Love the place. Sitting al fresco, although under a roof, can get quite hot in summer

wine - lasted bitter, served room temp wine in a hot restaurant, gave a huge headache after only one glass bread and olive oil - complementary and underwhelming. olive oil tasted bland and bread was just ok. no fresh cracked pepper on table entrees- pasta was very good, steak was alright (ordered filet but it didn’t feel cooked like one, no sear and felt like a different cut of meat, side dishes over salted) - wouldn’t order again service- was good and attentive except for a few things. no clear hostess stand when you walk in. they said my card didn’t go through even though it was deducted from my bank and i felt the server gave attitude about it instead of reassurance. did not mention if tip was included. complementary limoncello which was nice one pasta, one steak and two glasses of wine cost $100. as mentioned, we were not informed whether or not trip was included. ambiance was nice and like a typical italian restaurant (including no ac) but id imagine this was would be uncomfortable with a full restaurant on a hot day. maybe would stop to get pasta if i was in the area but wouldn’t go out of my way.

This restaurant is really cute. My friends used to loved this place but we went back recently and didn’t like it at all. The food was disappointing. It’s not difficult to find a good Italian food here in Miami, but this one is below standard. They had a show that day that was really loud and totally messed up the atmosphere of the place. The worst thing is that we had more than one cockroach on our table 🥲

I have lived in the area for 8 years and I regret not having gone before to visit this place, I am Venezuelan but I grew up with Italian culture and gastronomy, I worked since I was 17 years old in the best Italian restaurants in Miami and the best chain in Mexico. I could assure you that this has been one of the best Italian food restaurants I have tried, they have excellent food, service and vintage-style atmosphere. Very pleased and in love with the Italian cuisine of this place and thank you very much to the kind Sicilian who took care of us first! Don’t leave without trying the Sicilian mini cornetto! Are amazing!!

Dining with Cockroaches: A Disappointing Experience at Soya a Pomodoro A few years ago, I visited Soya a Pomodoro and found everything wonderful. However, my recent visit to celebrate my birthday was a complete disappointment. I called and reserved for 12 people on Friday night, informing them that it was a special occasion. Upon arrival, everything seemed beautiful, and the staff was friendly, but the first warning signs appeared quickly. They served us some bread to nibble on, but its presentation was depressing: the bread was hard and they didn’t even bother to warm it up. My boyfriend had to get up and fetch glasses because the table wasn’t properly set. Before the main courses arrived, we were surprised by two cockroaches. One even dared to climb onto the table, and one of my friends discreetly caught it with a glass. We called a waiter, who took it away without showing any surprise, making us think it wasn’t the first time something like this had happened at the restaurant. The main courses were not tasty. They were edible, but their flavor was not up to the standards of an Italian restaurant; the culinary experience was very poor. To top it off, when we asked for the bill and got home, we realized that the staff didn’t take the time to make the birthday girl feel special by singing “Happy Birthday” or giving her a candle on any dessert. I will definitely not return, and my friends feel the same way. It’s a shame because Soya a Pomodoro used to be a good restaurant, but unfortunately, it has fallen very low.

Poor quality and taste, the interior design is quirky which may appeal to some however it is uncomfortable due to the cheap seats and no AC. Unfortunately it’s a let down.

This is as close as you’re going to get to Italy without being in Italy. The food is authentic Italian cuisine and the ambiance captures a typical restaurant in Italy. I’ve been here several times but recently went with some friends who really liked it as well. If you’re looking for fake Italian dishes like Chicken Alfredo, you’d be better off at an Olive Garden.

I would Always, bike, Past & knew I had to stop in. Love the atmosphere of this place, nestled into downtown. The Star Of The show is their handmade pastas, we tried the pear and taleggio with shrimp sauce it did not disappoint. We also got the antipasta appetizer which has housemade mozzarella, very fresh meats with olives. Was such a nice start to the meal with the bread & olive oil accompaniment . The chicken & mushroom dish was the least impressive out of everything, not really special and slightly under seasoned - we would skip it for another pasta next time. The owner was in store while we were there and he was very friendly, as well as the rest of the staff. Feels like m a slice of Italy in downtown Miami for a very fair price, that hits freshness & high quality standards. Will absolutely return.

It's a trip to flavor HEAVEN!!!

If you go for lunch BRING BUG SPRAY I have so many mosquito bites that's the ONLY downside. Plus it's not busy until later, so go later if you want live music and more people. But food was really good, service was great and the bread was yummy. And even though there were very few people, the interior decor was really cool and you could easily imagine how fun it would be at night with lights.

Much Much Better than Italian Main land food. was expected as around not quality food. But. it is pretty good food served. This is the best Italian restaurant near downtown Miami.

Unimpressed by the food, I had high expectations and unfortunately I wasn’t satisfied. Pasta was average and a little tasteless, the fish was the better plate; deserts were awful. Additionally the lack of cleanliness made it even more uncomfortable. We thought it was going to be a cozy and authentic Italian experience in Miami but I would not try it again. Nevertheless, all staff were all helpful and friendly.

Music a bit loud. Restaurant automatically includes 20% tip then suggests gratuity below it, confusing the customer (we accidentally tipped 40% as a result, though they agreed to cancel the tip after I realized and called). They also charge for the live music which I feel left a bitter taste since we were not aware that their decision to have live music at their restaurant would cost us extra without our consent. In addition, they charge 8% tax when it is supposed to be 7%.. seems very suspicious. As for food, pear ravioli is more like cheese ravioli. Didn’t taste any pear. Just creamy sauce. Supposed to come with shrimp but barely had any. Tiny bits spread around. Tasty enough though, and portion was fine. They did bring us complimentary little shots of limoncello which was nice. And service overall was good.

Transport yourself right to Rome or Florence, you pick, this restaurant is the bomb, unprtentious with delicious italian fare.

Best hidden gem at a seemingly rundown area. Everything we ordered came quickly and fresh, super hot and delicious. Attentive service with unbeatable ambiance. Extra 2 dollars each person was charged on the bill but totally worth elevated the whole atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Food was disappointing and overpriced. Salad came without dressing, received the wrong order. I was excited to try this place but it just didn’t live up the hype. Felt like a tourist trap.

This place was SO GOOD! I was nervous as I am down here limited days and wanted to have good food and not waste an opportunity on good food. This has been my favorite restaurant of my whole trip. Service is very professional and the food is AMAZING. We had the bruschetta with fresh tomatoes and basil on top and it very well may have been the freshest tomatoes I’ve ever had. I then was stuck between two dishes for dinner and took the servers recommendation and was not disappointed. Very fresh and delicious food. The scenery is also very unique and appealing. Very friendly staff! I would go here again! I recommend trying it at-least once. The prices are very reasonable as the portions are very filling! I ordered the Fazzoletti Di Formaggio E Pera

Location is cool. Band was fun. Food was tasteless. Bathroom was disgusting.

Food is decent. They took to much time to take our order, and it was a date and they put it EXTREMELY close to other two tables.

We had a reservation for 6 pm, we arrived 10 minutes early and they made us sit on a sofa that is in the middle of the Restaurant, by the way, with aptitude on the part of the person, we were there for a while, all the employees passed by and we were invisible until a person appeared attentive gentleman and asked us if we wanted to have something... I told him to give me the wine list and again we were invisible... a large group of people arrived and they sat them at their table and we continued to be invisible... until the gentleman He realized and they sat us down... curiously, the girl with the aptitude was the one who sat us down. It continued the same, her attention was worse than the reception, terrible attention, she was almost all the time leaning on the counter at the Cell Phone. We ended up asking for the bill and it included 20% of Tips unfairly... then the Gentleman realized our Discomfort because bad attention and invites a panna cotta for dessert Late already... bad Bad evening Attention and food Bland... I don't recommend it

I just wanted to eat a salad and leave Menu looks really weak anyways If you’re in Miami I’ll pass this place ! I told the manager and he didn’t even care

This place is a hidden gem which once you are inside the restaurant, you are transported to a warm, casual and a variety of flavors that stun one’s taste buds.

This is a beautiful restaurant. It looks like it’s in a converted church or old theatre. Makes a beautiful setting. The service is very good and attentive. We shared the mozzarella salad to start, hot complimentary bread made a great appetizer. For an entree I had the beef spaghetti which was very good. My wife had the seafood spaghetti. Whilst the spaghetti fettuccini is fresh. She found the dish quite odd. Without shrimp so just clams and mussels and with celery. She didn’t really enjoy it but recognized the quality. I think $90 for 3 dishes is pretty high with $5 cokes. I recognize this is a nice restaurant in a nice surrounding but there are better.

We love going to eat at Soya. They serve delicious authentic Italian food made by Italian chefs. The ambience is lovely. The restaurant is housed in a charming, character-filled building with exposed brick walls, rustic wooden tables, and soft, warm lighting. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, reminiscent of dining in a traditional Italian home. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience. We highly recommend it!

I had dinner with my husband Saturday evening the food was horrible I got Filet Mignon it tasted like it was boiled! why would you cover Filet Mignon in heavy gravy which is the way it was served in addition the appetizer was also terrible and the server was very rude we would never go back there

Absolutely Awful! We were sat at 9:45,we were rushed into odering our Dinner immediately by the waitress , as we were told the kitchen was about to close.. we ordered a mozerella ball tomatoe salad that seemed tasted (and looked) like it had been sitting in the refrigerator for 2 weeks, tomatoes that were cold and hard, mozzerella looked like melting ice cream and had no flavor.. by the time the waitress came back to check on us,another waiter was dropping off our dinners.. my wife had some sort of Filet Mignon dish ( at least they told us it was Filet) that tasted like it was cooked in boiling water, not a char mark on the meat,red and brown on the inside,no flavor,shoe leather would had tasted better..i had a bolognese, which was tolerable at best... the sad thing is i am not exaggerating on any of this..we are foodies,especially enjoy Italian Cuisine and have been in Many Many Otalian restaurants in both the US & Italy...this was by far the WORST food and preparation that we have ever come across.. the truly sad thing is, they could not have cared less.. not a person , other than our waitress with complete attitude presented themselves to our table... there only interest from the time we were sat,was to get us out of there as quickly as possible, so they all could go enjoy their Saturday evening, upon ruining ours...i refused to pay for our Dinners... Needless to say, a total disappointment and would never recommend or go back to again.. Simply AWFUL!!!

Proprio italiano! Authentic italian dishes, from primi piatti to deserts and coffee, enjoyed in the unpretentious covered arcade downtown, reminiscent of true italian dining. I look forward to returning soon.

Fantastic! ASCASO Gallery is near the restaurant actually they have exposition of Jesús Soto a well known Venezuelan cinetism artist around the world.

I enjoyed the food overall but the clams had a very chlorinated flavor and the octopus’s carpaccio lacked a lot of flavor and felt too rubbery. But overall the drinks, entrees and deserts were phenomenal and the ambience was great! Will definitely come back again

I like alternative vibe and decoration, but hygiene has to be better considering this it is a restaurant and operates with food. There were several flies (bugs) on and around our table. I had shrimp pasta which is one of the worst I have ate in Florida so far. Shrimps were extremely small and tasteless as well as the whole dish. Wouldn’t recommend. My husband’s pasta was a bit better but still we wouldn’t come again to eat it. Dessert was good, though overpriced in my opinion. Staff is nice and polite and because of that and original interior I liked, I am giving 3 stars

Love love love. Believe the hype. Great comfort food! We were hesitant that it was going to be a tourist trap but it definitely delivered. Quaint place. Friendly fast service. Price was decent. Gnocchi was simple and delicious. The lasagna! Tasted like some grandmother made it with love! Very homely, VERY delicious. We will be squeezing more return visits into our short vacation for sure. Gotta try out all the dishes!!!

I've been coming here for many years. It is a great place to visit. The food and the venue are awesome. They also have excellent live music.

Overall the food was good. The location was nice but not very accessible. The downside is the age of the building. Yes it gives it character but then you really pay attention and you see that it is actually falling apart. Around the area there are other italoan locations so it is a very competitive market.

Perfect spot to meet your girlfriend’s brother. Food is mad tasty too.

Sitting in this place is like being in Italy. 1923 building, though the main dining area is in the old entrance to a bank with very high ceilings. So unique in cement City Miami. Thursday evenings they have live music, jazz style. The food is great and reasonably priced.

I love this place so much. I came here to celebrate my sister bday and there was a live jazz band, the food and service was exceptional! The band even played and sang happy birthday to my sister. I will always keep coming back!

The only reason I am giving a star to this place today is because of the server. Unfortunately the food was awful tonight. I am really disappointed that the quality of the food has not been good as it has in the past. From the appetizer to the main course, it was really different than other past experiences.

Lovely restaurant and a breath of fresh air in Miami.

Stepped in after a day at the Perez Art museum and was thoroughly impressed. The inside was beautifully decorated and offered an intimate atmosphere. We went on a Thursday, and there was live jazz, which is always a favorite of mine. We ordered Aperol Sprtiz and an assortment of cheese and meat that were fantastic. I ordered the Lamb Shank, and it was amazing! The Ravioli was also equally delicious. Service was quick and easy, and dessert was just as delicious as the main course. We ordered a Creme Brulee to finish off and was delighted as well. All in all, it's a fantastic restaurant. I would 100% recommend and visit again!

Highly recommend! A hidden gem in the center of Downtown. The food is delicious and cheap, the atmosphere and design of the restaurant are unique. The staff was kind and attentive! Just and opinion, it ll be better if the staff offered us some drink or wine with the food. Just a comment!

Tiene una carta bastante amplia y aunque no es un restaurante para veganos, fueron muy flexibles en adaptar el plato que quería para que quedara vegano. La comida es deliciosa y no dudaría en volver muchas veces. La pasta es artesanal y de gran calidad. Es un gran lugar para ir a comer. El servicio es excelente. Recibí mucha disposición del personal de atender mis necesidades de alimentación. Un lugar súper recomendado.

Just went here for the first time last Friday night and I can say it is the best Italian food in Miami. Family-type service, great atmosphere and the food was just amazing. I highly recommend the Eggplant to start and any of the pastas are great! Definitely coming again soon.

A great place to eat downtown Miami. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and the food is very good. Our server was very good and on top of things. We were in a hurry due to the train being late, they were accommodating to us for being late. They also were able to move things along so we could get to the Miami Book Fair.

Highly recommend!! I stopped in for lunch after a colleague recommended it, and it far exceeded expectations. The service was top-notch. (When the staff and some of the patrons are speaking Italian, you know you're going to get some good food!) Got eggplant parmesan at the recommendation of the server, and it was superb. Also had chocolate cake for dessert at his recommendation - amazing. Everyone was so nice and friendly, and the place itself was such a cool location. If you're looking for really good food in downtown Miami, you have to visit!! I'm just sad I have to leave tomorrow and won't be able to go back multiple times!

The worst experience I’ve had in Miami so far. There was a cockroach in the table as we started eating the appetizer. On top of that, the service was extremely slow and they were zero considerations on the disgusting experience apart from giving a free dessert we did not ask for. Never coming back, obviously the place is not clean and the owners are incapable of paying exterminators according to their location needs.

The food was good and the ambiance was very nice however the waitress was extremely rude and unprofessional. It was the first time I have actually been yelled at by a waiter/waitress in a restaurant. It doesn’t matter how great a restaurant is, if the staff treats you poorly. Definitely will never go back and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Very special place!! 👏🏻 We went last night for first time, for my bf birthday. The atmosphere was incredible. Immediately after we step there, we feel in another city. Very unique and creative decor in an old lobby. It was a little hot, nothing crazy, we joke that the heat makes us feel that we really were in an outdoor street. The vibe and attention was great from all the staff, specially our server Frida, she was lovely. They gave us Limoncello from the house for the birthday boy 🥂 Live Jazz was good, very romantic and not so loud, therefore you can talk even if you are sitting close to the musicians. Food was DELICIOUS, fettuccine al dente, prosciutto with artichokes, capresa salad. Even though I’m not a big fan of lamb, I tried from my bf plate and it was wow. Decent portions, not to big so we wouldn’t feel so guilty. Gelato with a shot of expresso, mmmm 😋 We will definitely come back, specially when the weather get a little cooler!

This was a great find!! So glad we went here. The service is above most places we visit. The team there is a well oiled machine. There are multiple people waiting in you. The food was excellent and dessert was to die for. On top of all that, the atmosphere was so awesome and the live music was a bonus. I would advise everyone to check this place out.

This is one of the”those spots” unassuming, and subtle. Decor could be defined as eclectic. Building feels of old history, be aware though, no AC. It’s pretty damn warm in here. Love that they serve Acqua Panna water, my favorite Our party had a variety of dishes, you know it’s good when a table of 8 goes quiet when food is delivered. The fettuccine bolognese was to die for, I cleaned the plate. Nice touch with the lemonchello shot at the end of the meal. A+

Went with a group of friends for dinner to find out there’s no air conditioning? In the middle of the summer in Miami, I’m very confused how people could comfortably enjoy a meal. We were all sweating, the food was underwhelming and the wine selection was limited. Would not go back.

Fresh-made pasta - what’s better than that? Super-cool decor makes you feel as though you’re dining in downtown Napoli. Live music, friendly service. Wine list could use an overhaul but this place is always a good time.

I’ve visited Miami a couple times and typically the service is awful. BUT, Soya e Pomodoro staff were extremely attentive and the best I’ve had here. Frieda was our server — kind with great eye contact. A man whose name starts with an E understands service to a T. He spotted our balsamic vinegar leaking while I poured, and immediately came back to wipe the bottle, offered paper napkins, and new silverware. We ended dinner with complementary limoncello which was delicious. I’m so happy to have come to this local restaurant.

I’ve been coming here for years. Consistently excellent and highly authentic Italian food. The staff is super friendly and the chef will come out to great his clients, he really cares about your experience. The atmosphere is lovely in an open air establishment inside of a historic building of downtown Miami. Ask about their specials is it changes daily. Would recommend.

The Carbonara was really mediocre. I was disappointed.

Five star service, incredibly fresh and tasty dishes, live music, great wines - this place could not have been better! We each had the fazzoletti and paired with a rose. The service was outstanding with how they anticipated your needs before asking and the ambiance was amazing. Parking garages around range $15-$20 and street parking by meter where available.
