I am reviewing Tequila Jalisco as someone who has spent an extended period of time in Monterrey, Guanajuato, and Oaxaca, Mexico. The food was sadly disappointing. The beans were very bland, and the enchilada sauce had no flavor. My dad also said that his steak was tough. I would be happy to try it again, but not until the kinks are worked out. Update - Tried it again. It was much better than the last time 2 years ago. The food had flavor! I would try it again!

A nice and refreshingly unique Mexican style restaurant in the surrounding Pittsburgh area, which is not a given for the locale. My family went on a Tuesday night for dinner, and though my young children made the visit a touch chaotic (nothing new there)- it was enjoyable and I look forward to going back. The design and decor of the establishment ventures away from the more stereotypical "Tex-Mex" aesthetic, with cool and light colors that give an aura of light sophistication. I had the Chicken Mole, which was flavorful and in large portion, and though I admit I was hoping for a touch depth in the dish itself, it was enjoyable. My wife had Chile Relleno and found it to be good, and my kids took advantage of the "Taco Tuesday" special and enjoyed themselves as much as two younger kids will. Overall, it was a step above other contemporaries in the Pittsburgh area, and is a worthwhile stop if in or around the Gibsonia area.

My 1st choice for Mexican food.

I can't rave enough about Tequila Jalisco! Delicious food, warm and inviting atmosphere. The drinks are DELICIOUS and so beautiful. The entire staff is so friendly, funny and attentive. Go there! You won't be disappointed!

Very nice, cool, and calm dining area. The food was superb! I had the birria tacos and they were soooo good. The only thing I hate about going out to eat is the rush to order but the wait for your check and Togo boxes. This could be my first time here and you’re not even giving me time to look at the menu then my food comes and I’m just a distant memory. THEY HaVE A New DIp is fireeeeeee! Literally , spicy but soooooo good 😊

Great Mexican food!!!! 👍 I eat here quite often. Arroz con pollo, chile Verde, chile Colorado are my favorite entrees. The shrimp 🍤 cocktail is a very good appetizer.

I have to give the manager and staff an A++++. We visited very last minute on July 9th in between our mothers, grandmothers funeral viewing. There were approximately 40 of us. Each and every staff member worked efficiently and quickly to get our orders in and had us out of there within 1.25 hours. I can’t say how much we appreciated their team work and kindness. They also gave us the back banquet room which was fantastic.

This was one of the best Mexican Restaurants I’ve ever been to. Top 5! Can’t wait to get back !

Had take out and it was more than enough for two people to eat. Tasted great too.

The food was delicious, ate the take-home leftovers the next day, and it still tasted great. I'd like to recommend that the take-home containers be upgraded to microwave safe.

No one at our table cared for their tomato based sauce. It had oregano and something else I couldn't pinpoint. We weren't fans at all.

hosted a retirement dinner for one of our nurses this past weekend. super accommodating! let us hang some decorations (with tape obviously) came in and sang to her and everything! the food and drinks were delicious! will definitely come back!

Best Mexican food and drink ever!

The restaurant has a great look! We sampled from each other. I think the carne asada was my favorite, the seafood enchilada was also good. The chicken had pico de gallo and spinach on it, great flavor! Our server did a great job, and everything came out fast.

We had our first visit today for lunch. My husband and I each had a chimichanga and my children split a vegetable quesadilla. Service was really fast and amazingly friendly. Multiple staff members would check in and make sure all was well and were very personable. I would go back solely for the friendly service (but I enjoyed my food as well!)

Best Mexican food in the Pittsburgh area. Family run with great service. We have been searching for good Mexican food and it’s worth the 30 minute drive to get it.

My husband and I love Tequila Jalisco, Christian and Manny are the most amazing people, they always go over and beyond to make everyone completely satisfied in anyway they can. They also have tremendous employees that do everything in their power to make sure your happy from the time you walk in the door till the time you leave. The food is made fresh for every order which guarantees your going to be happy with each and every bite. It's but swimming in grease, salt and looks like it came out of a microwave.(Oh! If for some one in a million reason you should not be happy, be prepared for extremely great customer service to make sure you are happy) Their drink menu has numerous choices our favorite is the ability to have an enjoyable Mexican drink which can be organic, and not loaded with high fructose corn syrup and they are more than happy to adapt any drink to your liking. Wait for it... Remember how you like it the next time you come back in. When you finally decide to leave that evening, anyone that sees you leave will say "See You Tomorrow" which I guarantee you, you will.

My favorites- #24 #30 and for a big appetite- #41. Their bowl of chicken soup is a meal in itself. I can't say enough about this place. Such a friendly environment- delicious food and reasonable prices. Servers are so attentive that you always have a refill. House chips and salsa free before your meal and comes with individual salsa bowls. Delish! See you tomorrow ❤️

I've only got one thing every time I've been there. It's that good! The Burrito Jalisco I believe it is. Shrimp, beef, chicken....I can only get through half and I'm a big guy.

We always come here because my husband wishes my food was this good, my service was this good, and let’s face it, I can’t keep my house this clean. So many good things to choose from.

Edited for 2nd visit: Got two “burritos”. They had almost nothing in them and were like enchiladas. Girlfriend’s birria tacos were 90% tortilla and had very little meat in them. The photo I posted was the first visit, they were filled nicely. The second visit, which I unfortunately didn’t take a picture of, had maybe 1/4 the birria meat in it. For $17 and $19 respectively, this is absurd. The menu is overwhelmingly large and seems to be half great, authentic feeling dishes and half undersized, overpriced basic “Mexican” food. Order correctly and you’ll be happy. Order wrong and you’ll walk away feeling awful about that check you just signed. Also, charging almost $2 to use a card when you charge $20 for some margs, $17 for 2 tortillas, 2 bites of meat, a tiny scoop of rice? Crazy. Dropped to 3 stars until they improve. Service was great, shoutout to Cesar for making us feel at home. Margaritas were fire. Expensive, but expected of a high quality margarita. Would be nice to see them at $8-$12 vs $12-$16. Some are $20. There are deals throughout the week and pitchers which we didn’t take advantage of TBF. Food was authentic, fresh, and full of flavor. I bought “El Molcajete” which was filled with steak, shrimp, chorizo, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and white queso. Came with 3 warm tortillas, rice, beans. It was delicious but I would never order it again for a few reasons. For one, it was $26. There are a few meals for $6-$12 less that would fill you up wayyy more. Second, and most important, it was literally lava. I’ve ordered plenty of “sizzling xyz” dishes at restaurants and never had something like this. They serve it legitimately boiling in the chorizo grease, in the molcajete. Neat presentation, but awful eating experience. It literally bubbled for 10-15 minutes after getting it. I removed a piece of food to cool down and it absolutely scorched my tongue even after 10-15 minutes of air cooling. Even after 30 total minutes I couldn’t eat my food without ruining my tongue. This was days ago and it’s still slightly burnt, easily the worst tongue burn I’ve ever had. I understand the presentation but damn, boiling chorizo grease is not it. If this was fixed, this meal would’ve been top notch. I didn’t want to say anything as it was getting late and we couldn’t wait for anything else, but it made the meal impossible to enjoy. Ended up taking half of it home after not being able to eat it for that rough 30 min. Girlfriend got birria tacos. Delicious consomè, enchilada sauce(?) on the side. Wished it had the Oaxacan cheese inside with the cilatro and onion, but W/E. Could probably ask if you wanted to. Chips and salsa were delicious. Classic thin, restaurant style salsa and warm tortilla chips. Free! This place could be an 5 stars, but the $26 lava bowl really rubbed me the wrong way. Hope the owners make sure that doesn’t happen to anyone else…just a few minutes less in the oven and it would’ve been fine.

Decided to try this restaurant since the reviews were amazing. I don’t know what other people are eating but this is clearly made in bulk and microwaved. Bland, half warm Mexican. Didn’t taste any better than a frozen enchiladas (which it could have been). So disappointed. Service was great (too fast for our food to have been cooked to order though).

Fantastic food and the service is incredible! The meal was delicious from the chips, guacamole, cheese and salsa to the main course. Of course if a restaurant serves fried ice cream, you have to get dessert! 100% recommend trying this place I promise you won't be disappointed!

4.5 stars. This Mexican restaurant has a large menu of salads, tacos, enchiladas, burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, special entrees, desserts, alcoholic beverages, etcetera. The menu includes sections for children and for vegetarians. I have eaten dinners here a few times. The employees have always provided timely and courteous service, and the food has always been fresh and flavorful. I usually order quesadillas, and my husband usually orders fajitas. We also highly recommend the cheese dip.

Best Mexican food I’ve ever had.

The food was delicious! And the strawberry margarita was great. Really nice atmosphere. Not your typical Mexican restaurant, feels a little more upscale. Definitely will be back.

This is our new fav Mexican place. My family loves it as well! Food and margaritas are delicious and consistent. The El Molcajete was the best thing I’ve ever had! The flavor was out of this world. service is also awesome! Highly recommend!

We love coming here. The food always exceeds expectations. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, the recipes are authentic, the space is extremely clean and the atmosphere is friendly and inviting. Managers Cristian and Manny are always visiting tables, upholding the highest level of quality and customer service. A much needed staple on route 8 and worth the drive to come from any area of Pittsburgh for authentic Mexican. Highly recommend!

After moving to PGH from California 3 years ago, I find it a struggle to find great Mexican food. Growing up Mexican American, my primary diet was Mexican food. I see the words genuine and authentic thrown around losely when applied to Mexican restaurants, but in my experience, those words completely apply to Tequila Jalisco in all facets of the restaurant.

Great food at great prices. Patio is Dog friendly! When the weather is good. The service here is fantastic, and is the food. I'd recommend the horchata with any meal. Complimentary chips and salsa served at every table. See you tomorrow!

Stopped here while driving through PA and was very pleasantly surprised.

The service was top notch! We always had someone checking on us to make sure we had enough chips/drinks. The food was also delicious! I filled up on queso so I took most of my entree home; I was not upset in the least to eat my delicious shrimp quesadilla for leftovers. Next time (when I don't have to drive) I'll definitely be trying a margarita!

Fast, good service and tasty! They offer a substantial portion for their competitive price. The menu has many varieties. Even explanations for people unfamiliar with Mexican food :) the restaurant is not crazy noisy either, and the furnitures are fairly new (they were founded about 2 years ago). So would be good for a casual work meal or a family outing. Very honest business.

Wonderful time! Everything was great including the somewhat strange mix of music. We love Tejano and Merengue music but there was something else we haven't heard before but we will be coming back for more. Oh and awesome food! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Well…ample parking and good service. Large portions but the quality was really lacking. We had fajitas for two and it was just ok, the bean burrito just okay, as well as the enchiladas. Price is okay but this is a simple average at best.

10/10. Best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to. Beats every other one around the north Pittsburgh area. Beats Mexican in the American southwest. Hot, delicious, consistent food every single time my wife and I have visited. The friendliest staff. Manager is always on the floor asking how your meal is. Attentive. Super clean and welcoming. Margaritas are amazing. Have never had a complaint ever. It’s also family owned and staffed by people from Jalisco. If you don’t get food here you’re missing out.

Tried for the first time today. People were super nice, restaurant was bright clean and modern, well put together. The bar and a few drinks I saw looked very good, your typical big fishbowl margaritas and swirly fruit flavored slushies... So I can whole-heartedly recommend this place for drinks and snacks. A few margaritas with chips and salsa would be delightful here. Its just... the food isn't good. At all. LOL. I have a Tex-Mex addiction and maybe i have high standards, but it just wasnt for me. The chips and salsa were very good however. Salsa is nothing special, very tomato-forward with onion and cilantro, but blended smooth and good enough. The cheese sauce was basically macaroni and cheese flavor. American cheese melted... period. I expected more of a "queso" type dip. Oh well. Now on to the basics any tex-mex joint should nail. I did NOT enjoy the taquitos. Flautas (their more authentic name) should have seasoned chicken inside, be thin and crisp, and delicious. The ones I got just had strands of dry plain (totally unseasoned) chicken and the taquitos are too thick so the ends burn as they cook, but the middles were chewy. I might recommend making the flautas/taquitos much thinner and just giving an extra one for portion consistency vs. super thick ones with burnt edges. Way too plain and just nothing appetizing about them. The rice and beans are average... I didn't like the refritos at all. They had an "off" taste and the rice was just salty and plain. Tamales were dense as a brick, tasted frozen... and the enchilada sauce was weird also... it should be a deep dark red, smokey, velvety smooth, and have a the flavor of chili powder or smoky chipotle peppers... instead it tasted like vinegary tomatoes, very odd. So yeah... I recommend this place for drinks and snacks (chips, appetizers, etc), and because the people were friendly and inviting... but not for dinner. Maybe I just got some bad choices. Perhaps Ill try it again and get a quesadilla or something. Pittsburgh sadly has VERY VERY FEW places where you can get good Tex-Mex. Being so far from the southwest, I think we've come to accept anything in a taco shell or tortilla as "tex mex" which is sad. Because its a vibrant and wonderful cuisine when done right. But Tequila Jalisco is not it for me. But they aren't alone. I think Patron, El Campesino, and Emiliano's are all pretty bad to be honest...and Tequila Jalisco is cleaner than most of the others... So a mixed review here. If you go to West Texas or New Mexico and eat tex-mex... they do it right, but it will spoil you! God, I miss Don Pablos... why did you close on me!

I'm very surprised at how delicious the food was! I was expecting kind of average burritos, but these were great. The prices are also super reasonable and the portions are absolutely huge. I tried their bean burrito and shredded beef burrito, as well as the complimentary chips with salsa. The bean burrito was very good. As mentioned, both burrito portions were huge. The inside was super creamy and had a fantastic flavor profile. They topped it was a bit of cheese on the outside, too, but that wasn't overwhelming at all. Not too oily either. The beef burrito was also very good. I will say, the meat was a tad bit tough. But, for the price, this really can't be beat. It was seasoned pretty well and had a more than adequate amount of meat packed in there. Decent, but pretty average, tortilla. The complimentary chips are always nice. They gave a large bag, and the chips themselves were crispy and well made. The salsa was somewhat mediocre and watery, though. All in all, I am very satisfied with this meal. I would recommend ordering from the a la carte section if you are on a budget. Super tasty, fresh, great portions, and great price.

3.5 stars but Google doesn't allow half stars. This place is pretty good love the $1.75 tacos. Sides are pretty cheap good is pretty good. Never had a bad experience here. Wait staff are good, they don't push you to get anything specific. Also some food has spice to it but i like it.

This is the Cheesecake Factory of Mexican food! The menu has soooo many options and every meal we've had here has been great! The Tequila Dip on the app menu is very much worth getting!

Immediately you can see the pride and professionalism that all the employees take in themselves and the restaurant. Very good lunch with excellent service! The flan is a dessert that should not be missed! The rice was very well cooked and seasoned. Our menu items appeared fresh and hot!
