We ordered the pork chops medium, and they came out medium rare. We told the bartender, and she quickly had them put on the grill. Everything was delicious.

Simply amazing elegant dining experience. From the arrival through to the final tab, just wonderful. Great people and service, quality food with a great menu, great atmosphere.

Everything is always great at Russell's Where else can you go where the host is actually the owner who escorts you to your table. Waiter, appetizers, entrees, dessert, and even the busboys are all top of the line. The restaurant and host earned their well-deserved outstanding reputation.

When Russell says "Be our guest and let us do the rest". He means it! Everything about this place from the food to hospitality was amazing! Best dining experience I ever had! Definitely going back!

Just celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary at Russell 's. Absolutely amazing. From the greeting at the door, the impeccable service, dinner, dessert and coffee everything was perfect. Just can't say enough except we will surely be back again... thank you for an unforgettable dining experience...

What an absolutely amazing dinner experience!! The food was cooked to perfection and the attentive service was simply second to none! Highly recommended if you’re ever in the Buffalo area or are flying out of the Buffalo airport! They have a hotel on site which also looked top notch!!

Not only was it a pleasure in such an elegant place . The service. Was top notch.. The wait staff was awesome and professional it was worth every penny my husband and I spent for such a lovely meal. The only thing I would change is a little more light so I can enjoy reading the nice menu. The gentleman who came to. Our table was able to make beautiful meal suggestions. We went for our 55 Anniversary there was nothing complimentary the table they wanted to give us horrible ! The food overpriced and not good!! My husband received something he did not order!! My food filet not tender!! Sorry we chose there for our special day😩 Will not return!!

Ordered a porterhouse and it tasted fantastic but the whole steak was full of tendons everywhere I cut. I couldn’t eat it and told the manager so they offered up a fillet instead. Definitely redeemed themselves with that and it was awesome. Lobster Mac tasted premade and veggies tasted like they were thawed. But I was very unsettled by the fact that you can’t look anywhere in the place without seeing this dudes face. Pictures everywhere, a life size wax statue by the door, on the little boxes of toothpicks and even the to go bags, it’s just creepy.

John was an absolute delight. He was extremely attentive, and was so sweet and funny! He absolutely made this experience! Wonderful time as always. My husband enjoyed his rack of lamb, and I had a wonderful steak.

Absolutely love Russell's, their calamari is always cooked perfectly, the entrès are delicious, I prefer the 14 Oz. Filet, desserts are delectable and the coffee is amazing. All in a comfortable atmosphere where they make every guest feel like they're the only guest that matters. Special thanks to Eric for the wonderful service thus evening.

What can be said other than it's Russell's. What's not to like?

While staying at hotel we decided to check out the restaurant for a late supper. Everyone was friendly and super attentive. Wife had the filet which she never finishes but this time she ate it all and said best steak she has ever had. The rack of lamb was generous portion, cooked to perfection and the crust was amazing. Only drawback is not being able to come back weekly as there was so much on menu I wanted to try. Server was great as well. Can't wait to come back.

It's one of the best steaks around. Great service and nice atmosphere. Desserts are very good as well. Love the demi glace that they put on their steaks. Highly recommend

Love Russell's for food, service and usually atmosphere. However, tonight the music was awful! Instead of fine dining dinner music it was more like bar, happy hour music. Ruined an almost lovely dinner. I can find this music in any diner. I don't need it in fine dining.

Best place to enjoy a dinner in Buffalo. First class food and service. My kids who just graduated med school and UB said it was the best experience they ever had at a restaurant. We travel a lot and are foodies. First class all the way!

My husband and I made reservations for our anniversary. I was so excited to have a nice evening out and finally get to spend some quality time with him. Instead, we were seated in an uncomfortable booth in the bar area. I don’t mind getting a drink there and waiting for a table, but I definitely don’t want to sit there while trying to enjoy an expensive meal. There are tons of big screens with music videos playing, bright yellow lighting in the booth area, and I felt a sensory overload which wasn’t relaxing at all. My husband is also partially deaf from serving in Afghanistan and can barely have a conversation with me when there’s a lot of background noise. We weren’t underdressed - I had a nice dress on with my hair and makeup done and my husband had a nice button up with dress pants. We watched other people walk by from the dining room with jeans and sneakers. When I unwrapped silverware from the napkin, there were crumbs inside? I don’t understand why we were sent over to the bar area but I was so disappointed and even a little sad that our evening did not go as expected.

We loved our first ever visit to Russell’s! We look forward to going again when back in Buffalo. Our server, Gary, is a rock star. Top notch service. It was also a real treat to meet Russell. He selected our table for us, and for a couple of non-romantics, it was very romantic!

The reason this restaurant has such high reviews, is because Russell and his staff make the experience a great one. The food, the attention of the staff and the atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. The four of us had a great time. Thank you!

Always heard about this restaurant's first time here very disappointing

Ok here's my review. Not sure how to word this one because I love the food so much but last night's dining experience was not all that great. Like I said, the food is always great. Service was excellent even though I got the impression that our server was stretched thin. First thing that wasn't great was a terribly filthy water glass on the table. The busboy was trying to fill it when my husband pointed out how gross it was. I have no idea how it wasn't noticed when the table was set. Next was the butter knife...totally coated in crusty food and wrapped up nicely in a white napkin. Once again, not sure how this was missed. Highlight of the evening was a young couple that got seated near us. He looked like he had just come from a job painting houses. Ripped, stained jeans. Disgusting white t shirt with advertisements on it. And her, well let's just say that it wasn't quite a full dress. My question is, what the heck happened to a dress code??? In Russell's defense, he did come over and escorted them to a different table. I was honestly curious where take 9g was and how far out of view he was putting them. Lol. But seriously, they should not have been seated to begin with. Now let's talk about the sparklers that are stuck in every celebratory dessert. IMO it is tacky and childish. We were there for our 10 year wedding anniversary dinner, not a fourth of July picnic. Don't think they are necessary. We go once a year to celebrate something. Dinner for 2 is no less than $400 with tip. Guess I just expected better and because of that it was a disappointing night. I honestly feel like the quality of the atmosphere itself has diminished. Makes me sad.

First off bartender did not give the lemon requested in husband's drink. Initially food ordering went well but waiter was so chatty with obnoxious giggle took forever to get food.Had to ask "Bus " to clear plates when table became cluttered. Bruscetta bread was cold on arrival. More endless wait for main course while waiter chatted up tables on either side . My entre was undercooked and cold ,while husband's entre hot and tasty. Not worth the money. Let me repeat that. Not.

We had dinner reservation and overnight stay at the hotel. The dinner was so wonderful and delicious. The service from the server and all the others was fantastic. Everyone was prompt at refills and anything we needed. Started with the escargot which was hot and so tasty. We shared the seafood bisque which the server kindly split into to cups for us and it was so rich with tons of seafood bites. For dinner my boyfriend ordered the seafood tower which is listed on the appetizer menu but more than enough for a meal. He thoroughly enjoyed it. I chose the bone in ribeye and I like my meat extra rare and it was cooked perfectly. The meat was so tender it basically melted in your mouth. We shared a wonderful bottle of wine, but didn't have room for dessert. We had such a great time and meal and it's nice to go to an upscale place now and then and get pampered!

The owner when my wife and I walked in tried to make us feel uncomfortable because of our attire. We were traveling and wanted a good meal. Food was great. We found The owner's attitude amusing.

The tuna was cooked to perfection! Mussels for our appetizer. Incredible flavors, relaxing atmosphere and a staff to be proud of... Absolutely amazing! They did not dissapoint ☺️ Enjoy

This was my first time at Russell’s and won’t be my last. We went to celebrate a friend’s birthday and had heard great things about this restaurant. I’ll start with the service, the service here is incredible. I don’t think our water cups ever went empty! Our waiter and the supporting staff were all extremely professional and helpful. The food, amazing!! Steaks were cooked to perfections, the pork chop was amazing, the mashed potatoes were delicious, my only complaint about the potatoes is that I wish I had more. Oh and the stuffed banana peppers were great! Desserts were a perfect way to end the meal. They were definitely larger than expected Overall a fantastic spot and I will definitely be returning.

For our 30th Anniversary our son n daughter in law brought us to Russell’s. The food was phenomenal ! Our waiter John was fantastic. Everything timed perfectly and on point!

Wonderful delectable meal. Filet Mignon was so tender and juicy, you didnt need teeth to chew. Seafood bisque was rich and creamy. Excellent meal. Next visit on March 1st was a complete flop flop. Had to send a raw steak back and didnt see our waiter for half the meal. Upon leaving I spoke with the dining room manager. Out waiter came out and saw me speaking to him. He lunged at me and yelled, WHAT! Even the manager told him to step back. Very upsetting considering it was a quiet conversation. Manager apologized, and that was it. For such a prestigious restaurant, very unprofessional and unnervingly.

I think this place is too fancy for my husband and I. I ordered a chopped salad, expecting a typical salad. It was tightly formed into a mold and blended together almost like coleslaw, held together by a heavy amount of dressing. The flavor wasn't bad, but I could only eat 1/4 of it before I said "I'm done." That night, I was queezy every time I thought about it. My husband wasn't impressed with his meal either. He said his steak didn't have much flavor and the mashed potatoes had a weird taste. We won't be going back. I do have to say, the service was incredible and the staff were very kind and knowledge about the menu. I really wanted to enjoy it. It just wasn't our cup of tea.

Amazing romantic experience! The food was absolutely delicious. Very filling. The atmosphere was lovely and decently quiet. The server we had was amazing and he impressed me a lot with how he memorized the entirety of the menu for that day and the specials. 10/10 experience! Would highly recommend it to anyone.

Wife and I , went and stayed the night for our 17th anniversary. Had a Great Dinner, the Steak was incredible. We also hah dessert and I had to try the Banana cream pie, that Russell makes himself. The best I have ever tasted. Suits were very clean, and beds very comfortable. Next morning we had the buffet (breakfast) every thing and more. Russell greats everyone who enters the Dinner to eat. One great wonderful man. Highly recommend going here and staying the night. Don't forget Dinner, top notch service comes with a fantastic meal, you will truly remember.

Every thing was Burned or charred and tasted like burned veggies had the special strip stake, some yellow slime was dumped over it. NASTY. That was my order only, the others had no problem with there not on special steak and mashed potatoes save your money and go to Texas Road House 100 % Better food and no Hype and High Prices. We had a great dinner and overnight stay at Russell's. The filet was amazing, as usual. The seafood chowder was not as we expected so they replaced another choice without question. We ordered dessert to be sent to our room about an hour later. The creme brulee and chocolate cake were both delicious! We also had a Jacuzzi room which was much needed. All in all, it was a GREAT night ... At Russell's, of course! P.S. Russell was up at the check-in for dinner, as he always is, smiling and greeting all his guests. 😊

This was my first experience at Russell's, and it was good. The food was on par to the description from friends and family. The service was great. Chris, our server, was very knowledgeable and very helpful. The only complaint I had was the 4 very large tvs playing music videos in our seating area.

Honestly, we have Never had a MORE SPECTACULAR DINNER EVER!!! The Rack of Lamb were cooked to PERFECTION The Bone in RIB-EYE was definitely THE BEST I’ve ever had The filet mignon dinners were OFF THE CHARTS DELICIOUS!! Always a first class experience, right down to Russell greeting you at the restaurant! The room and restaurant deals are great.

I have dined here since it opened and have always found the food delicious and the atmosphere elegant and relaxing. Not this time! My party of 4 was promptly seated and our server was excellent. But then things went haywire. Owner RS began loudly berating our server for who knows what reason. He did this repeatedly and it was quite nasty and unprofessional. In addition, RS kept stalking back and forth, scowling and obviously quite upset. Everytime I looked up there he was 10 feet away in a state of apparent rage. This ruined the night for us. We had initially thought he was joking but nope. After this lousy evening I don’t think I wish to ever return no matter how good the food, which was delicious. We all feel much sympathy for the server who was doing an excellent job and didn’t deserve such abuse. Maybe time for RS to consider packing it in and getting some help .

Had the most amazing anniversary dinner at Russell's last night. From the moment we walked in service was top notch. Dinner was absolutely delicious too. I want to thank everyone who works there for making our special day that much more special.

Came here with my lovely family to celebrate my birthday. This was our first time here. I like the fact that they pulled my chair out for me to be seated. I really appreciated that. I ordered stuffed banana peppers and the lamb chops with mashed sweet potatoes. The food was good and very tasty!! The waiter was great. I truly appreciated the sparkling chocolate covered strawberry. Yummy!

Loved the decor, our server was excellent. The steaks were cooked exactly how we ordered them. Delicious!

We were quite disappointed in our first, and almost certainly last, visit to Russell’s. Although the service was excellent, the food definitely needs work. The seafood bisque was the worst seafood bisque I’ve ever had. The shrimp had an undesirable texture, the soup was overly salted and there was so much corn starch the soup was gluey and lumpy. The steaks were ok, but not that tender and a little dry. We’ve had better prepared steaks at other establishments in Buffalo. The vegetables tasted like banquet hall veggies and the sauces again tasted overly salty and were very gluey. Way too much cornstarch being relied on for the sauce and soup work. The decor felt outdated and despite the phenomenal service the meal felt like wedding hall food. The whole experience just felt very “banquet-ish”

We celebrated my son's 7th birthday. The steak was delicious and the atmosphere was very nice. The server was very good and treated my 7 year old great.

Went for company party. Probably wouldn't come otherwise because it is very pricey. Very fancy so don't wear jeans. Good menu variety but cannot justify a $60 seafood paella. I can make the same at home for way less; it was delicious none the less. Atmosphere was very elegant and clean but not too "family" oriented. Good for a date or anniversary dinner.

Outside of our own WNY universe is it normal to have a Local beloved megalomaniac? With a restaurant dedicated to his own image? Literally the lobby and bar is decorated with paintings and photos of himself… and then you look down the hall and THERE HE IS. READY TO SEAT YOU. I felt like I was having an out of body experience because I should have been laughing at it all but I couldn’t because I was being treated to a nice meal. The food was okay, but there was a SIGNIFICANT amount of silver skin on my fillet mignon, which is frankly… bush-league. I have to guess the reason people love it here is the same reason you never hear of people taking a bad trip to Europe: they’ve spent too much to admit they had an uncomfortable time.

This was an amazing dining experience. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and were able to have our daughter and her partner join us. We enjoyed every moment and the food was spectacular as was the service. Every detail was perfection.

For our anniversary we reserved through OpenTable. We asked to be seated by a tv so we could watch the Bills Game. They sat us in the Lounge and it was the best seat in the house! Our waiter, Jon made our night perfect! He was personable, funny, and was quick to deliver everything we asked for! It was also great to see Russell himself out there seating people, giving direction, cleaning and cheering for the Bills!

The place is so nice and we stayed the night. The hotel room was great and the staff is friendly. We had dinner and the steak was huge but chewy and tough. My boyfriend even agreed he was a little disappointed because of all the hype of the food. We would stay there again. It was a nice relaxing time away

This was my first and last experience at Russell's. Poor experience with Mr. Salvatore who was very rude to me. Food was not great. Never coming back.
