Out of this world fried catfish and potato salad. The Turtle Sauce Piquante was excellent. Similar to a braised beef stew, tangy and tomato forward. Would absolutely recommend.

Great plate lunches. Awesome deserts. The heavenly hash is amazing. Only place I can find Turtle Sauce-Picante. Only complaint is that it is kinda pricey so be prepared, but worth every penny.

Stopped for lunch, I had catfish poor boy wife had BLT sandwiches were good. Bought two items from freezer one Gumbo that' was tasteless with three chunks of chicken and 4 chunks of sausage. Broth tasted like a poorly seasoned soup. Worst Gumbo I have ever had. The other item was the Turtle Picante it was ok but not worth 12 dollars.

Oh my, an off the beaten path jewel. We found it only because we stopped because of a detour and asked for directions. We were taking backroads home to Texas along the Southern most road of Louisiana. We had never taken this route through Kaplan before to get there. Usually we would go through beautiful Abbeville. We had just eaten breakfast so we were not hungry. We did eat a crab pistolette that was absolutely delicious. I grew up in Louisiana so I definitely know Cajun food. We bought individual desserts that are homemade. Can’t wait to try them. We were shocked that they even had Mexican Coke. Talking to the owner, Joan, was priceless. We are looking forward to our next trip so that we can eat a full Cajun meal. A great ending to Mardi Gras or should I say a great beginning to Lent.

I frequent Suire's once a month on average, and the people are the sweetest and friendliest. Always up for a short conversation amongst their hectic work! Food is legendary, which goes without saying. And the snacks.. oh the snacks. Peanut butter balls, fig cake, cream cheese bars.. Oh man

Suire's has become a favorite of all who stop by, whether it be on their way to hunt, going to see family, or commuting to work. Everyone knows that if you want the best food in the best place with the best people —you go to Suire's.

We saw this place on an Anthony Bourdain episode and knew we had to try it. We drove 3hours from New Orleans just to try it and it was our favorite dining experience of our whole trip. The ladies working were really friendly and made us feel comfortable and right at home. We ate the crawfish ettoufette, oyster po’boy, and the best pecan pie we’d ever had. I wish I had 5 stomachs so I could’ve tried everything on the menu!!

Hamburger steaks were so overcooked hard. Not at all like they usually are. Fush was over fried as well. We all said they must have gotten a new cook. It was that bad.

A lot of treats they seem to be freshly baked food is not greasy or over seasoned. It was a great experience and a lot of history on the walls. Service was fast and great customer service.

Stopped by here while driving past. The shrimp po boy, shrimp gumbo and crab pistolette were great! My only complaint is the gumbo only had a few very small pieces of shrimp, but it still had great flavor. Highly recommend stopping here!

We often stop here for brunch or lunch after hunting. Everything is great. Meals, desserts, everything… On a really cold day, I’d recommend getting the chili, won’t be disappointed.

Suire's is the "real deal"!! Everything is wonderful. The Fig Cakes and Tarts are a favorite Christmas git we've been sending for years. If you are ever near Lafayette (Abbeville) it is definitely worth the time to enjoy Acadian cooking.

Delicious terrific real cajun cuisine food made with love great place

This is an old time grocery and restaurant type place on the outskirts of kaplan Louisiana. I believe they have been there since 1976. The people there were very friendly. Walking in here feels like stepping back in time. They have a vast array of options to eat. Their specialty is turtle sauce piquant. I tried this dish and it was very very good. It comes with a fried catfish fillet a roll and a piece of lemon cake. We also had the seafood platter and the daily special plate lunch which was spaghetti that day and we got a piece of pecan pie which they sell by the slice or by the entire pie. They also make excellent triple Decker BLT sandwiches. Everything was excellent. I plan to go back and get some of their items they have in the freezer section such as brisket and corn soup and shrimp stew among other things

Great authentic cajun place and food to match. Everything was great. Potato salad is awesome. Turtle sauce picante is outstanding! All of the desserts are homemade and so good. Located in the heart of cajun country you won't find a more real true cajun place anywhere. It's like stepping back in time when you walk in. A true experience.

We literally love EVERYTHING here. Our go-to dishes are the turtle sauce picquante (a rich tomato gravy) which is served with the best fried fish ever - this is the Friday plate lunch. We always grab several BLTs cause they taste even better after they sit for a bit. They're a cross between a club and a BLT and amazing! Don't sleep on the poboys...the fried alligator is the best one I've ever had. The alligator bites are marinated and super tender. Do yourself a favor and leave room for their fresh-made desserts at the counter. You can also grab prepared meals from the freezer case to enjoy later - the gumbo is our fave. Recommended highly by everyone, including Anthony Bourdain who was a major fan. Get a taste of authentic Cajun cooking here! And the second-generation owners are just amazing. They always get it right!

My family and I stopped in on our way home from our fishing trip just to get a bite to eat before the drive home.Not really expecting much since it was a little grocery also..Well low and behold were we surprised.Not only was their a total cajun menu but it was all Home Cooking !!!The aroma of fresh baked pecan pie was in the air (because their were over 15+that just came out of the oven!!And my sister has been looking for a roast beef poboy ever since they moved here from Colorado 8 months ago and couldn't find anyone to make it the way she wanted.This place sure did,she was in roast beef heaven...so tender and juicy .A true delight.As for me I got the catfish and it was so tender it was a very clean taste(some places have the black skin which is nasty to me..Not here.Pure clean fish.My brother in law got the Old fashioned hamburger.It was true to its name.Pure old fashion flavor by a cook who know how to do just that...COOK.We will definitely go back,not to fish but to stop in at Suire's to enjoy more items on the menu .We were all amazed and the quality and the prices !! .Unbelievable All of our hats go off to Suire's.What a diamond in the rough.Thank you for making it a wonderful experience for me and my family.

When you see a Cajun pepper shaker filled with Cayenne pepper you know you are at a true to the bone Cajun establishment. The Turtle Sauce Piquant came with a piece of Fried Catfish, Potato Salad, Chocolate Cake, and a bread roll. I had Abita Root Beer another Louisiana favorite made from Spring Water and Cane Sugar. The food, service, and hospitality were exceptional. I'll be back!

If you're ever in the area please check this out the most friendly people and she has the most amazing home cooked food and she also sells it frozen so you can take it home this is amazing I absolutely love it and after only one visit when we went back 2 days later she remembered everything about her very very caring people when we go back to Louisiana this will definitely be my first stop

Foodies, add this to your bucket list! This is as cajun as cajun gets. Everyone is super friendly and nice and loves a good conversion. My wife and I both agree that this was the best catfish we have ever had in our lives. We both ordered different versions of ettouffe. They both came as full meals and more. We also bought some items to go, like fig bread, fig tart, peach tart, and pecan pie... All homemade of course. We came here because it was one Anthony Bourdains last visits before he died. He was spot on!

Great place to stop and eat. Very casual, you walk in, order at the counter and then they bring it out to you. I had the fried shrimp, lightly batter, tasty seasoning and great tasting. Definitely filling. But the best item i loved was their pecan pie. Omg, a taste of heaven. If you are in the area and don't have time to eat, at least stop and pickup some dessert.

We stumbled upon this gem of an experience during a road trip. I will refrain from using all caps even though I want to yell about how awesome the home-cooked food is. I had the seafood platter and my wife had the gumbo. It was all amazing. They had hundreds of fresh made pecan pies on hand for Thanksgiving, too. Had a great conversation with the owner and she had so many kind things to say, and thanked us profusely for stopping by. Everyone was so nice.

Worth the 3 hour drive from New Orleans. Went for the Chicken fried steak special. The dirty rice, pork beans and potato salad were all amazing and I loved the chicken fried steak. We got some delicious slices of Pecan Pie and Cream cheese bars to go. The staff were so friendly too. Highly recommended and excellent value for money
