I have always loved this place! Usually a hands down best experience. I am hoping today was just off. The young lady at the counter was not friendly. I explained the last few times we have been her the chips have been burnt. I was going to get guacamole but changed my mind when she told me she did not know if the chips were burnt and would not check. Just seemed a little off. I was charged an extra $1.50 for limes. I received the same amount as I normally would when ordering 10 items. Oh well! It not about the money. Just not the same as we are used too.

Been twice, prices are fair for the quality. Authentic, hot, fresh, consistent. I will be going back whenever I need that fill of authentic Mexican food when I’m passing by

Waited for an hour and still no food. I asked the lady at the counter if it would be ready soon because I had to go back to work, and she comes back 5 minutes later to tell me it "should be out soon". Left without food and without a refund since nobody was at the counter. Go somewhere else.

Freshness, great flavor, and generous portions. This place is worth going out of your way for. Love the extra crispy tortillas and minimal, mostly plastic-free packaging! Buen trabajo!

I wanna start by saying I'm kind of a carne asada taco afficionado. I've been to probably hundreds of Mexican places (the legit ones, not the flour tortilla places) and always get the exact same thing - carne asada tacos - corn, onion, cilantro, steak. Walking in, the store is very nice and charming. Lady working was nice and helpful. Lack of tables was a surprise but makes sense given the to go sign. But even gas stations have a couple. Would have been nice as a lot of people will go here while on break from work or traveling. Related to this, the packaging was mildly disappointing. No napkins or foam container to eat out of which makes eating in a car or sitting on a curb really awkward. Gave me two containers of the green sauce instead of like a pico. The green sauce is okay. Really has a lot of vinegar taste. The chips are interesting. They're much thicker and crunchier than most places. Not my personal preference but also unique and kind of cool. So the tacos. First the corn tortillas are not very fried (if they are at all). This makes for a fresher and lighter taco, but lacks some of the flavor and taste of the ones that have more oil and makes it more of a dryer mouth full of corn. Inside the taco, probably could have used more cilantro and onion. Especially with so much corn. Really all you taste is corn and meat. The meat is fine. No ugly chewy bits but would have been nice to have it cut a little larger as it's just a step above ground beef. I'm being really nitpicky because these are like my favorite food and I've tried hundreds of different. Overall, they taste good, but not amazing. Still worth going if you're in the area.

Best lengua tacos in Dawsonville! If you haven’t been here you should give it a try. Take out only so plan accordingly

I usually love this place but just recently ordered their refried beans for the first time and I was so disappointed because they were literally like soup. I called and asked if I could come back and they could remake them and they said that they’re beans are just more watery like that… that’s just gross

They have great veggie burritos. Take out only We were passing through town and even the teens enjoyed the food, even if we had to eat in the car!

The one time we tried this the AC was out, it took over 30 minutes to get our food and when we got home to eat it, we couldn't. It was HORRIBLE. We literally threw it out. We never do that. I called them and they said they would credit us but NEVER did. Will never go back.

Amazing! The ladies are so friendly and their food is delicious. My wife said their Quesadillas is the best she has ever had! Try their Gorditas also! Thank you!

My wife came home from work on Tuesday and said they had ordered their lunch from an AMAZING Mexican Restaurant. She insisted we go and try it out on Wednesday since she was off work and it would be good for lunch. I was skeptical, but we drove to Industrial Dr and Lumpkin Campground Rd intersection at 12:55 PM and found Takoz. It is well hidden, beside Gilstrap and facing Industrial Dr on the side of the building in an industrial area. As often as I have passed this building, I have never known it was there. I would not have found this hidden gem if I had not been looking. Being an industrial park, parking was limited, but we found a space and walked inside. It immediately reminded me of many of the small mom-and-pop restaurants I visited as a child living in Miami, Florida. If you are looking for elegance and a seating area, this is not for you, but if you are looking for hole-in-the-wall authentic Mexican food prepared fresh to order, then you will LOVE Takoz Express. The lady working the front counter was super friendly and helpful and took our order shortly after we arrived. I ordered one each of the Steak, Chorizo, Grilled Chicken, and Pork soft Tacos. My wife ordered two Steak Tacos, a side order of homemade warm chips, and a large Guacamole that was freshly made at the restaurant. Our eyes were larger than our stomachs. I ate two of my Tacos and a few chips and was full. I had to save the other two for my lunch today. The Tacos are authentic street Tacos with a generous serving of meat topped with onion and cilantro in your choice of a warm flour tortilla or two corn tortillas. All the meats I tried were seasoned and cooked to perfection with generous portions. The Guacamole was amazing, the only problem is once you taste it, you have a hard time stopping. On top of an absolutely incredible meal, I also received a 5% off coupon for our meals after checking in on the Yelp app. If you are looking for a filling, authentic meal at a very reasonable price, topped off with great customer service, this is where you want to come. I was amazed to find genuine, authentic Mexican cuisine in Dawsonville. This is our new favorite place for a snack or a meal. We will see you on Yelp and see you at Takoz Express.

Had the burrito(campechano), and it was tasty and big.. Real authentic Mexican place. Friendly staff and Great prices. The guacamole/chips was so good. FRESHH!!. Need to try it out. Definitely coming back for more.

This place is legit. Do yourself a favor and check it out. Great people and the food is outstanding. Tacos (barbacoa & lengua) are ridiculous and the chicken tamal is one of single best things I’ve ever eaten. Seriously.

Best Takoz and burritos in Dawsonville. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere! Highly recomend the the Steak burrito and grilled chicken tacos. Well worth the price.

No fuss to go spot for legit Mexican food. The Gorditas were absolutely delicious. I got steak. The Gordita’s are actually homemade! They were hot and crispy and perfect. Go here and order the Gorditas. They are amazing.

The tacos were good. They were decent sized and flavorful. I have had better tacos before but not anywhere near this area. I would eat here again. I got a asada, pastor, carnitas, and chorizo taco. The asada and pastor were very good. Carnitas were a little dry and the chorizo didn’t have as much flavor as I was expecting. The salsas were very good they complemented the tacos well. The rice was pretty good but nothing special. This restaurant is only to go.

Best food in Dawsonville hands down. I love that this place is independent and not a chain. Most options in Dawsonville are chains and are average. The food at Takoz express is absolutely amazing and anytime I have family or friends in town we eat here!

Great selection of meat. Green and red Salsas are very good. I usually get barbacoa (slow cooked brisket) but everything I've tried has been at least up to par.

Prices online are not correct. Tacos online are $2.50 each, but when you order, you get charged $3.25 each. Also, I noticed the quality of your order varies weekly. Maybe it's the staff they have on shift that day, but I did my own test over the past 2 weeks and ordered 4 times. Each time was different. This last time, I ordered Egg and Chorizo sandwich, and it was half the size of the previous orders, yet I paid the same.

Came from Colorado where Mexican food is legit. I needed some good street tacos. THIS PLACE DOESNT DISAPPOINT

Amazing!! We eat here at least 3-4 times a month! The tacos and gorditas are amazing! Their cheese dip is authentic and delicious!! The burrito is the LARGEST burrito you’ve ever eaten!! Can’t wait to try more items here!!

If you love authentic Mexican burritos tacos ect. Then you gonna love this place, great food, and friendly staff. This is giving your taste buds a treat.

The food here is delicious and a great price. Try a burrito, very filling and tastes great. They have about 10 different meats you can order. The people working here are extremely friendly. The restaurant is take-out only, but the the food is so good I would gladly eat it in my car.

Came for a Gordita and Quesaberria. Honestly I would give everything 10 but the meat wasn't seasoned. However, the authenticity of the sauce and the food saved it. Give them a 8/10. I would return!

The food is authentic as it gets in Georgia (where nearly all Mexican places suck) and made quickly. Right around $10 for the average meal. Love the green chicken tamales. Eaten there several times in the past year and never had a problem. I recommend it to everyone I know that likes Mexican food.

Amazing place for a quick, delicious, and cheap taco. A very wide array of meats, traditional Mexican flavors. Lots of options to choose from for drinks and Mexican desserts. Will be coming here often!!

Absolutely incredible! The best tacos in North Georgia! (I’ve tried them all) First time trying this establishment today, and the food was excellent. The service was great and fast! I will definitely be back to try the various menu items. Awesome food!

I finally checked this place out and it was incredible. Best mexican tacos I ever had. Got pastor, chorizo and carnitas. They use double corn tortillas and were generous with a good balance of the meat and cilantro and well put together where they dont fall out. Also got a beef buritto. It was big and delicious. Next time i would ask for no cheese. Their red and green sauce was a little runny, but taste great with a spicy kick. The horchata however was not the best. Tasted like water and sugar. The service was good and they do a good job with helping me order. The price was good. I paid 27 bucks for all that. I will definately go back and so happy to have this place around. Much better than the big restaurants. I would like to see the menu expand to plates such as fajitas etc.

The real deal! The Tacos de CABEZA & Tacos de Lengua were phenomenal! Nicole said the tamales were the best she's had!! Barbacoa Tacos were stuffed with flavorful soft meat! Fresh Corn tortillas hold together even when wrapping up the taco Tight! Tamales were moist and thick as usual. We love both the roja & Verde tamales. No seating inside or outside, but eating outside on the curb is usually how best authentic Hispanic food is consumed! We drive out of our way to visit, anytime we go to NEGA. Definitely worth the stop!

Nice little mom & pop authentic taco shop offering only takeout. Their tacos start at $2 for steak & chicken and $2.50 for lingua and other specialty tacos. They even have the pure cane sugar cokes! My son (7) says they are the best steak tacos he has ever had.
