When you walk in, you immediately feel at home. From the rustic furnishings to the amazing smells wafting out of the kitchen, you know your in for a treat. Between Ms. Sandra and Ms. Phoenix (two of the awesome ladies that make the restaurant turn) you will be in gracious and welcoming hands all evening!

Very quant and intimate. Authentic German bistro. Got the German Tour which was Sauerkraut, Red Cabbage, Weiner Schnitzel, Bratwurst with mashed potato. I also got a side of their homemade German potato salad. It is the best German potato salad I've had. Took the plum Streusel to go. Was so stuffed 🥰

Sweet little corner offering good tasty food at reasonable prices. But there are many schnitzel variations. It would be nice if there was more choice. Parking can be quite tight.

Fantastic schnitzel and potato pancakes! The selection of beer and wine is impressive as well. And as someone who no longer drinks, I really appreciate that they have a few imported non-alcoholic options.

First time diner at this cute little spot. There were 3 of us: one had the Friday shrimp Reisling over linguini special which was excellent, the second guest had the Thursday special beef roulade with purple cabbage and potato dumpling and he really enjoyed. I had the Black Forest style schnitzel with brown mushroom gravy, which was very good. One ordered the danish pastry for dessert and she said it was one of the best she'd had. The waitress was pleasant and attentive, and we had an enjoyable dinner and will certainly go again. Two constructive criticisms: 1. There was a music speaker located slightly behind me and it was loud enough that I couldn't really converse with the two friends on the other side of the table. 2. They need to develop a few lower priced appetizers - their appetizers were priced within $3-4 of the majority of the entrees. The entrees were priced very appropriately. I give it 4 of 5 stars.

Schnitzel was overcooked, and my husband's had mushrooms and gravy and had a strange taste. Was told the apple streudel was imported from Germany. I guess they microwave it to defrost it and heat it up, not worth ordering.

I'd rate this restaurant as zeros stars if I could. My friends and I dined at A Taste of Europe Bistro on 41 N. in Port Charlotte today for lunch. We ordered salads and water, nothing else, and were surprised to see a $75 bill, with $3.50 per bottle of water. We tipped well. While it was pricey, what truly disappointed us was the disgusting and offensive treatment that we received from the restaurant owner. At one point, the place was empty for about 45 minutes. Suddenly, the owner approached our table with a seriously aggressive demeanor, asking us to lower our voices for the sake of other guests. She told us that she had listened to us enough over two hours. One of my friends, a native Spanish speaker, quietly expressed her surprise with "aye aye aye," but the woman proceeded to mock her. As she walked away, she imitated "aye aye aye," which came across as racist. Were we slightly loud? Perhaps, as we hadn't seen each other in a long time. Were we disruptive? Certainly not. Were we warned or asked to keep it down more than once? No. This was the most impolite encounter I've had in a restaurant. Furthermore, the $17 salad was not impressive, and the restaurant had a persistent fryer odor. It's no wonder they had very few customers throughout the day.

My friends and I only ordered three salads no drinks only water and we paid 80$. Is really not worthy to go and try to spend a good time sitting in a cafe where you are supposed to chat with your friends, we were shocked we could not even say anything back to her we just left. At A Taste of Europe — Went to a Taste of Europe Bistro on 41 N. in Port Charlotte today for lunch with a couple of girlfriends. We each got a salad and water. Nothing else. The bill was $75. A little pricey but here's the kicker: we were there for 2 1/2 hours. During that time they might have had 10 other guests and at one point the place was empty for about 45 minutes . All of a sudden, the cook (possibly the owner?) came over to our table with a sourpuss and said dryly, "can you keep it down we have other guests." One of my friends, a native Spanish speaker said under her breath, "aye aye aye", shocked by the curt demand of this woman, who then proceeded to mock my friend. As she walked away she shouted over her shoulder, "aye aye aye. I've been listening to it for 2 1/2 hours.". (Mimicking the "aye aye aye came across as very racist.). Were we loud? Maybe we laughed a little loud. We haven't seen each other in a long time. Were we obnoxious? Absolutely not. Were we warned or asked more than once to keep it down? Nope. I think this is the rudest thing that has ever happened to me in a restaurant.

Suzanne G sunny SW Florida 269 Reviewed yesterday Wonderful New Year's Eve Experience For a change, we decided to go out for New Year's Eve and what a wonderful time we had. We were seated with another couple and that set the tone for the evening. The food was outstanding and the wait staff really knew their stuff. It was a fixed menu: I had a delicious Cornish hen and my husband throroughly enjoyed his pork. Did I mention shrimp cocktail? Instead of an overwhelming cocktail sauce, the shrimp was served with a delicate cream sauce. Wine choices suggested by our waitress worked well with our meals. It was a wonderful evening and we are so glad we decided to dine at Taste of Europe Bistro. UPDATE: Went to the Taste of Europe Bistro once again and had a miserable time. I received the wrong entree and waitress didn't correct the mistake. Very hot in the restaurant--I would estimate over 80 degrees. Many bugs. We won't return.

My husband and I had been to the Taste of Europe Bistro for New Year's eve and had a great meal and a very nice time. Went again this evening and had a completely different experience. It was 75 degrees outside and hotter and more humid inside, with lots of flies in the restaurant. We placed our orders--I ordered pork shnitzel. When my order arrived, I thought it looked a little strange for schnitzel. I took a bite and realized it was something else--perhaps potato pancakes, with fresh salmon pieces on the top. I picked at it a bit, then our waitress returned and said, "Oh, the wrong dish was delivered to you." I expected her to return with the correct dish, but she didn't. Later, she asked me if I liked the salmon and I told her I did not like it. I truly had expected that she would have delivered the correct food to me, but she never did. My husband enjoyed his food, but we will never return.

Cant comment on the food as Someone came to the table after we ordered and asked if my girlfriend was sick, she was wearing a mask. She replied no and we were told you have to take off the mask to eat/drink and they do not tolerate masks at this resturant. Which I guess is their right... also our right to pay for the drinks and leave. She wears a mask as a precaution as she is a cancer survivor.

Couldn't tell you about the food as we didn't make it that far. I was told that wearing a mask was not acceptable in their establishment. I'm pretty sure these folks are the same people who complain about their freedoms being stripped from them when the cdc requested masks to be worn. How about my freedom to wear a mask? It doesn't hurt any one. Perhaps I should've been candid about my compromised immune system from cancer treatments, or that I had been exposed to covid and didn't want to spread it to anyone. Perhaps a more apt name would be "A Taste of the Gestapo" or "A Taste of Ignorance".

We went on a Thursday night as that's the only night you can get sauerbraten. We had a reservation but certainly didn't need it. In a town where most restaurants are fully booked every night, there was only one other couple in the place. Now we know why. The food was inedible. To start I ordered a glass of pinto grigio and was brought a very dry bitter wine. I asked the waitress if she was sure it was pinot. She said it was but when I then looked at a wine menu pasted on a wine bottle light on the table, I realized they didn't even sell a pinot grigio. She had just served me something she thought was close. She then bought was a basket of stale dry tasteless white bread with tzatziki sauce (no butter or oil was available). Next came a salad of just lettuce and chopped tomato, which was sparse but tasted OK. Then our entrees arrived. They served up leathery pot roast with a gray gravy, a gelatinous potato dumpling with a slimy mouth feel but no taste, and red cabbbage with a splash of vinegar. Needless to say neither of us ate the dinner. We told the waitress we didn't think it was even sauerbraten. I showed her that I could barely get the knife through the tough beef. Her comment was "Sorry, hope you try us again" and she brought us take out menus. My bill was $35. We left there hungry. I won't be eating there again, and neither should you.

The meat was definitely old, pot roast, over cooked with gravy dumped on top. The meat was so tough it was hard to chew. The dumpling had no taste and was a big glob of nothingness. The waitress asked us if we didn’t like it and I gave her the same review. She explained it’s tough to depend on a cut of meat. They offered nothing off and the bills were $31.34 per person. Literally we both sent the entire meal back.

This is the best rendition to a European atmosphere I've yet experienced. The Taste of Europe, is in my opinion very heavily German inspired but does an outstanding job of delivering authentic food made with love and care. The schnitzel and curry wurst and perogies (pictured below) are absolutely wonderful and wash down well with a hefeweizen or one of the many available wines. I would say I was expecting to be swayed into trying food from other countries or a taste of Europe platter but the menu doesn't offer more than little hints of other cuisines applied to a German dish. That being said I would HIGHLY recommend trying this place for a nice lunch or a romantic date night.

I’m here to visit my mother who is 90 years old and very ill in the hospital, she want eat anything but we talked about all the food she’d make us that she ate as a child in Germany, I entombed that I loved the potato pancakes she’d fry, and she smiled and said “now puffers, I’d eat those” it took me few minutes to find this place, and got her a order of puffers, I’ve not seen her smile in months! She loved them! Everyone there was kind it’s a beautiful place thank you

Run by a little old German lady, they provide classic European dishes, mostly German and central Europe. I love their schnitzels, but everything is fresh and delicious. They get their meats form an authentic old time German meat market next door. Great eats!

Ordered schnitzel with spatzle and had it delivered. It was quite good. Only wish we could have ordered additional sides like red cabbage or sauerkraut. Would order again.
