This restaurant always offered a side salad for $1.99 when ordering an entree. I ordered the restaurant special which was a red snapper dish with lump crabmeat for $34 and requested the $1.99 side salad. I was told that they couldn’t offer it for that price since my meal already comes with a side salad and that the computer would not allow them to do it. If I still wanted the addition side salad it would cost me $4. Go figure… Can’t understand that one for the life of me. Probably our last visit to Dupuy’s.

Went on a Tuesday night, been a while since we have been but were in town and thought it would be a good meal. We started with side salads...not bad but lettuce had many brown spots but edible. I'm not a fried food person so I got the pan broiled fish. Was good but had so much garlic on it that the taste of fish was just ok. Also, did not like that is had to come with fries or it was an upcharge. Dessert was ok...didnt get the bread pudding which is the only thing they make there. I know this place has been almost 160 years....but I do not know how it has lasted...just ok

Dupuy's has been a staple in Abbeville for generations. The atmosphere is a bit loud but family friendly. They have great food. However, it is somewhat on the expensive side. Their servers are always friendly and do their best to stay on top of things. I do suggest trying their specials. You can get a great bang for your buck!

Had the Crawfish etouffee baked potato from the summer menu for lunch last week. Everything on the menu is good. OMG, so good. Very fast, excellent food and service.

My go to, must stop at, whenever I'm home to visit. Fried seafood combo is my item of choice. The stuffed crab is always amazing. Catfish so tender it falls apart when trying to pick it up. And of course I need my hush puppies.

Awesome little place with great food and drinks!

Very disappointed. We ate there a year ago and had a great meal. This was just the opposite. The lump crab meat was something I've never seen before but definitely wasn't crab meat. The crab cakes were not the same as last year. They had the same mystery crab meat and were doughy. The server seemed to not care when I asked her about it. We spent a lot of money and were not happy.

Mackenzie H was a great server. Wonderful service and great food. Spicy green beans, crab cakes, seafood gumbo, pan broiled shrimp and oysters on the half shell were on the menu for us and very good!

I was greeted with a smile as soon as I walked in and seated. I ordered the angel hair pasta topped with a creamy crawfish sauce and a jumbo lump Crab crake! It was so delicious and the seafood was fresh as well. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re visiting in the Abbeville, Louisiana area.

Great drinks, good service, and great food!!

We had a party of 10 and drove nearly an hour. We gave the couple who recommended Dupuy’s a hard time… until we got our apps. I had the Basa Roulade and my wife had a steak. The steak was the perfect temperature. The food was flavorful but not spicy so you couldn’t taste the sweetness of the crab. My Basa Roulade had lump crabmeat. I didn’t have to search for the crabmeat. Save room for dessert, if you can. Emma our waitress was on point! She kept everyone’s order inline and no orders was missing or mixed up. No one had to ask for anything. Now the kitchen, all entrees came out together and warm. Highly recommend!

Service sucked and food gave me food poisoning threw up all night I won't never go back

Delicious food! It was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. The food was incredible. We ordered a variety of things and it was all super good. I recommend everything on this menu. The atmosphere is great and everyone was so friendly.

A great place for good food and ice cold beverages. We had the Bayou Tuna and Seafood Pasta Alfredo. The portions are crazy awesome. Both were overthetop delicious. The Seafood Alfredo was loaded with shrimp, crawfish and crabmeat. The Bayou Tuna was cooked perfectly and the portion was well worth the reasonable $$. Macenzie was super friendly and very attentive. Definitely a great dining experience. We love Abbeville!

Delicious oysters, great drinks and wonderful service.

Quite a few great places to eat in Abbeville but this is in my opinion the best. But when you advertise that you are open from 11am to 9pm and I drive from Church Point and the doors are locked a 3pm on a Wednesday well I have to take my business to Shuck's.

Fantastic, fresh seafood. Try the crab cakes and the Basa Roulade. Best meal I've had in a long time while traveling.

I ate my half oyster Poboy so fast I forgot to take a picture! It was just perfect! Bread French but not too big, oysters perfectly fried, service was exceptional and fast. Atmosphere is clean, fun and festive. Bar/dining in one area and dining only separate area. This is my fav poboy place hands down 40 years.

I've been told for a long time how good this place is. We finally got a chance to eat here, and what a great place it is. The people, the food, the place is such a great experience. You have to go here. We are definitely coming back.

I got crab cake Dupuys, didn't like the crust on the crab cake, lumps of crab. Husband got fried shrimp, didn't like the crust on the shrimp.

Outstanding seafood. We started with the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes and the Oyster Sampler. My wife added a cup of Seafood Gumbo. The oysters Rockefeller and DeVille were wonderful. Should have stopped there, but the wife wanted to try the fried oysters. They were fried to perfection and were very good. We will definitely be returning. Make sure to go early so as to not have a lengthy wait.

The service was so fast and sweet the food brings me back to when my grandmother cooked it was awesome

Husband and I staying at Palmetto State Park and this restaurant was recommended, I can see why. Both hostesses we friendly and sweet. 35 minute wait so we sat (and ate) at the bar. All 3 gentlemen bartenders were helpful, accommodating, and friendly. We had the stuffed shrimp which was amazing. Definitely must go there.

The shrimp poboys are the best that I have ever had. You can't beat it.

It is well worth the 35 minute drive to get there. It's small but the food is wonderful and the best in the state. We have been eating here for years and prefer it over any other seafood restaurant in Abbeville or Lafayette. We drive from Scott and our out of town/state guests always want to go here to eat when they come to visit. It's a real treat to eat here. We even converted a few people that would go to B.R. to eat. Now they like Dupuy's better and the drive is shorter and better.

The crab dinner was outstanding with generous portions of crab!

The food and service was fantastic! I had a cup of seafood gumbo and a dish called Basa Roulade and my husband ordered the oyster sampler, the crawfish combo, which was crawfish ettoufee and fried crawfish tails. Everything was 5 star excellent! You will not be disappointed!

Hometown favorite! Every dish here is delicious. The food, service, and atmosphere are always perfect. Live music is a bonus. Fried green beans and chicken cracklins are a must!

Had birthday lunch for my daughter and granddaughter! Dupuy’s never disappoints! It was fantastic again. We had seafood salads and child’s shrimp. The salad was great tasting with the house made ranch dressing. The fried shrimp in the child’s plate were very tasty! Service was excellent! Waitress was perfect. When in Abbeville, this is the very best place to eat!

We always enjoy Dupres when come to town. Stopped by yesterday and found the food to be way to salty almost inedible.

Everything was soo good! Especially the baked fish! It was a Loud atmosphere like the customers in one section were just yelling at one another at their table. Not a big deal just super loud but all in all we enjoyed the food and the service was amazing! Our waitress was the best! She was getting it!

Got a crabcake to go and compared it with 2 other restaurants.... well, hands-down, the best lump crabcake I've ever eaten. The sauce had crawfish, the breading was on the outside and fried to perfection, and, oh, the lump white crabmeat looked like it was just taken out of the crab and put in the cake!

This place was so good I'm not even sure words could do it justice the beat gator and shrimp and orestes this boy has ever had the steak was seasoned perfectly and the veggies was to die for if I'm ever around here again 150% stopping here again

Best Seafood and Steaks in Louisiana

We had excellent Cajun food and very good service. I thought it was a little unusual to have a 3% surcharge for credit card use, but since there was a sign on the door notifying us of the surcharge, we were not surprised when they brought us the bill.

The food was just okay. Nothing to rave about, but the staff was very nice, friendly, and quick. Never had to wait for a refill.

The food never disappoints. We had the best waitress ever.

Super cute town. Restaurant atmosphere is nice. Live music. Service was incredibly slow. Crab cake was very fishy and crab chowder was just ok.

The staff was great when I asked if they could put a table or two together for 15 people late in the evening. The food was wonderful, especially the oysters.

My overall on everything an everyone is always the best of all restaurants I've been to . I already recommended to everyone I know to eat are have a beverage or 2 maybe even 3 if they'd like. Waitresses are very nice food is always awesome my favorite appetizer is the crab patty and the fettuccine Alfredo no matter what you put in it is awesome the sauces just upstanding . Went to the restroom nice clean. Restaurant has a nice an clean environment . We will always be back for more . Thanks for a well needed meal .

Great raw oysters, fresh, salty, cold and clean. Service was quick and all other dishes were excellent. I would recommend to anyone looking for true delicious cajun dishes.

Best steak and service I have had in a while

Dupuy's is my favorite restaurant in Texas and Louisiana. I live in Houston and visit my husband's hometown of Abbeville very often. Our first stop every time we arrive is Dupuy's. The food is always excellent, the staff and management are friendly AND always visit our table to check on us. I don't eat at any seafood restaurants in Houston because nothing compares to Dupuys...love the fried fish/shrimp combo and of course the hushpuppies. Only a five star review for Dupuys. It's a must whether you live in Abbeville, Lafayette, or are just passing through. Thanks for making every visit back home extra special, Dupuys!

Crab cake dupuy pasta is the best pasta I've ever had

The food was absolutely astounding. I had fried shrimp and fried fish. And ended it with an amazing bread pudding. A little on the pricey side but well worth it.

Stuffed shrimp too salty. Shrimp platter was medium sized shrimp. Portions were smaller than previous visits.

The parking lot is too small. The manager during lunch hour could help enlighten the atmosphere and greet the customers as they come in. When ladies are out at lunch, it would be nice to invite them into the dining area instead along side of a brick wall, where we were placed. The Crab Cake Dupuy has green peas in it, bit of a turnoff, awkward. The seafood fettuccine Alfredo was pretty good. This place has potential to be even better.

Delicious local fare with incredible local service!

We first tried Dupuy's about 10 years ago and haven't had the opportunity to make it back since. Today was awesome! Food was even better than we remembered and the service was top notch.

Everything and everybody was awesome. From the hostess at the door to the busboy. We were treated so welcomely and warmly. Our waitress so so quick and knowledgeable on the items available.

We asked for fried seafood combo. We got what they wanted us to believe was grilled. Stuffed crab was all stuffing and hints of crab,stuffed shrimp was covered in the same nasty stuff they put in the crab shell, 3 tiny shrimp,and the oysters, well that's the brown flat things in the plate.The fish had no flavor at all. My sweet potato was burnt on the outside but cold on the inside. My husband did like his fries. The dinning room closes at 2p.m so they had us sitting in the bar. The waitress really could careless that we were there. Worse birthday lunch/dinner I've had in a long time. Will not go back there. Everyone said it was a great place to eat. They must have all been drunk....I don't drink.

1st time eating here. We had the 12 oz ribeye. Steak was cooked as requested, serves were kind and the locals love this place. Our meal was great.

Dupuy's is what I call a off the beaten path gem. Not near anything you intended to go to but you end up here because it's worth the drive. Density, the bar tender is so nice and recommended the steak and wonderful crab claws. 🦀. If you have the chance to make it here, go!

We just came from Lafayette to try some different seafood. It was nothing short of terrible. No raw oysters available. Everything we ate was soaked in old grease and no flavor. The crawfish nachos were a joke. It was a pile of greasy cheese with a few crawfish in it. Last time I ate here was 1988. It was phenomenal then, and now this? The stuffed potato was so dry and gross, it was like old shoe leather. We told manager nicely that the food was not up to par and she laughed and told us everyone was so pleased with their food. If you to like to eat delicious seafood, don’t come here.

We recently went in with our party of 13 - which included 7 kids under the age of 13 - I know a server's worst nightmare. Not only did they find a way to seat us quickly on a busy Friday night, but they were so gracious knowing we had all the kids. At the end of the night, most of the staff came up to tell us how amazing our kids were and how grateful they were for US for being such excellent and polite patrons. Also - this is our FAVORITE place to eat when we are in town. I crave their Crab Platter for months before we arrive!

A family favorite, the oysters are always a winner, but all the seafood is great. Eggplant Abbeville - that is something special! Basa Roulade: the amount of lump crab the fish is covered with is enough to make a meal. On Tuesday, the house wines are $3 for a very ample pour. Service is friendly and fast. There are many reasons the place has been around 150 years.

Do not recommend. Steak cook cannot cook to order. Service slow.
