This is about as real as it gets. I’m from here and I love this place. If I was traveling through here, I was lucky enough to find it, I would be very excited.

Let’s give a shout out to any place like this that remains open. I love this greasy spoon and only wish it were closer!

It's always a spot we hit when we are in the area. Good burgers, good fries, and good shakes.

Stop by here earlier today for the first time. Mom got a chocolate malt and I got an ice cream cone. We decided to get burgers for dinner this evening. I am extremely impressed with my cheeseburger and onion rings and mom is very impressed with her cheeseburger. Now if you will excuse me, I have to go back to eating now

Great little place that has been around for years. One of those nostalgic type places, to take you little ones for an ice cream cone or a really good burger. Most of the employees are young people who are always extremely polite and quick with your orders. My wife and I enjoy a middle of the week, old time, date night, just enjoying the food and people watching while sitting in our truck. Cool place.

Patty melt was just a grilled cheese with a patty and the bbq nachos were just as lame as well with meat and chips with bbq sauce. Very disappointed. Friendly service though.

It was pretty decent. First time there. I loveeeddd the strawberry cheesecake malt milkshake I got whipped cream and nuts on top was 🔥. Had a jumbo double cheese burger it tasted ok. The dressings (pickles, lettuce, onions, and tomato) kinda made the burger. I normally like the burger to speak for it's self but I've definitely had a better burger elsewhere. Was huge tho. Give em that.

The cheeseburger is the only thing id come back for it was amazing, the onion rings werent to my liking, and the fries werent fully cooked, we didnt have time to ask for extra frying so we just eat the burgers and threw the rest away. The staff were really friendly, the prices are ok i guess. We spent almost $40 for 2.

I visit this location at least 3 days a week for lunch, but after my most recent experience I have no plans to return. I was denied access to the restroom due to it being employee only and a “health department concern” however on many occasions I regularly see Caucasian customers use their restroom. I even saw several Caucasian customers go to the restroom, and check the handle but they couldn’t enter due to it being occupied by an employee. I was then told that if I had a small child it would be different, and that I could use the restroom only with a small child. This makes no sense at all because the health department would have an issue regardless right? Then I ordered two ice cream nachos, and was cheated on the toppings. I literally watched the kid give me the nachos with Oreos only on them. I then told him I also paid for Reese’s so he went back and removed some of the Oreos and sprinkled some Reese’s on top and handed it to me. I then told him that I paid for both toppings and he responded “both are on there”. He then slammed the window shut. There were crushed Oreo tiny crumbs and crushed Reese’s crumbs, but no actual crushed Oreos or Reese’s. Denying African American Customers the restroom but allowing Caucasian Customers access does not look right.

Patty melt had a good patty, but was missing the grilled onions. Cajun fries were the worst fries I've ever had. Tasted like cardboard. No seasoning on them at all. Chocolate malt was delicious but was the consistency of chocolate milk. I expect better from SDB

Our Salem Dairy Bar is always delicious! I love the Jumbo BBQ sandwich. I get 2 meals out of it. Cajun fries are a requirement. Did somebody mention Malts?? We got 1 Butterscotch and 1 Chocolate. I messaged them on messenger to see if they had butterfinger to have a butterfinger malt. Wasn't very long and their response was not one of their flavors....but that sounds good. Come by next week and we will... Very nice...

This is the old time dairy bar you find all over the south. But this one has some REALLY good stuff. Their fried pickles and onion rings are battered in what appears to be funnel cake batter. They're excellent. The burgers are greasy perfection and DO NOT miss out on the malts.

Been eating SDB since I was a kid. I went here recently for the first time in a couple years & the food is still great, & good service! The business has obviously changed, but the food & atmosphere have not 😎

Great small town Dairy Bar. Outdoor picnic tables and great area for the kids to play. The food is great as well. There are too few of these around these days.

I've stopped a few times and the food has always been good. I stopped this time to get a snack to tide me over until dinner. I ordered Cajun fries, strawberry milk shake and a fried chocolate pie. They usually stay busy but the wait time this time was unusually long for an order like mine. They did apologize when I got my order so I just suppose it was an off day for them. The shake was great but the fries could have been seasoned more. The fried pie was a bit of a disappointment. I expected a thicker filling but it looks and tasted like canned chocolate syrup. It was so messy and the taste wasn't as good as I expected so I couldn't even finish it. This place does have wonderful food and nostalgia so I still would recommend it.

I just had one of the best burgers that I have had in a long time. I absolutely enjoyed it ( double jumbo cheese burger). I highly recommend this place.

Hamburger was Small as a Sausage Patty I ate the burger in one bite that’s how small it was wasn’t satisfied whatsoever but they didn’t overprice atleast!!!

I would really rate 4.5, but that’s not an option. We had reg double cheeseburgers and Cajun fries. The flavor of the burger and portion of beef was great. It could of had more mayo and pickles. If you like pickles on burger I would order it with extra pickle. Cajun fries were ok.

This establishment is a staple in the Saline County community as it has been around forever. They offer great cheeseburgers, fries, fried desserts, and ice creams. They do not offer indoor seating however they do have picnic tables around their property. Their food is made to order so expect a short wait on your food. They get extremely busy during lunch and on the weekends (even more so with nice weather) so plan accordingly. You absolutely cannot go wrong with a cheeseburger and fries here. It will rival any burger joint here in the area. I have been coming here since I was a small child with my dad and will continue to do so with my children. Great service, good prices, and delicious food.

Me and my family have to go there everytime we go to little rock or anywhere close to it we love there food and really like going there in warm weather to play the games outside and spend family time.

I tried the double cheeseburger & Cajun Fry's with a med Dr pepper. Food was exactly what I was looking for! Customer service was great. I will be coming back very soon!

I’ve heard about this Dairy Bar for a number of years, actually had a chance to try it out. NOT DISAPPOINTED, possibly the Cheeseburger in the state of Arkansas. Superior service, for an older establishment very well maintained and clean. Food is always cooked fresh so it’s super fast service, but that’s how it should be done. Will definitely return. Take out only, no dinning room.

I had a truly disappointing experience at the Salem Dairy Bar. The food was shockingly subpar, lacking any flavor whatsoever, and the presentation was a messy disaster. To make matters worse, the wait time was ridiculously long, and the young kids working there were unorganized, constantly making mistakes with my order and displaying a rude attitude. But the absolute worst part? As they handed me my food, a bug crawled out of the window. This place has clearly gone downhill from what was once a thriving eatery to a subpar hole in the wall plagued by bugs. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Great burger and tots! I expected the onion rings to have a more tender breading but they were a bit tough. Fudge sundaes are great! Great seating area to enjoy food under the trees.

We were referred to grab a burger here after the owner of Rober chatted with us a bit about "lunch burgers". So glad she sent us this way. I am craving this burger now just talking about it. Cute little spot and dang good food.

One of the BEST dairy bars left in central Arkansas! We eat there about once a week. The burgers are fantastic! My wife likes the protein plate. I can taste the fries right now just thinking about them! Don't forget the fried pies for dessert!

I heard many good things about this place that I had to try for myself. I was definitely not disappointed. The burger was one of the best I’ve ever had and the fried pickles were perfection. The guy working the window was so nice and considerate. Will definitely be back over and over again.

We LOVE the SDB!! We eat there about weekly. I love the fact that the workers and owners take such pride in their business and work, any issues we’ve had they are quick to fix!! Will continue to support this locally owned business!

I’ve been eating at Salem Dari bar for 52 years and they have excellent food. Best ice cream in the county. Best burgers , Burrito’s,chicken strip dinners. Just all around the best. 😊

I don’t remember my life without the awesome food and people at Salem Dairy Bar! I live in Fayetteville now but do not come to town without a visit!!! THE BEST food you will ever put in your mouth. Period. It doesn’t get any better!!!!

OMG!!! Salem Dairy Bar is such a gem to have in this town! The employees are all mostly young, hard working students who do a phenomenal job!! They are quick, nice, and help all customers with grace. I've seen people get pretty rude and the front girls/guys just smile and continue helping. If you've never tried Salem Dairy Bar, then GO! Do it now! You can also get an Arkansas Dairy Bar book and they will sign/stamp it at any location that is in it. I recommend a Burger, Seasoned Cheese Fries, plus a Banana Shake with Caramel. This restaurant has been a part of my community since before I was born. I have always been so thrilled by the food and service! When it changed hands a few years ago, it couldn't have gone to a better family. They are maintaining the treasuries of so many memories and they work so hard!

Been going for almost 20 years. Might take a few min to cook your food but it's SOOOOOO worth it because its real food and great quality. I love this place.

The double cheeseburger was good, except the bottom bun dissolved within minutes. Fries were hot. Only downside was the price.$$$

This place is a local staple. I've been going here since I was in high school! We just moved back to town, and my husband is not from around here, so I was so excited to show him one of my favorite local spots! We were very bummed the ice cream machine wasn't fully working when we went by. They only had chocolate shakes, which worked for me because it's my absolute favorite but my husband only likes vanilla so I guess we will just have to go back soon so he can get the full experience :) the burgers were just as amazing as I remember and the onion rings were PERFECT!!! I can not recommend this place enough if you're craving a classic burger and shake :)

Cute lawn games. But the positives end there. My husband and I decided to stop by here on the way out of town on our Harley. Both of us have been here on different occasions a long time ago and wanted to try it again. We ordered spicy barbecue nachos, a barbecue sandwich, fries, and a chocolate shake. The girl at the window had literally no personality - I asked her if the nachos had onions and she said no. When the girl asked what kind of car we were in we told her we were on a Harley and that we would be sitting at the tables (so it should be obvious we were going to eat there and not take the food with us on a motorcycle). After maybe 15 minutes or so, they called my husband's name to which he promptly went to go get our order, and the guy handed him the food, said have a good night and rudely slammed the door in his face. He was not asked if we needed any kind of condiments or anything else. When he brought the food to the tables, I opened my nachos to find them covered in onions. They did not give him a straw for the chocolate shake so he went back to get one - it took 10 minutes or more for them to give him a straw. They also gave us no utensils of any kind, ketchup, salt or napkins. By that time I had started trying to pick off my onions and eat my nachos I then discover they had not given us any napkins either. I had cheese and barbecue sauce all over my hands from picking off the onions that we're not supposed to be there in the first place. Who does not give napkins when someone is eating barbecue which is obviously messy?? After it taking 10 minutes for him to get a straw I sure wasn't going to send him back or go myself to get napkins so I just wiped my hands on the paper bag they had given us. Despite the nachos having onions on them they had almost no taste at all. The fries had no salt on them and again we did not want to go up to ask and have to wait forever for salt either. After we finished our bland food we threw our trash away and left. We had to stop at a gas station so I could wash my hands before we left out of town. So in summary, bland food, no utensils, no napkins, no salt, no ketchup, rude employees, incorrect order but yard games were cute. We will not be back again!

I have been going here since I was a kid. One of my family's favorite places to eat! It takes a little while for your food to get ready so be prepared for that. It's made fresh and they stay busy. But, I promise it is worth it! There are fun games outside for you and your kids to play while waiting. There are picnic tables for you to sit on while eating if you would like. If you don't plan on eating there then I would suggest calling in your order ahead of time to give them time to get it ready. This will help cut down your wait time. The employees are always very friendly. The food is always hot and fresh. The cheeseburger basket and cajun fries is our favorite meal. You also need to try the fried pies! Yum!

Just ok. It’s pretty pricey for what you get. I got just a cheeseburger, no fries, and it was $6 plus tax. Nothing on the menu hardly for less than that, nothing specifically for kids either so you’re kind of left guessing how much food you’ll get and how much to order for small people. They had cute toys there for kids to play with. I was just underwhelmed by the food for the prices asked vs how much you got and not much flavor. Also no spoon for the slaw or napkins in the bag. Shake was ok, but nothing to write home about. Lady at the window wasn’t too helpful either. I was sad because I had fond memories of the place from when my grandpa took me there as a kid.

I reached out to them on Facebook to ask for their help making a deep fried item that wasn't on the menu. They were very helpful and willing to go above and beyond to help me make the item. They even responded to me on a day they are closed. I would definitely recommend going here!

Great place to take the family!!!!

This place just feels like home. Especially in the summertime. Kids running around on the property with their ice cream or sno cones. Their food tastes like it was made in your grandma's kitchen. Staff and customers alike are always kind. Their funnel cake fries are addictive...especially when paired with their soft serve in a cone! It's always a treat when we stop by here.

Food was fresh but was quoted $12.00 after tax for a dinner paid $16.01 nice to know that a "family dairy bar" loves to send $4 in fees down some very poor people's throats if you feel like you wanna get $4s in fees up your bumb go here.

Always a positive experience. Old fashioned Dairy Bar, with old fashioned service and product. Staff is super friendly and helpful, they go above and beyond what you expect. Prices very reasonable.

We called in 10 minutes ahead of time with only 1 order in front of us.... got there and still had to wait a long time for only 2 peanut butter shakes. Pretty slow service for how much your paying for their food and drinks. At least they taste ok though.

When in town from Georgia I always make a plan to eat as much of their delicious soft serve ice cream as my visit will allow! It's wonderful!

Wonderful old dairy bar not many places like this still around and I hope this one continues to remain in business. I drive 20 miles one way from my home to get food here. Definitely go try them you'll love it.

Nostalgia of older times when dairy bars were abundant and service was personal. You may have to wait for your order, but they have places to while you wait and on a beautiful day, its so nice you may just decide to stay there while you enjoy your food and milkshake.
