Excellent sauna! We went today with a big group and had a great time- the staff is so accommodating. Really clean, with a cozy lounge. Welcoming and totally non-creepy. Plus, they have new Kuuma stoves! That’s like the Ferrari of sauna stoves! Good heat and steam from em. The water taps in the sauna are a great touch too. 10/10

After looking all over Maine and New Hampshire for a good masseuse, I have finally found my new favorite! Hannah at Riverside Sauna worked her magic on me and I’m not even sure how she was doing most of it, but it felt amazing! She covered all the bases and I came away feeling relaxed and peaceful. Her, Jen, Marty and the whole family made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. The cold Prosecco(s) added to our enjoyment and we promptly sweat it all out in the HOT wood fired sauna. Revitalized, calm, and refreshed, me and my wife left with smiles and a longing to return in the near future. We highly recommend! Very reasonable rates. Thank you Riverside! See you soon!!

My boyfriend and I came here for the sauna and it was perfect! The place felt very cozy and comforting. There was a private area to change before entering the sauna. The sauna itself was also private and spacious. Had a nice shower inside as well - was nice to have this option when we got a little too warm. Will definitely be back!

We've been twice now and are planning a third visit in a couple weeks. Absolutely delightful! Comfortable, homey and inviting. Staff is so kind, helpful and personable. Wood fired saunas are a treat. Cold shower in sauna, dressing/warm room attached. Drinking water available. We got pizza and salad and beers afterwards. All great! Never knew I liked pickles in salad, but count me a big fan! I just love this place. Makes the winters in Maine just a little bit nicer.

-14 degrees nothing better then a massage or a sauna. Utilized both tonight was amazing.

What a wonderful gem of a place. The staff are incredibly nice, the sauna (our first time) was a nice experience, the homemade food was delicious. We got the special pizza of the day, a meatball pizza, and the Caprese Salad. It was the best pesto I've ever had in my life and she makes it in-house. Thank you for such a great experience.

I'm a lifelong local and I had never heard of Riverside. My mother-in-law booked us a sauna room for an hour and we ended up falling in love with this place! I just left an hour ago... and I'm already looking forward to going back! It has such a warm and inviting atmosphere! The staff is absolutely awesome (and so is the dog "Cowboy Dixon".) It has a very rustic and homey feel to it...The wood fired sauna is just amazing feeling! I really liked that there is a shower right in the sauna room to cool off. You can "turn up" the steam by dumping water onto the rocks on the wood stove... You can seriously feel the toxins sweating out of your body! If you have never tried a decent sauna than you really should! It helps with sore muscles and other aches and pains. Unfortunately we didn't have time to check out the menu today but we will definitely be going back for a night visit soon! The pastries and bagels looked amazing on the way out though. This is undoubtedly a hidden gem and I'm looking forward to going back for another visit (also for a massage, beer and a pizza next time!) Don't hesitate to check it out. This would make a great gift for someone that is hard to buy for! **As a friendly reminder don't forget to hydrate really well both before and after! Trust me when I tell you that you will want to have some water to drink in there. It gets incredibly hot!**👍💧🔥

We had such a fantastic experience at the Riverside Lodge. I'm originally from Switzerland and was, therefore, a bit skeptical about the sauna (I'm sorry). But it was a great experience! We stayed for pizza and enjoyed the Lodge's warm, loving, and welcoming atmosphere. You won't regret going there!

When I found Riverside Lodge and Sauna, I was in awe of not finding it sooner. It’s homey, inviting, cozy, healing, and Jen and her family are incredibly friendly. Jen’s baking is on a whole new level of talent. She enjoys what so does so much that you can taste it. Most importantly, she welcomes everyone with a smile and familiarity. It feels like my second home when I arrive here. The food is incredible, the saunas are hot and clean, and the massages are extremely relaxing. Jen’s even begun instructing restorative yoga on occasion in front of the woodstove. I highly recommend stopping in or booking a sauna then grabbing a bite after.

Absolutely amazing!! My mother and I went for a massage and had a wonderful experience. Even got to try their delicious scones! I will definitely come back when im in the area. They were so friendly, The massages were so good, comfortable chairs, great products, nice ambiance. We feel so relaxed, what a perfect way to end our vacation in maine! :)

On a recommendation, we stopped in for a meal. The place was warm and friendly. The staff were very polite, and the food was delicious !!!

Stayed for two nights in one of their rooms upstairs using AirBnB for two days of skiing at Sunday River. We arrived within half an hour of last call for food. Service was cheerful and food was excellent nevertheless. Way above what you would expect for a pizza and Greek salad in small town Maine. The crusts are handmade. Ingredients are simple but high quality and impeccably fresh. Homemade dressing. Perfectly balanced salad. I don't know if they bake their desserts, but they, too are excellent. The crowd is a friendly mix of skiers from Boston and locals, including delightful, well-behaved children. There was a guitarist quietly picking out instrumentals by the fireplace. The sauna was wood fired and authentic. A pizza, a salad and a dessert left two of us with half a pizza left over, which we ate for breakfast, heated in the kitchenette that comes with the room, which also has fresh coffee for the coffee maker and cream for the coffee in the fridge. Everything was the best possible combination of family-run atmosphere and careful caring food preparation. We ate there Saturday night, too. It was so good. We'll be back!

Saunas are wonderful! You get a private sauna with a shower right in it! Food is yummy and you can even grab a drink to bring in the sauna.

Been going to this place over 30 years, it used to be Dave's Sauna & is still one of my favorite places. Very clean and extremely friendly staff

This place is fantastic. You can have a serious sauna sit and then enjoy a delicious pie. Both aspects of this establishment are seriously good.

10 stars! This truly is the definition of a hidden gem. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Riverside Lodge is a must stop. The food (made from scratch!) is incredible. The decor is adorable. The staff are attentive and kind. The owner is always available and is super knowledgeable about her menu items and the area. The saunas are the real deal. Even had the pleasure of peaking in on her cute Air BnB units. If you need a home cooked meal, delicious pizza, jaw dropping dessert, place to lay your head, an authentic detox session or all of the above: this IS the spot for you! Oh great, now I want pizza and cake. To the lodge!

Great homey place! They serve tea in China cups!!! Delicious thin crust pizza, great main entre's and deserts!

It couldn't get better! This is one of the most wonderful dining experiences I have had in Maine: a cozy, homey setting where you might come in as strangers but you will leave as friends. Jennifer has done an amazing job transforming this business into a thriving hub of the community. Her home cooked specials and outrageously delicious pizzas along with the most decadent home-baked desserts make her a standout. She chooses to utilize real, fresh and authentic ingredients in all of her offerings. This unique experience offers a wonderful restaurant, an opportunity to get a massage or a Wood-Fired sauna, a glass of wine or a beer, a wonderful meal and even stay the night in her new Airbnb. Stop in and see for yourself... you will want to go back again and again.

Me and Husband Had a couple's massage. Where we both felt like we fell into a healing and peaceful place in world maybe heaven. A bite to eat of their homemade fresh pizza that was amazing then off to the sauna which was a home run!!♡♡♡
