I received several of the teas as a gift. Literally the best tea I have ever had. I absolutely loved it. I really cannot wait to order some for my mother and myself.

Best place I've found in Anchorage for teas and spices

I’ve been here so many times over the past 4 years and I’m never disappointed. The customer service is always top notch and the store always smells delicious. Their selection is top tier quality, I don’t shop anywhere else for loose leaf teas, chocolate, or proper spices for cooking.

Absolutely love this shop. They have the BEST Earl Grey tea. Customer service is excellent, the only issue that I have ever had was solved immediately.

I love their bulk tea so much that after leaving Alaska in 2015, I have still been ordering it online and shipped to California for the past 8 years. You can't find bulk tea of this quality down here. Love love love it.

Summit is an amazing place! They have a huge wall of tea from all over the world, tea paraphernalia that you didn't even know existed, and a store full of spices of every kind. They even have a tea room where you can enjoy a cup or a pot of tea with a tasty pastry. Check it out! It's worth the trip.

This is the spot for tea lovers; regardless if you prefer Western or Eastern brewing. All sorts of accessories and brewing supplies. They also have an insane amount of herbal teas, yerba mate, and rooibos. They're spice selection is massive and extents to vinegars, hot sauces, honeys, salts, kitchen gadgets, truffles and a Chocolate Bar club with some of the most exquisite selections you can find in Alaska. Things can be bought pre packaged or by weight (teas and spices).

The layout of the storefront side is easy to navigate, I like the concept of buying the quantity of what you want so there's no waste. They have a variety of teas, spices, herbs, rubs and various blends. The prices are extremely reasonable and the staff is professional and friendly.

Love the tea selection here! Tons of flavors and I like how they do these smaller packs so I can try so many different ones. This cranberry one is one of my favorites that I get again and again.

Very interesting and neat place. Quite the selection of teas and spices. Chocolates and sweets abound in every corner. They had a nice little side Cafe too. A bit on the pricey side in my opinion but you do pay for better quality products.

This spacious store sells spices and loose-leaf tea. They have little jars of samples to smell before you buy. You can order your own quantities and bring your own jars to put spices and tea into. They have an extensive selection of chocolate and a fun collection of sauces and oils. You can also pop in to the tea lounge, try out a new tea or revisit you favorites.

Come chill here in the tea shop most weeks. Staff is great at recommending teas for any mood, and the atmosphere is super pleasant.

If you want extremely poor customer service this is the place for you. I recently stopped by to shop around and browsed for over ten minutes without once being asked if I needed help. The three employees working however, we’re enjoying there time loudly discussing which songs they should play on repeat within the store.

Great selection and friendly staff

Really nice shop, with a big corner full of fancy chocolate (lots are dairy free or vegan, and not just the standard dairy free brands), tons of spices and spice blends, bulk tea, pre-packaged loose leaf tea, and condiments like mustards, jams, oils, hot sauces, etc. There's also an attached tea cafe and a case of chocolate truffles.

If I had money growing out of pits, I would never shop anywhere else, didn’t expect a great experience Got One!

I accidentally tipped $100 bill, and they refused to give it back. After contacting the Police they deported me back to Uganda. Where I have lived a peaceful but meaningless life. I rate this tea (Nirvana Chai) a solid 20/20 chickens. Great stuff! ❤️

Perfect store for tea, spices, and chocolates. The tea selection is very large, as well as the spice collection. They have a chocolate section and sauces section. Reasonably priced spices and tea. You can buy in bulk or pre-packaged. This is your one stop shop for all things tea or spices!

I love Summit! Their Earl Grey de la Creme is delicious and they have a fantastic array of spices.

This little shop has delightful spice blends. They sell them in larger quantities for the home, but they also sell them in smaller packets. The small packets are perfect for trying new blends or for slipping into letters/cards as a small gift.

This review is for the website and ordering process. I found the website easy to use and order from with accurate pictures and descriptions of all items. Checkout was secure, easy, and included an option for a gift message. When my item reached the recipient it was undamaged, nicely packaged, and included a card with my message. I would absolutely order online again!

If you need spices, this is the place. We buy when in town or use their website from home. Matanuska is our house spice. Wide selection of tea, sauces and items for your kitchen.

We visited this place on our last day visiting Alaska and left with good memories. The tea shop is a good place to take a rest and chat with your friends while drinking nice tea, and the tea and spice store has a great variety of spice and chocolate. I got some fruit tea from here and the ice tea I made from it at home was great. I really wish we have a similar place nearby.

Best tea place! I found my favorite - Qimen Mao Feng from Huangshan. Authentic, clean and friendly! Strongly recommend.

I come here whenever I need just a pinch of something for a recipe and don't want to buy a whole bottle. They also have a wide assortment of condiments such as mustards, marinades, ice cream toppings, hot sauces, as well as chocolates. They also have loose teas as well as a separate tea room.

Legit as a mug. Got Tokoname pots. British pots. 221 dolla balsamic vinegar, dark mothafudgin chocolate out the yin yang and a wazoo full of their own teas and spices. What's not to love about this artisan shop.

WIDE selection of teas, spices, and other super interesting items! High-end chocolates, popcorn salt, and unique sauces are the fun finds as you browse. The employees are all well versed in the teas. I've gotten some good recommendations from several of them. It's always awesome to go there and pick up not common items. Photo shows the haul I brought out of the store today, plus, I want to highlight Toast Sprinkle. We've all made cinnamon toast at home with cinnamon and sugar on buttered toast.... This sprinkle adds maple sugar, brown sugar, and cardamom to the Korintje (no idea what that means, but it's probably fancy) cinnamon.

It's an easy place to end up becoming a regular. I appreciate the discounts when you buy 8+ ounces of tea, and their selection of both tea and spices is very good. The milk oolong is pretty special, but don't buy too much; I want to still be able to get my fix, if you know what I mean. The chocolate bar stamp card is a nice touch for the chocoholics like me, and they have a good assortment of other tasty treats, and a friendly and competent staff as well.

I love the tea shop! I come all the way from Fairbanks, I wish we have something like this! It became my must go place in Anchorage everytime I visit!

I went here, to begin with, for a specific kind of salt to use in a recipe (I wanted to do it "by the book" for once. Not only did they have the salt I needed (Red Hawiian) but I didnt2 have to buy a big container. They have "a pinch" bags (so you can get just a little bit), and I was hooked. They have so many products you would think it would be overwhelming. The store is so smartly laid out and the staff is on top of their stock so it's super easy to browse through a lot of products quickly. Everything is orginized in a "common sense" sort of way. My salt was surrounded by other salts and nothing else. I literally said "Wow" out loud when I easily and quickly found my item. The staff is amazing too! Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and very informative and they do this with the skill of a practised surgeon. They are there when you need them and not there when you don't. They make amazing beverages and suggestions. They will steer you away from a product if it isn't something you have said you want (no pushers here) and are amazingly honest. If you're in Anchorage, or just passing through, you cannot miss a visit to Summit Spice and Tea (even if just for the smells). Locally owned and managed by an amazing person who genuinely cares about people and having a quality product. I really could go on amd on about this place, but I'm sure you get the idea.

Come here for fresh made tea hot or on ice & is always so delicious along with the Staff who serve you they are always so friendly & kind & ask exactly how you want your tea made! Should be called Sweet Summit... Love this place!

First time shopping here and their prices are on the high end; but, they were the only place in Anchorage that had the special spices that we were looking for while test cooking during the peak of being locked down. For us it was better to buy their spices by the ounce than to buy their prepackaged spices. With more places open back up, we will shop around before buying spices by the bulk

The staff are both knowledgeable and helpful and they appreciate that customers love to browse through this store at a leisurely pace. They have samples hidden throughout the displays, so keep an eye open. There are always bottles available to open and sample the aromas as well. A great location to purchase gifts, Alaskan souvenirs or personal indulgences, Summit Spice and Tea is sure to have something for every shopper. They also have very attractive packaging and wrapping available. Don’t forget to leave time to enjoy a cup of tea in their cafe. I’m always up for a good London Fog, with both lavender and vanilla...and they have teas to suit all tastes.

This is a 2-part company. On one side you step into the doors and the beautiful aroma envelopes you. As you walk around and see everything they have to offer, they have stations where you can taste their products. Then, on the other side, you can order a cup of tea from a literal wall of teas. Not sure of what to order? They will help you figure out what to order based off of your likes and dislikes. Once you've placed your order you can take your steep-timed-cup of tea to a cozy corner and enjoy. You can also order bags of loose leaf tea to-go.

Lots of locally produced items (jams, biscuits, chocolate, candies, and even ice cream) are available here, and for those that are looking to expand their culinary horizons by adding a few more spices, check them out; they have plenty of variety. And because it is included in their name, rest assured that there is quite an extensive tea selection waiting for you as well.

Fantastic quality products, never gotten something from their store (and there's a wide variety,) that I didn't love. Not to mention the amazing customer service! Every employee either had tried the product I was inquiring about, or knew someone else who had. Yes it's a little on the pricey side but well worth it.

Honestly I wish every place in the world had its own Summit spice and tea. They have a fantastic selection of products and impeccable customer service.
