Fantastic winery, where Tempranillo is king. Lots of amazing choices, chill patio, and kid/dog friendly too. You can actually see the grapes/vineyard here vs some other tasting spaces. Great place to enjoy a relaxed Texas wine experience.

I love this place we are wine club members and we live almost 2 hours away!

Cameron was amazing! Great somm, informative and kind. He was accommodating even though they had a private event going on and were technically closed to the public. Super sweet person. On the other hand, some employees at Spicewood Vineyards should be taught to speak the truth in kindness when they are closed for a private event. The wine world brings people together who appreciate the hard work that goes into creating every single bottle of wine. There should not be any room for rude people in this realm and it should be the first thing that is taught to all employees. Those that don’t understand should choose a different career instead of being a horrible representation of the owner’s vision, which I’m sure was not intended to be that. Overall we still loved this place, the wine was great. It was the first vineyard we visited in Texas and we hope that we continue to find the southern hospitality that we expected at other vineyards.

Beautiful property in the Texas hill country. Not too far from Austin and certainly worth the drive if you’re in town visiting. We stopped by mid day on Friday and it was t crowded at all. The staff is super knowledgeable, food is amazing, and the wine is of course superb!

Always enjoy the wine and the ambience.

If you pull up and think this is a garbage can, you’re wrong. But there isn’t one too far away so don’t panic like I did. Good🍷 btw

Excellent wine, grounds, service, and atmosphere at Spicewood Vineyards. Stopped before our camping trip at Grelle to check it our, stopped again when leaving because it is awesome. Every wine we tasted was super tasty. We are big on natural, low intervention wines as well as Texas vineyards with Texas grapes. Syrah, Mouvedre, Blend 2, and all of the wines in the flight were excellent. If you are anywhere near here aka in Austin, make a trip! In addition to the wine, we saw painted buntings and a blue grosbeak 🎉

It's a Texas winery using Texas grapes to make good wine. Enjoyed the tasting and several wines including the Viognier and Cinsault Rose. They have a Pinot Noir made with Russian River Valley grapes (Sonoma Cty California) but all the other wines including a Cabernet Franc are Texas grown. Close to Austin and Opie's BBQ.

Visited Spicewood Vineyards for the Solar Eclipse. Loved the wines, atmosphere and beautiful territory. Would love to come back!

Unexpectedly great. No sweet wines at all (thankfully), and our server was excellent and nice. Happily surprised to have some dry reds in the mix. Great atmosphere and a would definitely come back!

We have been coming here for 6 years and love it every time! Paul, Cameron, Allie, and Ron always take great care of us. They are very dog friendly and always welcoming of our antics. The wine is great, especially their Pet Nat and Tempranillo. I highly recommend this place, and we look forward to our next visit.

This is my favorite winery in Texas. They check all of the boxes and then some: wonderful wine, beautiful location, great wine club, and a staff that treats you like family. Thank you for creating such a wonderful product and experience. My 1-2 visits per year are always a highlight. Oh and the chili cookoff was awesome. That flyover!

Spicewood Vineyards is a very good TX winery, located in Spicewood, TX, a stone's throw from Dripping Springs, TX. We went on a Sunday, our first event at the winery, the 16th annual chili cookoff, and boy what fun it was. The winery location is beautiful, "out in the country" with beautiful views and a creek that runs right through the property. The wines are good, slight edge to the reds over the whites. The tempranillo is very good, as well as the Bordeaux-style red blend. On the white side, viognier was the star. Very friendly staff, even though the place was a zoo! Kids and pets welcome here! We liked it enough to join the wine club! The only suggestion for events of this type, have serving lines for members, that would be an extra little perk for those who have chosen to join the club! Recommend Spicewood Vineyards!

Not too far out of the way when you're visiting Marble Falls area. Very close to Opie's BBQ in Spicewood, TX. Very good wine variety and a very calm, relaxing patio with pleasant views and a light breeze. Very chill atmosphere. Very delightful. 100% recommend visiting Spicewood Vineyards.

A lot of fun. Wonderful atmosphere -- very chill with rustic glamor. Chris was amazing! Her cheese suggestions completely elevated the tasting experience. Chris was knowledgeable and friendly. Totally customized the experience for us because we shared the estate tasting and customized the regular sampling. I learned in not into rose or pat mat haha. But we loved the Tandem, good guy(s), and muscat blanc. Also super friendly dogs made it feel more like home.

Love the atmosphere. Enjoyed the tasting and education on barrels I asked about. The Merlot was not what I was expecting, which was pleasant. The Independence is also worth trying out, they do sell it by the glass. I joined the Wine Club and am looking forward to those release events. They also have some other items for cooking... Balsamic and oil options.

There’s a nice indoor space and patio. Unfortunately, the wine just wasn’t for us and we found the staff we interacted with to be a bit standoffish and a little rude at points. Overall it was ok but we wouldn’t go back having had better experiences elsewhere nearby

We never travel to central Texas without stopping by to see the wonderful crew at Spicewood Vineyards and pick up a few of our favorite bottles of wine. Paul, Cameron and Allie are just the best people and have always made us feel welcome since we started coming here a few years back. Whenever anyone asks us our favorite Fredericksburg winery we tell them to drive up to Spicewood for the best experience—no name tags, no stoppers on the wine bottles, no pushy sales, and they’re dog friendly. All that said, the wines are award winning and exceptional. You won’t regret a stop that might be a little out of the way.

I discovered this place not long ago and I love it. The place is beautiful. The wines are delicious and the seller is amiable and advise us very well. You can taste and buy them on site.

I tried some of the other wineries in the area and this is my favorite by far. The atmosphere and the space are incredible.

Great wine, property, and people. We enjoyed a wine tasting and got greeted by blueberry the dog. We didn’t buy a bottle only due to having to fly back to Michigan. Would highly recommend!

It was okay. Very small pours for the $20, no offer of water or cheese with crackers like other vineyards. The gentleman did not seem very happy and made the experience a little sad. We did buy a bottle.

Relaxing environment. Excellent wine. Also allows kids. We love bringing our toddlers and bringing lunch!

The place is beautiful. We had a nice time, dog and kid friendly. They were prepared with Gluten Free crackers for the cheeses platter which was a huge plus.

Every time we go for a tasting, we are blown away! There was not a wine we didn't like! Dainbramaged...our server was knowledgeable, so personable, and just made us feel "at home"! Kuddos and 5 thumbs up!

From a wedding photographer's perspective, the vineyard is positioned perfectly so when golden hour hits, the light is PERFECT. Absolutely stunning vineyards, and the field behind the venue has absolutely gorgeous golden grass, your wedding photos will be exploding with vibrant colors. You can rest easy knowing that any photographer is going to have so many amazing options to capture your wedding day at Spicewood.

Me and wife stopped by on our weekend getaway in Spicewood and this place was a definite highlight! We loved every wine, the staff so extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and the grounds were beautiful as well. We loved it so much we decided to become wine club members before we left!

We (family of 4 plus dog) had a wonderful time at this little vineyard tucked away in the middle of Hill Country. The wines were great (LOVED the 2018 Tempranillo) and the charcuterie board was massive and tasty. The one woman working there was incredibly hard-working, knowledgeable, and friendly. It's a beautiful and charming setting. This was an awesome spot on our trek through Hill Country.

Lovely tasting room - knowledgeable staff - DELICIOUS wives!!! My friend needed to pick up her wine club selection so we stopped in and did a tasting also. If I still lived in TX, I'd be a member.

We took the $15 tasting and thoroughly enjoyed all 6 wines. The gentleman who did our tasting was excellent and knowledgeable. We ended up buying 13 bottles! Can't wait to pop them open home in Boston

This vineyard and tasting rooms are fantastic!!! Found out about it about 2 years ago. Have not been disappointed yet! The vineyard is beautiful, very peaceful and relaxing. The wine is very good. We like the Cabernet Claret 2017 and the Syrah the best. Great for all ages! Very relaxing vibe. Nice staff.

My family (toddler included) were traveling through, and stopped here to enjoy a wine tasting. I ended up buying a case of wine, because the quality and experience were bar-none. I highly recommend this place, and her the cheese board! There were plenty of places for my son to run around and explore while I got to chat up one of the owners, too!

Cool place, wine awesome, staff very nice. We picked the hottest time of year but the ac wine tour was great. 4 stars would like to see more food options but the chart board with venison sausage was good.

The space was really pleasant and everyone was really nice however the majority of the wines in their tasting were so-so to a little unfortunate. They also never bothered to rinse out our glasses between wines during the tasting which is just bizarre to me and kind of lazy

Wonderful place in the middle of nowhere. They produce great wines here on the farm. The Tempranillo Estate is a perfect and complete product as a good example.

One of the best. We’ve been to many, many wineries all over the world and we have this one in our top few. Ron Yates and his winemaker do a superb job. They don’t try to do the crowd favorite cab sav (is it still?) and make the most out of this part of the world. Wonderful setting, great wines It doesn’t get much better.

This weekend was our first time here and it was even more beautiful than the photos. We needed a small weekend get away after a very stressful month and this was the perfect spot. From the drive in to the atmosphere the scenery was unbeatable. The employees took great care of us and explained each wine and what is would be paired with. It’s PET FRIENDLY which is amazing and the pets loved it as Much as the customers. Plenty of space for every different type of visit: Romantic get away, family/friend event or just to decompress. The waterfalls are very soothing and adds a perfect touch while enjoying a wine of your choice and their cheese boards are amazing!! Thank you so much for all your hospitality!!! 🍷 ❤️

The Muscat is fruity yet not too sweet. The Tandem has a smoky quality, Tempranio has a smooth, vanilla tented taste, and the Cab Claret has a slight sweet fruityness. Grounds are nice and service was good, giving us time to enjoy our tasting with no rush.

Wine is very good, but the people and setting really make this a special place.

The wine was great, the vineyard was beautiful and sitting on the patio with our dogs was such a great time. I would 100% recommend this winery. Paul was fantastic and took excellent care of us. Will be back!

Their wines are amazing! Especially their reds! You can't go wrong getting The Good Guy, Tandom, or any of their Tempranillos. Also beautiful wedding venue! We got married there 3 years ago and try to go back every year. Adore this place and their staff!

Wonderful tempranillo. The staff was very gracious and gave us some extra wine they were going to have to toss. It was a private experience with my dad and we enjoyed it.

The drive is scenic, the vineyard is quaint, and the wines are quite enjoyable! The hostesses (especially the lead hostess) are really what made this experience top notch, though! They not only went out of their to make our group feel at home- but we could see them taking great joy in making the other guests comfortable as well. I really admire the ambiance that a well organized team can bring. Thanks so much!

Great venue & great service, while the wines were all over the place. Some you couldn't pay me to drink but the were a couple of gems.

I cannot say enough great things about Spicewood Vineyards. Nestled in the most quaint setting, amazing people , sweet fur babies and the best part, the wine was divine.
