Almost impossible to be there and not be happy

This is a quaint coffee shop that is not equipped for summer. They have two portable AC units, but they aren't cutting it. There is limited seating outside and only a few chairs under shade, so many people took their orders to go. I feel sorry for the folks who work here because that heat must be unbearable. The wi-fi was too slow to use, and between that and the heat, I couldn't take it anymore. I had to leave.

Delightful little place! Best latte I’ve had in quite a while. They even had organic maple syrup which is my favorite!

They roast their own coffee here. Roast is usually good. Pastries are decent, nothing amazing but good.

I had a peppermint mocha that was quite good and very minty.

If for no other reason, So. G Coffee deserves my business for price alone. It's been years since I've seen a double latte at this price. Broad coffee menu with all the options, iced & hot. Variety of pastries & steel cut oatmeal for noshing, but my tall cinnamon double latte was delivered at perfect drinking temp. Finally, the staff is friendly, skilled, and expedient. Don't wait, stop in today!

Lovely little coffee house! Came in quick with my daughter, got an iced coffee, a French vanilla muffin and a chocolate chip scone and everything was delicious!

A really nice local coffee shop. Coffee is fresh and tasty (not pourover fancy like I usually like but good enough for this type of place. They had the roaster firing when I was there. Soups were good, pastries were fresh.

Cute place, but for a coffee shop they need to have better drip, it didn’t taste freshly brewed, it tasted burnt. Muffins were just pure oil and their lemon puppy tasted weird.

Went there because my coffee shop was closed today that I normally go to and went there because it was 5 stars but the latte I had was horrible really bad coffee flavor virtually no coffee flavor. It had a really fake vanilla taste with a bitter after flavor when I didn’t ask for vanilla I asked for caramel. It made me start coughing like crazy like a wet cough twenty minutes passed of me not drinking it and it stopped which I don’t know what ingredient could do that but I threw it out and barely drank it. I always drink ice coffee and it doesn’t make me cough. I don’t know how it has 5 star reviews they must not be real reviews. I was mislead to this destination I don’t know how it’s open serving coffee like that. Beware of wasting your 5 dollars for a bad latte I wouldn’t drink it for free.

Revisiting my hometown. Decided to give this place a go as it hadn't been there during my time of residence in Glastonbury. Great coffee, friendly & helpful staff, great service. Very friendly patrons as well, found myself in a good 5-10 minute convo after purchasing my iced coffee. Highly recommend coffee quality and atmosphere are top notch, very homey feeling.

So G does it right. Roasts are 👌. Great place to stop post ride.

Workers are always friendly, and the coffee is remarkable. Drive 40 minutes to get coffee from here two times a week, and if you genuinely enjoy the taste of quality coffee this place is where it’s at.

1 recently discovered this wonderful local coffee shop in Glastonbury, CT and I must say, I'm thoroughly impressed! From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The drip coffee here is absolutely fantastic and comes in a wide variety of delicious flavors that are sure to satisfy any palate. I particularly enjoyed the hazelnut and cinnamon flavors - they were so rich and flavorful! And the pastries here are simply divine. From flaky croissants to decadent muffins, there's something for everyone. But what really sets this coffee shop apart is the exceptional service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely cares about ensuring that every customer has a great experience. They go above and beyond to make sure that your order is just right and are always happy to recommend a new flavor or pastry to try. The shop itself is also quite charming, with cozy seating areas perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done. And the free wifi is a nice touch, too! Our absolute favorite coffee shop in CT! The coffee is amazing, never burnt or too sour. My family in California loves their coffee so much I'm frequently shipping it to the west coast, so they can get their SoG fix. The staff is always warm and helpful and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming- not to mention they are often roasting coffee and it smells like heaven inside. Thank you So G for the delicious coffee and all you do for the town!

My absolute number 1 place to go , to purchase a cup to drink, and beans to brew for home. I first discovered this gem by accident back in 2018, like a universal calling, life gifted me this experience and the pleasure to be a repeat customer for life. The staff are always pleasant and the atmosphere is soothing and calm. You really cant ask for more. And the food! Finally i found somewhere that has gluten and soy free options that dont rob the bank, or taste like trash. Another win! When they started the shop in Colchester beginning of covid, i was so happy! A shop 5 mins from my job! How could i ask for anything more! But sadly, covid caught up, and closed alot of businesses down, expecially in that area, including this new brewery. Even tbough i moved to NW CT now, I will continue my 1 1/2 hr drive to glastonbury for this experience and pleasure, its worth every mile. ♥️

So G is one of those cool coffee places you just can’t walk out of without two or three things what is it for yourself or us or for somebody else personally I love their hot cocoa I’ll even have it in the summertime it’s just a great hang out and really good coffee

Stopped by on a whim after being gifted a coffee maker for Xmas. The coffee and service was great. The staff was super helpful when I was trying to decide on my first batch of home brew coffee, down to knowing the correct grind for the machine I had at home.

Wow! So delicious, I grabbed blueberry scone, which was absolutely delicious! And a cup of regular coffee, which was also perfect.

The coffee wasn't bad, but it was maybe a little bit better than Starbucks, and that's not exactly a compliment. I was expecting better quality espresso based on the flavor of an espresso shot. I also tried a cappuccino and they overheated the milk, thus the drink was scolding hot and not enjoyable.

I've been a frequent customer here for a few years. So, I'm sorry that it took me so long to write a review. This place is 15 minutes from me and it is BEYOND AMAZING!!!! Forget other coffee shops, come here!!!! Karen, the owner, as well as all of the other employees, are awesome as heck! 🥰🤩 The coffee and pastries are 10/10 (and then some!) every time!

Our first time here and definitely won’t be our last! The staff was extremely warm and welcoming, especially the older lady! Her energy and aura was tranquil and calming I could talk to her all day. Before I end the review i must say, GET THE COFFEE CAKE! It’s extremely pillowy and fluffy and not heavy at all! I love it here and you will too!

Very good coffee in this local roasting shop. They know half of their customers by name, which is comforting. They have this pull along side routine that allows most customers to pop in and out with their cars staying warm. They have a decent pastry selection and a small sitting area, maybe 10 people worth. The only thing that prevents 5 stars are the prices are a tad high. See you soon So G.

Some of the best coffee in Connecticut. In the area east of the river there are really 4 good spots. Silk city, here, daybreak, and Qawa. This is not quite as good as Silk City or Qawa for espresso, but SoG is well above the daybreak, perkatory, or any starbucks. Also they're open Sundays if you're partial to Sunday drives. In general I would recommend the slight detour out of downtown glastonbury.

Really great spot! The line can be a little slow at times, but, the coffee and atmosphere are great! Definitely worth a try!

We met the owner. Friendly. Informative. Welcoming. The coffee and pastries were fabulous. I roast my own coffee at home, but have had little luck finding unroasted beans in CT. They were gracious enough to sell me some. That made my day, and convinced me to be a regular customer. Now I have a great place to bring my friends and family to.
