The food was very delicious, we ordered the governor tacos and fried shrimp, well served and the staff was very attentive, they gave away chips and salsa and with that you have a good start to the meal! Highly recommended

Costa Alegra is the actual name. Food is excellent quality. The menu has many items you will not see at most Mexican restaurants. Don't sleep on this place.

2024 edit: unfortunately this place has gone way downhill. We haven't been in a while but apparently they completely rebranded and closed their Oglethorpe Ave location. They removed most of the sandwiches from the menu which were really the highlight--no more Uruguayan sausage 😢. Menu overhauled to your typical overpriced Americanized Cantina with a heavy emphasis on seafood. Everything was bland and the fish in the burrito was not cooked all the way through. We sat under a light that was flickering the whole time. Really disappointing as this used to be a favorite spot especially when we lived in Watkinsville. With the abundance of Latin American cuisine available in Athens, we will not be back here.

Costa Allegra Seafood and Grill is the new name. We have been 4 or 5 times trying different dishes. So far, have been very satisfied. They bring a red salsa and a green guacamole salsa to the table, very delicious, they have a green hot sauce upon request. Best Oyster Rockefeller around!!! Margaritas are also top notch

This review is Costa Alegre, the new place. Great food! Great service! We had the Chicken Fajitas, excellent taste! Lets hope Los Primos doesn't find out my wife and I cheated on them. Lol

It's called Costa alegre now, but the food is great, seafood is awesome and they still got really good Mexican food. You should definitely go visit!

It's under new management, but the food holds up. We ride our bikes for lunch here and it's really enjoyable.

Food was good, the rice was a little hard but if cooked good it would’ve been perfect. Still a good spot to eat with a good variety of choices. Steak is also really good.

Best chips and salsa around. They have both a red and green salsa. Veggie quesadilla delicious.

The fish burrito is INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS. Sweet plantains, rice, and crispy fish is such a good combination, it was surprising and so well done.

Great lunch portions and flavor is always there. Fajitas were a great choice but the tacos are my go-to. Haven’t been disappointed by anything! Top authentic Mexican in Athens for sure.

Offers traditional Latin dining and and an amazing selection of baked goods. The food is amazing and the service is stellar. If you like empanadas or milanesa style sandwiches you will be delighted. Don't forget the pastries. The alfajores are my all time favorites, but each of the pastries I have tried have been delicious. Grab a couple to go.

Holy cow what an awesome culinary experience. We highly recommend the empanadas, but honestly everything was wonderful. Even my picky two year old ate a little bit of everything. Some of the best food and service I have had since the pandemic which we know is a rare find!

We just visited Sabor Latino for the first time since they opened! The best we have had! The waitress was so sweet and the owner came over and talked with us! The menu is great! So many things we want to go back and try! Rainy day today but we can’t wait to eat on the rooftop! Nice having a great restaurant on our side of town!

I’m not a Latin cuisine specialist, but other reviewers call this authentic. For sure, it’s not your standard Latin cuisine. Not particularly spicy, but fresh approach to standard Mexican favorites. Food has a simple presentation. My burrito was made with barbacoa (slow cooked barbecue meat) was super tasty. My wife’s chicken quesadilla was fresh and equally delicious. Save room for the wide variety of deserts. Service is friendly and atmosphere is typical strip storefront. Ice tea, and I assume soft drinks, seemed high at $2.50 each. Maybe next time one of their many flavors of Margaritas might be a better choice.
