Best sausage I’ve ever had. Got the extra hot. Never buying from the grocery store again now that I know I can get such high quality sausage for a reasonable price. Tried the smoked gouda as well- perfect amount of smoke flavor

If you haven't tried their Hot Stix they're awesome! Very spicy with great flavor. I also love their bacon, very distinct flavor you can't find anywhere else. I strongly recommend this smokehouse !!

I've had Kielbasa and bratwurst in Cleveland and Milwaukee, and this is better that those at the West side market and those at the Brat haus. Real deal!!

I almost called the cops because this place should be illegal. Happened to pass by while they were grilling, so we stopped and got the sausage sandwich and a cheesesteak. Words can't adequately describe how delicious they were. Also stopped inside and got snack sticks and sausage and they were also phenomenal. Will definitely be returning here again and again.

I stopped in bought some beef stick. They were just taking out of the smoker. Never made it home. Ate them all. They were amazing.

They are soo friendly. Love their grilling on the weekend, you can have a meal. They have strudels, nut & poppyseed rolls. Awesome place 👍

One of the best Sausage Shops around! I buy my Sausages there a couple times a year and mainly around Thanksgiving and Christmas! Very friendly staff and they are very helpful when it comes to your indecisiveness. I've been going to them since I was little with my parents.

We just ordered catering trays for Thanksgiving because we want to share their delicious cooked meats with our families. Their food is consistently good. Buy the holiday blend sausage. Get a daily meal special while you’re there.

If you are from Steelton than you know what schmidt's is about. Absolutely the best hands down. Great prices, legendary food. Our pork roast seasoned by them in the crock pot with the holiday sausage was insanely good. Sauerkraut and mashed potatoes... my god... Do not hesitate to stop here, you will not be disappointed!

Best sausage anywhere. They have ground sausage, too, which makes amazing smash burgers. Through some smoked Gouda on top and game over. Always stocking up through the summer. Highly recommend.

What's not to like about good smoked sausage? I've never been disappointed. You have to buy some baked hoods from Mohn's bakery too.

I haven't had fresh sauerkraut this good since my husband's Uncle Charles used to make his own, lol. Paired with fresh, perfectly seasoned smoked sausage, and other in store treats, what more could you want?

Schmidt's is the best place to go for homemade pork products and sauerkraut. The cheese and apple strudel wasn't extra treat New Years Day morning. I bought a pork shoulder butt roast and they offered to season it. I thought sure why not. It smelled so good the whole way home, I could not wait to cook it. We put the roast in an agate roaster surrounded by their homemade sauerkraut with a link of holiday sausage on top. Don't forget apple slices and some fresh sage from the garden. Cover and roast 300 degrees for up to 3 hours. That was the best meal with mashed potatoes! I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I bought 2 sour heads for Dec.25 and they were great. Bought 2 more for the 7th and made them up today, just tried one and they are so salty, it ruined all the pigs. I never have any complaints about your shop but just thought I would let you know.

Pretty good sausages and other items. I really liked the dried hot sticks, dried hot sausage and pigs in a blanket. All were good. Don't go there while you're hungry! Great products and great people.

Fantastic family owned business. I have never have had something that wasn't excellent from Schmidt's Sausage Shop. If you are planning on getting anything for around the holidays, plan early. The place can get packed, sometimes with a line out the door. Stop going to the grocery store for your sausage, bacon and even sauerkraut! Once you have had Schmidt's ... you will question yourself why you even bought these items at a grocery store in the past! Check out their website or Facebook page to see what seasonal items they are offering. And on Fridays they even do a take out lunch special which is a great deal!

If you want smoked meat. If you want the regions best bacon. If you want all the eastern European foods you ever imagined than stop by. My kids love their bacon and honey sausage. I love their smoked sopresseta (spelling not included in this review) they are plenty of helpful members of their counter staff to guide you to a meat extravaganza.

My husband loves the jerky here. But it's overpriced in my opinion.

I'm making baked beans right now. I use 1 of the extra hot sausages along with a honey sausage and bacon and onions . It's like the best baked beans ever. Just 1 sausage extra hot is enough to give it just the right bite of spicy flavor.

The young man that waited on me and my friend was extremely nice and patient with us. It was my first time there and when I opened the door, the delicious smell was unbelievable. The showcases had amazing products in them. I ended up with cabbage rolls, spicy sticks, hot sausages, mild sausages, a nut roll, original sausages. There is something for everyone there. I will definitely be back. I want to wish the young man a Happy Birthday again.

My mom grew up in Steelton and enjoyed the holiday blend every year. When she and my dad moved to New York before I was born, she missed having it. But When we were lucky, aunts and uncles would visit from Pennsylvania and bring some, and we always loved it! I now live in Pennsylvania and will continue this tradition in honor of my mom, who I lost this year. Keep up the good work, guys! I love this stuff!

Great sausage, can’t beat it. Had them ship it and a few nut rolls to Florida. I had to call several times over a few days before I no longer got the standard phone message (and full mailbox). But its the holidays, things happen.

My family and I have enjoyed their sausages and sauerkraut for years. Now that we eat Schmidt's homemade kraut, i cant eat any other brand. Nothing compares to Schmidt's. We enjoy the variety of sausage flavors and consider it a bonus when we stop by and find smoked cheese!

The sandwich specials are the greatest! Quality smoked ribs or sausages, and specially breaded chicken (depending upon the week), fresh cut french fries, a side of cole slaw, and a beverage! Outside seating with umbrellas. This family owned well-run business is the best around! I always leave with some delicious item(s) to cook at home.

We had their Friday Special of foot long sausage for just $5.00. Asked for sauerkraut on sausage and it was all homemade except for roll, which was fresh and soft. They do a great job.

Awesome lunch specials! The staff is always lively and kind. Few minor things stole the fifth star: Packaging, sausage buns can at times end up soggy by the time you get to where you're eating. Price: lunch specials great value, meat/sticks/ other items a bit pricey Cash only, there is an ATM available, but still a slight inconvenience. None of these things have ever hindered me from grabbing lunch from Schmidts, love it!

The best sausage and salamis around. They are friendly and kind. They always treat me like family. My girlfriend wanted a shirt with their business on. They didn't have any. The owners daughter actually gave her one she had . Talk about the shirt off your back. Great people. Great sausage.

This is by far the best butcher shop around. There isn't anything I don't like. In my recent visit I stopped in for the $5 foot long sausage sandwich. (Friday only) You can get it with mustard, onions, and their homemade sauerkraut. I wasn't going to be eating it right away so I got it plain. I also got some smoked sausage to make Haluski and bacon. Once you try their bacon you will never want store bought bacon again. If you haven't been there yet, you don't know what you are missing.
