Good Jamaican food I got jerk chicken and brown chicken cabbage rice peas plantain

I usually ONLY order fried chicken or soup from Jamaican restaurants because…you can’t really mess those up! I visited today for soup-they don’t sell soup. I ended up getting a mini jerk chicken and a cheese patty. I NEVER buy patty from Jamaican restaurants because they are usually horrible! I ONLY purchased it here because I saw a review saying it’s the best patty they’ve had-lol. I thought that statement was ridiculous! Lol. HOWEVER, the patty is SOO good!! I think they got the recipe from Juicy Beef (lol…it’s just that good!) I ate the patty while on the highway and I literally pulled over to eat the food after tasting a piece of the jerk chicken! The jerk was the real deal and NOT oven baked! Seasoned to the bone! The rice was cooked well- it wasn’t hard(like the parboiled rice) or soft…veggies-seasoned! The lady who served me was patient and did not have an attitude or disdain look, even through my indecisiveness of what to get. I just might pay the toll again from NY for some of that food!!

Food was so good I start eating outside in my car, it taste authentic an made with love...

The food is GREATTTT and the service is fast! Here with an Update and 3 years later and this is still one of my go to spots and I always recommend this place. But lately I’ve noticed that my husband tried her fried chicken 🍗 and would be upset everytime it was sold out and he would be so set on this fried chicken that he wouldn’t even want anything else and sometimes would eat nothing for the night. So after a while I had to see what this fried chicken was about and I finally tried his and now I see exactly why he loves it. I don’t like any type of sweet fried chicken but this fried chicken is so well balanced with seasoning that I am now chasing the fried chicken with him. Seriously if you haven’t tried the fried chicken yet then you’re cheating yourself. I don’t know how she does it but it’s sooo damn perfect and it’s not dry and hard like most fried chicken either. The sweet doesn’t over power everything. That hint of sweet blended with the spices has me hooked. We normally request it because I don’t think it’s a daily item on the menu and when it’s available they buy it all up. You definitely have to call in early for it. But Listen yall….Don’t Cheat Yourself, Treat Yourself! You won’t be disappointed at all I promise you that! It’s a reason she is still in business after being there soooo many years.🙌🏽

I came here today with my boyfriend and we both LOVED the food. I moved to Jersey City from Flatbush Brooklyn awhile ago and was disappointed I could never find good Jamaican food. I’m happy to say I finally found my spot! The CURRY GOAT is excellent. MAC AND CHEESE is so good and cheesy. RICE AND PEAS delicious. Jerk chicken good too!!

When I say they are so consistent. The food is phenomenal & please try their new addition Honey Garlic chicken wings!!! Beyond amazing !!!!! They need to really expand. They need to be on the News.. ASAP!!!!!!!! Their Customer Service…. If I can give 10 stars … ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

Loved the amazing food! We ordered jerk chicken, obtain and brown goat gravy with rice and plantains. The portions were very generous and food was delicious! We found this by chance when we were in the area and will be going back again!

This hidden gem restaurant offers a great selection of Jamaican cuisine. The prices are reasonable considering the large portion sizes of fresh and flavorful food received. The dining area is clean and offers several tables spaced out for dining in. There is a beverage case with lots of Caribbean and American choices, a hot case on the counter showcasing assorted patties and a few desserts are offered as well. Counter service for take-out is polite and efficient and your order is repeated back to you before being prepared and cash, debit and credit cards are accepted for payment. The entrance may be a challenge for those with mobility issues, due to a step-up to enter and there is limited on the street parking because they are in a mainly residential area. The restaurant is conveniently located close to the GSP southbound.

This restaurants food is delicious 😋 It's hot in temperature, all the great flavors in the food! I appreciate how they speak to me when I call for a pick up! Then in person the ladies are courteous to me as well. I recommend the combos for sure. Two meals in one. My favorite is jerk chicken and peppesteak! My daughter likes the veggie platters. Her favorite is the macaroni and cheese and the dumplings. Enjoy spending your money with this establishment! Enjoy!

Food very tasty and affordable. Def recommended the stew chicken or Curry Chicken. Comes with rice dumplings, plaintain, cabbage , all that good stuff. The people who work there are really nice, fast and understanding.

I found this treasure spot by accident yesterday. The food was excellent. Not too spicy or salty. I had a extra large platter that was enough for two days. I'll be returning soon.

Got a small order of curry goat and Mac n cheese and wow, just delicious and such a generous portion, chefs kiss level ! And they even added cabbage and plantain, I’m in love!

The food was good, however when asked about gloves. I got a look. When you're handling money and food, gloves should be used. With everything that's going around.

Just tried Royal Taste today for the first time and I will say that I am not disappointed. The food is very good and the owner Kesha was so nice! I will definitely order from here going forward when I want Caribbean food. Royal taste is my new spot!
