Great Customer Service. Excellent Food. I love the Pulled Pork. My wife loves the Brisket. The Sides are all excellent. I need to try their homemade pies soon.

We have ordered from this place for years . They are known for customer service however our July 4th lunch was soooo good! We ordered the day before picked up on the 4th . The ribs fell off the bone . The bbq had just enough burnt ends. The cole slaw is excellent and Im not sure what they put in the potato salad , it was amazing . Sweet potato and Cole slaw on point .i would give 10 stars .

Best BBQ in town! Their brisket is amazing. Their ribs are amazing! Good selection of sauces. The sweet potato crunch is crazy good! Only complaint, and it's very mild, is that they could use a larger indoor dinning space. Even if your the only people present, there is very little room. And it feels crowded with even a single other family present. Definitely worth the try.

Smoky Dreams Barbecue is the BEST IN GREENVILLE! No doubt. Recently we placed a large order for a family gathering that had everyone raving about the pulled pork, brisket, sweet potato crunch, and Mac n cheese. While I’d like to keep them a secret you HAVE to try their BBQ. Thank you for what you do and we love your food!!! 6 out of 5 stars.

Good food BUT I asked for coleslaw on my bbq sandwich. Got home, no coleslaw. Guess I should have checked the bag before I pulled off. They were at Sprinkles in Bunnlevel, NC

I got here for lunch. Got the pulled pork sandwich plate with beans and mac and cheese and the brisket plate with loaded potato salad and mac and cheese. The brisket did not have any seasoning on it. It was borderline flavorless. The mac and cheese was the same. Little to no flavor. The loaded potato salad had flavor but the thimble size amount they give for a .75 upcharge is ridiculous, preposterous, and insulting. All of the sides were too small tbh. It's your cheapest cost items. The pulled pork lacked seasoning as well and needed sauce. This place is very highly rated and I'm confused by it. $20 brisket plate. No way would I come back for that price and the way it taste. For that price I can go to cookout and get 3 cookout trays with the BBQ sandwich with sides.

The best barbecue in town. Great prices, great service and consistently great. Brisket falls apart. Mac N Cheese is amazing. The optional vinegar based sauce, North Carolina style, feels like home.

I spent $224 on 5lbs of pulled pork, 2lbs of pulled chicken and a quart of every side plus a gallon of sweet tea for my family and some take-to-work meals. I understand the price but I will say this: When you charge premium prices for premium meats, don't get lazy and ruin the sides. You don't serve traditional southern style Cole slaw, you don't salt the water when you make Mac n cheese and you only use 1 bland cheese, you use canned green beans, and you don't serve quartered chicken. You went through so many lengths to make everything else a standout, and then ruined it by being lazy with the best sides. That's like buying two tickets to Lynyrd Skynyrd and only Ronnie shows up with no band. Great concept but do better. Gordon ramsay and Uncle Roger would be ashamed.

This "Gem" 💎 of a BBQ spot is a "must taste to believe" destination!! 😋 If you try nothing but the chopped Chicken 🐔 Sandwich, 🤯 you will not be disappointed!! My "loaded" Baked Potato was a great lunch with chopped Brisket, Pimento Cheese 🧀, green onions, butter, and sour cream. The wife's Pork 🐖 Dream Bowl was also a great contender for top lunch, with pulled Pork, Baked Beans, and Coleslaw layered as some call a BBQ Sunday. These two options were so good, we decided to go back for more and ordered the 'Jr' chopped Chicken 🐔 sandwich, which was more than 1/2 lb of the most tender, moist, smokey, succulent meat to come out of a pit! The sauces were on point 👉, with the Mustard and Mild Tomato 🍅 leading the way. Good thing I don't live in Greenville, SC; or I would have a weight problem!!! 😏🙄😅 So if you're hungry and passing through Greenville, jump off I85 and relax for a moment with some of the best BBQ you've ever put in your mouth!!😳

Completely impressed with smokey dreams. Love bbq and the upstate has a huge selection to pick from, but this may be the best! It's easy to miss or pass by, but it's totally worth stopping and seeing some of the best the upstate has to offer.

Outstanding local BBQ - always great

Chicken was best thing there, moist with flavor but still average. Most bites of the brisket was dry with average flavor. Pulled pork was incredibly dry. Sweet potato dish was decent, mac and cheese was mediocre.

My son and I stopped in to this little place and we were VERY happy with our choice! I had the pulled pork with Cole slaw and Mac & Cheese and my son had the Baked Potato with cheese and pulled pork on top. The meat was tender and had a great flavor to it. The Mac and Cheese was SOOO good! My son love the baked potato so much that he ate every piece he could possibly get and even some of the skin! It tasted like they smoked the baked potato which gave it incredible flavor!! Can’t wait to come back and try the brisket and other menu items. *They have outdoor seating for nice days and an indoor seating with a fun music selection too!

I’ve eaten a lot of smoked meats (used to live in Texas) so was looking for good local spots especially for Carolina pork. Unfortunately, each of the meats we ate was dry and most did not have very good flavor. We had brisket, chicken and and pork. The sides were not good either; mac and cheese and sweet potato crunch. Sweet tea was about the only good thing here. Service was slow and the employees were pretty disengaged.

Delicious lunch and the staff was very friendly. The a/c for the inside dinning was perfect for the warm day this past Wednesday Brisket was juicy and tender and the BBQ Sandwiches were very tasty.

Food was good! I had the brisket and mac and cheese plate. Nicely seasoned. Was confused a bit at first because of the layout. You order at the window up the ramp, then in you wanna dine in, you gotta go next door. It’s all fine though, it was my first time there today so I was just confused. Service was veryyy fast. I think after placing my order, i received it within 2 minutes. One particular employee stood out, he was tall and wearing big glasses. He was very nice. He came in the dining room frequently to check on all the guests, including myself. He was working really hard and was a delight to converse with. Overall, my experience was very good. Bbq is on a whole prestige tier. This place caters to boot!

On our way into town from Charlotte, my better half and I found ourselves with a hankering for some real BBQ. So glad we found Smokey Dream’s listing on Google. We enjoyed their delicious, tender barbecue served up with some really great in-house sauces, all at affordable prices. Throughout our meal we received great service by the super friendly, down-to-earth staff. If you’re in the Greenville area and looking for an authentic barbecue experience, skip the chain restaurants and stop by Smoky Dreams. You won’t be sorry. PS - Save some room, because the peanut-butter chocolate whipped pie was amazing.

Edited a year later: Things have gone down hill quite a bit. Brisket tasted like there was a chemical spray on the rub or something. Mac and cheese was very over boiled pasta that wasn't edible. Bun was dry. The trip before this one the portions were so small I figured it was a mistake. Now we just won't be back. Previous Review: Amazing food! Chicken, brisket, coleslaw and beans were all fantastic. So glad we found this place!

Love the chopped chicken sandwich, it's more like two sandwiches, so good I don't use sauce. It's all good where I used to work they got a sampler box with a little of everything the brisket was so tender. Only open wed through sat. A little pricey but worth it. Outdoor seating only or to go.

Awesome smoked meat, treat yourself

This place looks like a literal abandoned shack, and you wouldn't know that they serve food if you drove by, but they are literally the best kept barbecue secret in South Carolina. Their ribs are always massive and fall off the bone. They offer a variety of delicious sides as well. I recommend the sweet potato crunch, so long as you aren't on a diet because they must put at least a pound of butter in that stuff. My dad loves the slaw, which is tossed in a vinegar based sauce. Secret tip: if you ask nicely enough, they will let you buy a whole bottle of the stuff. ;)

I have grown up with a love for food. For people. For travel. I also try to save money everywhere. I mean, who doesn’t right now? The only complaint I have is I waited too long to try Smoky Dreams. WHOA! The people are so kind and helpful, the food you can just tell is quality (doesn’t make me bloated and gross like most bbq I’ve had), and for the price I’m telling you, folks, you get SO MUCH FOOD! They even invest in groups that help community. If you want to be full on the best bbq around for the best price and support a local and family business. It’s SMOKY DREAMS all the way. I’ll be back asap. Woodruff Road won’t even keep me from coming back. Try it out. I promise. Soooooooo good. Now I need a nap. Maybe after that I’ll stand outside with a sign for them.

The barbecue is smoked to perfection. The Brisket, Pull pork and Pull chicken absolutely 💯 melts in your mouth 😋. Tender juicy succulent smoked meet. Coleslaw and potato salad awesome taste. I would have a picture, put I sat down and ate the food too fast.

An incredible small local bbq place that has great prices and the food is great. What you get for the money is hard to beat and this place deserves a try and repeat business! You get your money's worth and more from here and the service is great.

The brisket was by far the best part of our meal. We ordered food for about 40 people for a family reunion in town. This was our first visit to Smoky Dreams and are already planning to get food from them next year.

Very good barbecue worth the trip

The food was absolutely delicious. The brisket, pulled pork, sweet potatoes, potatoe salad and the Mac is just 👌🏻👌🏻 we were fortunate enough to talk to the owner and try some of their seasonal stuff which was delicious on the brisket. The peanut butter pie to finish it off was amazing. Would definitely recommend for a lunch spot. They even have the vinegar based sauce!

Excellent service and the food was amazing! I bought the pulled barbecue pork sandwich plates. So much food!! And I got the smaller size! Also the owner brought me a couple of slices of the brisket to taste. The best!! Very juice and full of flavor. We will definitely return! And the have a nice area to sit outside!

My wife and I visited today and the food was fantastic! The staff couldn’t have been more courteous. It’s easy to spot establishments (and people) that genuinely care about the product or service they put out and these good folks definitely deserve 5 stars.

I paid $8 for THIS. This isn't even enough to warrant $4. Idk if the staff today just wasn't good, or if they've reduced their portions for everyone, but this is laughable. I feel ripped off because of this. I'm not sure if I'll be returning.

I totally understand how unique everyone's individual preferences are for things like pizza and BBQ but if you're like me and have so far been pretty disappointed by other BBQ places in Greenville SC, Smokey Dreams is worth the visit. I got the brisket and sweet potato crunch with their spicy vinegar and smokey dreams sauce. Neither sauce was overpowering and I'm not a huge fan of mayo or mustard sauces. In general, I preferred the vinegar but thought that both together paired well. The sweet potato crunch was great. Pretty on par with other places near by but also not overly sweet which I appreciated personally. The wings looked amazing as well. I didn't have a chance to try them but I watched the meat fall right off of the bone. They're smoking the meats right outside by the restaurant and there is indoor and outdoor seating. They're only open from 11am-7pm Wed-Saturday but try to get in if you can and I don't believe you'll be disappointed.

This is good barbecue, many tasty sides, good variety of sources including, white sauce. We were a big party and ate outside on umbrella covered tables. The service was quick, friendly, very attentive, and the owner is a real gentleman. He and his crew made sure we were well taken care of and even gave our dog a nice dog bone. Highly recommended.

I Love this place and the people there. The food is second to none. I live an hour away so I have to plan to be in the area. If I could I’d plan to be there once a week! Yesterday I bought chopped bbq, chopped brisket, a rack of ribs, chicken wings and the best slaw on the planet. I highly recommend the hot vinegar sauce if you’re a sauce person if not, you don’t need any. All the Smokey Dreams entrees are full of flavor without any help. If you’re in the area, or not, you need to stop in and taste the best BBQ Around. I guarantee you’ll love it too, if not you need to see a physician because your taste buds need to be replaced.

The bar-be-que pork is very tasty. You can choose your sauce and apply it yourself. They have mustard sauce. The sweet potato crunch and mac and cheese are great. The mac and cheese is the "macaroni pie" style that my grandmother used to make. Cost about $52 for a family of 4 with two premium sides (family pack). One of the friendliest bar-be-que options in this area even if the dining room is a little small.

I honestly hate giving this a bad review. The q is great and the staff are always so nice. So why give it a bad review??? The first time we gave them a try was late last fall after hiking. We were starving and hit the drive thru. They close at 7 and we were there at 630. When we got home and opened up our containers we were shocked at the portions especially given the fact we spent over $30. But I chalked it up to how late we arrived. Second time was a few months ago and I chalked it up to shortages. So today after working half a day, running errands, and taking my dog to Joanne's fabric to flirt with the girls, I was starving. I decided I would give them one more try. I ordered half a pork plate for me with beans. For my hubby a full pork plate with beans and slaw. I also ordered 2 slices of peanut butter pie. It was again well over $30. They fo not have any fried sides such as fries, hushpuppies, or onion rings. This was hours before closing. We got home and I unpack the boxes and decided this would be the last time I stopped by. My portion of pork was maybe the size of an ice cream scoop and hubby didn't have much more. We had buns here and it didn't cover the buns without it being a thin layer. There were maybe 2 spoon fulls of beans and slaw. And you don't get bread. And the pie was tiny. I have a medical condition that causes me get full very quickly. I normally can't eat but half a meal. I always bring home leftovers. I not only ate the whole thing and my pie. But had to go to the grocery store and get a pizza because we were so hungry. As great as the food is and they have a wonderful staff. It doesn't justify the portion you get given how much they charge. There are several other BBQ restaurants nearby charging less with bigger portions including an awesome BBQ buffet. They need to either increase their portions or lower their prices. Until then there will not be a visit #4.

I had such a great experience having lunch at Smoky Dreams! The brisket was amazing and they have a great variety of sauces. On top of the great food, I received some of the best customer service I've ever had. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and kind. Highly recommend!

Went at closing and ordered brisket and ribs. Out of ribs. Brisket was cooked perfect. Excellent smoke, very juicy. Sides were very good, but it's hard mess up baked beans and slaw. Large portions, hope it's not because they were closing. 45 minutes from my house, but will go earlier and try rest of menu.

Came up from Orlando for the week for work and several people mentioned Smoky Dreams! Of course had to get my fix for some great bbq and glad we did. Ordered the brisket, of course, side of Mac-n-cheese and potato salad- went with the smoky white sauce and hot vinegar sauce and mixed those together with the intention of dousing the brisket- BUT didn’t need to. Brisket was so flavorful, tender, and juicy (I did sneak a little sauce on there and it was gooood!). We spoke with the owners for about an hour and realized we knew each other from the old college days- Owners were kind, and truly cared about the service, food, and took pride in their work- next time we come up we will eat here for lunch and dinner!

I want to give this restaurant another try. I am thinking that perhaps time of day that we went was the reason that the ribs were quite dry. We arrived just after 6pm. The line wasn't long but the cashier taking the orders, although quite nice was slow to take the orders My meal came with my father's baked beans side The vinegar sauce was quite good and the sweet potato crunch, very delicious. We will give this place another try this summer. Hoping for a better experience.

So all I've heard is good things about this place and the food is slap your mama good! I especially loved the hot vinegar sauce on the pulled pork. We got two family packs for an event. The sides were delicious (baked beans, sweet potato casserole, and green beans. I can't say about the slaw because they accidentally left it out of our bag, but things do happen.) I would highly recommend their restaurant. You have to trust a barbecue restaurant that cooks their meat with the stacks of wood outside.

The food is incredible… but it’s second to the owners and staff! Kind, respectful, patriotic, engaging, delightful!! The food is so good I got brisket for 12 for our family Easter dinner this year!

Ok, huge fan. Family-friendly. Inside and outside dining. Music. I literally watched them bring purified water to a pup outside. BEST BBQ in the Upstate. Not greasy at all, sides are homemade, sauces are homemade (they say try mixing them & 👍👏👏👏, although you don’t need it on the meat it’s soooo good.) They have a variety of things and definitely will visit sometime again very soon with friends and family. Friends say go early because they run out sometimes. Just. All the yes. 🤠

Great tasting food and friendly service. The boys in the kitchen seemed like they were enjoying themselves even while hard at work. My wife and I got pulled pork platers which both had generous portions with great Smokey flavor. Can’t wait for our next visit.

Great brisket. I've been here 3 times now and it's been very good everytime. The brisket is very juicy and tender, and I don't put any sauce on it cause it's so flavourful. Excellent service and very friendly. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because the mac n cheese is pretty bad. It seems like it's been sitting under a warmer for hours. But all the other sides are great. And the other reason is because their only open wed-sat. I can understand Monday and Tuesday because those are normally the slowest days in the restaurant business. But closed on Sunday pretty much sucks. Wish I could do 4.5 stars cause honestly this place is great.

I haven’t even left the dining room but I had to immediately jump on here and review because…. My Gosh. Absolutely incredible. I don’t even have the words to really describe the pork because it’s THAT good. This place is pretty expensive but it’s worth every penny and was 100% worth the drive from Asheville. I wish I had samples more of their sauces though! We will definitely be back to try the brisket.

Food: The pulled pork and chicken were equally mouth watering, but the brisket stole the spotlight for its spot on flavor and fall of the fork tenderness. The sauces are the best in combination methinks - from the bright vinegar to the sweet and the creamy options. you'll have to experiment to find your favorite! The sides: mac n cheese and sweet potato crunch were really good and the slaw was unique (don't expect mayo based - it's a Polish recipe hand made daily) Sweet tea is HUGE and tastes like my Granny made it Service: top notch, they were patient and helpful. Great people sides are absolutely horrible no flavor at all they give out children size portions of brisket for there adult plater for 17$ huge waste of money not happy all the salt and pepper in the world can’t make these sides better how do you mess up cole slaw in SC

Mac and cheese, potato salad, and sweet potato crunch are 🔥🔥🔥🔥 The owners are an awesome local family who give back to the community and make an effort to get to know everyone who stops by. Definitely worth the drive to Woodruff Road from my home in Travelers Rest, which says a lot if you’re from the area!

Excellent brisket, tasty sauces, and yummy sides. It’s hard to find good brisket in this area but Smoky Dreams does it right! The young man taking our order was great about answering our questions and encouraged us to try each of the sauces. I’m usually not a mustard sauce person but it was probably my favorite! We will be back again soon!

Food is delicious but not worth the price. Paid $19 for a plate and they messed up my sides and aren’t very generous with their portions. Let me make it clear- this is some of the best BBQ around. Just wish it wasn’t so expensive and they would give you more.

This is the best barbecue I have ever eaten. We chose them to cater my son’s rehearsal dinner, and it was a great decision. All of the food was delicious, and our guests raved about it. Nancy was a dream to work with in arranging the dinner. She and her husband delivered everything right on time at the venue, at the right temperature, and set everything up for us so we were ready to go. I highly recommend them for catering. I would use them again in a heartbeat. I only wish I lived close enough to enjoy this great little barbecue restaurant.

We chose Smoky Dreams Barbecue to cater our son’s rehearsal dinner, and they were an excellent choice. The barbecue and all the sides were delicious. We had brisket, pulled pork, chopped chicken, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, sweet vinegar slaw, green beans, loaded potato salad and rolls. The chopped chicken was the moistest, most flavorful barbecue chicken I’ve ever had. And there was no sauce on it, so you could actually taste the smoky chicken. All of the guests raved about the delicious food, and many asked who did the catering. I was arranging this dinner remotely from Georgia, and Nancy the catering manager was truly a dream to work with. She was so helpful with all of the arrangements, and she is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Nancy and her husband delivered the food exactly at the time arranged at our venue, in containers that kept it hot, and they set it up for us. This is a family owned and operated business. You can really tell they care about the food they serve and their customers. This was a great experience from beginning until end. I would definitely choose them again in a heartbeat. I only wish I lived in town, so I could enjoy their delicious food on a regular basis.

The BEST BBQ I've ever had. I eat the hot vinager based sauce and it's great. It's also so big I don't even order sides. Wish it were open everyday

A huge shout out to Hurricane Mama and her entire team. Visiting from out of town for a baseball tournament. Brought the entire team for lunch and we were not disappointed. Brisket, ribs, porks, chicken were so moist. The Mac cheese was delicious. The peanut butter pie and the Elvis pie were incredible. Great NC barbecue and southern hospitality.

Is one of the best flavored barbecue joints in town. The baked beans are amazing and their vinegar sauce is fantastic.

Great food, but they give me the wrong sides nearly every time. In response to the reply: I told him “green beans” twice, because he accidentally deleted my entire order the first time. So apparently the ticket was right, I just received the wrong side as well as wrong sauce. The last time I was there, my chips were forgotten entirely. Since you use a system that pressures customers to tip, it’s especially frustrating that we have to deal with incompetence.

Delicious BBQ, potato salad and sweet potato crunch!!! Customer service was awesome. We will be back for sure!! Well we went back to Smoky dreams again Saturday !! Everything was delicious. We ride from Charlotte to Greenville so we can eat here and go to the bakery. Well worth the trip!

Hands down best smoked food around! You know it's good when u have to decide what bite to take next, chopped chicken, mac n cheese, or potato salad. Staff is excellent, friendly, and food is fresh hot and comes out in a timely manner!
