Best Guyanese/trini food around

I have been driving back and forth to Trenton for training all week. So far I have been to this place everyday for lunch. I have tried different things each time. Everything was delicious and healthy. The customer service is also phenomenal. This is one of the best Caribbean spots that I have ever been to.

Visited this place for the first time today, as one of my clients told me about it, the food was awesome like I am accustomed to in TNT the place was clean which is really important to me, they have so much variety on the menu. More important the staff was awesome and friendly, I will be going weekly if possible.

I’ll be very honest please don’t be mad. Excellent atmosphere and service, I had the doubles with chicken curry not the tastiest the curry need some spices, and the phoulri that’s not how to make it. Please please look up YouTube and see how to make phoulri, you have to add a lot of ingredients to it. Thank you and hope you take my advice!!

It's the doubles for me! Service was great, sweet family style warm people running the restaurant. It's busy but the wait isn't long. I love that there is seating and it's BYOB. (Bring cups)

It's a great Caribbean restaurant with lots of great Trinidadian cuisine. The service was fast and the restaurant is very clean. While some places in Queens may be cheaper, the cost of tolls and traffic is well worth the trip here instead. Please stop by for a quick bite or just to sample the food

Bought 2 doubles and got 9-10 grains of channa in each one! Unbelievable! Count it for yourself... The channa is lost in this nicely sized bara!

We drove over an hour from the Lehigh Valley to try it, because of the excellent reviews. The food did not disappoint! Wonderful. The chicken doubles were excellent.

This was my first time here and WOW! It was my best friend's birthday and he grew up eating Trini food but as the years passed, that slowly became less accessible to him so I knew that this would be the perfect birthday meal! I had ordered takeout of the jerk chicken with rice and beans with cabbage, stewed oxtail with rice and beans with plantains, and lastly, curried shrimp with roti and potatoes. Everything was absolutely delicious, flavorful and tender! The roti (buss up shot) was so yummy, I would come back to order just a side of that, let alone the actual main courses. My best friend was easily reminded of his childhood, so you know the flavor is authentic. We were very much satisfied after eating our meal. I definitely will be coming back. 10/10 would recommend.

Today was my first time here. I happened to be in the area and googled roti shops. I'm glad i came. The place was clean and lively. The staff made sure to let us know they would be with us shortly. Wait for food was not long. Normally in most caribbean restaurant you get attitude and rudeness. So I made it my business to take the time out to give praise and thanks. Too bad you guys are not close to me.

Ordered jerk chicken, rice, and callaloo. The jerk chicken lacked so much flavor and was very very dry which made the rice also very very dry. The callaloo was a "puree" I guess that is the Trinidad way to make it but they should mention this is how it is prepared. The presentation alone for my meal was subpar. Probably wont be back anytime soon.

Bake and shark is only served on Fridays and Saturdays, but it's so good and totally worth it. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more of their menu.

Had the doubles with goat and with shrimp. Flavors were on point. Service was excellent and the staff was super friendly. Definitely heading back to sample the menu.

We came across this delicious place by working in the area and hungry for lunch lol. We live half hr away and would continue to go back for our roti and doubles. Coming from a Guyanese we are So glad we found this Trini joint!!!

I drove over an hour to get my meal for it to be served to me as if I was a dog ordered veggie meal with callaloo, chicken peas, and cabbage it was served together in once container where it blended together in which I did not enjoy nor did I request it the cabbage is cooked differently and didn't not have much flavor wasted of money, time and gas for the trip. There should be no way you are putting callaloo and chickpeas together in one container

Definitely my favorite place to eat real west Indian Trini style curry. The blend of spices was well on point. Very clean establishment, thanks for the beautiful experience.

The Atmosphere I when I entered had me hooked. It was my first time coming here and the people working here treated me like family. The food tasted and felt like I was at grannies cookout, freshly prepared with huge potions. Todd especially was great at making everyone feel at home. They cook all kinds of dishes but they all have their authentic culture taste. Making it feel original. I’m glad that they are getting more attention because they deserve all of it. Great people, great food, what more could you ask for. Highly recommend

I fell in love with pholourie when I travelled to Trinidad and Tobago. I haven’t eaten it in years, so I was overjoyed when I noticed it on the menu. It was delicious. In addition, the service was excellent! I plan to return to Roti Plus again and again!

Good food but poor management. Rude

I’ve only ever come here for rotis & roti skins. And don’t get me wrong, the roti is delicious. But I seem to always come down with some level of food born illness after eating it. Like really bad stomach pains/indigestion and sometimes vomiting, reminiscent of food poisoning. On the 2 occasions I’ve had a boneless chicken roti from here, I’ve fallen sick the same night. That was enough times for me to not want to order from them again. I’m not sure if they’re just serving undercooked chicken or putting something in the food that upsets my stomach but the chicken does have a weird unsettling texture. Also the roti skin is so thin & fragile that it rips no matter how gently I handle it. I think I’ll stick to Annie’s

This place makes you want to go and rate other Restaurants with less stars. Super friendly staff (they got that Trini charm). Good good food! We drove 45 mins from Philly to get some. The bathroom is super clean. They go out of the way to make you happy. My toddler was literally rolling around the floor and one of the gentlemen gave him a packet of cookies which definitely kept him still for a bit.

Always enjoyable, I always get warm greetings from staff. Foods great and favors takes me back home. We travel often to Roti Plus. We never were told, we out of items. Fresh and nice variety. Clean nice seating.

The owner for this restaurant is very insultive and has a bad attitude towards customers. Myself and hubby was there for the first time to try out their food. We ordered buss up shot, dhall puri and aloo pie, was told by the staff it will take twenty minutes. We waited thirty five minutes before inquiring about the status of our order from the owner who was at the register. He gave a flimsy excuse why it took so long. He later came to tell us that in five minutes we will get our order. My husband just nod his head acknowledging him. When our order was ready, he came to cash it and started to abuse us and tell us to take our business elsewhere as he don't make money from selling rotis. The customer is not always right that our attitude was bad towards him as we supposed to say thanks as though he was doing us a favour when we are paying our money. He also said that he would have given us a discount but our attitude caused him not to as though we are hand to mouth. I would never ever go back there and would never ever recommend his restaurant to anyone. If you don't make profit off of items on your menu, don't sell it. It's simple.

You won't be able to stop eating. Delicious and friendly staff. This is my comfort place to find comfort food.

As I looked at other reviews & pictures of the food they posted from Roti’s, I was completely disappointed. My Curry in bone Chicken was sooo dry. Not a drop of Gravy on it. Also my Cabbage looked nothing like what the pictures looked like & they spread the Small amount of Cabbage on top of the rice to make U think U got a decent portion of Cabbage. The Waitress was very pleasant & the dining area was clean, but I was very disappointed in the food..Also I bought a bottle of Sorrel drink that was very bland. There wasn’t any ginger in it at all. I waisted my time & money💰going there…

Absolutely phenomenal, such amazing flavors and tender meat! And the people were so nice and wholesome, whatever meal I have later in the day won't compare now. Will definitely be making this place a regular

Missing items on my order. Gave me chicken roti instead of goat roti after writing down my order and charging me for goat. Missing buss up shot in my order after it was written down. Disappointed in my ppl, must do better. After driving over an hour and spending over $80 to support. Will not be returning

Great Trinidadian food. The roit & doubles is the best! I have tried the chicken, goat, duck, shrimp roti. The food is always excellent. We always get several doubles & other stuff to take home, even when we dine in. Management, is excellent. The owner & his staffs is always kind, welcoming & gets u exactly what you need. Great customer service with a smile. Clean, upbeat & spacious atmosphere. Family & kid friendly, with plenty of parking. I highly recommend this place. I just got back from Trinidad and was determined to find a restaurant in NJ so I didn't have to go to NY. RotiPlus will be my go-to from now on as the food was exceptional, and the service was so welcoming that I felt like I've been going there for years. I had the biggest aloo pie ever, the biggest and best bake and shark (that even beat out my last trip to Maracas), the oxtail and rice and peas was 15/10 (so much meat and better than anywhere I've had them). Overall I can go on and on but I'm very happy that I found this place, my family were beyond impressed (they're a tough bunch), and I will be back many times. By far this is the best Roti Shop in New Jersey! I’ve relocated from North Jersey and wasn’t sure I was going to have my native food. Let’s just say I am very pleased that I have a delicious roti shop nearby. This made me feel right at home. 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹

First time I went a week ago and I'm still thinking about it. My mother is from Guyana so I was so excited to find a west Indian restaurant near me. The food was incredible, tasted just like my mother's, grandmother's, and aunties cooking. Service was fantastic, food came out fast and hot. I had the bake and salt fish, the curried chicken and the stewed beef, with the curried potatoes and chic peas side, and i ate nearly all of it. 10 out of 10 must try.

Pros Extremely clean Excellent staff Free parking on site Aloo pie is made fresh and 100% consistently perfect Rotis are 100% on point Cons Doubles are inconsistently good. Its a hit or miss, 1 day its 100%,the next day its unacceptable. Prices are higher than the average roti shop prices Portions do not mirror the price ranges. Overall its a great place to eat!

Im from the Caribbean im not a picky eater, but when i say their food bring you back home, IT DOES. only a Caribbean would understand 11/10 would recommend to everyone and anyone , btw i never write reviews for personal reasons, but they deserved it thats my 3rd meal from roti and it has been on point every damn time!!! I even called them back to thank them for how good food was.

Good tasting food, nice atmosphere and nice people. However, I'm concerned about the sanitation of the food... lost my appetite after seeing one of the ladies use the same set of gloves to count money - then touch, prepare, and serve food. I hope this improves.

The food here is great! It’s nice to find a place in New Jersey where you can get “home food” while away from home. We also catered food for a family gathering and everything was excellent. This place is one of the best I have been. Customers service is excellent. Treat customer very very nice. The place is very much clean price is very much affordable. I will recommend anyone who hasn't try their food as yet. Don't wait just go try it. It's a 10/10 for me. The most recommend one would be the snapper fish with rice it's so so delicious.

I have been to a bunch of Trini spots and this by far is one of the best! I never give out five stars unless I have visited a restaurant 3 times or more. That way I can gauge the consistency of how they operate. Each time I paid them a visit the food has always been fresh and full of flavor. The restaurant has always been clean and the staff has always been friendly. I will definitely be back again and again.

True taste of Trinbago home cooking. The only reason our food made it home was because we came from a BBQ. We bought Doubles, Aloo Pie, and Pone, all very delicious. We will definitely be back for Roti.

I was completely satisfied with this restaurant. So happy I decided to try it out. I ordered the boneless chicken with cabbage with roti on the side and a double. I was pleased with my choice. I loved the double with chick peas. My daughter had curry in bone chicken with pumpkin and roti on the side. She loved her meal. I ordered a side of chick peas to go. It’s also a BYOB for those who enjoy a drink with their meals. The workers were very nice and friendly especially Andy. I will definitely go back.

We fell in love with Roti Plus and you will too. Excellent island food, Trinidad style. My favorites are the bone-in chicken curry, curried potatoes, rice and beans, and an excellent sauteed cabbage. Of course, the roti is famous (we prefer buss up shut/ paratha), but they offer an amazing dhalpuri as well. I've also tried the stewed beef, oxtail, curried shrimp, and curried chick peas (every dish was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor). Treat yourself to a Solo champagne cola while you're there and maybe a slice of cassava pone. Mostly set up for to-go orders, there are several tables for dining-in. Friendly staff and a welcoming clean environment. A real treat!

Great Trini spot for sure. I'm from New York and I have to say this place is by far the best I have ever had. I was visiting for the weekend and I had to come back and buy more food to take back home. Definitely worth the 2 hour ride from New York to Roti Plus. The staff is great and so friendly. They make you feel like home.

This is an updated review, this is my 3rd visit to Roti Plus. I called ahead to let them know that I was coming and called in my order for macaroni pie, stewed beef, callaloo, 3 boneless chicken rotis and doubles. Everything was packed with care and my visit was easy and efficient. As usual, the food is made to order, delicious and my 80 yr mom enjoyed her dinner and will enjoy her lunch tomorrow. Thank you for all the care and love that you put in your food. It makes so many people happy. We appreciate the taste of home, many thanks!
