Flavor is on-point! Ribs and BBQ chicken is fire. BBQ sauce is unique and delicious. Definitely coming back soon for round two. I stupidly got a side salad as one of my two sides. Who goes to a BBQ place and gets a side salad?! Anyway, seems a random spot, but food is so damn good. A few stars off for atmosphere because they could use a redecoration. It wouldn't cost much and it would make the place much more attractive. Then again, I came to eat, not to sit in a pretty environment.

Amazing service and food! Id recommend this place to anyone and I’ll def be back. I had the lemon pepper wings which were full of flavor. As was the Mac n cheese and collard greens.

Really great food. They know exactly what they're doing and it's 10/10! I tried the BBQ chicken with rice/peas and my 2 sides were Mac & cheese + potato salad . So good!

Food took forever and we didn't mind the wait to only be told that there were no more pork chops and when we asked for our money back they offered to then fry somemore

I quick googled soul food from the airport after visiting my family in New York and just feeling nostalgic. I saw this place and the vibration in the photo on google said “come on in” the space smells amazing. The floors are sparkly clean. The host and hostess were so kind and so generous with information and serving size. I was with my friend we ordered The Sunday BBQ specials of Ribs and Chicken Rice and Peaa, mac n cheese, string beans, fried okra, and plantains. Everything is freshly made and delicious. The vintage signs and art and clocks remind me of all my grandparents and community back home. I will recommend this space to friends and family and be visitor more! Thank YOU

This is my third time visiting Miami and I always try to travel to different restaurants each time. This will for sure be a repeat spot for me. The Oxtails were so tender falling off the bone!! The seasoning on the green beans and Mac and cheese was on point !! Waited maybe 10-15 mins for the food, was good customer service.

I've been in Miami since Sunday October 30th. And today is November 1st and me and my girlfriend came all the way from Dallas Texas. I tried several places here in Miami. But this place was the best place that I've eaten in Miami. And this may be the best soul food I've ever had in my life. And I'm a soul food fanatic. They have absolutely great food there and great service. The building is kind of old but I didn't come there to eat the building. I came there to eat the food and enjoy the service in the food and service was absolutely great. Big ups to all those guys over there. I will definitely be back when I come to Miami again.

I called four times , they never answer the phone , if they have this type of service I can imagine the service inside the place ! I won’t be going anytime soon ! Thanks

Favorite place to eat love the desserts sides portion can be a little bit more for the price for the plate worth it though

Food and everything was delicious

Well, food was expensive for the quantity given and quality was not there. I had chicken wings and mac&cheese. Neighborhood a little sketchy as well.

Nobody really enjoyed their meal. The Mac and cheese were pretty good. But the fish (tilapia)was a little salty for my taste.

Food is alright, but it's just alright nothing special. The staff and service is A+ though.

I have some good laughs at this place from the time I walked up to the door it was a guy sitting outside on the truck eating asking how was the food he said great I said what should I try he told me just get one of everything lol this is a family-owned restaurant so he most likely was one of the family but the food was great service was good and it's right by my grandparents house so I'll be back for sure

Stopped for a quick dinner after landing late at the Miami airport and was pleasantly surprised. Although the restaurant air felt stagnant and smelled of astringent cleaning product, the staff were professional and friendly, and the food was higher quality Southern comfort food. We got the ribs and the smothered pork chops.

Food was good. Was looking for a hole in the wall place to eat. This was the spot.

I’m not going to lie, this place is pretty good. I randomly chose this place finger crossing I wouldn’t get disappointed but you guys have a loyal customer now. I’m just upset at myself for forgetting the corn bread/muffin smh. But the ribs, potato salad, baked beans, cake was on point. The only thing that was ok was the Mac and cheese, I felt it was a little too soft but it was still good. Thank you for making my night complete

My wife and I went twice on different days and times and got a variety of foods. Both servers were very pleasant and helpful. Thank you for your excellent customer service. As for the food, exceptional. Mac, slaw, yams really good. Turkey wings, chicken same. Both were seasoned, juicy, and large as far as a portion. But the collard greens were the best we have ever had. Not even a close second. Going back again for catfish and shrimp. Check the pictures out and give them a try. You will be full of tasty goodness and you won't be broke because the prices were very good. Bless up!!

The best Soul Food. Large selection. The smothered pork chops, oxtails, stew beef, fried conch are my favorite. The sides; black eyes peas, mac 'n cheese, rice, limes, collards, cabbage and more are delicious also. There's a whole lot more. Breakfast is great too! Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

OMG. Excuse my french but those damn smothered chicken wings will make you slap your momma. You must try them immediately. The cashier/ the one that greets you when you walk in is super sweet. Best soul food ever. Cooked when ordered, so it's really fresh but doesn't take long. It's a family business so they really care about their plates and the portions are nice. I ordered the fried pork chop dinner with 3 sides. Delicious! Ms. Sofie is the bomb!

This is a little hole-in-the-wall in some unheard-of part of Miami that serves absolutely delicious soul food. The plates are massive, enough food for two. The price is middle-range approximately 8 to $14 but you will want to come back here again. I keep finding that these little places serve the best food.

Food was just what I needed ! I'm from Georgia and often homesick this place was friendly service and tasty food. Was hard to find thou maybe another sign. I highly recommend him way better than matties soulfood.
