This place (Plant City) has really turned it around. The ribs use to be tough, dry and chewy...but now, they are tender, juicy and fall off the bone...actually making my top ten list for BBQ! Update: As of 8-17-18. The new cook has obviously moved on. The ribs are back to what they use to be :-( Instead of top ten, they no longer make my list. Update: Great news! Sonny's has closed it's doors, making room for a Plant City Chick-fil-A!!

Called to order a meal and after 15 minutes of hold I drove down there (still on hold) ordered my food, got it then hung up after I left the parking lot (still on hold btw)

Service is always hit or miss. Food is the same way. You might get hot n fresh you might get old n cold.

The Plant City Sonny's is the best of the chain by far. Have had many good meals there. Won't talk about some of the others, ie. Brandon. The service is always really good like the food

I don't care for their ribs but corn nuggets are the best waitress need improvement.

Stopped to get take out for my family on father's day.... I'm a server too so I've been on the floor since 5:30 am & again they mess up my order...since it was $30 for 2 meals I expect it to be right...plus I live way out of town so can't just come back ... Thanks for making my long hard day suck even harder at the end when you were supposed to be helping me

The food is fine. The service is ok. Not the best bbq. But the salad bar has a lot of options.

Not the best Sonny's I've been to. Mac and cheese was not too good. Potato salad was ehh. Won't be going back here again. Hubby had gotten the bubble guts the second we pulled out of the parking lot. :(

Salad bar not up to par and no sunflower seeds.

Had chicken for two with lots of vegetables. The meat everyone knows and that was as expected. All veggies were very well prepared. Staff was fast and friendly.

Excellent food & service for us!

Food is amazing, and it is so convenient that they have a drive through window. The only issues I have are that our drive through order is correct only like 80% of the time and it takes quite a while to prepare sometimes. Still so worth it though.

1 star. Only because zero is not available. The meat is 90% fat. The food has no flavor. The service is lackluster.

Not the friendliest server... To be fair we did show up during shift change... However that's not my fault. Food was fresh and yummy!

This was sooooo BAD I still can't believe it the next day! First there was lipstick and funk on our glasses. The the orders came out ice cold. Then I asked for silverware twice before I got that. We politely asked for hot food and the manager (Ashley) personally brought new meals - WHICH WERE ALSO COLD and my sliced pork smelled like road kill and was gelatinous! I made quite a scene, walked out and warned several incoming customers who promptly left. I also contacted the health department. Eat here at your own risk!!

Food was kind of dry, but the waitress was awesome. Maybe it's the location?

Called numerous times and they would not answer between 12:30 and 1pm. I checked online and it said they were a little busy and the wait was 15 minutes. We will get take out from somewhere else being they are too busy to answer the phone. Disappointing

Plenty of tables but so short staffed they couldn’t seat anyone. Worst and slowest Sonny’s there is.

We were disappointed with the quality and quantity of the food we ordered. The pork was undercooked and very slimy. Will be a while before and if we go back.

Worst Sonny's I have ever been to.It took forever to get my salad plates,I had to stand up next to the salad bar to get anyone's attention to finally get one.Then when the sliced pork came out it was cold.Then I put my money on the table to get cashed out so I wouldn't have to wait 20 minute for that when I was done eating.When she came to get the money,I told her I needed another salad plate and she said ok,so she came back with the change and no salad plate.So I had to wait again.I usually give 20% tip or more,but just couldn't do it here.

Appreciate Sonny's. May not be my favorite BBQ, but they have very good food and service, consistent quality at all locations, and you can find one just about anywhere.

Dallas was a very nice server and our food was very good!

This was the worst Sonny's that we have ever been too. They were out of all the "all you can eat" options and were taking things off the menu as people were ordering due to running out of other items. The servers were great, but the management was poor. This also appeared to be an older location due for a remodel.

I love the way the meats are smoked but I just don't like their sauces. Good service and good food.

The food is great but our waiter Richard is working 4 tables while all the amother waitresses are standing around doing nothing. If you come here ask for Richard if hes not here dont eat here. Then one waitress was complaining about hiw kuch she hated her job and f this place and f that and trying to get other waitresses to walk off the job with her. So yea dont come and eat here unless Richard is youre waiter if not leave go somewhere else. BUT RICHARD'S SERVICE IS 👍👍👍👍👍

Litetally the worst slowest service I have ever had at any sonny's ever, someone that doesn't speak English would comprehend things better than our waitress

We tried it again but no better sat for 20 minutes no service then they come tell us the whole system is down ever time there is something I Don't recommend this place at all

Sonnys claims to have the best bbq around. Its not the best bbq but it is bbq. The food is nothing exceptional and we have been to a few different locations. The all you can eat ribs are ok. Some are tender and fall off the bone, others are tough and chewy. Its a hit or miss for bbq.

Took 17 min to get waitress to table for drink order. One hour lunch turned into an hour and 20 min. They were not that busy, but seemed disorganised.

Went there yesterday if you like bloody chicken cold fries and garlic bread along with a attitude from your waitress this is the place to go hell even if you want a sick day off work go here your guaranteed to be throwing up afterwards

Waitress was asked for some bbq sauce that ran out on the table and she told my mom to just get it off another table that it would be ok sense it was her table. Corn nuggets were cold when the waitress brought them to the table. Other then that all was really good.

Probably some of the best baby backs I've ever had.

After being seated and waiting for the order to arrive, I saw a brown mouse running from the kitchen area to near the restroom. After notifying a Sonny's employee, they did a thorough search in the area but did not find it. Also, the front inside entrance area was greasy (probably from using a filthy mop as it smelled bad). Might not visit this Sonny's for a while.

Food was excellent,service was fast

The waitress was really nice, but the food? Not so much.. it was a fairly short wait for the food, however the brisket tasted like its been sitting on the counter for a few hours, as it was cold & dry. Sweet tea was quite bland. ..only redeeming factor was the mac n cheese. but not even a stellar mac would make up for food poisoning...

Love the smoke and the sweet sauce. They have a great staff as well.
