Love this place! Their bacon is on point!

The food was simple and fresh. Perfectly done pork chop and eggs. Great spot to take your family to have a nice little breakfast. It’s not a swanky joint. But the food compares. I saw one man with biscuits and gravy. He said he could eat it all but I think he meant throughout the course of a few days.

EXACTLY what I was looking for- a local neighborhood breakfast diner ( and lunch ) with its own character and vibe. Especially like the large collection of mugs for coffee - choose one you like and don’t get you coffee in paper or styrofoam - unless it’s to go . . .

Me and my sister always go to simple joes the food is great. On yesterday one of his workers mess up my order . When the lady went brought it back the owner came to my table with bad attitude like he was angry about something. Once his worker told him it was his mistake he should came say he was sorry but he didn’t . I would never go back there never … You was rude to me I didn’t yell at you but look like u got angry problems .. you need to work on your attitude .

It was ok, but it would have been nice if there were equally attentive. They kept making sure the table of 2 in front me were satisfied with their food and making small talk. They never came to see if I needed anything after they gave me my plate.

I've been dinning at Simple Joe's since they opened the doors with only GREAT things to say about this place!! 1st tell that you're walking into pure awesomeness is the likely line that you'll see hugging the right side of the room; a fast moving line of jovial folks that don't mind viewing what the local artists have up on the walls or taking in the aromas of deliciousness that they've traveled near and far to experience. ;) You may look around and wonder if you'll have a place to sit once you put your order in, have no fear... some way... some how... you will!!! I don't think I've ever been and not seen the owner behind the counter, wearing a big smile. Read that again. I didn't think I liked grits until I was encouraged to try the grits (YOU MUST TRY THE GRITS, Y'all!!). Also don't claim to be a burger fan, but you won't see me turn town a Simple Joe's burger. There's a little extra love in every menu item (I may or may not have had them all). What I came here to say is, If you've never graced the line of Simple Joe's, I highly recommend you do, first chance you get! Oh... and TRY THE GRITS!!

This was honestly one of the best breakfasts me and my wife had in awhile and we travel a lot. The biscuits and gravy were stellar, not to mention the creamy grits were to die for topped off with perfectly cooked bacon and amazing service!!!

Breakfast biscuit was over the top! The vibe at Simple Joe's is the perfect amount of energy but not too loud to have a serious business meeting over breakfast.

Simple Joe Cafe has the BEST breakfast/ brunch food hands down. January 2024 was my first time visiting Simple Joe Cafe and I was very, very impressed. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was delicious. The grits are creamy, smooth and so good, the shrimp are plentiful, big and seasoned to perfection. The prices are reasonable and the Cafe itself is clean and beautifully decorated with amazing artwork on the walls. Simple Joe Cafe will definitely be my go to. Try it out and I promise you will not be disappointed!

Amazing breakfast, but hands down my favorite items on the menu are the grilled shrimp po-boy and seafood omelet. So good!

Online, it seems like a good breakfast place. In person is a different experience. In the first 5 minutes, after sitting down, I get asked by the owner to move. Aparently, that small table for 1 was to accommodate 4. Ok, I got moved. I relocated to this other table next to the water section. 3 minutes sitting down, I get splashed with water. I looked up, and the waiter just laughed and walked away. Almost finished eating, and one person sits there now. The food was mediocre at best. Pancakes were more like a messy mass than the fluffy ones everyone keeps saying they are getting. My opinion is to save your money there are far better breakfast locations with far better service and even better food. There's nothing to fix. It aint broken. You are just a plain out terrible place.

Came here a couple of months ago. This was one of those spots, where you walk in, and know it's going to be good. We were immediately welcomed with a warm greeting. The Philly cheese steak caughty my eye. Someone with us ordered the Alfredo. I didn't try any, but could tell by looking at it, that it was definitely made with love. The cook came to our table, asked us how the food was. We told him it was great, and it was indeed. Awesome spot. I would come back in a heartbeat next time I'm in the area.

I eat here often. They are so friendly and make sure you get what you ordered. They have the best grits I have ever tasted, and I was not a grits eater! They have turkey bacon, great iced tea, and hot coffee, which is self- serve (so no waiting when you want more)!

I went to a breakfast restaurant recently and the service was so friendly! The food was great, and I especially enjoyed their grits which were really creamy. Prices were really affordable, too, so if you're looking for a good breakfast spot that won't break the bank, this is the place. There was a nice gentleman I believe his name was "Hakeem" who noticed that I had a very large to-go order and a cup of coffee and he offered to bring my items to my car. That type of service is what I enjoyed about visiting new places and trying new food I would definitely be back.

It's always a busy breakfast spot, but that's because the food is so good. It lacks a bit in atmosphere but I overall engrossed in my amazing French toast that I don't worry too much about it. Something for everyone at breakfast.

Their breakfast is real good and not to mention the staff is very polite but the only problem I have is you don't get your moneys worth. The grits is to die for but you only get baby portions. I tried going back a third time with my mom and she said the same thing the food was awesome but it's not worth the money your spending. I'll get the photos from her and upload a few.

I've been coming here for the past 3 years since my son became a Tiger and the excellent food and service has been consistent! I don't know what they do their coffee but it is so good every time!! Definitely recommend this gem if you are coming to visit Baton Rouge!!

Horrible the cooks have no hair net hair was even in my grits when it was served to me they took really long they have no waitresses to serve the food they let any one of the employees serve the food the cool came out and served the food to me ...horrible customer service very rude

Best place in Baton Rouge for any time morning or lunch type meal. Sean and the crew have it going on. They are locally owned and operated. Conveniently located in the heart of Baton Rouge. They also take to go orders. The French toast is my favorite thing on the menu. Second favorite are the grits with pepper jack cheese! Yummy!!!!

My birthday breakfast of omelette and creamy grits was so good. The cashier was so professional with an amazing personality. I will be eating their more!

Everything was fantastic. We went on a Saturday and it was VERY busy. You stand in line for a good bit to order, but they don't allow people to pre-save tables. We ordered the Smoked Sausage (it was a little too black, but not bad) the eggs, and grits were good as well. I didn't get a picture of my pancake, because it came out after my plate...but I'd recommend it also.

Went today after the Mardi Gras Mambo Marathon. Food was delicious, fast, and hot! We had a party of 7. On the weekends, you cannot reserve tables, everyone in your party has to order, then sit. When we went to find a table there were 2 young ladies sitting at a table for 6. The owner without us saying a word, saw us waiting for a table. He politely asked them if they would move to a 2 top. Although, the ladies were not happy about being asked to move it spoke volumes to us. The consideration of every customer even during the Breakfast rush was memorable. Usually managers and owners wouldn't worry about it, but he did. The atmosphere was family friendly and quaint. 4 hours later we were still full from the large reasonably priced breakfast! They gained customers for LIFE today. We've already talked about going back and bringing more friends.

Extremely rude and unprofessional staff! My friends and I went to eat at this place, and after ordering and paying, we went to the only available table. 2 minutes later, we were asked to move to a table for 2 even though we were a party of 3. By the time they came with the third chair, someone had already sat down, and they kept arguing that we couldn’t sit here even if no other tables were available! We asked for a refund if we couldn’t sit down and eat our food. The manager came to talk to us, and we moved to a smaller table as soon as one was available with all our food that we haven’t been able to eat because of all this drama. My bagel had a hair in the eggs, but after we decided not to say anything because we wanted to eat and leave this place, My friend posted a Google review about our experience while we were still over there. The manager saw it and came over to ask us, "If we were serious?! ", and told us twice to "GET OUT!" Sir, you need to go to college and learn about how to manage a business because you’re definitely not doing it the right way. We told our friends and family about our experience and won’t recommend this place to anyone.

Ordered shredded hash, eggs, sausage and french toast. It hit the spot, however, the food to me was slightly bland. After doctoring it up, it gave me life. Service was impeccable. I'd definitely come back.

Watched the manager go off on three young ladies eating their breakfast this morning. Dude was literally cursing them out in front of everyone and there was children in the restaurant. Not the atmosphere I need in the morning…

My husband and I visited Baton rouge for my birthday. Wow, what an awesome place Sean has here. I was super impressed being greater by the owner as soon as you walk in! I asked him about a breakfast burrito. He served me the first Sean Burrito Special, beg him to add it to the menu! It was the best breakfast burrito I ever had!!!! My husband and I split it and it was great. Could not have been more amazing. We also enjoyed looking at all the artwork. What was most impressive is the arc was very attentive and the owner was actively helping. Good job, sir! If you are from BR, I’m not telling you anything you don’t know. If you are from out of town, run, don’t walk for breakfast here!! We will be back!

This is one of my family’s favorite places for a weekend breakfast. The food is straightforward and delicious without any overwrought attempts at pretentiousness. And the grits….OMG. Creamy and ethereal at the same time. My favorite: a grits bowl with sautéed spinach, tomatoes, and onion, topped with a fried egg.

Best omelette ever. Everything is freshly made there the grits are homemade.

I rarely write reviews, so I have to say this before I eat my last bite of the pancakes…the number 5 is and was definitely one of the best things I’ve spent my money on. Definitely worth it. This place is now a go to. Funny thing about the pancakes tho..I was driving away when I then saw my cashier running in the distance after my car. Apparently, my pancakes were missing from my plate and he RAN to get them to me. Amazing. I’m mad I didn’t tip. Do yourself a favor and tip them. Trust me.

This was delicious! Yum! Veggie Omelet..mushrooms, spinach, provolone & pepper jack and green onions. Their coffee is always delicious too! ☆☆☆☆☆♡

The owner / manager here is a rageaholic primed, ready & just waiting to get into a confrontation with patrons. Some of those accounts are documented here for all to find and read. Do yourself a favor and don't give him the chance by eating here.

Grits are the best I have ever had!

I ordered door dash from here for the first and last time. An hour and a half after I place my order my dasher tells me that she had to put the order in again because the restaurant claims they never received it. I don't see how that could be possible since the restaurant had to confirm the order. Then when the food finally arrives half the order is missing. You would think that management would have taken extra care to make sure the order was sent out right after misplacing my order

Simple Joe Cafe for breakfast did not disappoint. Bagels and lox for brunch a great menu option. In the area you must try this home town favorite. The wait was worth the time.
