Been here a few times now and never disappointed! Sandwiches are always very tasty and fresh along with the rolls used. I usually get the chicken cheese steak with cooper sharp, onions and sweet peppers which is always good and have tried the Italian recently and was loaded with meat, got a small and it was very filling and the price was not expensive at all. Will be returning soon to try the Philly cheesesteak. Keep up the good work guys and Go Birds 🦅

We stopped by on the way to the Reading Phillies game. There’s a nice Philly sports vibe, and the food and service were excellent. Highly recommend!

The customer service the moment we walked into Spenny’s, was very welcoming, it was our first time here and definitely not our last! From the price friendly menu, all the way to the amazing flavors and spices used within their food was phenomenal. I can tell you between my spouse and I, we both can agree that this food will not make you feel guilty after eating! Consistency is key and is what everybody looks for when wanting a nice bite out. Great prices, great customer service, and great tasting food that sits just right, all makes this family owned business one that you just have to go and try for yourself! Also not to mention how clean the establishment was, I am just in awe with everything & we will be coming back 😊

I moved to reading bout year n half ago I’ve tried every restaurant in surrounding area i now only eat at two places ! Home and Spenny’s! Find me there every Saturday!!! Best in town hands down on all levels!!! If you know business then any place that can fully function opening 4 days a week is saying volume! The quality and the quantity is amazing!!! & can’t forget about the tater tots!!! Omg

Ended up here because Tony's was closed for the holiday. Ordered the Philly Special (steak + fries + drink) and a large Italian. Price was more than reasonable for the quantity and quality. Starting with the food - the cheesesteak was pretty solid, good ratios and good bread. The Italian was phenomenal. Absolutely LOADED with good meat, great ratios on the meat and veg. Super fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Fries were perfectly crisped and even the fountain drinks tasted "fresh" - no flatness whatsoever. The service was great. We had food brought out to us quickly, fountain drinks refilled without having to move a muscle, and at the end, they came to our table, took our leftovers and wrapped them up for us. Can't say I've had that before, but loved it. The inside is Philly sports themed, mostly Eagles themed and cozy inside. Enough space to sit down and be comfortable, even when busy. I can't wait to return and Go Birds.

We door dashed our order. The Hot Honey Cheesesteak with long hots was delish, along with the California Cheesesteak. Rolls were so good. We got the spenny fries and onion rings and they were great too. Definitely will be ordering again!

If you are looking for a REAL Philly Cheesesteak in the Reading area, look no further than Spenny's on Rt 61. The food is phenomenal, and the service is hands down the best I've had in this area. The Classic Jawn is so simple- yet SOO delicious. The loaded tots and one of their floats or milkshakes are the perfect sides with one of their chopped ribeye steaks. Personally I love the orange float! But they did just add a Peach milkshake too...that will be the next one I try! You really can't have a thing here that is even "so-so", because everything is just phenomenal!!! The prices are extremely reasonable also. I can't say a bad thing about this place, but I CAN go on and on about how great the food service and atmosphere is. Keep up the great work guys !

It's like this place was dropped here straight outta Philly. Me and my nephew have been on the hunt for the best cheesesteak in Berks Co. And I think we need not look any further!!! Kudos to Spennys and if you haven't tried it I highly recommend the Classic Jawn Cooper Wit!!!

Ordered a few cheesesteaks and a couple orders of Spenny’s fries via pickup. Best cheesesteak I’ve had in awhile. Great prices with sizable portions. I recommend if you are looking for a new cheesesteak spot.

Cheesesteak is top tier.....I wish I lived closer....beats 98 percent of spots in philly....go here...it's definitely the JAWN....and it's proportionally sound throughout...everything is balanced...nothing overwhelmed the other...well done!!!!

I'm originally from the Philly area and have had my share of Cheesesteaks. My wife and I heard good things about this place and decided to check it out. Let me tell you, this is one of the best cheesesteaks I've ever had! I had the " Classic Jawn" which is a Ribeye Steak with Cooper Sharp and Fried Onions on a fresh roll. I also enjoyed the crinkle cut fries, which were cooked just right. We spoke to the owner, and he told us that the whole family is running the place, including his wife and daughters. Let me tell you, they're doing it right! Next time, we'll have to try the delicious looking shakes. Also loved the Philly ambiance about the place. Bravo, Spenny's! We'll be back!

Love the atmosphere and always friendly service. I want this place to succeed so hopefully the feedback is helpful. The roll was a little dry and the sandwich could have used a lot more meat. The middle was great, but then just after a couple bites it was more chewy, dry, (slight burnt taste?) bread than meat, until the ends when it was all bread. The ratio of bread to meat is important and this sandwich (Hot Honey) did not have it right. I hope to give it another try on my next visit, the honey flavor was nice.

Amazing cheesesteak.. I ordered the 3rd degree and it rivaled Philadelphia cheesesteaks I've had in the past. A gem in the berks county area. Definitely give them a try, they deserve it.

We moved here from the Philly area and we have had every cheese steak from Philly and New Jersey my all time favorite has been Jim's Steaks but after the fire my boyfriend's coworkers mentioned this place well the chopped ribeye is favorable and a lot of meat on a delicious roll!! I have also have had their turkey hoagie which is just delicious!!

Checked out Spenny’s this past week while on a little trip to the Reading area. Checked out Tony’s a couple years ago and had been hearing I should check this place out and after looking over the menu, I agreed! Decided to go with “The Classic Jawn” - cooper sharp wit, and an order of the loaded tots that I split with my friend (who got herself a chicken cheesesteak). The woman who helped us at the counter, and the woman who brought the food/drinks to the table were both very friendly. The decor was also very cool. They had a fun neon sign and the one wall was littered with various reading and Philly lore. The loaded tots came with bacon and a sauce that was like an American cheese sauce and ranch hybrid. The tots were nice and crispy even with all of the wet and heavy stuff on them and the flavor was very good. I’d get these anytime I stopped here. The classic jawn was a very good steak. I felt at $13 that the amount of meat was perfectly fine but I could see people complaining…it’s what they do 🤦🏻‍♂️. Ribeye with cooper sharp and a small dice onion on a seeded Corropolese roll. It was exactly what I’d hoped for when heading in. I’d go back for sure and I’d order the same exact thing. Spenny’s in Reading, PA - Didn’t Suck!

Oh boy so glad we found this place! Born and raised outside Philly, and this place is the real deal. Best cheesesteak I’ve had in my entire 55 year life… I got the Always Honey w/cooper sharp. Wife got the Classic Jawns…The rolls OMG!

I've heard a lot of good about this place. So I decided to give them a try. I've been looking for a restaurant that can make a good cheese steak. WOW!! I finally found the place and only place to get a good well made cheese steak!! Kudos to Spenny's.

After seeing a social media video about this spot, I stopped in to try it a few weeks ago. Since that visit, I have been back 3 more times in less than 3 weeks. The people are friendly and helpful, even being VERY busy every time I’ve gone. Everything I’ve eaten has been amazing! Their bread is perfectly soft. The meat is juicy and cheesy (not dry like so many other local places). I can’t wait to try everything on their menu! I’ve had their Classic Jawn cheesesteak with Cooper, It’s Always Honey hot honey cheesesteak, Chicken cheesesteak with Provolone, Spenny fries (Okd Bay and cheese), and Onion Rings (with spicy boom-boom sauce). It has all been wonderful, and I’ve heard great things about their Milk Shakes! I might have found my new favorite sandwich spot! Try it… you won’t be disappointed

I was in the area for work and had to check this place out. It was great! The classic jawn was delicious and I loved the old bay cheese sauce on the fries. Yes yes yes! The service was beyond friendly and I got family vibes. My boys love cheesesteaks and I will literally drive the hour on a weekend to take them to try this out.

Had the Jawn with cooper sharp and onions with Philly fries. Growing up in Philly, I have been looking for a good place for steaks up here. Well my search is over. These steaks and fries are terrific. The owners and workers are also terrific. The Philly theme inside is awesome. Spennies is the real deal ! I will be back.

1st visit here! Was pleasantly surprised at their sandwiches we ordered the Cheesesteak, boy was it delicious 😋. Normally we go to Gazzos Food Truck. But since we found this place, no need to go that far. And they are right around the corner!

My wife says one day "saw this place on TikTok" and wanted to check it out. Wow this place has awesome sandwiches! Yeah, it was busy, so what. Good food takes time! I'm coming back and eating in next time so I can sample some of the great sounding appetizers.

Been to Spennys a couple of times and it never disappoints. Food and service is always superb. I typically get a classic jawn but I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried it’s always honey. Wow! The flavor was fantastic! I highly recommend. On a side note: shout out to the front staff who made sure that an elderly gentleman sat down and was ok while waiting for his takeout. Love to see Spennys treating customers like family.

Read all the reviews, they sounded great. 1st Time there. Ordered a Regular chstk w/fried onions & Am ch. Steaks was presented well, but flavorless, roll is very good, believe it to be a Conshohocken Roll. Service was complete chaos, nice people, but disorganized. Need to figure out the front of the house. Overall not worth the effort of fighting traffic and poor parking due to cost and flavorless chstk.

Possibly the best cheesesteak I’ve ever had including at least 5-6 I’ve had in Philly. Only one even comparable was Woodrow’s on South St. I will definitely be back.

This jawn slaps. Easily one of the top 5 cheesesteaks I’ve ever had, scratch that… probably the best cheesesteak. Would have taken a picture but devoured it before I could snap a pic of the perfect ratio cooper sharp and ribeye. WILL BE BACK AGAIN! BTW GO BIRDS!!!

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. Somebody sent me a message on Instagram since they know I’m a Google review a cheesesteak connoisseur. Anyway, I went down here last week for lunch. Those are on a 30 minute drive for me. Plenty of parking out front very easy to find. From the time I entered the place till the time I left were absolutely phenomenal. Ended up meeting the owner, Jim and his wife and two daughters who worked there. Just amazing people with such great personalities. Now let’s get to the food. We ordered the classic Jawn with cooper cheese and sauted onions on a corpolese seeded roll, their ribeye seasoned meat with out of this world, crinkle cut fries on the side cooked to perfection and a fountain soda to wash down. The food was off the hook and I told Jim the owner I thought his cheesesteaks were better than some top Philly spots including Angelo’s which is a south Philly staple. Please make sure you keep this on your list you will Not be disappointed.

I got the Philly-thing Fries, the It's Always Honey Cheesesteak and a Chocolate Milkshake. I wanted something a little different this time. It was odd, but it all worked together! It wasn't too overpowering to take away from the steak itself. The Fries and Milkshake were good as well. Will def be back.

We tried Spenny's for the first time today. We were driving by and decided to stop in. The parking lot was crowded and the tables were fairly full. All of the staff was so pleasant despite being very busy. Although it was a bit of a wait for our food, it was well worth it. My husband had the It's Always Honey and said it was by far the best steak sandwich he ever had. I had a California Chicken Cheese steak and it was beyond yummy. This is our new favorite place! I would highly recommend!

I grew up in Philly, where you can find a Cheese Steaks in Philadelphia everywhere in the city and when l moved to Reading Pa. When l saw people put sauce on a cheese Steaks l said who does that to a to cheese Steaks. Spenny's gave me hope. I walked, love the welcomed feeling. The cheese steaks were like, l remember growing up in Philly. Awesome and my new place to eat.

Steaks are delicious, the best around here actually. Was surprised that they let us order like ten minutes before they closed down and were friendly. That said, 35.00 for two steaks only cheese and sauce and a milkshake and they didn’t come with fries 😒

Absolutely love this place. Food is delicious, the staff and owner are friendly and polite. My only issue is I wish they sold the cheesesteaks in small and large because sometimes I want a cheesesteak but can't eat a whole large and have no one to share it with and I am not a fan of reheating. That would be my only suggestion. Otherwise it is perfect.

Cheesesteaks were fantastic. My go-to place for steaks recently closed and I hadn't found a new one, until now. Spenny's steaks are filled with meat, really good rolls, not too much bread, soft rolls. We also got basic tots and the sweet potato waffle fries with caramel sauce... so yummy. You get A LOT of food. Service was great, small family run place. Chocolate milkshake was also very good, made with real milk and Hershey's choc ice cream. 10/10 My parents prefer "true" Berks County steaks with marinara, and I will definitely recommend they try Spenny's, as they have a steak with marinara too.

I'm from Texas and this was my first experience with a real Philly cheese steak. Let me just say I was blown away with the quality of food. Don't pass this place up. The owner was friendly and talked to us. But man, that Philly was so good. Good quality product and worth the money. Can't wait to come back to Reading JUST to eat here again.
