetti swimming in some pasta water with crabmeat on top... it was ok. My wife had steak n a wedge salad. The steak wasnt seasoned very well...good thing we still had butter left from the amazing appetizer. Crab hush puppies were AMAZING and the Spinach Artichoke Dip was pretty good too... i wish we coukd have tried the breakfast cuz thats what we were in the mood for. Overall it was only ok...

If you like extremely slow service and ice cold breakfast, then this is your place!

Excellent place for breakfast/brunch. I recommend getting an order of the Biscuits w the homemade jam. So delicious! The Sweet Potato Pancakes were excellent, so light and fluffy. The Bloody Mary hit the mark. I highly recommend this restaurant. The waiter was friendly and the service was fast. What are you waiting for go and enjoy!

SO happy we stumbled across this awesome restaurant with our pup for brunch. Got the brisket hash omelette and a Caesar salad, and both were absolute bangers. Ryan was one of the kindest and most enjoyable waiters out there- he made for an awesome experience. 10/10, wouldn’t miss this spot. You guys rock!

We recently had breakfast/brunch at Red Dog Diner, a bustling spot we’ve passed by on many neighborhood walks. Our food was delicious but I specifically want to call out their excellent service. Every service member we encountered was so kind and friendly! We will absolutely be returning soon to try their lunch options :)

Really amazing brunch, top-notch food preparation. Flavors hang together expertly. I had the corned beef hash. Fun interior. If you love dogs and great food you willl love Red Dog Diner! 30 min wait very much worth it.

Delicious food in a rustic-industrial atmosphere. The portions are plentiful and well presented. The service was friendly and helpful. My glasses of ice tea was never empty.

I am SUPER excited to see this place back up and running. It was a sad few years. I’ve since moved from NOLA but I will definitely be visiting now that my favorite restaurant in this EARTH is back open. I hope they still have the sweet potato pancakes and hash browns. Those were my go to food orders. My husband hadn’t had a satisfiable Bloody Mary in over 3-4 years. No other bloody Mary’s could compete with Red Dog Diner. I hope nothing has changed, if not for the better. Eating based on memory alone ❤️

I will defiantly be back!! Great food and great service. The waitress recommend the Brisket Hash Omelette and was one of the best tasting omelettes I’ve had. I also had the Blueberry Pancakes and it just melted in my mouth! I highly recommend coming to the Red Dog Diner if you are down on Magazine Street!

What do you do when you land at MSY in the morning? Head straight to Red Dog for Crab Sardou and Bloodies. The best!

I love the outdoor dining. The food is amazing. Next time I come I will order two of the ahi tuna crisps. This is a must-try place. This is a dog-friendly establishment.

Breakfast and service here was so great. It was St Patrick’s Day parade weekend. They were busy but had no problem accommodating our party of 5 at the bar. The eggs sardoux had generous crabmeat and flavor. The pancakes were cooked to perfection with crispy edges and warm syrup. We sat at the bar and I was impressed with the amount of attention the servers were giving to the food presentation. The drink menu for St Patttys was awesome. Entire meal bloody Mary’s, frozen Irish coffee was delicious (recipe right on the money)..we can’t wait to bring our friends here.

DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE! This is my favorite restaurant in NOLA, maybe even the entire country. Their drinks, perfect. The food, incredible. The staff, awesome. I honestly can’t say enough good things about the flavors of the food here. I recommend the pimento cheese, fried green tomato, chicken and gravy sandwich, and the cherry almond bread pudding. The bread pudding is my favorite dessert of all time! Please check this place out.

We were served very promptly after ordering. The food was good. We didn’t order anything fancy, but The Joe Blo breakfast was fine. We liked the bacon a little better than the sausage.

Cool spot on Magazine street for brunch/lunch options. Drinks and service were great, food was a little disappointing. Huevos rancheros were salty and the fresh corn tortillas would be an improvement over the 'fried' flour one in the dish. I would give it another chance if I'm in the area.

I remember going to this place when I was in New Orleans for Mardi Gras a few years ago. I have been wanting to eat there again ever since then. I would move to new Orleans just to eat there every weekend, even if I didn't already hate living in Ohio.

A great happy hour experience! The food and drinks we top notch. We had maybe 7-8 appetizers and multiple drinks between 5 people and it was only $30-40 per person. My only complaint is that there were multiple apps that weren’t available and a few drinks on the menu that they couldn’t do because they didn’t have all the ingredients.

Although loud, like almost all NOLA restaurants, we really enjoyed the ambience, service, and food. We went for brunch and would have happily stayed longer, but we wanted to make out table avail.

I cannot even express how much we enjoyed our meal here. Our first visit to NOLA and I might come back just to experience this meal again. We had the prime rib Gruyère melt and the crusted crab and eggs sardou The flavours were mind blowing. The chef here knows what they are doing. Our sever Eva and the staff working today were fantastic. Might have been just a casual lunch but this meal was one we will not soon forget. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

As per usual, we had an amazing experience at Red Dog Diner on Magazine street. Brannon was our server and he was such a delight. We had a big group and he was so patient and helpful. Everyone was raving about the food. My favorite spot in the garden district/uptown for awhile now! Also - their cocktails are phenomenal!!!

Crusted Crab and Egg Sardou was so good. It's heavy on the spinach, but nothing too overwhelming.

Food came out quickly, albeit somewhat unevenly timed. The decor is charming and the service was otherwise prompt and on point. The crab & corn fritters were tasty, and the herb butter accompaniment was good, if too firm initially. Overall, I'd recommend this homey diner if you're looking for a comfortable twist on cozy food.

Not sure how this place is rated so high. There wasn’t a wait when we got in so we were seated immediately. And our order was taken super quick. Took 45 minutes to get our food. But when the bring everything they forgot to put in my order so I had to wait another 25 minutes to get my food. No apology, no discount nothing. They weren’t busy either. My food was not great and was cold. But the pancake was good so there’s that.

Order through doordash. The deals was amazing and the food was ssooo delicious. The salmon sliders were hitting with the wasabi mayo and tamarind sauce. Shoestring fries are really shoestring fries. Yum

Absolutely incredible brunch experience. Definitely a highlight is the brisket omelette. Some of the best coffee I had while we were in town. The atmosphere is top notch. A nice cool escape from a scorching New Orleans day. We will be back for sure.

Went here yesterday (8/6) and had our dog with us. Our server was so attentive and kind and made sure our table had everything we needed. My son wasn’t starting to feel good due to the heat and when I asked if we could have some napkins so I could soak them in some cold water, our server brought them and would check in with us to see how he was doing. I wish I got his nam but such an amazing person! And he didn’t forget our doggo either! Always made sure if he had water.

Everything I've had here is delicious. I'm not a fan of the shoestring fries but that's just me. Glad you guys are back in action! Effen shrimp is the bomb!

We just stopped in for the AC, and a drink. Our server was very friendly. We had the frozen/slushy Irish coffee, and it was really good. We also got the fried green tomatoes, which were ok, but the corn and crab fritters were amazing. They also have happy hour specials!

I got the cauliflower curry omelette and it was amazing! I visited Red Dog when they reopened with a limited menu, as a vegetarian I had a few options with protein but hope they add a couple more. The omelette was divine, it was packed with flavor and the portion was impressive but didn't feel overwhelmingly heavy. Highly recommend.

This diner has a homey feel with a modern twist, and is an awesome spot for a delicious, refreshing lunch in the garden district. Their salads were the perfect lunch after spending a long day in the Louisiana heat. The chicken Cobb was one of the best salads I’ve ever had!

This place is just ok. The greatest feature is the menu excerpt posted. freshly opened. kitchen staff look well experienced. They dont get 5 stars because: -the prices are way too high to justify the quality food ordered. my waffle was typical prefab cardboard batter, dolloped salty margarine. the biscuits are not worth $3. goto hunan wok and order their awesome shrimp egaroll for the same price. -it's corn syrup advertised as maple syrup. no lt a lick of maple in it, not even "maple flavored" -coffee? meh. Conclusion? For a good breakfast, goto Mahoney Joey K. This is just Slim Goody with a brand new, unskanked kitchen with bougie interior design

Last time I was at red dog. The food was very good tho slow service. Today I didn’t get a chance to eat. 45 min after I ordered they brought me a burnt sandwich. I was a little shocked they even tried to serve it to me. We all have bad days…. And I wanted to enjoy the food. But idk if I’d give it a third try.

Visited the diner on June 17th and the food was surprisingly tasty. An interesting creole-mediterranean fusion you won’t find in many other restaurants. The service was excellent and the atmosphere to with walls and roof covered with reused wooden planks. A must for anyone visiting the Garden district.

So glad they reopened. Hopefully they will extend hours to include dinner. Everything here was made in house and tastes great! Biscuit was incredible, sausage was very tasty, pancake was extremely fluffy, and the corned beef hash was very satisfying. Definitely check this place out or go back if you haven't been since they closed.

Seit 1. Juni 2023 unter neuer Führung (reopening). Sehr freundlicher Service. Leckeres und vor allem kaltes Bier. Schöne Karte mit vielen Leckereien. Tipp: Prime Rib Slider (könnte allerdings etwas wärmer sein). Portion (2 sliders) kann als Snack auch gut geteilt werden. Dazu läuft cooler funky Sound.

Always good food. I love the biscuits and gravy for breakfast and the Parmesan Crusted Chicken for dinner. The wait staff is super nice. Sam has waited on us several times and is always very attentive. Update: IT has been 2 years since we were at Red Dog and we have been Craving the Sophia King Peachy Tea drink. Two will set you for the night. We used to come in every Friday night for drinks and dinner then wobble home. The Cobb Salad or the Parmesan Crusted Chicken are my go to dinners. I can close my eyes and taste them both. For breakfast cravings the Biscuits and Gravy with a little greenery on the side always put a smile on my face. I can't say that we ever had anything bad at Red Dog. The food is great, the service always friendly(Keith was a great waiter) and The Sophia drink, well it just turned all my worries into rainbows and glitter.

By far the best bread pudding! I still dream about it. Everything else on the menu was delish.

When are y’all going to reopen?

This restaurant had such a great feel to it- some good vibes. You order at the counter and you take a number to your table and the servers will bring you your food. Food was very good, servers were cheerful.

Food was great! Good beer selection, vegetarian options. A lot of outdoor seating, not a lot inside. The food came out in less than 5 minutes and was fresh. Pretty busy on a Saturday and still great.

This place is amazing!! We had a cuban sandwich which was absolutely delicious, the queso dip which I 100% recommend it came out warm and was so tasty, we had 4 different tacos they were all delicious but the brisket taco was the best! Will stop by this beautiful diner again before we go back home! 😍❤❤
