Went with son to get a repair done on a guitar! What an outstanding place! Totally great atmosphere and Joel did a great job! Totally recommend!

What these people did to my family heirloom is an absolute disgrace. There are NO competent luthiers here. If you need some work done that requires little to no carpentry, you might get lucky. Otherwise, you are in for a nightmare. I can't speak lowly enough of this organization. My girlfriend was on her death bed so I just took the guitar and left. Now, a guitar I couldn't even look at anymore, never mind play, is worthless. The action is almost unplayable, the intonation is terrible , a $675 bridge replacement was an abortion. My advise is, if you need work on your guitar, send it back to the manufacturer. This place is a disaster. I can't believe they would let something out of their shop in this condition. There is no integrity here. It is just a patina on a rotten organization. I'm beyond yelling at them. Someone there needs a good beating. It took me time to get to this. The only good thing is that people have been warned. I CAN'T LET SEVEN Cs BOGUS RESPONSE GO UNCORRECTED. THE ACTION ON MY GUITAR WAS SO BAD AND THE INTONATION IS SO FAR OFF THAT IT IS OBVIOUS THERE IS NO WAY YOU COULD EVER GET IT RIGHT. YOU HAVE MANY SATISFIED CUSTOMERS BECAUSE A CAVE MAN COULD DO WHAT THEY HAD DONE. YOU ARE NOT LUTHIERS AND YOU DESTROYED MY GUITAR.

He worked on my EVH Eruption 1978 guitar and did a I thought was a impossible set up. But Nope I got it back and never sounded better. It's a amazing guitar now and a joy to play. Eddie would be proud of the quality of work that was done there.

Seven C Music and Coffee is an AWESOME music store and cafe. My girlfriend and I visited a few weeks ago and we really enjoyed the beautiful store layout with cafe. They have private smaller rooms for their acoustic high end models, and I got to sit and play several models of Collings and Martin guitars that I could only dream about playing. It was very relaxing too. David, one of the owners, came in and we enjoyed a nice conversation. He was very sweet and welcoming. I got to briefly meet his son, Joel, another owner of the store. He was very kind and you could tell he knew his stuff. I look forward to bringing my guitars down to Seven C Music for hardware upgrades in the near future. If I ever need anything repaired, I know they’re the place to go. I didn’t catch Joel’s wife’s name, but she was very welcoming the moment we walked in. Great staff. They are all very family oriented. If your significant other doesn’t like being “dragged” to music stores, this place will certainly change their mind. My girlfriend enjoyed her book and some delicious coffee in the cafe area, while I played in the private acoustic room. She said she enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and it made for an awesome Saturday afternoon. The coffee is great too. We brought home some whole bean coffee home. They are about a 2 hour drive from where I live, but are absolutely worth the drive. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re ever in the area. I look forward to visiting again, soon. -Allen

One of my favorite coffee shops in town! The coffee is amazing and I especially love their London Fog. Incredible atmosphere with tons of comfy chairs and tables to bring your laptop or guitar and do work. I highly recommend trying ANY of the baked goodies they have from a local baker. They are soooo good! They also have live music performances throughout the month. Go grab a coffee and shop for a new guitar!

My heart is so full. I have to tell you about an amazing set of experiences I’ve had recently. For my Tampa Bay musician friends, you already know all about this place, and yes, I’m REALLY late to the party, but let’s talk about Seven C Music. My very first experience with Seven C was on Feb 17th of this year (I know, I KNOW!!! 😊). at the Clive Carroll concert. Clive is a name familiar to any fingerstyle guitar fan. I was so impressed by the vibe of the place; it is very “Asheville”. It is so calming, welcoming, intimate, and friendly. Of course, the concert was magnificent, but that’s only a small slice of what I’m here to tell you about. I decided that night to cycle all my guitars that needed work through their repair shop. Some had not had any work done in years, and most had NEVER had a professional hand on them. One by one (OK, two by two! 😊), I put my Avian Songbird, my Luna Vicki Genfan Signature, My Yamaha NTX700 nylon string, my Washburn 335 copy, my 2000 Mexican Strat, my Yamaha 12 string, and finally my beloved 1983 Peavey Foundation bass thought for setups and other work. I also put daughter Abby’s Ibanez electric and Ibanez piccolo guitar through. Most of the work was routine, falling under the scope of their regular setup fee (plus restringing, of course). The Washburn needed a new pickup switch. The bass needed more work that I’ll detail in a moment. The 12-string was almost unplayable, and I didn’t think it could be rescued. Boy, was I wrong. The work Seven C does is pure MAGIC. Without exception, everything came back playing better than any of them ever had, even when new. The care and kindness that David, Joel, Amanda, Marie, and the rest of the crew showed both me and my instruments was beyond exceptional. They listen to you, and help you arrive at exactly what you and your instruments need. I have carpal tunnel in both hands, and I asked for extra low actions on everything, and they are all like butter. The Strat can change notes just breathing on it 😊. Now let’s talk about my bass. I bought it new on December 31st of 1983, and it needed more significant neck work than all the others. The problem was that the truss rod nut was unreachable even with the proprietary wrench made for it (it’s a very narrow neck, and the truss rod hole has very little clearance, so it takes a super thin-walled extended socket). The truss rod nut was almost halfway to the second fret! David had to cut away part of the fingerboard at the first fret, route out some clearance in the truss rod channel, get access to the nut, install spacers, and then rebuild the fretboard. The result is a neck that is flat, smooth, and accurate - for the first time in 40 years. It really does play better than new. This is craftsmanship of the very highest order, and I’m 100% certain that I was charged FAR less than the number of hours that were actually put into the instrument. The pricing is utterly fair and reasonable for everything. David cares. His team cares. I cannot recommend them more highly for ANY repair/setup work you need. Sometimes, there is a little bit of a wait. Most of my babies were gone for a week, and a couple of them were gone for two weeks. Trust me, it is worth every moment. This is about quality and care. On top of all that, it is a supremely hip coffee shop. The sights, smells, and sounds are a tonic for the nerves, and 7C is an absolutely wonderful place to spend a Saturday morning meeting great people, having great conversations, and immersing yourself in music. That Strawberry Lemonade Tea is divine. And yes, I was late to the party, but what’s important is that I showed up at all. I am so glad I did. You will be, too. 😊

Seven Cs was very professional and helpful. I sent in a parts guitar to them and they returned it very playable! It’s also a cool place to grab a coffee or beer! I highly recommend!

A friend and I were visiting from NJ. Both of us play guitar and we both love coffee. This place was like a dreamland for us. We are a bit self conscious playing in public so neither of us played the guitars, but we admired some very beautiful acoustic (and a few electric) custom guitars. I overheard some customers coming in with their instruments and interacting with (who we assumed were) the luthiers, and it was fascinating to listen to them talk about some of the old guitars that were brought in. They were clearly very knowledgeable. I would not hesitate to bring my guitars to this place if I needed service or setup. One of the employees was doing setups of some guitars (action, intonation, etc.) out in the open space behind the counter, which was extremely cool to see, and fascinating. She clearly knew what she was doing. I wish we lived closer, because I would be at this place every day!

Amazing coffee, great batista, alot of good music and guitars, freshly roasted coffee, nice ambience. Cozy... I have been to a few places nothing like this. This is special.

I recently took a antique family guitar in for evaluation and service. I appreciate the honesty and forthrightness, having been told my guitar was repairable, but the cost of the repairs would vastly exceed the value of the guitar. Other shops might try to underrepresent the work needed, then hit you up with a surprise service bill afterward. Thank you, Joel!

I attended a concert here and the whole experience was great. The venue, the staff and the performance

The quality of the work is good. The quality of the communication and the surprise price increases is not good. Had guitars serviced here twice. First time i was quoted $X for the service and it was double when i picked it up. Second time i was quoted $X for service and told it would be two to three weeks. Ended up taking six weeks and they charged me triple the quote when i picked it up. I called every week after the three week mark and at no time was the "discovery" of the broken brace explained to me nor the price increase. Dissatisfied with the communication, unlikely to return or recommend.

MY experience could have been better. I had my guitar refretted, waited about 4 weeks, which is fine, but when I got it back it had a buzz on the A string..C note. Pretty obvious to me, and other player who tried it. Joel blamed it on the saddle being the wrong radius. I was a little surprised that a set up would not be normally done with a refret in the first place. Anyway, neck was adjusted which raised the action whic I didn't like so a new saddle was ordered. He worked on the new saddle, but the top B and E strings ended up unplayable, being too low..so I am left once again with higher than optimal action on the low strings and low break over saddle on the B&E..geesh. Maybe the frets should have been checked when I broughtit back? That was not questioned. Do you normally set up a guitar with new fret replacement?

Had a setup and neck reset done today on a Taylor GT Urban Ash. The results are amazing! I will never attempt to service any of my guitars myself again. If your guitar is not playing to your satisfaction, bring it here and don't worry about it again.

Can't say enough good things about this shop. Evan is a great dude and an awesome luthier. Did a Fishman install for my Ibanez 8 string, and the work is incredibly professional and clean as a whistle. Completed in a very timely manner given the holidays, and fair price too. You can trust these homies with your gear 100%!

This place has THE BEST coffee! They roast the beans meticulously. Daily. It's a serene place for meeting up and gives extra zen to your day. Everyone there is wonderful! I love going back again and again. 11/10 stars

Everyone here is knowledgeable, helpful, their prices are more than reasonable (actually very competitive) for top quality musical instruments, gear, and service. The luthiers are terrific, turn work around quickly, and are some of the best I've seen in the country. A St. Pete gem and where I bring (and on occasion buy) my treasured instruments. Highly recommend!

Expert and friendly. Joel knows what he's doing. I thought my American Strat needed a new neck -- at least that's what the last guitar tech who looked at it said. When I brought it to Seven C, Joel Hosler, co-owner and master luthier, spent 20-30 minutes looking it over, tweaking the setup and dialing it in, going back and forth until he solved the buzzing issue and a few other problems. And I left the shop with a great guitar for less than I expected to pay for an assessment of the problem. I was in awe of what he was able to accomplish in a short period of time. Joel knows his stuff. I will be back with all my other guitars.

What a great place to just go and hang for a bit. Took my friends Taylor T5 there because it had completely stopped working day of a 9/11 Memorial service we were doing. A quick look over and cleaning and we were on our way. Coffee bistro, wine and pastries. Wanted to just sit and watch who might come in and start playing. If you're into guitars this is the place to go. Thank you Joel.

I love 7c and they are great in many ways. Great coffee, great luthiers, awesome acoustic selection, etc. I initially put 4 stars due to some customer service related issues but they easily deserve 5 stars with the outstanding response with my concern. This is the kind of shop that is worth coming back to because it’s that special.

I own a store myself so I know what it takes to get it right. I can't say enough nice things about this place. My wife and I felt welcomed the moment I walked in. I was encouraged to try anything I wanted and ended up spending two hours there drinking coffee, talking to Dave, getting a tour of the shop and playing guitars. We just went in to check the place out and get a coffee and I ended up buying a new guitar! Looking forward to going back next time I'm in town.

My new favorite place. For the longest time while living in NJ, I used to have my guitars serviced by a particular fellow who eventually retired. I could never find another place like his until discovering Seven C Music. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone and everyone. Skilled at what they do and very friendly. My only gripe is that I wish I lived closer than an hour away. If I did, I'd spend much more time just hanging out.

My husband and I had the honor to participate in the monthly art walk festival here. Not only was it the best venue that he and I performed at, but it had all of my husband's boxes checked for any needs for his guitars, whether it be maintenance or future purchases. The owners and staff were extremely nice and accommodating.

This is the best guitar shop I have ever been to. The owner is personable, professional and easy to talk to. The luthiers are “top shelf!”

I took my guild starfire VI in for a before sale adjusting and it was looked over by the owner. He looked at some Finnish cracks and found one by the f-hole that went through, he applied some glue to stabilize the issue, and after inspecting the neck and bridge found it to be solid and did not need any additional work. And did not charge me for the inspection. Everyone is friendly and busy not to mention the space inside is open an unobstructed. I look forward to coming back. Thanks to 7 C's

A friend of mine, who was a producer for some of the top bands in my lifetime, recommended that I take my two vintage guitars, that I’ve had for years, to Seven C Music for new strings and setup. When I got them back I was blown away. These guitars never played so good. The sound and sustain was amazing and the overall feel and playability was incredible. What a fantastic place to buy a guitar or have one repaired. You can drop it off and know that it will be right as it can be when it’s done. Don’t think twice about leaving you guitar with them. Top drawer Luthiers and a back room that’s unbelievable. Full of any tool they need to complete a project. I’ve seen instruments from the last century in there being completely refurbished. Great place!

Seven C Music is one of the most impressive guitar shops I've seen. The shop decked out with a live stage, cafe, repair center, and loads of great guitars! Seven C has a huge range of Taylor guitars and plenty of great electric guitar and amplifiers. The staff are super-nice and I can highly recommend this store. Check it out! A+

I drove an hour to have my Taylor serviced. It was so worth it. THey had me back on the road in 20 minutes. Everyone is so friendly and the store is beuatiful with a full inventory of great guitars. I could just hang out there all day if I had the time. I will be back with my other high end instruments

I cannot say enough great things about Seven C music. I brought a Martin LX1 guitar in there that another luthier had made a mess of. This guitar is very special to me. I have severe arthritis in my hands and this short scale guitar was very easy to play as well as having a very special and unique sound. I play it so much that I have almost worn a hole in the top and frets need replaced. The first luthier I took this guitar to replaced the frets and returned the guitar to me. It was no longer playable. The action was higher There were many dead frets The nut was too high and first position chords hurt my hands after a few minutes. The saddle was shaved down to almost nothing The sound amplified was no longer special. I was afraid the guitar was ruined. I took the guitar to Seven C and told Joel what happened. He took the time to listen and inspect the guitar. He quickly determined what was needed and gave me a very reasonable quote on repairing this guitar. I just got it back today. Amanda was the luthier that did the work on it. It is INCREDIBLE!!! It plays and sounds better than before!!! The action is perfect and the tone is perfect! She even did extra work that was not quoted. I can’t tell you how thankful I am. I have been playing this guitar every weekend gigging for years and I was sure it was done for. I am so grateful to Amanda and Joel for being very skilled and caring in their work! THANK YOU!!!!

It is imperative to visit Seven C Music if you’re looking to buy a guitar or even sell your guitar(s). They don’t buy your guitar on the spot and you’ll have to wait until they sell it but I got a much better amount for 2 guitars i consigned even after their commission and will never sell my gear to those “big box” stores again. Joel and staff are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and polite and after a couple of trips I bought a beautiful Taylor AD22e, stress and pressure free. Plus they have great weekend shows and their coffee is the best! Very glad I was able to find a “true” store to service my gear at too!

Bought my dream guitar here a Taylor 8 series 12 fret. I bring it in every year for a resting and when the guitar was damaged during a flight. The artistry of the repair was exceptional.

David & Hunter took their time evaluating my guitar’s needs, explained planned costs and timetable, then made it play better than new!
