BEST BBQ WITHIN 100 MILES ! WHENEVER OPEN YOU BETTER GET IN LINE BECAUSE .The BUILDING Is SMALL but the food is so worth it . Even if your getting it to go and getting back in the road ! I always get the 9.99 pull pork plate with Fry's and a tea ! And I'm stuffed !

Stopped by on a road trip, very friendly service that makes you feel at home. We came it about 15 minutes til close, and they were very sweet to us and got the order out fast. We ate everything, special mention to the collard greens and baked beans! Also very affordable for the portions.

I walked in for lunch just before 2, they were already shutting down for the afternoon but they let me order anyway. I had a pulled pork sandwich-was nothing special, pork on a bun with a dash of BBQ sauce squirted on top, lots of empty bun, fried okra and tots..... To go since they were closing. Wish I had more pork on that big bun and had gotten more BBQ sauce on it.

Excellent barbecue, large portions, very friendly staff. If you are expecting a fancy dining experience, this might not be your thing. If you want really, really good barbecue, this is your place.

To go order of 1 pound brisket, 1/2 pound sausage, and 1 pint of slaw. When I asked for brisket the nice lady at the counter said they called it " beef ". When we got home to eat, the "beef" was sliced very thin, no evidence of a smoke ring, and a wee bit tough. The sausage was very good, and the slaw was some of the best we've ever had. Sauce was good, too. Simply Good is closed Sunday and Monday, and we ordered Tuesday morning, 11:30. I wonder if the brisket was leftover from Saturday. I'll be back and try it again. We just moved to this part of Florida from Texas Hillcountry. We hope the "beef" is better next time.

We came in to get something to go at 1:50 not knowing they close at 2 and the lady in the back was very rude and made the comment, " Who comes in a restaurant 5 minutes to close." We will not be going back there again.

A glaze isn't a drizzle. The food is sub par and they up charge for any decent side. Shopping from the gas station next door. The place is fantastic but the food kinda sucks.

This place is a hidden gem. The food is delicious and homemade. I've had the burger and onion rings and it's absolutely delicious. The food, customer service, staff, and atmosphere are all 5 star! I'd definitely recommend stopping by.

As a delivery business that services this area, we've had several orders to pick up here. Our customers love the food here and everyone we've ever heard from rave about it. We decided to try it ourselves recently and it's become our local favorite. We've had the burger and onion rings and fries, and the chicken strip basket. All of it is absolutely delicious. We love Simply Good. Every time we go in there are customers dining in and others picking up food to go. It's a hometown family restaurant that is an absolute must try.

My husband and I eat here at least 4 times a month. The BBQ pork sandwich is this best. The staff are also the best. You feel like family when you are there. It is a very welcoming, and warm atmosphere.

Walled in waited 15 mins and not 1 person stop by my table . Got up and left .

Honestly, it's just really good cheap food. It's not perfect, but that's what I love about it. It just is a really good place to eat. Just good food. 👍🏻

I've been here about 3 times. The people are nice. But I got really sick the last time I went. I thought the chicken and the sausage tasted a little bit off... but the sauce sort of covered it. It was definitely food poisoning I got. 🤢🤒😕 I won't go back. Unfortunate because there are very few restaurants around here.

A very unassuming, yet comfortable place, reminiscent of a bygone era. And yes, you can eat in. Sausage, chicken and onions were great, as were the fries and coleslaw. Country fried steak was delicious and the baked beans were sweet and packed with flavor. We’ll be back!

Best BBQ sauce around. My favorite is the Sampler Platter. Not only do I get to enjoy each of their meats but there is enough for a second meal. The baked beans are to-due-for. Also delicious are the greens and the potato salad. The atmosphere is soothing and the family owners makes you feel welcome.

Stopped in after golf at Blackstone, lured by the near-5-star review consensus. Yup, Simply Good really is that good. Our order: brisket, bbq chicken, chicken sandwich, chicken fingers. Sides: Mashed potatoes, fries, fried okra, greens, coleslaw, cheese curds. Plates also include breadsticks and we wound up with both types of gravy. BBQ chicken: very tender, generous pieces. Brisket: lean, tender, right smokiness. Chicken fingers: appeared to be home-battered, very good. Taters, gravy and okra were also homemade and excellent. Turnip greens were outstanding, as good as any I've tried. Slaw and fries were a little disappointing: fries slightly soggy and slaw a hybrid creamy/vinegar style with an odd taste. Their bbq sauce is a sweet, slightly vinegary/tomatoey type, good applied lightly. Cheese curds are a little peppery, I liked them a lot. Drinks are canned soda or self-serve lemonade and tea, both very good. The sweet tea is extremely sweet - I mixed half sweet and half un, you could also make an Arnold Palmer if that's your deal. Counter/bring out service is extremely friendly and fast, considering we had some deep fried items. Was fairly busy but there are quite a few tables for the building size plus outdoor tables. Overall, definitely recommend.

First time at this establishment and I was a bit apprehensive because it’s like a hole in the wall type of place. I was pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent! Service was superb!

What a great story. This place has bee open and run by the same family since 1987! I found this while traveling between Pensacola to Panama City. THIS is a one me-of-a-kind little place that I love. It is awesome the food is great too! The owner even gave me a cup of meat for my dog!

It gets an A for authenticity. This is the original that Cracker Barrel is trying to copy, complete with the random stuff hanging from the ceiling and walls. The fried chicken bites and fries are fantastic. Even the salad was good. Some other stuff tastes like it just came out of a can and that's ok. The collards were over cooked but still tasty. The owner was very very friendly and kind and added to the experience.

The best BBQ we have ever been too! I got the ribs, with mashed potatoes and beans, hubby got the 1/2 chicken with potato salad and beans. You also get a breadstick. We left so full. We are thru hikers, and many miles from home. Wish disappoints me, because it's so far from home.

The service was amazing and the food is delicious! The bbq chicken is probably the best I’ve ever had, and their mashed potatoes are soooo good. I love the batter they use for their fried pickles. Most places are too salty and it overpowers the taste of the pickle. Theirs is perfect.

We ate here what a cool little place. Loved the decor, workers were amazingly nice. The food was good but there was nothing to write home about.

Family friendly atmosphere. Great food

Driving through area and decided to try something local. Had older woman as cashier/to order taker and it took her almost 10 minutes a person to take order. She didn't know what their market prices were and at first wanted to charge an extra 30% for brisket and then when up to 50% more than menu. After waiting 20 minutes for our food, even though there was only 2 other tables in restaurant she managed to mess up our order anyway. Food was okay but since we wanted sliced brisket sandwiches we were given chop brisket which we didn't want because we were eating in the car. Way over priced and extremely slow service.

Very friendly folks and the food is great. I thought the turnips were a little salty but everyone has a different palate for salt. I just mixed it with mashed potatoes to spread the salt. All the barbecue was excellent and we had the chicken, ribs and pulled pork. All delicious.

Best BBQ joint ever. Family owned, super friendly. You taste the smoke in the sausage and pulled pork. All sides are amazing. Tricky hours! But it's my favorite BBQ place.

Everything was delicious but the beans were just... sent from heaven. I wish the cup was bigger I could have eaten my weight in them and I'm more of a meat gal normally.

I like their food. My husband loves the sauce. You put it on your self. Had ribs, tater salad and bbq beans. It was good.

I've had a fair share of the BBQ from Simply Good and it hasn't disappointed me yet. The brisket and sausage are my favorites. I try to order enough to stretch the goodness for lunch the next day but it's hard sometimes, haha. Keep up the good work. 👍

Best BBQ in Defuniak springs area, period. Friendly, clean, awesome food, and hospitable …what more could you want from a family owned BBQ joint. I will add that I also really appreciated when I came in right at closing time, after working all day, and y’all fixed me a hot meal. Thank you simply BBQ

Delicious and Friendly!! We were traveling 10 on the highway and found this gem on Google. BBQ chicken was amazing, potato salad was like my grandma used to make. My husband had the brisket sand and corn nuggets - he said they were both amazing! The local said you must try the Philly cheese sandwich! A must stop!

Great mom and pop place right down the road from work. It's also about 3 miles from the interstate if you're traveling.

Just passing through and looking for a place to get a decent meal. We found Simply Good BBQ on google and decided to give it a try. We ordered brisket and ribs..omg what a meal. I also ordered the corn fritters as a side..I could have made a meal with those and the potato salad. Food is prepared on site, no boxed or frozen stuff. Definitely will be back..

This place has impressed me. So glad to see it keep going, making excellent food and keeping happy employees.

Like they name implies it was simply good. The atmosphere was inviting and the staff was friendly as if you had known them your whole life. We had the combo plate and multiple sides. The Chicken and Sausage were very good. The brisket, pulled pork and ribs were nothing special and the sides were ok but nothing I would need to order again. I also ordered 3 sandwiches to go. It was a great value.
