Best Mediterranean restaurant in Chicago! Upon arrival I received kind and welcoming hospitality. The food was AMAZING!!! I ordered the combo plate and it was delicious! The combination of kebabs, with fresh falafels, and savory hummus is the best! I highly recommend this place to everyone!!!

I got the gyro sandwich. It had 3 burnt dry slices of meat on it. They did manage to get sauce on the side, so big ups for that. Will not be ordering from here again

Food was great but I kinda got a weird look and vibes coming in to pick my food up and cashier was somewhat rude.

Anyone else get food poisoning from the chicken shawarma plate? Had it for dinner on 04/05 and have been puking ever since.

I ordered through UBER and I instructed to have condiments and toppings on the side. Instead we had dry gyros with 2 spicy sauces. They admitted their mistake and offered extra what ever if I made another order..... I was already $30 in.

I never write reviews, but I have to write for this place. Very very very dry chicken with dry rice, asked to put one extra sauce they said you will get enough sauce and I got very small container of garlic to put on this dry food. Hummus is very salty and sour, no utensils or anything to eat with. Everything is really bad, definitely will never order from here again.

Sinfully bland, everything seems to have been microwaved.

Ordered a chicken kabab plate and a gyro for my wife. Nothing had flavor. The only saving grace was the "tzatziki" if you will even call it that. The hot sauce is pretty good. My wife said the gyro had no flavor either, which seems impossible but after trying the chicken I am not surprised. Didn't expect much and was still let down.

Came here randomly one night wanting to try something different and was not disappointed. I’ve been back three or four times in the past month or so. The food is amazing and the portions are huge. I was circling back to get to the close by sandwich parlor when the Turkish word, and commonly used in the Middle East, “Tarboush”caught my eye. Let’s say I wasn’t disappointed, at all. An Amercanized take on well known Middle Eastern stables, like Shawarma, falafel, tabouleh, hummus, etc. I tried the lentils soup, and beef Shawarma. Their take on Shawarma is very authentic to the taste with a more of Mexican portions - burrito size wrap, and beef/ steak cut similar in texture to Steak Fajitas. Lentil soup was very authentic and yummy! I’ll be back for sure, inshallah! The location, name, and even quality of food have changed drastically. I rescind my initial review.

Amazing!!! I smoked some of the devils lettuce. I put on some HULU trying to binge on some of the new Futurama episodes. After a while I got a bit hungry ordered some Chicken Sharwma. People let me tell you my friends, they hooked me up! I mean they either knew I had cyclops red eyes or I smelled like Holy Rosemary. they were cool and sent me home with a meal I'll never forget. 10 out 10 would Recommend 😍

Really delicious casual spot! The chicken shawarma wrap was super flavorful and filling. The falafel was fresh and crisp, with a slight lemony flavor that was super tasty. And don’t sleep on the garlic sauce—it’s amazing! Overall, friendly and fast service. I’ll be back regularly

Probably the best take out/ delivery Mediterranean place. Chicken kebabs are always juicy, and kefta has a wonderful taste. Also grillled veggies and the side salad are always on par.

SO GOOD! One of our go-to take out places. We usually get the gyro plate, shrimp kabob plate, falafel, hummus and baba ghanouj and it’s enough food for our family of four.

Update, this place sold and moved but keeps the website and another restaurant fills orders. Super weird bait & switch. Might be fine, just need to give more info about what is happening.

I will forever order from here! The falafel platter is my favorite thing with feta hummus and red hummus 😭🙌🏽 SOOOOO GOOOD! The falafel is not tooo dry it’s just right; basmati rice always hits too!

It was fair , I tried the beef Shawarma sandwich and the chicken plate. Both tasted good ( the spices and meet marinating was light) so the flavor can accommodate most tastes . The Lentil soup is very good and balanced. I still need to try the other dishes and might update the rating accordingly :)

In town for a few days and I’m sorry to have wasted one of my meals here. Food was delivered in a timely manner (2 stars) but the quality was horrible. Not spiced well, wilted lettuce, overcooked kebabs, no spoon included with my soup. Just overall disappointed and would not recommend.

Google said this would be a great match, so we tried. And goes what! It was a perfect match! Loved the falafel burritos, their hummus and egg c been the great selection of soft-drinks. We will be back!

Wowza! Warm fresh bread to adjoin my babaganoush! Look at this price of art 🖼 that they call the Mediterranean salad 🥗. Lovely chopped pieces of feta on ALL of the salad w a gorgeous array of green and red peppers. Taste the rainbow 🌈

Their falafels are amazing, order the garlic sauce. It will change your life. By far the BEST lentil soup I’ve ever had. I always ask for extra lemon. It blows my mind how good it it.

The worst Mediterranean I've had in Chicago. The falafel was flavorless. The hummus was disgusting. It tasted so strange. The pita was old and flavorless as well. I couldn't eat any of it. Basically, waisted money.

Whenever we want Mediterranean food, we drive to Tarboush from our home in Indiana for their delicious food!

Had a gyro but would recommend more sauce on it next time. Very solid spot and you can tell they make everything extremely fresh. Excellent price too and love that you can buy the falafel by the piece!!!

Food was excellent and the staff didn't mind that I hung out eating by myself for a long time. Clean dining area and restroom.

I have gone here on a number of occasions, I have gotten Meat Assortment Plate and this last time I decided on the Shrimp Kabob, in all cases the main part of the plate was pretty tasty, the "house salad" in all plates was rather sad though not necessarily bad, and in all instances "grilled pita" was more of a cracker consistency than bread or toast, not bad though just a little different than I would have expected. In general the experience for the food was alright, don't expect too much from salads though.

I think all I'm going to do is review places to get shawerma in Chicago. it's been a feature of the pandemic for my family: go on a bike ride or a walk, and find a place to get shawerma. Tarboush was a great find - very good, friendly and really easy to get to from the 606.

Portions are big and full. Food is always fresh. Street parking for pick up, so be quick. Food also reheats wells for the next day. One of the better Mediterranean restaurants in the city. Would also recommend ordering for a group to share. Fairly priced and good quality.

Delicious food. This Mediterranean place is in Wicker Park. I ordered the food online. Everything was well packed. The portion size is good and great quality food. First, food arrived hot! So kudos to the restaurant and Doordash. What stood out was the potion size. It is very good! Even the salmon fillet is a great value. Agree with another reviewer, that garlic sauce and dill rice stand out. The falafels tasted good but were too dry. The salmon could have been tender. With these changes, this would be a 5 star restaurant.

Tarboush is one of my favorite places to order from! Their food is consistent and delicious. The last time I ordered there was something missing from my bag, so I called and they apologized and sent a delivery person back out. They also kindly included a box of delicious dessert with the item! It was super kind and very much appreciated. Their Baba Ganoush is my favorite!

Very good and conveniently located right off the exit ramp at North Ave and I-90. I always hit it up on my way back into Chicago from a long road trip to get my Falafel and baba ganoush fix. This last time I even met the owner who is very kind. Baba and Falafel are excellent here.

The food was great! 4 of us split 3 different plates so we could all try everything as well as ordered lentil soup, baba ganoush and baklava. Everything was good and reasonably priced. Staff was kind and patient.

I had the Gyros with the sour cream sauce and it wasn't bad at all. It was freshly made to order. There wasn't a long wait time to get it. To me it was pretty good and I will be returning to it again. Of your ever around Ashland Ave and North Ave stop there to had a bit to eat. You will not be disappointed with your order.

The food was very good, i live the rice and lamb and falafels. The dolmas were good too but i would not get them again on a cold day because they are served cold (i did not know that!) But they would be a very tasty summer food.

Tarboush is my boyfriend and my go-to for Mediterranean food delivery. (And, frankly, Mediterranean food, period.) The falafel is some of the best I've had, and probably the best in Chicago. Everything comes fresh. Sauces and salads are light and tasty, and I also love that they offer a quinoa substitute for rice. Plus, we've never had an issue with an order. 5 stars!

My husband and I were traveling with our dogs, so we were limited to Grubhub options. Luckily for us, Tarboush was available. This was one of the most affordable dinner choices and all of the food we tried was amazing! Service was fast and friendly, and the extra condiments were a nice touch - the chili paste was great! My husband loved his Gyro Plate with dill rice (awesome!) and I will be craving another Falafel Wrap for the next month. The Chicken Kabob was flavorful and some of the best I have had. The Garlic Sauce. Just get it. Vegan and Vegetarian options are available. Tips: Try the dill rice and order a pita and some garlic sauce on the side!
