Nice little sake bar and truly a hidden gem. Cozy, nice ambiance, and a good little patio when it warms up. I wished there was hot sake on the menu for chilly nights, I didn’t see it on the menu. Great staff as well as a solid selection of sake to choose from. It’s away from all the noise and tourists and a truly unique place. I will definitely return and tell some friends about this place and hoping it’s not discovered by too many peeps.

I had been wanting to try proper sake for a while. The experience at rice vice did not disappoint. The sake was great, the food was great, and it was everything I had hoped for.

I love this bar! Such a chill and relaxing place to get great sake (they have beer and kombucha for non-sake drinkers) and great service!!

It’s small so not ideal for large groups. food options are minimal so check for a food truck being on site or eat beforehand. four cocktail options but mostly expect sake to choose from.

Visited this last night and LOVED every minute of it 🍶 The ambiance truly made us feel like we were back in Osaka 🥹 I can’t recall the name of who served us, but they were SO knowledgeable, our experience was wonderful and I can’t wait to go back! Everything we tasted was also spectacular :)

Go here. The sake is superb and varied. The bartender knows her stuff, and was fun company. Music via record player, adorable bar and stools, I can't believe we didn't know about this spot.

I almost don't want to rate what is one of my top 3 favorite bars because it's such a hidden spot and I selfishly want to keep it that way. Rice Vice deserves the love though. As far as I know this is the only place in Nashville with local sake on tap and such a wide selection of imported Japanese sake. The bartenders are experts on Sake several of them are involved in making it in the attached brewery. If you are wanting to try Sake but not sure how to start this is the place for you. If you are a sake connoisseur Rice Vice has you covered as well. Their curated and ever changing list of imports will always give you something new and fun to try. They also carry some good Japanese beer and make delicious sake cocktails. The bar is sleek but comfy with warm wood tones and low level neon light setting the right mood. The sound system is high quality vinyl with an eclectic selection you might expect to hear The Roots, Supertramp, Sinatra, the Pink Panther soundtrack, a pop punk band and Wu Tang all in one sitting. There is parking around the side of the building and the area is a little industrial but don't let the lack of other places nearby worry you, it is after all a working brewery. The outside patio is shaded with a fire pit and very comfortable when the weather is nice. They don't have a kitchen but can heat you up some snacks, like bagel bites or a bowl of instant ramen. They often have restaurants come in and do a little Pop up kitchen which can be really fun. Trivia currently on Thursday nights! Overall this place really should be on your must try list.

This product is absolutely stellar!!! I was in love from the very first sip. Cool little spot to hang also. Get the sake flight when you go, and then take home a bottle of your fave! Note to self to spend more time here :)

Tasty sake, Nashville is lucky to have proper! The tasting room is cozy and features bench seats & stools inside, and a sail covered patio with bench seats and tables outside. Love the pop up food options to keep things fresh & get to try some of the new chefs around town in this space.

Always a pleasure dining here. An excellent local Saké brewery. Rice Vice/Proper has a gorgeous bar and all the staff are knowledgeable and kind. The space is clean and has a polished vibe that accommodates any meet up, to work remotely from, and most importantly to eat and enjoy drinks at.

A hidden gem! Very relaxed chill vibe. VERY knowledgeable staff. Was happy we could buy a bottle to take home. Just wish they had more food!

Cool little Sake joint with excellent in house and Japanese Sake. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Linda and had a wonderful time. Byron the owner and our wattress Courtney were very friendly and very patient with all of our questons. The trip from Nolensville was very worthwhile! The Rice Father sake and the Ginjo! Ka highball were each the bomb! We will definitely be back.

Reopened in a new location! What an awesome selection of both sake they brew on site and well as some imported gem’s! They will try to have food trucks or some food available to compliment the sake as well. Can’t wait to be back!

Had the Diplomat Junmai (750ml) and Pork & Chive Dumpling w/ Black Vinegar, both were excellent! Glad to have this distillery in Nash!!

Haven't opened the products yet but I can fully testify for the purchase experience. Met the owner at exactly 11AM and was hand delivered The original Tepache-Shu and Jumai I had ordered last week online. Owner said the company was in the process of relocating so I didn't bother going inside. At pick up, he upsaled the 1Q21 That was just added to the menu recently so I opted for one more bottle on the spot. Order process was incredibly easy and pick was smooth as can be. Only thing is this particular pick up location is a little hard to get too traffic wise. Can't wait to *responsibly* enjoy these products! Wanted to add a special note here, on the original order the company had said the Tepache-Shu was out of stock, but when I expressed to them that was exactly what I was interested in, they took time to provide exactly what I ordered. Says so much about a locally owned business!!!

Such a cute place! A hidden gem, if you will. I love that its different than the normal 'bar' vibe in Nashville. Its one of those places that the outside doesn't match the inside, so the first time you go you second guess yourself walking to the door, but once you're in, you love it! The bartenders are always super friendly and offer options. I love sake but have come with friends that don't know the first thing about it, and they're always great to explain the variations and offer suggestions. Do it! You'll love it.

Really cool option for a flight of sake and flight of mochi. Other than that, it’s much like a brewery with tables and it’s overall a good place to hang out. You might get lucky and meet the owner’s dog (a super friendly dog)!

Hidden f’ing gem! Amazing dumplings by the chef who runs Husk. Amazing Sake all around and cool chill vibe.

This is a really incredible place. Be careful, it is hard to leave once you sit down. Last time we went, my wife and I cancelled our other plans. You can also buy their sake in any liquor store worth going to. and you should do that.

Stopped by Proper Sake early Saturday evening. Got a flight and their Smokey Mnt sake. Everything was perfect. The ambiance is simple and interesting. The bartender Courtney was amazing. My husband had never had Sake and he loved it. The diplomat was both of our favorites. He’s a beer guy I’m a wine and beer woman, Sake is a great mix of the two. If your in Nashville stop by! Not sure there are many places like this here in the states.

This place is really special, the sake is brilliant, delicious, complex, and the tasting room is a really easy and comfortable space to spend time in.
