Branford's hidden gem! Food was amazing! From start to finish. Great patio dining! Inside dining is gorgeous too with a nice bar. A must try ! You wont be disappointed!

The food was good the price is a little high for pasta but to be fair at least you do get a decent portion. Small place so reservations are hard to get

I don’t even know where to begin! I had my daughter’s baby shower today. It was amazing, the food was outstanding! The staff were truly wonderful! Everyone couldn’t stop raving about the food! All of it was prepared fresh, and it was delicious! They gave us plenty of time to set up, and went out of their way to help! I would highly recommend Rosso vino!!! Couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place to have a memorable event!! Joe and his staff are truly the best!!

Always a great place for good Italian food. Slightly over priced because being a chef I know the cost of most meals and they tend to run out of specials within 2-3 hours of opening which is always disappointing but a good experience in the long run.

We have been here several times- always pleased with the level of service. This time Ken. Our softshell crab delish and light— cooked perfectly. Scallops also cooked perfectly. Calamari so light and sweet. My manhattan delightful. But, I must say after spending just over $300.00 for the 4 of us, we were then TAGGED WITH AN EXTRA 4% for using a credit card!!! This is RIDICULOUS! Credit card companies have many liabilities and often are stuck for the money ( non payers) but front the money to the businesses that use their credit cards. It’s a service many many of us use!! I don’t carry $300.00 cash with me to pay a restaurant bill to avoid this situation!! It may not b much $$ but from each customer each nite it is and it’s wrong!!! I also believe this is illegal to do in CT, MA, and ME. While we have enjoyed Rosso Vino in the past and the other nite, I’m not in a big hurry to return. It’s WRONG to do this!!!!

Prices seem fair for how good it is.

Awesome Italian Restaurant in Branford, CT. Warm sangria rimmed with graham crackers and infused with and cranberries warmed my heart and soul. Beer battered fried Squash Flowers served with some of the tasty marinara sauce I’ve ever eaten. Dang it was sooo good. Braised lamb shanks served over mashed potatoes finished with pan juice was braised to perfection. Two meaty shanks tender as can be. Gnocchi with marinara and two huge signature meatballs. Momma Mia those were some good meatballs. Some of the best meatballs I’ve had outside my home. Huge portions so had to take home half my meal. No room for this gal to eat dessert although friend had the maple creme brûlée which he thoroughly enjoyed . Decorated nicely for Christmas with holiday music playing in background. Service was top notch. Reservations highly recommended. Valet parking daily. An Italian gem in Branford, CT.

Wow. I cant say enough about this restaurant. Started dining here about 2 years ago now and every single time the food was fresh and the service is always wonderful. The owner joe always comes to greet us with a warm hug...all of the waiters are always pleasant but we always get Anthony who is very delightful. Def a hidden gem ..

The ambiance and music brings you back to Italy, giving real life family vibes. The staff was just as friendly offering excellent customer service, with a friendly attitude which makes this post difficult for me to make. Atmosphere can only get you so far when paying an exorbitant amount of money on dishes that don't live up to the reputation. The sauce lacked seasoning, salt, etc, and anytime a chef puts pounds of parsley on a dish it's sometimes a way to mask that the chef can't cook, we had a greenfield of it on our plates. The sauce tasted canned and with the speed it came out it was lukewarm, making me believe the dish was one someone sent back and possibly handed off to me. My wife had ordered the scallops that looked as if they were sitting in human snot, and was fishy beyond belief. I know this is beginning to.come off as a rant but a lot of people may say why didn't you complain...it's because I respect the struggles of business owners, cost of materials, and the damage was done. When you get food poisoning do you ask for a gift card to the restaurant. The standards of the food must match the atmosphere, otherwise you come off as fake Response to owner: I take back the customer service line, the waitress is nice but you apparently can't take criticism and my palate is distinguished. My wife uses my Google account to write reviews as well, so mentioning burger King was illiterate to the point that your food sucked. I've been cooking since I was 5 years old and trained by a real Italian off the boat. Try and say it with me..salt. very easy addition. While your at it, less tomatoe paste, boil peeled plum tomatoes, some black pepper, a little more olive oil to dilute the acidity of the sauce. I had to rewrite my post in order to respond to your whining because your food sucked, it's as simple as that. Also you may want to talk to your "fish guy" because my wife was sick this morning from the one scallop she ate, and i know thats not coincidence, you could smell slight ammonia. And if you continued to read you would of seen that I didn't want you to pick up the bill, because those products costed YOU money. And we darted out out of respect FOR SQUEEZING US IN, because you had someone coming in at 6pm. So wife got sick from your food, I gave you some tips, corrected your arrogance with your inability to read, and our opinion on your food is not going to close your doors. Everyone has their own opinions, what one person doesn't like, another person may.

We had an amazing experience last night at Rosso Vino! I called ahead as we didn't have a reservation. We were told they could seat us early so we arrived at 4:30 and were seated promptly! Our server Julie, was very sweet, kind and knowledgeable of the local area. We order the muscles appetizer which was excellent! Perfect for myself, my wife and mother. For our main course my mom and I ordered the monkfish special and my wife ordered the scallops. Delicious and amazing!! We were all so happy with our meals! Nice sized portions, great presentations, perfect consistency. Five stars all the way! We will be back for sure!!

12/31/23 Back again-/ Just here for NYE—exquisite… total perfection! 5 star. The zucchini flowers were unreal, as was my baked stuffed lobster tail and my husband’s surf and turf. Loved my champagne cocktail, too! The staff? The host, Jill, and Amanda—delightful! Thank you, thank you! Happy, healthy 2024. See you soon. ——————————— My husband and I had dinner here tonight. Just perfect. Everything was wonderful!!. Anthony, our waiter, was fabulous. The food was incredible, especially the zucchini flowers. Our bus girl (her name escapes me), was a delight too! Rosso Vino never disappoints, service , food everything is impecable!

This place is truly amazing. Not only is the atmosphere fantastic, but the service from the moment you walk through the door is extraordinary, especially from our waiter Rob. He goes above and beyond to explain the menu, make suggestions, never lets our glasses empty, very friendly and attentive—it's clear he does his job with a lot of passion. The food is genuinely exquisite. I regret that Google doesn't allow more than 5 stars because they deserve 10 starts.

Had a date here and it might have been one of the best meals I've ever had. Got the duck with cherry gastrique, mashed sweet potatoes, and asparagus. Staff is very friendly and they have free valet. You need to reserve early though as it fills up fast. We unfortunately got a table near the door where there's a lot of wait staff traffic (not a big deal though).

There are no words. Salivating over the thought of the meal we enjoyed at Rosso Vino on Sunday. Every detail. Every bite. Fried oysters. Bolognese. Veal Scallopini. Real deal food and feel. What an awesome spot.

This is one of my favorite restaurants, period. Every aspect. We dine here at least 3 times a month. I used to travel extensively and enjoyed meals at Wolfgang Pucks first place on Sunset Blvd when he was newly famous, and others of this caliber and Rosso Vino is in this league. Joe puts a lot of fruitful effort into specials like broiled Mediterranean sardines and the red crab sauce that is as good as it gets. The main menu is always wonderful. It is both as good and comfortable as the best home cooking and as festive and inventive as the best of restaurants.

Creative food for the most part, although the ribeye wasn't as good as it should have been. Also, dining room is small and the place was packed, so it was noisy.

Nice spot right by the water. Parking was a nightmare though. It was raining too. Once we got there we enjoyed our meal. The service was good and the atmosphere was fun. It's a small place so make a reservation.

WOW!! First time here, drive 45 minutes, and it was soooo worth it. By far the best vodka sauce I have ever had. both my wife and I had pasta, two different kinds, and we both agreed, best pasta meals we have had. We made last minute reservations, and they were able to squeeze us in at the bar, which was greatly appreciated. Will defiantly be back again! Thanks for the excellent evening!

We needed a place to celebrate our Dad’s 90th and had family coming from Boston, California, RI, NY and Westport and chose Rosso Vino. The food was amazing, the service friendly and efficient, and the location was perfect. The owner Joe was super accommodating to our large party. We walked to the beach after. It was a perfect celebration and we all look forward to returning. Thank you!!

Best fine Italian food not only in Branford but maybe all of Connecticut. Regular menu and special never disappoint. Parking is a little rough, but they offer valet services during peak times. It's also not easy on the wallet, but it's so worth it every time. Staff is also amazing. Hell, the bartender practically planned my wedding. 11/10 would recommend.

This place is off the hook. The owner Joe always finds away to come out and show his application and the food. OMG. And come see Grant. Instead of goofing off for the summer, he’s working hard as a table boy. Very commendable.

A restaurant that really knows how to take care of its guests. We were high maintenance today after a disaster at Shell and Bones in New Haven the night before. Thank you, thank you for a wonderful meal, prepared just for us, in a nice clean restaurant with amazing staff. Loved everything and every minute!

Excellent food and service. The venue is very small, parking is odd although there is valet parking. Can be very busy reservations recommended. Outdoor seating just a great place overall.

This is the best restaurant in Branford. The food is incredible. My entire friend group raves about the bolognese dish. We basically dream about the amazing food here. Call a few days ahead to ensure you have a table reserved for an amazing dining experience. Not only is the food spectacular but the ambiance and service is fabulous. The ocean air is so lovely and my favorite server is Jasmine. She is so friendly and accommodating! Every person there is a delight to interact with and offers thoughtful attention and kindness to their patrons. I can’t wait to go back ASAP!
