My friends live in the Hudson Valley area in NY, and we were celebrating their anniversary. The staff were kind and efficient. They even adjusted the music as different customers arrived. The decor is beautiful, comfortable, whimsical, and surprisingly quiet. Everything we ordered was fresh, unique, and delicious! I ordered the steamed seafood platter with steamed veggies. It was colorful, full of seafood, and fresh with just the right textures for the steamed veggies. I had the largest seaweed salad ever and very shareable. My friends ordered sushi rolls, which were fresh, preparedby the chef quickly, and a delight for the eyes! The garnish was edible flowers! My friend said it's the best sushi she has had on the East Coast! Everyone left satisfied. We can't wait to return!

I recently dined at Sawa Sushi Bistro and had a mixed experience. The food itself was fresh, but both the Sesame Chicken and Orange Chicken were a bit too sweet for my taste. On a brighter note, the Avocado Salad was absolutely delicious. The service was where things got a bit off-balance. The staff seemed to work as a group, which led to a somewhat rushed and impersonal experience. It was a bit overwhelming to have multiple people coming to the table frequently, but then after the food was served, we didn't hear from anyone until it was time to clean up. One thing that detracted from the overall experience was the TV in the dining area, which was tuned to news and political topics. In times like these, it can create unnecessary tension. When dining out, it's nice to have a more relaxed environment. Overall, while the food had some high points, the service and atmosphere could use some improvements to make it a more enjoyable experience.

Atmosphere was excellent. Service was friendly and accurate. Food was impeccably presented and so appetizing. Just passing through this area and so pleased we chose the Sawa Restaurant

Best sushi bistro food in the Albany area. Ate there Saturday night with four friends and we were all knocked out . High quality ingredients perfectly cooked and presented.

This place exceeded my expectations! It’s a cute little sushi spot, the staff is friendly and the food is awesome! My fiancé and I shared 4 special rolls and 2 hot sakes. My favorite roll is the Volcano roll!

Ordered through GrubHub. Not great, not terrible, just okay. Small portions appetizers for the price. Main dish generous. However, everything I have ordered three different times was very greasy.

Sawa Japanese Bistro Glenmont, N.Y. I was extremely disappointed with spicy salmon roll,salmon skin roll,dragon roll. Shrimp tempura roll. Ingredients are fresh but extremely tasteless. The rolls are small and for what you receive is ridiculous in size, price was also expensive for the lack of quality, rolls had very little rice where you see patches of nori and rolls fell apart. Today was a missed opportunity here.

This place is amazing! The food is so good and fresh. The wait staff are not interactive at all. So be prepared for amazing food and good service without a smile.

First time here and really enjoyed the Sushi/Sashimi Lover combo. Truly fresh and naturally tasty. Comes with a miso soup and salad. Servers were friendly and the place was very clean. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. Will definitely be back!

We loved this place the sushi was amazing and the staff is wonderful. We went a second time and tried the Thai dishes and we were not disappointed. Great food and not overpriced.

I received a call back from the owner, who's integrity impressed me. I am changing my review to 4 stars, based upon her intentions to provide customers with consideration and follow up. Salmon was good. Snapper, Bass and mackerel had a pre-frozen texture, and the rice was off. Extra star for the steamed veggies and chicken, otherwise would have been a two star experience.

Sawa has nice ambience with a lot of great specialty rolls. My partner and I visited for the first time and were very pleased. Would be a great spot to bring a date or have a nice meal with family and friends.

Our first time, and e were impressed by the decor, lighting, & food presentation. We were in a rush, &they got us in&out within half an hour, amazing! Only roll which wasn't thoroughly enjoyed was yellowtail.

Food was good , atmosphere was beautiful! Service was not great our table felt rushed from the second we sat down.

Great food! Highly recommend the delicious pineapple fried rice— served in a real half of a pineapple! Servers were attentive and food came out at a reasonable time. Loved the ambiance which included Japanese music, giant murals of fish (koi?) and string of tiny dangling lights that lent an underwater feel to to the place.

Amazing food and service! This place cannot be beat. The food is fresh and always quick to table. You can tell the staff puts so much effort and work into making sure each and every individual has a satisfying experience. My waitress, Wendy, was an absolute delight. She was very personable and informative. This is the gem of Glenmont. 1000% recommend. Great for families or on a first date.

On vacation in the area and friends introduced us to Sawa. Fantastic. Menu is massive and has everything you could possibly want. Everything. Highly recommend.

I like to see my food, their atmosphere is nice but needs more light. Their food is tasty.

Ordered take out as usual. Food is usually pretty good. This time the staff didn’t seem that interested in taking my order, and took very long to give me my completed order when I came back. Would say they could’ve been busy, but they seated two couples that came in after me. Too bad, I enjoyed getting food from here.

Nice solid pan Asian restaurant. Service excellent, food was solid, atmosphere was a little kitschy but we had a nice night out.
