Loved it. Nice people and great food.

Upon arrival at Shark's Fish House, we were welcomed with a warm smile and promptly seated. The restaurant offered enticing specials alongside their regular menu. We enjoyed the crispy, hand-breaded shrimp basket, which was perfectly fried and served with fries, fresh, creamy coleslaw, and hush puppies. The hand-battered fried fish basket was also excellent, accompanied by onion rings and coleslaw. Our server, Ashley, was warm and friendly, making us feel like part of the family. I highly recommend this family-owned establishment for its high-quality food and exceptional service.

Great food, and the staff were even better.

Sharks is a fish fry house that's been in North Port for at least a decade by this point, and while there are other, bigger restaurants in town, the simplicity of this place, combined with the friendly demeanor of the staff, makes this one of the nicer places to eat in town. Very quiet and calm, sees a majority older folk customer base, highly recommended if you want a peaceful meal.

Always stop here on the way back home to Fort Myers. Amazing food. Everyone here is so friendly and makes you feel like family.

Ash was friendly and efficient. Grilled and blackened haddock fillets and shrimp worked well. I would have chosen the basket but they only have fried options. Quite a lot of the groups seemed to be regulars.

Food was really good. Coleslaw is amazing. Portion sizes were perfect.

This is the Restaurant with the best quality/price in the region for fish. I ate the best crab cake and grilled haddock. The other day I ate one of the best fish and chips. Unpretentious restaurant but excellent food!

We were on our way back home to Ft Myers from Venice Beach and wanted seafood for lunch. Stopped at the most quaint, friendly restaurant for some amazing seafood. It was such a homey place I felt like I was eating with family instead of feeling like a number at chain restaurants. Will make this our go to place when going to Venice. Can't say enough good things except support your local mom and pop businesses.❤️

Quiet little spot for fish and chips. Prices are reasonable and the fillets are pretty big. Most everything is deep fried. Great spot for lunch.

If you are looking for great food, large portions, and at a very reasonable price, then Sharks is for you. Owner, Anne, has owned this restaurant for 22 years, and she's great, like her food! ... my wife just told me to recommend the coconut shrimp... I go for the fish and chips. Both are unbelievably good!!!

Came in for dinner last Friday. Put our name in for 2. The customer behind ( 2 ) us was friends with the hostess. The hostess put them in front of us. Said " they are regulars. ". We then waited an additional 20 minutes to get seated. We also eat here quite often. Not any more.

Ordered fish and chips. Two pieces of fish. One was either soggy or undercooked. However the well cooked piece was very good. As were the fries.

Just wanted a nice fresh piece of fish without waiting 90 minutes to sit down. The people working here were very kind and service was prompt. I got the blackened haddock with fries and coke slaw. Simple, fresh, tasty. Menu is heavy on the fried basket options, and my brother said the fish and chips were just right. Mom and pop diner, so if you are looking for atmosphere, maybe head closer to the shore.

Food is good for sure, but portion? Fries and slaw should be larger portion. The slaw was the good kind though. Left still a bit hungry to be honest.

ordered the 3 sampler the fish was good but the chicken tenders where freezer burnt tasting old the worst chicken tenders I have ever had the hush puppies tasted like thy where out of the frezer and not cooked enough it was over priced for what I got

First off food is fine ..been there a few times But my girlfriend and I went there the other day.. I'd say around Saturday or Sunday 02/17/24 or 2/18/24 and on there front counter (in front)in plain view.about a 6 years old kids height was a drag Queen poster for a show somewhere..I didn't want to eat there after loosing my appetite seeing that there in a family restaurant...that's no place for that garbage.. I gave 2 stars because that is very poor management taste to allow that in there.. I won't go back again..that's unfortunate cause my girlfriend loves the fish there..

Had the Cocunut Shrimp basket and the fish and chips (actually I had mixed veggies). The food was hot and as expected.

I've been visiting Sharks regularly for three years when staying with relatives in Port Charlotte. I'm from Massachusetts where Seafood restaurants are relatively common. My first encounter with the menu was the Coconut Shrimp with Fries and Coleslaw recommended by my Mom. I simply loved it. Mom mentioned that my dad used to take her to Sharks weekly. The Shrimp is always fresh and the Fries always crunchy. Please pardon my lack of interest in their other menu items. I'm addicted even after three years. Ann (the co-owner and server) doesn't need to give us a menu anymore. She just sighs and brings me my selection. Mind Reading??? Ann is a lovely, charming lady. Very attentive to her customers. Her assistant server Linda is a pleasure to talk to as well. I'll be going back to Mass in a couple of weeks. Early March to be specific. When I'm fighting off the Snow, Cold and Polar Bears in July and August in the far cold North of Massachusetts. Townsend to be exact. I'll be wistfully thinking of the Coconut Shrimp with Fries and Coleslaw. Sigh.

We use to love this place. Tonight changes that. We spent a lot of money for very small portions, dried out, cold food. We paid extra for onion rings and I counted and got 5 onion rings. They aren't the huge ones just average to small. My daughter got dried out freezer tasting chicken tenders with less fries than a small order McDonald's would give you. My son got small coconut dried out shrimp and paid extra for 4 TINY dried out onion rings. The batter on the fish we had was good but the fish was not that good and had a lot of skin on it. The only thing good was the crab cake. We feel like we were robbed and will never go back.

I rarely give reviews, but this place deserves it. I wish the restaurant was bigger so they could serve more people. The food is exemplary and the service couldn't be better. Ashley is mentioned in many reviews and she deserves every compliment and more! A must try if you want a good seafood meal, the fried food looks delicious and I tried the blackened fish. Sadly they were out of Hush puppies, but I presume that's because they are as good as everything else. Highly recommended for a great meal in a good, homely restaurant

Loved our food! We tried the fish, shrimp, chicken and crab cakes! Everything was delicious and the breading was just right! Hush puppies and coleslaw were amazing! Our server, Ashley, was super nice and attentive! Definitely won’t be our last time there! Looking forward to our next visit and bringing friends!

Such a great meal this evening! Ordered a cod loin basket and created a basket with fried, coconut shrimp and a crab cake which is the best I've had in ages lots of crab not filler. We will be back!

Came here on a recommendation from trip advisor. My best advice....GO! I got the pick 3 combo. The Alaskan Pollack was a deliciously fried piece of fish (huge portion) coconut shrimp with an orange marmalade dipping sauce and a crab cake, also wonderful. Dinner came with cole slaw and I substituted my fries for onion rings. Everything came piping hot 🔥 and delicious. Definitely a must stop next time I'm in the area. There was a very short wait. The wait staff was awesome and aimed to please! Oh, I tried my friends hush puppies. Best I ever had!

Great local favorite! Ashley was super friendly and helpful. My mother lives nearby and is a frequent visitor. The owner speaks with her and inquires about the food and service. Mostly fried food, but so delicious! Salads available with blackened fis, a real treat!

Went here for lunch with another couple. They said the fish and chips were good. I had the coconut shrimp, which wasn’t great and my husband had the fried shrimp which was just ok. It looks like most people go here for the fish and chips, so if you’re going for that it seems like it’s a good deal.

Remember the best fish 'n chips you ever had but can't seem to find them anywhere now? Take a trip to Shark's Fish House in North Port. Easy to find right on route 41. Terrific wait staff that will do everything they can to make your visit a great one. Owners ALWAYS on premises and do all the cooking themselves just to ensure everything's perfect. Not your run of the mill huge impersonal seafood restaurant, this place is small and informal but once you visit, you'll become family. Their battered fish portions are huge and cooked to perfection. Battered shrimp is large and TASTES like shrimp; not bland. Even the fries and hush puppies are great! Haven't tried all of the items on the menu because I can't go there and order anything other than the fish 'n chips or shrimp! Daily specials might be one piece of fish with four shrimp plus fries and cole slaw for $9.99. Wait staff keeps up with sanitizing areas after each party leaves, and condiments are served in separate, small containers so no one's used them before you. Plenty of room between tables, too. Can't beat the price; can't beat the service; can't beat the food; can't beat the cleanliness. We keep going back whenever the urge hits. Well worth the trip from anywhere!

Customer service was excellent I recommend if you're in town or North Port to try it out for small local business. Waitress was awesome keep up the great work.

Shark's Fish House is the best I have found for great fish platters in a very clean restaurant without needless frills. Their fish and chips platter is generous and their blackened salmon is delicious too. Most of all it's the staff that makes it all work. From the kitchen to the table and everywhere in between you will be made to feel at home. Wishing the the best as they recover from Hurricane Ian and we will look forward to returning when they are back in action.

Real down to earth place. Super nice staff. Most meals are und $15. All the food, fish, shrimp are exactly what you expect. We did the ultimate platter plus a single fish platter and split all of it for under $30 with fish, shrimp, crab cakes, clam strips and more fish plus sides.

Fish was ... adequate... I had blackened Haddock .. only three choices salmon and Haddock..and shrimp.... Small portion but reasonable price. A little over cooked for my taste but not too badly.. as I said it was adequate...

We were in the area for vacation in 2022 and found this gem! 1 year later and we had to come back and it did not disappoint! It is very rare to find a restaurant that is consistently good. We had the crab cake, clam strips, shrimp but my favorite is the Shark’s World Famous Fish and Chips. The fish is amazingly delicious! They are big, flaky and very tender with the right amount of crispy breading! The next time I’m in the area(hopefully it’s not a year), I will be returning!! Keep up the awesomeness!!

A fish and fries restaurant like no other. They serve large portions at a reasonable price. The food is delicious and not oily or greasy. They've been in business in the same location for over 20 years. I highly recommend them. Closed on Sundays. Now closed on Mondays for the summer.

This place is a Dime...The food was great fresh and tasteful I had a blackened haddock on a keiser roll with Onion rings and their homemade slaw. Didn't get a chance take a picture because by the time I looked down I was half way done with my meal. Recommend for lunch or early dinner.

What a great find! Can't remember the last time we went for fish and chips. They nailed it here. The fish was big, flaky, FRESH, hot, and properly done. The fries were very tasty and fresh too. Wife had the onion rings which were perfect, slightly sweet, and didn't pull out of the batter ring. Atmosphere reminds me of a proper diner with Grandma's house feel. ⭐Have a 6th star, you deserve it!

A great seafood restaurant! I had the fish and chips and hush puppies! They were amazing, and the breading on the fish was light and fluffy! We will definitely be back when we are back down there!

Stopped on way home from beach because of the great ratings. They were correct. Service is great as the staff was happy and more than attentive, food was superb and prepared as requested and prices are more than reasonable. Consider this a 10 star rating. Very easy to get to. Am here on vacation from southern Mass and definitely will come here again when we return.

The food was terrible. I don’t understand all the 4-5 star reviews for this restaurant, unless you like cheap, fried, unhealthy food, then this is the place for you. My salad consisted of cheap iceberg lettuce, & some unripe tomatoes. This was supposed to be an entree salad with a piece of fish on it. The piece of fish was tiny & tasteless. If you want a healthy meal option, this isn’t the place. We stopped here for lunch based on all the positive reviews, but this restaurant isn’t a place we would recommend. It still holds the record as the worst restaurant we’ve been to since we moved here 2 years ago.
