Beautiful property. Walking distance to news restaurants, including brewery, food trucks, and antique shop. Hidden gem on old 41. There are many Hispanic hanging out at the park nearby, but they're harmless.

We used Shangri-La Springs for my daughters wedding last month and it was just wonderful. From the very beginning they were helpful and accommodating. When the original person that we started with wasn't there anymore, the new person Jacqueline couldn't have been better. They really did do everything they could to make our experience a happy and positive one. We even held our farewell breakfast there the next morning and it was fabulous. The caterers lost the leftover wedding cake which was about 2/3rds of a large cake and Shangri-La did everything they could to help, but in the end it turns out the caterers probably threw it away. I highly recommend Shangri-La as a wedding venue. Thank you Shangri-La for everything you did!

Shangri-La Springs was the site for both our wedding ceremony and reception. The property is beautiful and stunned our guests with its verdant beauty and serenity, even locals who had not visited before. We visited the property roughly a dozen times throughout the planning of our wedding and it's been a highlight of our weekend each time. We've enjoyed the majesty of the mighty Mysore Fig trees and Spanish Moss, lovely lunches from Harvest and Wisdom, pop-up events and vendors, and even a gentle manatee swimming in the creek that splits the visitor side of the property from the organic garden. The wonder of Old Florida and Old 41 are alive and well at Shangri-La Springs.

Lovely brunches at Shangri La, followed by strolls on the picturesque grounds, has been a cherished tradition for my boyfriend and I on the weekends. With the imminent arrival of a new addition to our family Shangri La was our initial choice in a place to learn the gender of our baby, a prelude to our upcoming baby shower (next year) which we had also hoped to have here. Shangri La, being open to the public to explore at their leisure, made this an obvious choice for a modest gender reveal involving only our immediate family of 4 - a 15 minute affair, beneath the iconic fig tree, capturing the essence of the moment, we'd learn the gender. Yet, the seemingly innocuous term "gender reveal" triggered a chain of events contrary to our expectations. Despite our attempts to clarify that this was NOT an elaborate event, or an event at all, but a private gathering of 4 people during "open hours", the event coordinator insisted on categorizing it as such, necessitating their involvement. To ensure courtesy and avoid any potential conflicts we reached out to Shangri La only to find the path to a straightforward answer fraught with multiple phone calls & emails - all of which went unanswered. Astonishingly, (day of our reveal) the resounding "no" finally arrived after yet another phone call that WE MADE. The reason for the "no" was because "events need to be scheduled (and presumably paid for) a year in advance." I'm not sure how many times we can reiterate that this was NOT an event, nor something that required the assistance of anyone who works there. It was simply a family of 4, learning the gender in an intimate setting under a tree - capturing the moment via photos and video. How does one schedule a gender reveal a year in advance? I wasn't pregnant a year ago! What are we booking - 15 minutes of rent space under a tree open to the public? Your services to take our cameras from our capable hands and take the photos for us? The unexplained delay left us in a limbo, as the day was quickly approaching. Day of - we still hadn't heard back just hours prior. I called YET AGAIN (despite multiple assurances that our calls and emails would be returned) - only to get the very answer they could have given us from the beginning. Their total lack of response complicated our planning process so much so that we had to push back the reveal by a few days (as the envelope stared at me from the table even longer as I anxiously await opening it). The lack of response regarding our gender reveal moment was also accompanied by a total lack of responsiveness to our inquiries regarding next year's baby shower as well. While Shangri La admittedly exudes an ambiance of sophistication, the same cannot be said for their customer service. A clear response in a reasonable timeframe befitting their purported high-end status, was regrettably absent. This experience has cast a shadow over our once favored weekend brunch spot at Harvest & Wisdom. A touch of responsiveness / consideration particularly from the events coordinator was lacking. I realize a gathering of 4 people that require no assistance is not a moneymaker and perhaps she devotes her attention only to events that matter, such as weddings however, learning the gender of our child in a place we love mattered to US. We shouldn't have to chase someone for a "no". Very long story short, we did the reveal elsewhere, it was a 15 minute, seamless ordeal, remaining intimate without the imposed upon assistance from a stranger we didn't need it from. To be perfectly clear, a no (no matter how nonsensical) would have been received much better had we not been made to jump through multiple hoops just to get it. A 2 minute phone call to say "no" would have sufficed. Or even a return email (after my multiple) to let me know that my inquiry had been received. This place was radio silent on all counts. P.S. - This review doesn't reflect my experience with the wait staff at Harvest & Wisdom (or the friendly man at the front desk), as they've all been lovely and the food is great.

We have had lunch at Shangri-La twice in the past 6 weeks. Lunch was delicious each time. The restaurant is experiencing the same problems as all restaurants seem to be having... Staffing.... But the chef is excellent and well worth the wait.

We held our wedding and reception at Shangri-La Springs at the end of April. Tracy was a great help with all the details and set up the day of our wedding. Our guests were mostly from out of town and loved the beauty and zen of the venue. We were married at the center courtyard under the Fig Tree, and it was so Gorgeous. Our reception was in the Octagon Room, which was perfect for our dinner and dancing. Thank you, Shangri-La for making our day extra special.

I can't rate the rooms as I didn't stay here as a hotel, but attended a wedding. Beautiful gardens and a great venue for a wedding

My husband and I had a couples massage here earlier in March. I love getting massages, and am quite attuned to those that are mediocre vs excellent. Let me tell you, Joseph at ShangriLa was THE BEST!! He really listens to your concerns and works with attention to detail- knots, stretching tight areas, etc. give this man a raise- he is just fantastic!! Additionally , we throughly enjoyed the environment and surroundings, steam room and sauna. Facilities were clean, ambiance was very peaceful. My husband and I had our wedding here 4 years ago so Shangri La is a special place for us! Definitely check it out. Their dining is fantastic too!

Had lunch here once .. it was good . Nice family atmosphere.. and the outdoor environment lots of growing evergreen trees and nice landscaping. Nice to hangout and watch the garden area , while red your fave book . Tomorrow I’m schedule for my spa and massage appointment with Olivia . More report after. ….. well finally get back to dropping a review when I said I have a massage scheduled on March 3 . Olivia was my Masseuse. I gave her 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. She really did well … . I will make appointment with Olivia again … when days permits. & be back in town .

We love taking our real estate clients seeking their new home in Bonita to Shangri-La. This is the best kept secret in all of SWFL. The restaurant staff is friendly, the food is amazing (and fresh since many of the menu items are grown on-site), & the grounds are peaceful and serene.

I had the best day at this lovely property. My BFF and I enjoyed a fantastic yoga class under a huge, beautiful Banyan tree. Then we enjoyed a delicious lunch afterward. The atmosphere is a quiet and comfortable elegance. They have ann organic garden and many unusual plantings. Reportedly, the garden tours are amazing. We will definitely be back!

Great place for lunch and beautiful landscaping. They have lot of events that go on here and the grounds are wonderful. Old time feel and perfect suites to get ready in for a wedding. We enjoy coming here often and it's very peaceful.

Arts show with Jazz. Relaxing and interesting experience. The gardens are well maintained and worth strolling through. The property is well maintained and refreshing to see the restoration is preserving the hotels essence. Worth the time for a relaxing evening stroll.

City brochure states the springs on this property is where Bonita Springs got its name. If that is true, then it's a shame the Springs are fenced off to the public. Thank you, Sangri-La Springs, for your response. Is there any announcement or signs stating that the public is welcome to walk the grounds? Is there any signs stating the public is allowed to park on the premises?

My wife and I attended a wonderful Art & Soul event featuring live music, entertainment, an artisan market as well as food and beverages. A beautiful campus that would make a great celebration venue. We could not have asked for a better evening to attend this well organized event. The staff was great..

We had services at the Spa and brunch in their dining room. All four of us had wonderful experiences and the service and food were excellent. We would highly recommend it. We did not stay at the resort but the grounds were amazing

FOOD POISONING & Bugs Me and my hubby went to this hotel, at first it was a very nice ambiance and feel but then later on I've noticed there were some bugs flying around. Not only one bug but there was plenty. But we ignored it as it is the type of bug that flies around a light so when we turned the light off they would go away eventually. Morning the next day, we had breakfast around 0840 and had some waffles. I noticed a weird taste with the waffles and realized it was bad. We both had it but we didn't finished eating since weird taste. We went in other place around the area in search for breakfast instead. After 30 minutes to an hour we started not feeling well. Nauseated, diarrhea, and vomiting. My husband had checked the food with the staff and the food was really bad and the stench came right after the staff opened it. It was left there all along. We had to buy lots of medicine- imodium, pepto bismol, white flower and etc. We had to go through all that. We were sick for 4-5 days and the experience was too far terrible. The damage in our health was way too bad that the refund wasn't enough for the trouble it have caused us. Yes, we were food poisoned because of the negligence of the staff and of the food that was being served as complimentary breakfast.

I had lunch in the restaurant today which I do quite often since I live in the neighborhood year-round. Evidently they have a new chef.. Menu with your vegan burger which is now beans and rice on a bun, not good! I ordered the Thai soup for an appetizer the waitress told me it was vegan I tasted it and I could tell if it was not and I said is there any broth in this? She said oh yes there’s chicken broth in it well that is not vegan I ended up getting sick after leaving the restaurant. They had no potatoes or sides to go with any of their dishes. All in all I was extremely disappointed on my way out I paid the man at the desk said how was everything? I said not good ! He said ohh. That was it! This restaurant has had many struggles since they opened they finally got all of the kinks worked out and it was such an amazing place now I would not recommend it to anyone!

We hosted our wedding at Shangri-La in December of 2022. Despite having some damage from the hurricane, Shangri-La was beautiful and the team did everything they could to make the day perfect. Tracy was especially helpful and knowledgeable. We appreciated the valet staying open late and all the little things she helped coordinate. And, the venue is gorgeous. We got tons of compliments on the beauty, history and space overall. People loved that the event was able to take over the entire space. It also has a fantastic bridal suite. Love the old Florida feel - We’d do it again in a heartbeat.

We visited this venue for an engagement celebration and it was absolutely awesome! Everyone was was so kind and helpful. Excellent experience!!

What a fantastic half day gateway right in our beautiful downtown! Robert and staff surround you with your every need. Joseph is your massage guy and Michelle is your facial expert! Well worth every cent that you have earned to go there!

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Shangri-la's restaurant. We did not stay overnight just went there for lunch. It was such a delight. The food was fabulous and organic. Everything was delicious and the dessert was fabulous too! I highly recommend for great food, great service and beautiful surroundings.

Absolutely wonderful!!! Everyone on staff was friendly and hospitable. Even the housekeeper remembered me from the day before and greeted me in the morning. I was running late for my check-in and Kristen called to make sure I was ok. The night Security Guard was welcoming and chatted for a while giving great local info on restaurants and things to do. Even the groundskeepers stopped their machines to chat. Can I give a 6th start for service?? The facility? A beautiful, modern, and earthy renovation of a unique 1920's facility. Amazing. The grounds? Stunning. My only lament is that I didn't schedule enough time to get a massage. If I'm ever back in the area I will certainly be staying at the Shanri-La and will definitely be booking a massage. Have already recommended to several friends.

We spent a wonderful spa day at this location! Staff we very nice and did everything to accommodate our needs. The grounds are absolutely beautiful..the walk takes no more than 30 minutes. I don't think paying for the tour would have made me happy! The massage was called a Swedish, Zen. Ask for Raven! She was excellent! I will definitely be returning when I am back in town!

You can spend time exploring the grounds which are maintained by both staff members and a professional plant service or joining classes such as yoga. A beautiful place to meditate, have a picnic, meeting, or wedding. Within walking distance to local restaurants, cafes, and coffee shops.

My husband Chris and I married at Shangri-La Springs on October 1, 2021. During our original visit to the venue we knew this was the place for us. Just the fact that you are the only event was really a selling point for us. We had a small 60 person event, and use the front lawn for our ceremony, mermaid fountain for our cocktail hours, and to keep out catering costs down, we used the pool area behind the Long House for our reception. The bridal suite was such a nice place to relax prior to the ceremony, and it doesn't hurt that I was able to watch through the window while our guests arrived. Tracy was amazing to work with. Always so responsive and helpful! We did have some on and off again showers the morning of the ceremony, but Tracy was able to touch base with the bridal party to work through any plan B options. Luckily, we were able to do everything originally planned. Shangri-La Springs is such a beautiful venue and I hope to have future events there.

Gorgeous grounds to wander around. Hope the main house, restaurant, spa, gift shop... are able to reopen soon so the resort can be both a locals and tourist destination in addition to an event venue.

I had the great opportunity to host my wedding at Shangri La Springs last weekend and I am beyond blown away! Tracy, the event coordinator, was such a pleasure to work with. She was so helpful and sweet from the first moment she gave me a tour to my wedding day. I recommend this venue to anyone looking for a dynamic space and peaceful ambiance. I was able to have an outdoor ceremony at the most charming butterfly garden gazebo and then transition my reception to their "Long House" which is just perfect- wooden antique door, double doors, beautiful terracotta tile. Thank you Tracy for helping me create the wedding of my vision!

We had our micro wedding at Shangri-La Springs on Saturday. It could not have been better. Tracy was amazing to work with and the beautiful setting was breathtaking. We did our ceremony under the gazebo.. it was so perfect. Thank you again.

I had my wedding here and Cindy was great to work with and very accommodating with some last minute changes. My family and guests enjoyed this venue, another plus is that its great for pictures/videos.

I can't speak for every massage therapist there, but as for Olivia...FIVE STARS PLUS. She is a healer. I have had many massages at some of the top spas in the world and she is fantastic. I had a deep tissue massage. She asked thoughtful questions and her instincts are amazing. I left feeling like true healing work had been done on my body. Would highly recommend. Also, the facilities and grounds are spectacular. The calming experience begins when you step foot on the property. They provide all the amenities from a steam room and sauna, outdoor quiet garden, to flavored water and plush robes and sandals.

Dinner menu is a set menu & prices with limited choices plus it was extra for other choices on the "set menu"! Portions size was quite small, chocolate dessert was not worth the calories and no tea or coffee offered. Guitar player was great however, it was short as he was gone before we finished dinner. The salad was good, grounds are pretty and the experience of the property was enjoyable in a nice relaxing setting with the gardens. I would come back for lunch only.

Such a cool place. Great energy and history. The trees are magnificent and I especially love the mermaid statue at the spring. Excellent organic food and events. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates historical places and holistic health.

Cindy is amazing! She was there every step of the way with helping organize my wedding. She guided me through many options without overwhelming me and helped when I had a hiccup with a vendor and her staff stepped in on short notice. Her experience, organization and prompt email response time made planning my wedding a breeze. I could not have had a perfect wedding day without her help. Shangri La will forever be a magical place to both my husband and me. A million thank yous will not be enough for the staff here, however here is one more: THANK YOU!

We shot a wedding at this venue earlier this year and enjoyed it so much! It was a gorgeous venue and the tree where the ceremony took place was amazing! Highly recommend!

Very charming. We took the tour and also enjoyed an exquisite lunch. If you don't feel like taking the tour, you must visit the restaurant for lunch. The food is outstanding! You can walk the grounds after lunch. The staff is extremely friendly. I look forward to trying out the spa on my next visit.

Beautiful, charming location for a special event. We had a group of 65 people for dinner. The octagon room was a perfect fit with nice lighting and proper noise level. Staff attitude was very positive and attentive. They solved every last mn problem we created with speed and efficiency. I would highly recommend the venue. I am also waiting for the opening of their new restaurant. It should be fantastic.

Excellent venue for any event, but especially great for weddings. Historical hotel, with a dining room. Beautiful landscaping, with a pool area, long room and a octagon shaped room. Gazebo for ceremonies, amazing giant Banyan trees, a natual mineral spring, and creek. It's a one of a kind event location unlike any other venue!!!
