Great place for breakfast or lunch would be great for dinner but they close after lunch

I shared a lunch here with some friends. The food was great service was impeccable. Helen was wonderful. Would definitely go back again. A nice local place to eat and get good food.

This is NOT about the food which is good. 2nd time in less than a month this has happened. Walk in at 1:36, manager Penny comes up and says, Sorry we shut down the kitchen already. I love the food but this is very disappointing.

Bad business sign says they close at 2:30pm it's 1:33pm! We walk in party of 5 lady comes waving her hands sorry we're closed we're out of almost everything. The kicker is restaurant was packed.

One of the best diners in Crystal River. Big portions, great prices. Even has a seniors menu.

We have driven by Sara's a few times and decided to stop for breakfast. We found it very welcoming and we were seated right away. As we browsed the menu we found the prices a bit lower than we expected. Especially the country fried steak and eggs. The staff was pleasant and the food arrived in a timely manner. We have since returned and had the same experience. Would recommend.

The best, if you like a good food this is the place to go.

I got the chicken and waffles. The hand breaded chicken tenders were delicious and the waffle smelled like fresh baked waffle cones. The prices were great and reasonable.

We had to find a place for breakfast after a hotel debacle- so thankful that we found this place (so many locals) - had to be good & it sure was - our waitress Susie gave us the ends & outs of the menu - the biscuits are out of this world- highly recommend

This restaurant is the perfect example of how I like to travel. No chain stores. Just real folks and real food. The atmosphere is good. Everyone kind of keeps to themselves and just enjoy the food. I had a simple big breakfast that didn’t disappoint. The food looked good and tasted better. The small things like perfectly sweetened sweet tea and the best biscuits that I have had in quite a while. Our server was very warming and fun. You’ll like this place. The menu is very diverse with the typical breakfast foods along with liver and onions and gator bites. I can tell that they take care of the kitchen because my home fries were fresh and the eggs were good with no extra taste from anything else on the grill. Just stop reading and stop by. It’s gud! 😎

I came here on the first morning of my vacation and I can say it left an amazing impression! I got the country-fried steak and I heard I just had to have the biscuits and it didn't disappoint. The serving size was huge for me! Even so, I just had to eat as much as I could, it was just that good. If I ever come down again, this place is on my go-to list.

Our eggs and omelet were perfect. Nice folks. They are really on top of service here! Prices were good. They don't skimp on portions either. Way to go, Sara!

The soda machine is dirty, black specs in the sodas.

I really enjoyed the meatloaf. The peppers and onions were distributed throughout so each bite was full of flavor. And the sauce on top was deliciously tangy and sweet with tomato. The okra was done right, the perfect golden crisp. The Reuben was nicely carved and tender on rye. And the fried chicken had a delicate crisp batter. Looking forward to trying the cinnamon rolls. Lovely staff who really care for their customers here. ❤

I loved eating at Sara‘s diner today… a real authentic old Timey local place. Prices are very modest serving are generous and the food is delicious. Staff is very very helpful… Betty took wonderful care of us today

Good food at great prices. This is definitely a popular spot with the locals. We came from out of town to swim with the manatees, and a heap of breakfast foods from Sara's hit the spot. Our waitress mixed up her special blend of hot sauce and mayo for my chicken and waffles, and they also have sugar free syrup for the diabetic types.

Mrs Sara is a foul mouth woman , I complained about the re-cooked French fries that the call "home fries " and her first question was "where you from "

What a charming little restaurant! The breakfast was satisfying and very traditional, I have truly enjoyed the experience. Also, must mention their sweet potato fries,probably the best I had. Our waitress Helen was super sweet and pleasant. If you are ever in the area, please see them!

The Best dinner around Crystal River. The food is very well prepared and taste wonderful. Very homey atmosphere and when on vacation it was a welcomed place to relax and eat. We always make this place a must s stop when going up the coast!!

Don't recommend. Had breakfast and it was horrible. The omelet was greasy and had a nasty afer taste. The biscuit was hard and tasted old like it was sitting around...not fresh. Was upcharged for everything, for cheese on omelet, for biscuit vs toast even though indicated it was included. $40 for two omelets with drinks and one side of bacon. Waitress not very friendly and did not explain about upcharges. Won't be back.

Went there for my friend's birthday, per her request. She loves the meatloaf and her double portion of fried okra. I had fried chicken. Just wish they were open later for those who have to work. My husband would love the food

Don't waste your money on the steak and eggs unless you like chewing on the bottom of your boot. Spent 15 dollars and couldn't get but 2 bites off the steak bc it was nothing but grissle. Won't be back

My husband and I had breakfast at Sara’s when we were in town for a few days. Excellent options to choose from, and amazing service. This is a very laid back place, with good folks working there. Enjoyed our meal, and will definitely stop again when we are back in the area!

Cheap, good and fast, usually you can only get two of those things. Here it's all 3! Largest portion for the cost I've gotten in 3 years post Covid and inflation. If you're driving thru this town you need to stop here. Helen was the nicest waitress and all the patrons were so friendly. Awesome experience and we'll be back. 2 kids and 3 adults $25 pre-tip

We have lived in CR,over 3 years now and this was our first time trying it. We were very pleasantly surprised...will definitely be back.

What a pleasant surprise Sarah's diner proved to be. When I first got there there were plenty of spots available. By the time I left, most were taken but there was overflow around the area. Sarah's food is nice. They do a good job trying to make the food the way you want it. It's actually quite a bit of food and I ended up with a doggy bag. The diner itself is nice. It has a comfortable feeling and the waitress that I had was very sweet. There weren't many people there in the morning and the waitress was the only one working. As the place started to fill up it became more difficult for her but more staff showed up too and that kind of evened things out. I left with a boat full of food. I would recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be coming back.

Five star diner, good basic breakfast options (lunch as well), large portions, bar seating, and a wait staff with a good sense of urgency to get through meal time rushes. It was a good fit for after my early morning manatee tour.

The only negative thing I have to say about this place is I didn't see Sarah. I don't know where she was and I'd like to know you know and meet the person that the place is named after because obviously if I have a complaint that's who I would talk to but she wasn't there. And if I had something really nice to say I would also talk to Sarah because I mean she is the one that could do anything about it anyways . The ladies that work there are extremely nice all over 80 I figured or they looked. They look good still I mean they got around., And I didn't see any of them using a walker. All I'm going to say is it's some home cooked food. It reminds me of back in the day and if you're in a rush this is definitely not what you want to go because they're all in their '80s and it takes so off for them to get the food to you. But you know you get your food at least. And the prices are very reasonable

We are from Orlando and we came to Sara's to meet our cousin's. My sister was there a month ago and raved about how great the food was. She was right!! Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. Great service 👏 Great atmosphere and we will def visit again 😀

1st time eating here. First, let me say our waitress Helen was awesome. Very friendly and checked on us. My husband ordered the traditional club. It had a lot of meat and he said it was excellent. I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Came with provolone cheese, peppers & onions. No mushrooms. It was fine however seemed to need more seasoning. Wasn't crazy about the french fries. Prices were fair for the amount of food we got. $30 with tip. Will go back again.

I really love this diner, for me it's like a little taste of home. I grew up where diners were everywhere. We stopped on for breakfast, and the food was right on point, with a nice atmosphere and friendly service. Personally, this place is my go-to over breakfast station. So if you live here year round or in for vacation, make this one of your stops to eat before you head out on the water.
