Lovely little place to stop for coffee!!! That was all I had time for traveling today!

This was a great stop on our road trip. My Google search for "coffee roaster" never lets me down. Roadmap roasts (and distributes) quality coffee. No flavors needed when ordering an espresso drink here. The setting is beautiful with indoor and outdoor seating. The batista was friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning!

Great coffee off of Rt81. I was in town visiting my son and he told me to try Roadmap. I will return!

We were in the middle of a long drive back to Georgia, and I was on the lookout for the next Sheetz off I-81. Fortunately, I saw a sign advertising this place, and decided what the heck? I was impressed the second I walked in the door. In fact, before I walked in, as the outdoor seating looked very tranquil. If we had more time, we would probably have stayed a while. This is a place to go if you actually care about coffee. I consider myself a connoisseur, so I was so excited to see the variety, and all the neat coffee gadgets they had for sale. The baristas working that day were friendly. I got one of their premade chicken salad croissant sandwiches on the fly, and man, that was tasty. My only regret is that I came at the wrong time. Because we were on a time schedule, albeit loose, but still wanted to get home, I went for what was on tap, or the drip coffee du jour. It was a dark roast, which personally I don't like dark roasts. They have this blend called Blue Ridge, which looked extremely delicious. I decided to go with an Americano with what selection they had and called it a day. That turned out pretty well actually, because the aftertaste was on point. Sorry for the novel of a review, folks. I just love finds like these, and I enjoy spreading the word.

I was really excited to try but super disappointed. The espresso tastes burnt and super expensive for small iced lattes. No flavor variety. I wish we would’ve went somewhere else around here

My first time coming here and it did not disappoint! I got the nitro latte and oh my goshhhhhh— worth every cent. Absolutely delicious. Also got a cinnamon bun (I think it was like a croissant roll thing haha) that was superb. The employees were friendly and the environment was extremely clean. The only thing that i could see being more helpful is having descriptions underneath what sm of the drinks r on the menu. 10/10

Roadmap Coffee is an absolute gem! The place is beautiful and welcoming. We tried the coffee flight, and each one was delicious. The staff is amazing—so knowledgeable, friendly, and provided excellent customer service. We had a great chat about coffee, and they gave us fantastic local recommendations that really enhanced our experience in town. We are definitely coming back!

Coffee good but no half and half or cream. Only milk. Some inside and outside seating to relax but not setup for study or working from. Nice clean bathrooms and facility

I love Roadmap! It is part of my regular Saturday morning routine. Whitney, Kristene, and Ben are always kind and craft excellent coffees! The atmosphere is idyllic, particularly the available outside seating. I'm vegan and gluten free. Non-dairy milk is readily available for coffee. Gluten free toast, made from Season's Yield bread, is delicious paired with fig jam. My husband avoids caffeine, and he raves about their decaf pour over!

i waited 15 minutes for a single iced latte while people who had ordered before me got their drinks. when i finally asked where my latte was, a woman working the pour-over station looked up and then completely ignored me and looked back down. it was only when the only competent worker in there told me that they were working on it now and that she would refund me the coffee, did i get an update. it was clear that the man working the espresso station completely forgot about my order. he was working slow as it was. then, when my latte finally came out, it came out hot when i had asked for iced. the entire place seemed very unorganized and poorly managed. the food was decent, even though they don't offer cream cheese as a bagel topping (???). do not recommend.

Coffee is top quality. Went in for a tasting flight and the barista was super nice and thorough. Then went and sat outside in the great ambiance. Will come again.

We had the best experience with Whitney! She is knowledgeable and fun. I like my coffee with caramel and she was able to change my mind and I am drinking this straight with cold foam! Nice little coffee shop. You can tell they take their roasting/brewing craft seriously. Staff was nice. We stopped in just needing a place to stretch our legs during a road trip, and their bathrooms are all private "whatever" bathrooms which are our favorite kind as a family with littles. There was no diaper changing area which was inconvenient for our baby, but I was able to take our toddler into the private bathroom for her to use the potty. All the indoor seating is tall tables and chairs, which also is inconvenient for small children. But we made do. They have picnic tables outside but it was too hot for that.

Great stop for a coffee and to take a bag home. I drive past monthly on I64 and always stop if they're open!

We switched our coffee vendor to Roadmap about a year ago and have had it delivered to our NYC office. The reviews that I have received from co-workers since have been excellent. Multiple times per week we have people asking where we source our coffee from and how they can order it themselves. Definitely a fantastic company/brand. Would recommend.

Toasts were burnt , upon complaint the second lot was also burnt ! No value for money . Recommend customers avoid sandwich preparation. No hot coffee available as Espresso machine for hot coffee was out of order !! Very strange for a coffee house ! Cold mocha was fine though !

Amazing coffe shop with really good coffee and atmosphere is so nice

We drove up from Virginia Beach for the long weekend. We figured we would enjoy some sandwiches and try out the coffee flights before we checked in to our hotel. We hoped the staff would have at least given us a recommendation as to what to try. Instead we were told they had no sandwiches and they couldn't serve us the flights. We ended up leaving and bringing our kids down the road for lunch. Can't rate the food or coffee because we didn't get to try any of it.

Bougie, pinky's out, delicious. I'm an amateur coffee snob and always on the lookout for a great single origin pour over in my travels. This place has it. They roast their own beans, and they do a damn fine job. (We left with a bag.) The tasting notes are accurate. Also, they serve phenomenal baked goods. They do not make them, but their source is top notch. I trust their coffee and their judgement. You should too. Stop in and get a cup!

We had a great experience at this weekend! The coffee flight was really fun to try and the iced coffee was amazing. Prices were reasonable for what you received. Loved the dog friendly outside area and small walking area to stretch your legs. We will definitely be back.

I’m from the Pacific Northwest which has the best coffee roasters and shops in the United States. I’ve travelled the east coast often and this is one of the only coffee shops that reminds me of the coffee from home. In fact it’s better than many of the places near home.

If you need a pick me up for ur roadtrip, stop here! It’s a must stop! The staff is SO sweet & so knowledgable! Tons of outdoor seating & they’re always upgrading their machines & have a new nitro machine! They let us taste test it too! I got the honey cinnamon lavender iced & it’s so good!

This is a very beautiful coffee shop. The pour over coffee was quite delicious that showed that barista was knowing the job. The place is very neat and they have some outdoor furniture for nice weathers. The stuff is really nice and after I ordered my coffee and maybe I was not very clear about my order there happened to be a mistake and I asked about it and they were so nice and helped me to get my order correctly. Don’t hesitate to stop here on your way and besides it is very near to the Virginia Safari Park as well.

I was super excited to start an overnight hike with a coffee flight from Roadmap - a bucket list item (I came from an hour away). When I tried to order they informed me that they weren’t serving flights because their sink was broken and they were unable to clean the mugs. I saw some disposable espresso/short coffee cups so I asked if I could just do a few short coffees instead. I was told “no, because there would be no way to ring it in.” I settled for a cup of the Blue Ridge Mountain blend and a consolation pastry which was pretty tasty. I left dissappointed nonetheless. The interior is attractive - reminded me of a visitor center you’d see on a parkway. There was also a viewing window into the gigantic coffee brewery. The staff were pleasant enough but they were not very interactive. While I sat and drank my coffee a friendly gentleman came in to order and kept trying to make conversation about the antique espresso machine on display; but alas - the baristas only responded with smiles and one word answers. Sorry dude. Anyhoo, I might try again if I’m ever in the area.

What a delightful surprise to discover this unique coffee roaster with over 30 years experience. Have fun and try a flight of their coffee, and perhaps discover your favorite. Interestingly the nitro coffee was quite a surprise, and I took one for the road. Yes, they also have a drive-through on the opposite side, but do take your time and enjoy the full experience. The informative baristas are quite helpful, and try to relay coffee perfection to your palate. Some local bakery favorites are available as well, to enjoy with your fresh coffee. Chocolate croissant, 🥐 was quite large and delicious.

Best espresso I’ve had in Virginia

From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by the warm aroma of freshly ground coffee and the friendly smiles of the baristas. The coffee itself is top-notch. They source their speciality beans from small farms. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, always happy to recommend a drink or answer any questions you might have. Will definitely be returning!

We stopped in to pick up some espresso beans and a couple of coffees while passing through and we ended up purchasing a couple of flights, too. Whitney and Gray were so kind and wonderful to talk with—we learned a lot about the different varieties that are being offered. Also, the coffee is fantastic. All in all, a wonderful experience! We'll be back soon.

This was a wonderful stop on our trip from NY to TN! Top-notch coffee roastery and shop. I got a delightful Cappuccino and Latte which were free of any bitterness or sourness. The barista suggested my girlfriend get a London Fog tea which she liked very much! We stopped on the way to Tennessee and then on the way back to New York. On the trip back we also got a toasted bagel and croissant.

I love this shop. I discovered Roadmap initially as simply a good break on my road trips north on I-81 to visit my parents in Virginia. What a great find! Without exaggeration Roadmap roasts some of the finest coffees I’ve ever had. For context, I worked out of Seattle for three years and Roadmap coffee stacks up favorably to the very best coffees I found in the Northwest. When traveling by Lexington I always stop in for a *perfect* cappuccino and to pick up some roasted coffee to take home. The service is always excellent; they are highly knowledgeable about fine coffee. I also routinely order their coffee online. My favorites are Espresso Gusto and Coconut Crunch; but honestly all their coffees I’ve had so far are outstanding. Highly recommend!!!

We grabbed an affogato and a vanilla latte. They were very delicious! The staff was super cool and there was plenty of parking.

Honestly beautiful place. Clean and in a decent location. Prices are crazy, but I can handle that for good quality. My tea was fine but this frozen then barely warmed chocolate croissant for almost $5 is laughable. The staff were also having a loud and slightly rude conversation with the other guest there. There were not rude to me just the conversation could be found offensive by some.

We didn’t get food, but the coffee and service were great. Whitney and Heidi both took excellent care of us and we had a great conversation. Detour off I81 to try this place!

This is what I hope to find when traveling - an excellent cup of coffee. They do have limited food options (I got a pre-packeged sandwich which was good). The baked goods looked good, but I didn't get any. Most importantly, the coffee was really good.

I just stopped in Road work coffee works to break from my road trip. I was excited about a great cup of coffee! Wow, was I disappointed. I asked for heavy cream. They do not have heavy cream, your choices are whole milk or oat milk. I asked for a sugar-free syrup, they do not have sugar-free syrups. I went with the whole milk, latte, knowing that I had some Stevia in the car to sweeten it with. My hot latte came out lukewarm. Definitely not the cup of coffee that I was hoping for! Disappointing!

They're doing the specialty coffee thing over here. Was happy to find this place on my travels. If you just woke up and you're looking for the good stuff, this is your spot.

We found this gem while on the highway passing through the area. We saw the billboard and decided we had to stop, and it was worth the 3-mile detour!
